Is there any custom ROM for our LG K8????? (i can't believe that there is NOT!!!) - LG K8 Questions & Answers

I can't believe there is not any other ROM for our cel. Not even Cyanogen/Lineage OS.
Should we change to another cellphone model? Will there be any development for our phone?.

Better belive lol.
There probably won't be developement of custom rom, since we first have to bypass lk partition checking because we can't flash anything because of that. Even if we manage to do that it will be hard to make custom rom for mediatek device, because it's mediatek..

I'm checking this forum almost daily... How about custom rom for this device?! Can you make maybe a default debloated custom rom? Thanks guys, you are the best.
I'm also waiting to see if someone makes a AOSP rom for this phone ...
I look every day xDD
i'm here also almost every day....when will custom rom be available for a5 2016...it's benn a while this phone is out but still nothing...anyone knows anything?
I would like a stock AOSP or CM rom too, however it bothers me that it would trip KNOX and void warranty.
It's good to know that I'm not the only one who check daily for custom rom for this device

I'm also waiting for a ASOP Rom for the 510F. Currently i'm clean the stock Rom from the bloatware and add some security patches to. But i have trouble to repack the System.img.
I'm follow this late 2013 guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2195858
If is some newer guide avadible?
Yeah me too.., hoping that a5 can upgrade to marshmallow..
What's happening, guys? No rom for A5 2016? Do something, please...

Same here. Would love to get Admin permissions and use TitaniumBackup to get rid of the Bloatware. As long the knox flag is triggered i prefer waiting. Simply dont want to void my warranty. Im pretty happy with my Phones overall performance, But im still thinking "maybe i should have gone for a s5 instead, because of the lack of Custom stuff support?!"...Also checking every day.
As you can see it is not that supported as other popular phones. What wonders me that evan A5 2015 has not that much of support for custom roms.
Ok...there is CM for it but still it has poor support.
And it is more than one year old phone and still not much of support.
What I am thinking and hoping is that the A5 2016 will have in some way better support becouse of the premium desing and maybe more developers will get this phone ... but I am not hoping of much support of custom roms anyway... couse just look at the threads...its so poor that all the A series got in few threads there.. not like some phones wich have their own thread and good support
And almost all custom things get the knox flag tripped
So mee too am waiting and will not woid warranty
Maybe later with better support I will woid it

No, you do something, guy.
You can't expect others to just drop everything in their hands and make you a custom rom, just because you made a post on an internet forum.
If you want it so bad, make it yourself.
OK so we will receive any Nougat version, that's clear. No information regarding AOSP ROMs.
nothing yet?...any "clean" ROM for us?

Which stable but speedy and debloated ROM for gf?

Hello everyone,
I personally never owned a Samsung device (always Nexus and mostly with Paranoid Android or Dirty Unicorns ROM) but my girlfriend has one and she defeniately needs it to be flashed :good:
As I am completely new to Samsung devices, I have no idea about all the developers and different ROMs that are out there for the Samsung Note 4 (Snapdragon).
I don't have much time to try around with different ROMs as it isn't my phone.
I need one that is good, stable, fast (and also supports the stylus / samsung apps). So I can flash it quickly and have a happy girlfriend
So that is the reason I an asking in the first place. Else I would just flash around and keep trying until I find the best fit.
I saw CM is officially supporting the Note 4. So that one might be a good solution. But does it have all those stylus samsung stuff?
Any other ROMs I should check out?
Do I need to flash a new radio?
Thanks in advance and sorry for posting another "which ROM" thread. But I can't really test around to find out on my own as it is not my device that I am going to improve !
If n910g, this is highly recommended, although you have to disable or uninstall later all apps that you don't want if you want a debloated rom.

It is N910F.
The link you provided is simply stock android MM?
Yes stock MM, stock is in my experience the most stable and bug free rom build. But the link is for n910g unfortunately.
Stock ROM, and then debloat yourself. Quite honestly speaking, and no offence to anyone, there are no good ROMs available for Note 4. In fact I myself might have not got the phone if I realised the development section is like this. And I am not interested in ported ROMs, so even though there are many available I won't go that way, and I am too dumb to make a ROM for myself, so stock ROM it is.
I agree, stock rom rooted and debloat it, and apply msm tweaks. If you want, xposed as well.

You must flash samsung based rom to have all soen features and samsung apps. I reconnemed kurama rom which in using , its battery friendly, fast and stock based. If you going to flash kurama rom you must flash modem and bootloader for the rom to boot up (only can be flashed from pc with odin)

[Need Help, Stock 6.0.1] I'm new here and i need some suggestions.

Well, recently I've moved from Galaxy s4 to Moto X Play and everything is new here for me becoz Exynos and Snapdragon are very different so flashing procedure is also different.
Currently I'm on stock unrooted android 6.0.1, and I want to know, is this device worth customization?
If yes then....
1. Which recovery is the best? (i didn't find official TWRP)
2. Which rom should i try first?
3. Does it support xposed Version 87?
4. There is lots of CM based roms, can anyone provide me bug list of CM based roms.
And most important thing, in case of bootloop or soft-hard brick then where can i find updated stock firmware?
If anyone give me answer of my questions, I'll really appreciate it.

Thanks for ur reply, and what about xposed?
i don't use it, but I guess you can't with N rom, but a MM one, cm13 is very good and recently patched if you need MM
BTW i didn't find official TWRP for X Play, Link that u provide is not official build.
Is this fully functional?

There is no such thing as "best ROM", regardless of whatever device or ROM is in question.
It's a matter of choice, all I can say is keep trying the different ROMs and/or kernels that are available for your device until you find one that fits your needs and serves your purposes, or at least, a ROM that gets as close to what you want/need as you can get out of what is available for your device.
It doesn't really do any good to ask others about what ROM to use, all they can do is tell you the experience they had with "this" or "that" ROM, but that doesn't help you because you and they may not have the same things installed. The additional apps and mods that you or they have installed on your devices after installing the ROM effect how the device performs, you or they might have other things installed along with the ROM that give you different results than they get, even though you both are using the same ROM.
It's like looking for a new car, the car that someone else likes or works well for them, might not be the car that works for your needs or you may not even like the car that they like at all.

Custom Rom

I have a fully stock Asus Zenfone 3 and i wish to switch to a custom rom, but i can't decide which rom is the best. Can anyone suggest the best available rom like the LineageOS, aim rom or dotOS or any other? There are many to choose from . And also should i root my device before flashing a custom rom? Can anyone give me the proper steps and links to the right forum to root and flash custom rom? My device is very stock. even my bootloader is still locked. Mine is a ZE520KL 4GB ram with 64GB rom. I want a rom which has no bugs, performs well, and a better battery life. Thanks in advance

Better wait for another month or two.. None of the available builds are upto the mark. I tried almost all ROMS in this forum. Some ROMs have serious bugs like not recognising sd card or without MTP connection (Note:- though they are marked Stable).. Key developers for our device are busy with their exams or holidays so development for this device is paused for now. Until then stay stock or keep your device ready for customs by unlocking the boot loader. :good:

Alright, thanks very much :good: . And as for unlocking the bootloader, unofficial is the best way to do it? as from the forums i've read, the only downside is the pop-up when rebooting the device. The FOTA and other functions work normally?

The Pop-up appears once bootloader is unlocked whether official or unofficial method. Best way is to use unofficial method. Next time make use of that small Thanks Button instead of typing..
