Camera Sensor / LCD in Redmi 4 Prime - Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime Questions & Answers

Could anyone check LCD screen vendor and what camera sensor is used in Redmi 4 Prime? Also if there are different variants (with different vendors used like in mi4c for example)

Does it possible to modify the camera?

It looks like the s5 and the note 4 has the same size camera units. It's possible to put the note 4 module in the s5?
Not easily......If at all.
The cameras probably have different specs, may well be manufactured by different companies and almost certainly will require different software/drivers to make them work.......
In other words, camera modules are usually device specific and non interchangeable........

Redmi 4 prime PWM (screen flickering)

Hi all!
Does anybody know, if Xiaomi uses PWM (pulse-width modulation) in this model to manage screen brightness?
I really hate it - my eyes get very tired after using screen with PWM and I haven't found any review with this information so far.
Thank you!
even S7 use this
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/help/pulse-width-modulation-problem-t3477108
Yep, that's why I hate OLED displays. Samsung has found a way to build one, but hasn't found a proper way to manage its brightness.
Moreover, I created a similar thread in the S7 section: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/help/samsung-galaxy-s7-pwm-flickering-t3323284 You can see an oscillogram there. That's what I need, but for Redmi 4 prime.
Also, Redmi 4 prime has an IPS LCD screen (not OLED), which means it could have a non-PWM brightness management.
The predessecor Redmi 3 doesn't use PWM-Management as described in http://www.notebookcheck.com/Test-Xiaomi-Redmi-3-Smartphone.158664.0.html. Maybe it could be an advice about the technique of the display in the Redmi4.

Differences between two s8 models's

Hi, I'm about to buy a samsung galaxy s8, and I'm in front of two smartphones with two different strings,
One reports SM-G950F
And the other report SM-G950FV
What's the difference between the two strings?? Thank you.
P.S I'm Italian and i will use it in Italy.
What do you mean? That's just the model numbers to distinguish the s8 from the s8+. The s8+ has a larger display and larger battery that's the only difference.

g950fv is s8 not plus, s8 plus is g955fv (in that specific model)
the V in the model states VIOLET color

It seems like Nosense, The S8 that i'm talking about it's black! The store have also the Violet color and it have the same SM-G950FV String.
From what I saw, the FV variant is only being sold in Italia...
No more diferences between the two. I think all ROMS, Kernels, Rooting tecniques from the F are appliable on the FV too.

Not lavender as it is black, or did I miss something?

Hi
There are a lot of talk here about Lavender and violet, am I missing something or is it the color - Mine is black?
Where do I find root options when it is black and not Lavender, assuming we still talk about the color?
Lavender is the Xiaomi Redmi note 7, Violet is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro they have different socs, google about it.

Ok, mine is the 3/32GB Black Note 7 bought in Denmark it is MIUI Global 10.3.5 Stable 10.3.5.0(PFGEUXM) Model M1901F7G
So that makes it under Lavender code name?
XDA is the best source for the correct info on these things, google it yeah I could do that, though it would not always give me the correct info - tried flashing a phone with wrong ROM because of mistaken info of the net, later got it fixed with correct ROM.
My Nexus 5 was a mobile phone, not a shark. but they called it hammerhead here in XDA :silly: :cyclops:
Anyway to give you a serious answer, LAVENDER is Redmi Note 7's device code name. It does not refer to the color of your phone.

Yes, it's a lavender. The stock options are China, India and global. Probably global in your case.
This is a comparison from gsm arena, look at the differences, also I think they call Xiaomi Redmi Note 7's the one with the worst camera (12 MP, f/2.2, (wide), 1/2.9", 1.25µm, PDAF, front: 2 MP, f/2.4, depth sensor)

I can't complain about the camera, mine is the 48MP Samsung lens + 5MP on the back and 13MP on the front, and the photos it takes is much better than any other phone I have had before, even my Firefly mobile Intense Desire which had Sony camera.
The only issue I have is the Security App, which deletes my notes explained here(Solved now):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-7/help/problem-cleaner-t3949412/post79917763#post79917763
I don't like much of the software that it's included in miui, there is some in miui.eu and they take away the ads, so it's a little bit better there. I used AOEX in my kenzo, but lavender is still under a lot of development so I'm waiting to be a little bit more stable.

I know that for most official stock phones that is the case but custom ROMs are able to implement it with much issues so it is possible
Also MIUI 11 codes do have Ambient display feature irrespective of the device as i kind of enabled it in settings but does not work on display
