Just wait, usually the update is released for India and if there are no problems then it's released for EU.

Hi! Do you experience a constant upload after the security patch?
My background data is always at a constant 12KB/s upload. It's not draining the battery drastically but it wasn't like this before.

What do you mean by battery backup?
My Google Play Services usage increased to 24% now. This "bug" is not just eating up my battery life but my cellular data as well.
BTW, I'm trying to attach screenshots here but I always encounter an error.

I think you should've done clear cache or factory reset. I do clear my cache after every system update so the system runs flawlessly.

October security patch make my battery worse

Hi guys,
On November the 3rd I updated my S7 edge No brand to October security patch. I think my battery is worse than before.
Now I can make 4 hours of screen on, before I could make 3 hours with 50% of remaining battery.
Any of you has the same issue?
No, same as before for me.
So you already saw this behaviour for ~1 month now, constantly?
What are your main battery eaters in the battery stats?

I wrote wrong, I installed October security update on November the 3rd.
I experienced this drain over the weekend.
ANDROID SYSTEM
KERNEL
SCREEN
STANDBY SIGNAL
Me too had apparently a greater battery drain on BPJE (with October security patch).
I mean apparently because in the same period I also received the Android Wear app update to version 2.0 that might cause the drain.
Today I've installed the BPJG OTA update (with November security patch), and I'll report the situation after some significant battery cycles.
Security patches can't cause this.

Of course.
But IMHO the ITV October OTA update didn't contain only the security patch, as its size was 156.42 MB!

7.1.1 (December security update) live now

It's official, pixel c is not a pixel device. No pixel features to be found
For me the downloaded OTA will not work to upgrade from the beta version. The ota has a time stamp of 4 november and the beta has a timestamp of 11 November . Running adb sideload "ota.zip" returns Error E3003: Can't install this package (<OTA timestamp>) over newer build (<beta timestamp>).
Edit: Refresh my memory. Is it the case that any reversion from beta to factory release requires a full install?
Is anyone else noticing severe battery drain after updating to NMF26H? I didn't have a problem with the developer preview releases but I lost 35% of my battery idling last night and just tested again and lost 15% in roughly for hours. Android OS, tablet idle and Android system seem to be the vaguely specified culprits.

Quite the opposite for me. Battery life seems better.
I'll keep my eyes open. Perhaps it was a one off. Also, I now seem to notice that "Cellular network signal" appears under the battery graph (always as a "red" no signal, obviously). Is this new? I don't recall seeing it there before given that the tablet has no cellular radio.

Nope
The culprit for battery drain seemed to be the TWC TV app (which I never even really use). Uninstalling it seemed to fix it.
I upgraded the system yesterday to 7.1.1 from 7.0 and night mode has disappeared, I have read in some places that the implementation of night mode has changed in a way that now requires driver support which is not present in this device.
Anybody knows a solution for this? Overlay apps like twilight are much worse that native night mode

Welcome to this neck of the woods...

Poor battery life after February update

Since February update I am getting very poop battery life, usually I used to get SOT of about 6hrs but now it's dropped to only 4.5hrs.
I have accubattery installed and noticed that battery use while screen is off is too much. Yesterday during night it drained 25% in about 6-7hrs of screen off and wifi off.
Anyone else also facing this issue?
Also I noticed since the update, apps are staying in the background usually even after 1-2hrs if I didn't remove the app from recent apps it was working in background but now even after 5-10mins of not using the app it's getting removed from the background.

Install greenify. Hibernate those apps. Might be some apps running in the background without you knowing. I'm on Feb update and I'm still getting 6-7hr SOT.
This has nothing to do with a security only update. I'm pretty sure the problem is caused by one of your apps which you've recently updated.
Install GSam Battery Monitor and BetterBatteryStats and see what's wrong.
Same here and I'm losing my mind. Not sure if it really is decreased or my brain is playing tricks on me. I haven't had the phone for too long, so I only had the January update for 2 weeks or so and I really feel like the February update decreased my battery life. I have set up Greenify and Amplify. I've also disabled sensors for Google Play Services with XPrivacyLua because I noticed that the body sensor was using a lot of battery for it.
Edit: Ok, I'm pretty sure I fixed it and I have no idea how. I just know that it got fixed after a restart, even though I restarted my phone before. And I'm pretty sure it was RCSService that was eating the battery.

Hi bro, I am also having the same issue. The device is installed with same apps that was before updating. I charged the device upto 90 and went to sleep. When I woke up after 7hrs the battery is drained to 55%. Android services and android system(RCS) took the battery. Did a factory reset and no issue. Still getting along with this. Any improvements mate?

2. Battery drain fixed on my a1 with retro to January patch.

Yes, you will be able to get de OTAs because you are installing the official ROM, and bootloader will be automatically re-locked by the Mi Flash tool.

same here, i got 1% discharge in 6 minutes when i was in January update, but after i upgraded to feb security update, the phone discharges 1% in about 4 minutes. Yes, but the charging speed remains at 1% per minute.
I have to charge it twice, whereas a single charge lasted for a day. . i will wait for the March update

Pixel 2 XL alower performance and less battery life after the oct 2018 update.

Did any one notice this bug after the October security update.
The phone drop some frames sometimes and is slower in general with a poor battery performance after this update.
I noticed that Play services consume a lot of battery (10% sometimes) and I don't know what to do.

I prefer the pixel's os but I think google dont care about the security updates quality anymore they have a lot of bugs that they take a while to fix.
I prefer that as well but bugs are taking 3 to 4 updates to fix and that too from a company who has created Android

I had frame drops after June update. Then the bottom speaker was ruined, so sent the unit for repair. I also mentioned that the software was lagging.
I got a reflashed device, since then performance is buttery smooth.. Absolutely no frame drops since then (15 days now)
Factory reset will not help at all with frame drops. No point doing that. A reflash has fixed it for me ?
October update has reduced battery life slightly

Battery is the same for me but performance comes with some stutters using the app switcher, or when opening Android messages from the notification area. I can see the big drops in frames. Most likely a software issue. I'm waiting on that pixel 4 with the A13 bionic chip lol

Doggy performance with the latest update. Can't root (Verizon), or I'd go a different route. I still think manufacturers slow their devices on purpose to encourage people to upgrade...
Google Play Services is eating up my battery like Kim Kardashian eat d***s. 88% is consumed by Play Services as per battery start s. I'm travelling right now, and this is not funny. I did a clean install, I disabled location and scans ... I was getting 9+ hours SOT easy and now it's like 3 hours maybe with location turned off.

I'd recommend resetting play services and re-entering account and syncing. This can be a common issue with account syncing.

If you are rooted with Magisk, install one of the Google Play Services "doze" modules, go to phone Settings > Security & location > Advanced/Device admin apps and disable any Google-related app like FInd My Device, Google Pay, etc. Reboot. Then go to Settings > Apps & notifications > See all apps > Google Play Services > Battery. It should now be optimized.

The latest beta of what? Android 9 has been brilliant for me on battery, from the beta programme to the latest security update. The Adaptive battery feature took my phone from over a day to nearly 2 days. Maybe a factory reset to clear the play services?

Beta of Google play services. I'm seeing this behavior from September maybe. Of course, through beta version of Pie or until September I was enjoying 2 days easy. It's a recent thing. Tried everything. That includes clean flash.
I'm pretty sure the problem is legit. I'm an advanced user. I'm not using root anymore because of security reasons as I work for one of the biggest companies in investments sector, but battery never had been a problem without root. Rather, I'd have location on all time, background wifi scan, find my device etc.

Switching to beta won't make any difference. I know because I've been on GPS beta channel for months, and the beta has never been permitted to doze on Android Pie. On Oreo, you could get GPS doze with Magisk modules, or by manually editing system xml files. However, both methods require root.
I understand some people can't/won't root their phones for various reasons. But without root, GPS is immune to doze hacks.

Yes Same here with respect to extreme battery drain. I plunged head first into this update. I never learn from the past.
I had to buy a new phone yesterday. It was literally unworkable. Running an app in the background would just not work. Nothing is better than your navigation stopping and you not noticing.
Does anyone know how to roll back?
