Forgot home screen lock pattern on ZTE ZMAX Pro - ZTE Zmax Pro Questions & Answers

I forgot my home screen lock pattern. We used to have the option to get into our mobile phones via our Google account/Gmail in a bind like this. Now it only gives you 30 seconds before another attempt and that's it (?) I tried logging into Android Device Manager and it sends a code via SMS on my phone, but how can I see the SMS if I can't unlock my phone?! Is there any other way to get in? Perhaps with my Google account? Thx...

Hi.
Was reading your post.
Try rebooting in RECOVERY-Mode.
1-Turn phone off
2-Hold down: Power & Down Buttons
3-Press: Up, when Logo/Android shows
4- Scroll with: Pwr Up/Dwn to: RECOVERY
5-Select: Recovery, with the Pwr-Button
6-WAIT for phone to reboot into Recov-Mode;
then, click: "Wipe Cache Data". After that,
click: "Factory Reset" or similar wording.
Finally, reboot phone. You should now be
able to get into it without ANY locks!!!
Only downside is: this method WILL erase
all previous stuff. Hope you made a backup.
Let me know how you made out; and good
luck.

[Q] Tab stuck in recovery after trying SIM Unlock

Hi everyone,
I have a Galaxy Tab SIMlocked to Orange Spain. I tried to SIM Unlock it following the instructions at www[dot]galaxytabnews[dot]com/news/sim-unlock-galaxy-tab
I had to run the commands by hand because I'm on a Mac so I can't run .bat files, however, I was extra careful to go through all the commands.
I'm stuck in the recovery screen. If I select "reboot system now", I just get the Android with the warning sign. If I powercycle by long-pressing the power button and turning it on again, it goes back into Recovery. And if I do an adb shell and try to do an su (to recover the files) I get a Permission denied message.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
adb reboot fixed it!

With the stock 3e recovery, you have to use the "Home" capacitive button, right ? (unlike other recovery mods that rely on the Power button) I noticed that activating a menu entry requires more than one press, and if I wait for too long the system returns to the root menu. I had the same "problem" today, recovery modes are sometimes just not very intuitive.
When I hit the Home button the menu disappeared and the Android with the Warning sign in the background came up to full brightness, but nothing else happened.
In the end I tried doing an "adb reboot" and that fixed the problem. Talk about missing the obvious! BTW the instructions in the article worked great, my Tab is now SIM Unlocked (at least as far as *#7465625# goes, I haven't yet had a chance to plug in another SIM)

lockscreen password lost - how to reset?

Hi,
my nephew has forgotten his lockscreen password (text). So there is no chance to get in android. The Nexus 7 is locked and USB debugging is NOT enabled.
What can I do to get in android back?
WLAN is on!
When I get to the bootloader to do Recovery Mode - then I get the Android-Man with the message Kein Befehl (no command).
Thanks and best regards,
schiff
Put in incorrect password
Type in incorrect password about 10 times. Then it will give you an option of using your google account to unlock.

That does not work. After 5 times there us displayed a pop up with the message: you entered the password 5 times wrong. please try again in 30 sec.
But there is no possibilty to enter the google account.
I open the Nexus 7 case. Is there any battery (or somethin like that) to make a hard reset?

Does it says 'Forgot pin' anywhere after 5 wrong messages? You need to tap that link which will take you to login through Google account.
If that doesn't works, then hard reset your nexus 7 to factory settings. It will wipe all apps and data. See this link for hard reset
http://www.ekoob.com/hard-reset-recovery-mode-nexus-7-11334/
I found the answer:
* http://androidforums.com/nexus-7/610638-warning-nexus-7-has-no-hard-reset.html
Here's the trick.
Reboot to fastboot by pressing POWER and VOLUME DOWN together until you get to the first boot screen. Select "Recovery Mode" by using the volume buttons to scroll and confirming with Power. It will reboot into recovery (the smaller Android with the open chest and Red "!") Now - here's the tricky bit - you have to press POWER and UP together ONCE to enable the recovery menu.
Then, you can select Factory Reset and you're good to go.
You don't need to be plugged in to a computer.

[Q] Please help guys

I have installed 4.2.2 on nexus 7. As I had skipped account login at welcome screen, i could not login the account. I altered the apk of login. After factory reset my device has hanged on setup on welcome screen. I tried installing custom rom through stock bootloader but the bootloader says installation failed. How do I solve thia problem guys???

don't know the exact steps, but i got it out of the APX mode and into the bootloader.
1. Tablet plugged into computer.
2. Held Volume Down + Volume Up + Power (simultatenously) for three seconds
3. And then released all, and pressed Power again.
4. Tablet booted into bootloader.
I thought that unlocking the bootloader ALWAYS voided the warranty, but in anycase I flashed reflashed ALL stock and locked the bootloader. Will be sending it to ASUS now. Thanks again!
EDIT:
So I wanted to verify that it was a CPU problem, and I downloaded StabilityTest again and ran the CPU load test. It crashed within two minutes, and went into AXP mode again. To get it out of AXP mode, the correct instructions:
1. Plug in the usb into computer
2. Hold Volume Down + Volume Up + Power simultaneously for like 15 seconds
3. The bootloader should show up.
4. If it doesn't, unplug the usb cable, and plug it back in and then repeat the these procedures.

Very helpful! I don't have a problem but I've read about others stuck in APX mode. This should be pinned if it works for those stuck in APX. Maybe you should change the thread title to something about APX solution so it draws some attention.

Well... being stuck in APX doesn't necessarily mean your hardbricked. (Corrupt or erased bootloader).
But being hardbricked DOES mean your device will default to APX mode.
To use a mathematical metaphor, one is a SUBSET of the other.
-------
bftb0 has posted an exhaustive list of Nexus 7 button press combos here...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2133986
... which includes how to pro-actively get into APX mode... although until somebody figures how to nvFlash the N7, APX is sort of redundant.

I'm sort of confused about the relationship between your edited post and what (apparently ?) kieso quoted, but I'll throw out a few suggestions:
1) AFAIK, there is no way to flash a dev ROM using fastboot (only the boot image of a dev ROM can be flashed this way). You said "bootloader", not "custom recovery" ... so that implies using fastboot. If that is not the case, then your use of terminology is not correct. (It's a computer - reporting details correctly is incredibly important).
2) If you bypass the WiFi login, an account can be added at any time later using the settings menu or simply by launching the Google Play (market) app - there is no need to "alter the apk of login", whatever that means.
3) I would recommend at this point that you start completely over by flashing a factory ROM using fastboot - see the sticky thread about returning to stock using fastboot. If you already have the 4.18 bootloader installed, I recommend you avoid like the plague any operation involving flashing the bootloader.
4) It should be obvious from the trouble that you got yourself into that you should learn what nandroid backups are and that you START USING THEM. The first thing you do after rooting is "make a backup", not "flash a ROM"
good luck
Thanq so much. But still some clarification needed
Now What do I do? My nexus 7 can't pass through at welcome screen saying saying unfortunately setup wizard has stopped. and in recovery{i have no custom recovery, I use bootloader 4.18} i cant flash any rom. I just want to start device any how.. any way.. Is there any way??

I guess I am having trouble understanding the sum total of information you have provided - I guess you have omitted some information or mis-stated something. No custom recovery sort of implies a full stock device, but yet you previously mentioned modifying/changing an .apk in /system... normally that would be possible only with a rooted ROM or a custom recovery to do that.
If your tablet is 100% stock, a factory reset of the tablet should allow you to boot once again - at the cost of deleting everything you put on the device, including all files you put on the (pseudo-) SD card.
If that is the case:
- press and hold power+vol-down until the bootloader screen shows up
- use vol-up/vol-down to select "start recovery" and press the power button
- an android lying on it's back should show up; this is the stock recovery splash screen, so
- press power+vol-up simultaneously for about one second - the stock recovery menu should show up
- select factory reset (with vol-up/vol-down) and press the power button.
good luck

when you say at the cost of deleting everything, does this include deleting everything in the bootloader because thats what I did when I used the command "fastboot erase bootloader"

How to access my encrypted LG G2 (Glass/digitizer damaged) *solved*

I have a problem my glass and digitizer is damaged, I was able to access the device thru the "lg on screen" program, everything was fine, so I got it sold on an auction site yesterday, so I thought I would do the final and usual procedure to first encrypt the device and wipe device, however after I did encrypt the device I am no longer able to access the device thru "lg on screen" program, I am not able to login on the device since the screen does not respond to input, and usb says there is no device detected so I can't use the computer to input the password.
I did advertise that LG on screen did work when I sold the device, also, I do not feel comfortable selling a device with a "crackable" password with more advanced users to access my private data...for the more advanced users it is probably not that hard..
Is there any way I can input with the device ? I just need to write the 4 digit code so the device can login then "lg on screen" app should work again... WHat should I do ? I just want to wipe the device clean.. My hope is I can wipe the device thru usb some how.. to restore it back to factory reset..
obviously there seem to be a solution to my problem it is called "hard reset" which you only need the buttons on the back in order to do a factory reset, unfortunately the recovery menu does never load as it should..I wonder if that is because the device is encrypted ???
Solution:
hold down power + volume down untill the lg logo appears then let the buttons go and pres volume up and volume down and hold them..

if its FRP locked, then you have to clear that FRP lock, if you using combination file then you have to have Z3x hardware box to clear it, or you have to flash the stock ROM again and then see YouTube videos to see if you can get lucky to clear that frp lock, under combination file you wont see oem, you have to be on stock Rom to see that. if you can't get that frp lock away, then either you have to buy a service which can clear that for you or just send that phone back to seller using eBay return policies, there is no other way around to it.
I managed to bypass frp on my verizon s7 G930VVRU8CRJ3. I will try and list the steps so you can test it for yourself
From the start screen hold vol up and vol down simultaneously to start talkback
Draw a L to open global context menu.
Select talkback settings
Long press vol up and down together to turn off talkback
Select text to speech setting
Select the gear next to preferred engine
Select install voice data
Select the download arrow next to any language
Select the grey oval that says tools under the title of whatever language you chose
(You may have to update the galaxy store)
Select the magnifying glass and search for "internet"
Download samsung internet browser then open by pressing the triangle that appears in the same spot the download button was
Type frptools.com
Click on the second link that says All Frp Bypass Apk Download - frptools.com
Download FRPTools_8.1.apk install and open
Click on open google login. It will say you need google account manager then automatically down load it. Install that then it will take you back in to the frptools apk.
Click open google login again
Click on the three dots in the top right and choose browser sign in
Input your google account and password
Download apex launcher from frp tools apk and install.
Pull down notification shade and select settings gear
Select general management setting
Select reset
Select factory data reset. You should see your email account on this screen
Select reset.
Once it reboots you should be able breeze through setup wizard with your credentials.
Good luck! Please let me know if this works for you
THANK YOU! I had to redo the procedure, because after doing the factory reset, it still wouldn't accept my email.
After logging into my account via web browser, I simply backed all the way out and went to the account verification screen, and it said my account was set up and ready.
Edit: Sent you ad-free. ?
Awesome! Glad it worked. Thanks for the ad free!!
Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
I am also running G930VVRU8CRJ3 on an SM-G930v however once talk back is enabled the L gesture does nothing. Is there some type of secret I am missing?
Edit: I did eventually make this work, I was activating talkbalk by placing 2 fingers on the display not using the volume keys. I also had no luck doing the factory reset after adding the account, but upon trying again I backed out and was good to go. THANKS!!

Up through here, these instructions worked perfectly.
From there, I ran into the FRPTools not being able to launch the Google login because the account manager wasn't installed, and kept getting parsing errors trying to install it using FRPTools.
You can download a working Google account manager from here (use the already installed Samsung Internet Browser):
http://rootjunkysdl.com/files/Apps/FRP/Android_6_Google_Account_Manager.apk
Once it's installed, try reinstalling FRPTools and proceeding with the browser sign in. If that doesn't work, try using this one:
http://rootjunkysdl.com/files/Apps/FRP/com.rootjunky.frpbypass-1.0.apk
Either FRPTools or FRPBypass should work on an S7. Mine was a fully updated Verizon model (I flashed it with G930VVRU4CRE5_8).
After logging in, just reboot the phone and you should be able to complete the factory setup.
