Any radio (LTE) band issues using G935F on T-Mobile usa? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Just wondering if there are any radio LTE band issues using a G935f on tmobile usa. I know the g935t supports 4x4 MIMO as well as some specific Tmobile supported radio bands, wanted to know if using the Exynos G935f international version would have any problems or missing bands since I'd be primarily using Tmobile usa.

I never considered the WiFi calling I use that a lot. I guess now there is a decision to make....

Band 12 is not usable by default as it's used only for VOLTE and the 935F doesn't support T-mobile VOLTE out of the box. If you are rooted, you can download a CSC selection tool which adds VOLTE/Wifi calling/Band 12 support. Otherwise, the phone works great on T-mobile (I use a 930F rooted on t-mobile and have never lacked signal where my wife's Iphone 7 or 930T had a signal)

Can I ask a question to you nice folks who've replied... This "upgrade" from a T-Mobile branded G935T to international G935F is going to cost me about $100 usd give or take... The sole purpose is for real root access... Is it worth it? Or should I just wait and jump on a newer device?
The reviews of the S8 are great, but over all it seems more like a skin change than anything else (besides the screen of course)

Does the S7 edge dual sim work with sprint?

Does anybody know if the Hong Kong s7 edge will work on sprint? It is cdma and lte and I'm aware that the cdma bands aren't all there sprint uses 800mhz and 1900mhz but the hong kong s7 is only 800mhz compatible but I could live with it in exchange for root. The lte matches and the hk version has more bands too. If not than my only choice is to jump ship to another carrier. Any insight is much appreciated.
No, sprint doesn't allow you to bring unlocked devices unless is a nexus or an iPhone. And you need band 26 for lte

Any way to enable Band 3 for LTE?

I had to swap my SM-G930T for a SM-G930P (Sprint) —*I won't bore you with the why.
I've been using the T on Yoigo (Spain) which uses B3 for LTE, B1 for UTMS, and 1800 (DCS) for 3G.
But it looks like the Sprint version does NOT support LTE Band 3, so I will only have 3G (HSPA+, right?)
So I assume I'm going to get much slower speeds with 3G.
So is there any way to enable Band 3 on the Sprint version?

Are you on the stock sprint firmware or the "U" version.

Um, not sure ... I just opened the box and it immediately updated itself to baseband G930PVPU2APF2.
Is that what you mean?
The P version does officially support band 3. I used band 3 LTE in Europe on my SM-G930P but it took a lot of messing around with the settings. We tried so many different things to make it work that I am not sure exactly what it was that did the magic. I do remember that making it work did not involve turning on band 3 specifically though, it was other settings, one of which was network type. It seemed best to leave the network type on 'automatic'. Also, make sure you can add APNs. That's a requirement to make it work.
Then when I came back to the US I had all sorts of issues with Sprint's network from all the messing with the phone settings to make it work right overseas. I eventually fixed those by doing a 'profile update' which appeared to reset the phone back to Sprint's settings.
This week I flashed the U firmware then did the August update on my S7. Hopefully this will mean a simpler experience with the S7 overseas on future trips.
Yeah, try the U firmware

Hopefully, it will help. It won't trip Knox or void your warranty.

T-Mobile (G935T) or other variants running on AT&T

Hi,
I'm on AT&T and planning on buying an S7 Edge. I'm trying to look for a unit with a good price and don't care if it's a different variant but I'd like to know what I'd be missing by not getting the AT&T one (G935A):
1. If flashing the AT&T firmware on the T-Mobile variant (G935T) or any other (Verizon, Rogers, etc), will it work just like the AT&T one and will it activate all the LTE bands? or AT&T will still not recognize it as an AT&T one? any other AT&T feature that might be missing?
2.- Does the VoLTE and WIFI calling on AT&T works in any other S7 variant? I think I read is possible but root is needed.
Thanks!
I can verify that using the Verizon S7 and S7e works with AT&T firmware. All AT&T LTE bands including VoLTE and WiFi calling work. No root required.
I have tmobile S7e that I flashed the AT&T firmware on. It's running great and works great.

Will an unlocked US model have VoLTE, Band 12 and WiFi Calling on T-Mobile?

I am planning to get Galaxy S8 US Unlocked from Samsung's website, but wanted to check first if it will support T-Mobile's features such as: WiFi Calling, VoLTE and Band 12. I can of course get T-Mobile variant, but unlocked one is at least $100 cheaper.

I am on t-mobile and everything works perfectly
*#2263#* shows all bands - just uncheck all LTE bands, and the just check the four that T-mobile LTE uses: 2,4,12 & 66

So there is no point in buying T-Mobile variant over the US unlocked model?

Good to know! Will do once I get the device.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I have the exynos version unlocked, rooted, running rennovate ice 2.0 and I can't connect to band 12. I know it's in my area and I believe the tower is using it for carrier aggregation but my phone shows: "CA:NONE, SC_NUM:0" when hitting *#0011# in the dialer. Additionally, I can put my sim into an external hotspot router and get carrier aggregation no problem using band 2+12. Wifi calling and volte are showing to be active. I have the T-mobile CSC flashed as well using the CSC 1.0 utility.
When doing *#2263#, what should be selected under "band selection"? Mine is set to automatic.
EDIT - Nevermind, it is working fine. Must have been a temporary network thing yesterday! Band 12 rolling with no issues.

4.5G or 4G+ Axon7

Does Axon7 support 4.5G network? Does A2017 model support it too or just G and U? I've got the Chinese variant and my carrier provide 4.5G network but my phone always show 4G sign and not 4G+ or 4.5G? Is there some settings that should be set?( I've also got a S7 edge and that gets 4G+ network with the same sim card and Carrier.)
Yes a2017g

Mine is Chinese and both sims support just 4G. Although it has Cat6 but I guess the problem is with Carrier Aggregation.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/LTE_Advanced
So no 4G advanced LTE for the Chinese variant?
There is no 4.5 G for Axon 7, so we better wait for some time.

You mean it doesn't support LTE+ or 4G+?
These guys have experienced it :
https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.reddit.com/r/Axon7/comments/6z0xv0/lte_advanced_and_the_axon_7/
I see LTE+ on LineageOS sometimes and I speedtest for 105/50mbps
In Poland i have 4G+ (record in speedtest: 142mbit DL).
Axon 7 G-model from Amazon.de.
But no voLTE and no HD voice at this Time.
The Axon7 doesn't show 4G+ directly in notification bar in order to see if you're really getting LTE+, you'd better install Network Cell Info.
Just getting 4G
Mine shows 4G+ on either SIM here in Australia with A2017G.
Maybe the issue is with my carrier. I'm on the latest Chinese stock ROM and not rooted or unlocked and still no sign of LTE+.
But my s7 edge is receiving LTE+ with the same carrier.
Although Axon7 has Cat6 but can't aggregate two or more bands but s7 edge has 3CA according to GSMArena.
https://m.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=7945&idPhone2=8067
I have the European version and yes it has 4G+ but the problem is the axon 7 only supports LTE-CA 1800+2600mHZ but by carrier uses 800+2600mHz, so i can't use it.

I don't know exactly but I think my carrier uses 1800+2600
I just saw 4g+ in my unit today when I travelled to the Manila. Chinese v2.0.0b13 stock rom.
It seems carrier/cellsite specific since I don't get this signal in my place. Just regular 4g there..
So definitely something wrong with my Carrier.

So my carrier supports 4g+ and has both 1800 and 2600 frequencies but I haven't seen any sign of 4g+ yet even when my antenna is full. Some guys say you should get really close to a transmitter to get 4g+ with Axon7 but I don't know where my carrier's transmitters are. Still really confused. It's so disappointing for my Axon7 'cause I 'm easily getting 4g+ out of my S7 edge from the same Carrier.
Guys look what I've found on Chinese ZTE website, info for Axon 7(A2017).
It says only the main sim card slot supports 4G+!!!
Can anyone confirm this?
What about the A2017U and A2017G models???does only the main slot support 4G+ ?(mention your Axon7's model too)
http://www.ztedevice.com.cn/product/smart-phone/AXON-7
I run dual SIMs in my A2017G on Australian B04 Nougat and either of them can get 4G+. You can only run it on one at a time though.
I might update to the German B08 and see if VoLTE can work but not expecting it to here in Australia.
