Hold pwr + vol down together for 5 sec or more.
After phone off, go into recovery mode. Clear cache / dav. Reboot. Btw, better if you go directly to that rom thread for help

with no load being drawn in stand-by mode at least 4-5 days.
Did you try smart switch\s emergency initialization feature that might restore your phone. It seems to by-pass alot of issues in restoring the phone.

Can't say. If it is stuck on some process which may drain it faster. I would say try everything you can in the meantime. Just don't charge it.
Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

@cross_312
This happened due to a bad kernel or a non coresponding flash of the kernel.
Like @mashardpro said earlier, press home+power+volume down untill the phone goes to download mode.
It may take more than 10 seconds.
After you enter in download mode press volume up so the phone will restart and immediately press home+power+volume up to enter recovery.
Wipe dalvik and cache and flash another kernel corresponding to your device and rom

Stuck in loop

I recently flashed a rom, but forgot to clear the data, now im stuck in a boot loop, the google boot logo pops up then restarts and loops over and over i cant get into the recovery screen with the volume/power buttons, any idea what i need to do?
Hold power button down for 15 seconds. At that point the phone should be completely off. Now hold the power and the volume down and you should get you into recovery

press and hold the power button for at least ten-15 seconds if it goes off then push the vol down and button at the same time when the lg logo pops up release both buttons and immediately press them both again and you should get back into recovery it might take you a few goes but it should do it - if that doesn't do it try above youll get there in the end

Phone wont turn on help!!!!!!

So i tried to flash my rom (aeon v3) using twrp. So i put the zip on my phone and i tried to install, it said it was successful, i wiped all the necessary stuff as well then i did reboot system, and now my phone is useless. It wont really turn on, when i press the power button i have to hold it for the screen to even turn on and it does for literally a second to the LG symbol, and turns back off, the screen is somewhat on...i can see the backlighting but its very dim and theres nothing on the screen, what happened? i followed all the procedures it looked to be going well now i cant even use my phone, and i tried pressing the power and volume down but that only brings up the lg symbol for a sec then turns back off...and my phone was 90% charged when i did this. please can anyone help me??? My phone is useless now...i need my phone to work!!! Does anyone on here know how to fix this, has this ever happened to anyone??? Please provide any help if you can its all appreciated!!!

Be sure to turn of the phone completly by holding the power button untill it starts to reboot. You will see the lg logo for a short while. After that do the volume down + power button. When you see the lg logo let go and press (and hold) volume down and power button again. Now you should be prompt to press the power button three times to reset the phone. This will take you to the recovery and let you restor your backup if you have made one.
Hope this will help you.
I ran into this same problem not too long ago. The best way to get your phone back working is trying to get into download mode and reflashing pure stock.
Just hold down the power button, even when it tries to boot up. Keep holding after the second vibration where it tries to boot up again. Then, if the screen stays black, your phone is fully off.
Then follow the instructions on here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
I had the exact problem and I installed LGMobile Support Tool. It will flash stock recovery + stock system. Once the program complete you'll need to hold the volume down + power button. When you see the lg logo let go and press (and hold) volume down and power button again. Now you should be prompt to press the power button three times to reset the phone. Then will start up CWM recovery and will return you to stock.

Hmm i did the button procedure, and took me to twrp i installed recovery but now it says i only have 11gb of internal storage, compared to 19 i had before. I saw that people who used the lg launcher to install recovery to their phone in download mode had the same issue. Have you expereinced this? Does it really mean i only have 11gb? Mine was the 32gb version

Most likely your phone has the D80010o firmware, downgrade to D80010d and you shouldn't have that issue you've described in the OP.
When downgrading, follow the instructions from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476

Software Update Bricked Phone

After the Verizon HTC 10 update to the 1.19.605.22 software my HTC 10 went into a reboot loop where it would reboot every few minutes. After 4-5 of these reboots the phone went black and won't turn on. It was fully charged during the update and showed over 80% after it shut down for good. The phone hasn't been rooted and has very few apps installed. Anyone else have problems after the update that's rolling out currently? Since the phone won't turn on I can't reset it.
the same thing happened to me and i have no idea how to fix it. i tried recovery mode and did a factory reset. after the reset and clear cache i click on reboot and it will stay locked in the htc screen. someone please help
Have you tried flashing a ruu if available? That usually solves most bricks.
I should hopefully be able to post a solution to these in the next day or so.

You did already try charging it up for an hour or two and then unplugging and holding vol up and power for 30 seconds right?

Is there a link or instructions on how to attempt access to recovery mode? I had to do that with our old M8, but not sure what to do as the 10 won't reboot or power on currently.

Yes, it was about 80% when it first died and had it on the charger overnight. I will try again with holding the power and volume up and see what happens.
Volume up and power button didn't work. Still nothing coming on but the red LED stays on at all times.
Ok, figured out I needed to do Volume down and power button to get into recovery mode. I will see if I can find the Verizon ruu and use that to try and fix things.

What version does your download screen say it's on? Power and volume down (release power but keep holding volume down) gets you into download mode.
Sent from my HTC6545LVW using Tapatalk
HTC had me get into recovery mode and wipe the cache. That didn't solve the problem. The phone went back to the reboot loop. Next they were going to have me do the same thing but this time do a total reset. If that didn't work HTC wan't me to send them the phone for repair. I chose not to do this since my Verizon store took care of me and is sending me a new phone.

Same exact issue. Went into verizon and they sent me a new phone, no charge. they said it was a Manufacture defect so it was covered.
Mine happened when I was using it froze then just shut off. Couldn't get anything to boot except for the HTC splash screen and it would stay there until it overheated.
The recovery mode you get to by pressing PWR+VOLDOWN+VOL UP was the only thing I could get to. None of the options worked all brought me to splash screen or bootloop

Are you sure you are flashing the correct firmware? Download the latest one and try again.
Honestly it could just be a busted battery instead causing this issue, had this happen before for a client on a s6.
If you already tried flashing SM-G935FD firmware with CSC file which makes the phone automatically do a wipe data / factory reset in recovery mode then you probably have an hardware issue instead.

I think so. After a night powered on (since i couldn't turn it off) i plugged the wall charger and the blue installing system update screen appeared and the phone soon rebooted after ten times like these the blue screen disappeared. How can i check the battery life to decide if it is the responsable? I've measured the absorption of the phone with his stock charger, it is 0.49 ampere does it mean something?

Random reboots and now black screen

Hey guys my wife's S7 edge (SM-G935W8, Canadian variant) started rebooting and boot looping for a few days until it suddenly rebooted and stayed on with a black screen and the notification LED stayed blue until the battery died. Even holding home, power and volume down didn't do anything...
The phone was never rooted and completely stock. I just tried reinstalling stock firmware with Odin and everything went well as I got a pass but it still won't boot and gets stuck with black screen and blue LED.
Does this sound like a dead phone? I can't get into stock recovery, only download mode once the battery dies.
Just wondering if it's fixable.
Thanks

You can enter download mode right ?
why don't you try installing TWRP recovery with ODIN
Go to TWRP website... and find your device
download .img.tar file
open odin and insert this file in AP tab and in the option tab (disable "auto reboot" )
( plug your phone via usb to your PC.)
on the log it will show (added)
hit start
once installed...press and hold vol down + home +power key (while it restarts) press and hold vol up + home+power key
You will now enter TWRP Recovery...swipe to allow modifications
wipe - > advanced wipe -> except sd card...select everything and wipe them (all your data will be gone)
now install any custom rom from this site..

My S7 edge is also having similar issue. It just died 4 days ago at 5 percent battery and red LED kept blinking. I tried to hard reboot using Power + Vol Down, it didn't work. I couldn't get into the Download mode either. It doesn't charge when connected to the charger, not detected on any computer as well. Any thoughts?

I plugged it in last night, after the battery was completely drained. It's been a week since the issue.
It was fine till this morning. I inserted the SIM cards and then connected to the laptop. I thought I would backup the data using smart switch before doing a factory reset. The backup went fine till 75% and then boom again turned off. This time there's a lot of battery left, and I might have to wait 4-5 days before it can be drained completely. But I'm now hopeful that it'll eventually turn on and when it does I'll immediately do a factory reset before doing anything else. I'm suspecting that a rogue app might be causing it. This time it might have happened while that app is being backed up. The LED is constant Red this time indicating the state it was connected to the laptop at the time of incident.
It turned on again last night when I connected the charger. It was showing the charging symbol. After 5-6 minutes of charge I tried to hold Vol - + Power buttons briefly to reset the device and it went off again. It's lying like a brick currently.
No sign of life again!
