Low Bluetooth volume in your car or you BT earphones? a potential fix here - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Guides, News, & Discussion

Potential Fix #1
The Soundalive is causing problems at least in my (Jeep 2017 Cherokee) when I switched to radio even sirius xm was louder then youtube, spotify off my phone. So I downloaded another Equalizer app and turned on loudness enhancer and now it's working well.
I suppose you could use debloater to disable SoundAlive apk but it's actually pretty good to boost some bass. So this way I use both and they work well.
Took me like 30 minutes sitting in my car trying to figure it out lol. You can have a perfect equalizer combination just keep on tweaking
Potential Fix #2
#1 Purchase Package Disabler (1.49$)
#2 Disable Soundalive -- now any EQ app you use is your DEFAULT
#3 Whatever crap Soundalive is causing it won't be anymore.
Hope this helps!
my results. It appears if I tweak the Equalizer FX (app I use) to my liking on 50% volume it's loud like I want it to be.
So disabling SoundAlive fixes the issues.
My setup is as follows with Equalizer FX:
Equalizer: Enabled
Effects: Bass Boost (like somewhere around 20%)
Profiles Classical (I listen to EDM music)
now I can report I am very happy.
You can easily test if it's disabled by going to sound and notifications and seeing which EQ app opens first.

Equalizer FX. Which car you got if you don't me asking?
Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

Same car same issue and on top of that when I am connected and recive a call and I answer from the car I don't hear the other side but they can hear me. The solution that worked for me is to unpair and pair again. It works then I have to redo again every time. Appreciate any suggestions

With calling I actually don't have issues. Just low volume music.
Try the Equazlier FX and turn on the volume enhancer.
PS I also found out spotify has had issues for years with android and BT volume. So I'm gonna avoid Spotify and stick to music off youtube and other apps.

no odd volume issues with Ford Sync 3.

Bluetooth volume have always been too low for me in my car on all my Samsung devices (S6E, N7, S8+). I'd say the level is 1/2 to 2/3 of what it is with the auxiliary cable.
Can Equalizer FX be enabled on Bluetooth only? I'd like to boost the volume in my car using Bluetooth but not when using my headphones for instance.

I don't have an issue with my BT headphones though. But give it a try . It's system wide I think.

Guys I think I might have a fix for this.
I didn't try in my car but I will try on earphones soon with BT.

This... 110% this.
I just tried it... and tbh it's... OKAY but it's no Viper. I honestly refuse to use Package Disabler, because the last time I used a guide to disable stuff on my S7 Edge here from a trusted user, it caused an endless boot loop, so yeah.
I really REALLY hope the Verizon variant's can get Root or at the most, a permissive kernel without root, just for Viper.

Sammy seems to have gotten more lenient with the S8 so maybe we'll have PROPER root and not ENG Kernel garbage that we had on the S7 edge.
I've tried everything to make the eng root my edge good, but it never worked. It was always noticeably laggy.
The people that claimed to have stock or "better than stock" results, really didn't make a lick of sense to me.

New to Aural Maximizer 2 - eXtremeTweaks. Info coming soon.
Compatibility:
This mod will work on almost any device, and has been optimized to run on Jellybean, Kitkat, Lollipop, Marshmallow and Android N. I strongly recommend you to create a backup of your system, as it's difficult to make a audio mod that works for all and you may run into issues. I can assure you however, you will NOT get a hard brick via flashing this. However if something is to go wrong, i'm not responsible as per usual. You will also need at least 10MB free system space to flash this. Remember to give me a thanks if you enjoy this mod. And please do not ask if it works with my device, just test it yourself... Aural Maximizer 2 supports Nougat.
How to install?
Boot into your favorite recovery mount system and data then flash zip, it's as simple as that! If you experience issues try wiping your davlik/art cache and normal cache after install.

I think I got something in regards to JBL LiveStage. I'm using butterfly libs on insertcoin and it sounds good
Try this, I know it's sneakyghosts HK/BS switcher, but I repackaged it since I dont know how to make an update zip myself. Use it for switching to JBL only, I didnt modify the boomsound script to disable JBL or remove the extra stuff I put in. Some of the extra stagefright libs might be unnecessary, but I'll get to that on another day.

HK/JBL Hybrid Setup Instructions.
WARNING!!!
THIS MOD IS CURRENTLY ONLY AVAILABLE ON LOLLIPOP!!!
Please do not attempt this on marshmallow os.
First you need to flash jbl with adsp then hk without adsp, then the others in the order I said,
After you reboot extract the tfa files from the jbl zip located in system/etc/tfa inside the zip,
You also need the cal files for handset headphones and speakers from the zip system/etc then copy those into their respective folders in your rom and set permissions the same as the others,
After that open default.xml and locate support Harmon and change it to false and check just above it a few lines to make sure effect manager is set to 4 then reboot and you have hk/jbl enjoy.
Please be aware that some of these mods may no longer be available when on marshmallow roms so please make sure to backup!
I can assure you it's worth the effort.

You should definitely check out the eXtremeBeats and ASDPE Optimal version those 2 together sound absolutely amazing with great bass and sound separation. but I was extremely curious to know how Sound Explosion and Project Era sound together I was thinking about flashing those 2 before I flashed the 2 mods I listed but I thought Sound Explosion wouldn't work because it says its made for the HTC One M7.

Yes you can in fact I run the H/K Mod on my M8 because I mostly use Spotify for music and Clarify makes streamed music files uncompressed resulting in better sound from an app like Spotify or Songza.

I've done it with HK -> don't do it.
Flash Sound Explosion first to see what it's like on your phone (WITH A BACKUP). It's hit and miss

Sound explosion is really bad...doesn't matter if together with BoomSound or h/k...it more of a downgrade then upgrade...stock BoomSound or stock h/k is the best...now with era v20 and v4a it's good too...but next time IC is getting an updated doesn't matter if via svn or ota I will flash the Rom again and won't flash any other Sound mod anymore except if someone can modify the files and libs which are used by BoomSound and h/k...for now it's not possible to edit them
Asdpe optimal it's great you should give it a try honestly

tried it already, doesn't like it too..we just don't Need any soundmods at the Moment on m8 only if we will be able to edit/tweak the encrypted libs and files used by both, h/k and boomsound .. but for now even stock Sound is the best we can get on any device!
Asdpe sounds amazing for me much improvement over stock but I do have high end headphones I'm still on BoomSound atm but I will be testing hk at some point today stock has nice sound but adspe gives it more oomph and clarity to the top end as with v4a the highs seem to fade into the background a bit I like my music very much and atm I'm very happy with the sound on my phone I want that pleased with just BoomSound and v4a with era I am now

if it wouldn't make the Speakers bad i would still use adspe will sometime Flash it again... but only at the end of this week i think
Honestly it's worth it it doesn't negatively affect the speakers they sound fine and if you don't like the sound there are many irs files in vinardos thread that are awesome there are all kinds of irs to choose from so it shouldn't be too hard to test to find your ideal sound that's the magic of v4a
Btw I finally flashed hk and your right it is great it really wakes the music up and its definitely clearer than BoomSound i have covered the loss of bass with v4a and sonic blaster irs and it sounds great thanks for helping me decide to flash it I'm not sure about livestage though it sounds good with some songs but not so good with others I'm leaving it unchecked atm

Audio Quality (via headphones). Are you happy with it?

Hi Guys,
My last Samsung device was SGS2 , and i can't remember if i liked the way it sounded. But i definitely am not happy with how Note4 sound. My previous phones were Htc m7 and Iphone 5s, and i loved the way they sounded , especially my HTC.
Since HTC had a Snapdragon processor, i do believe they should sound similar due to similar DAC, or at least i hope devs can work on the equalizer , o port htc m7 sound?
It fells like my Htc Wildfire S sounds better lol  Samsung's sound is not rich , no bass , and if you turn the bass on in EQ then its not loud enough. or maybe i am just deaf .
If you have an EQ preset , while listening music in spotify it take a few second for EQ settings to get applied, so every time you skip a song the volume gets really HIGH and then EQ kicks in and the volume gets lower. Annoying.
Let me know what you think about it guys? Maybe there is a solution already? :good:

Well it's now in airplane mode.. Nothing else happened. Should the sound get better this way?
I found the whole sound calmed down a bit and wasn't as in your face, bit easier to listen to and timing improved. Still lots of amp noise though when listening loud.

Also what app are you using?
Don't get my note 4 till Friday buy have you tried using viper? You need to be rooted but it usally makes a big difference
I didn't know what setting to use with viper vfp non vfp yada
Noticed this myself, even using different earphones didn't make too much of a difference, the sound on my old LGG2 I think was largly better also snapdragon800.
While the sound output isn't as loud as my iphone 5, the sound is certainly very clean. Been listening to quite a bit of music (spotify extreme quality) with a trusty old pair of Klipsch s4i's and its been quite enjoyable. Music is plently loud on these headphones, but the output might be an issue without an amp for a more hungry pair of cans. Overall im very happy with the detail that is coming through. I'd even say music is a little more lively and not quite as flat as was playback on the iphone 5.
Did you try the Adapt Sound procedure? It helped my sound a lot and increased the volume too. I'm using the stock music app so then you can also use the built in eq in its settings (ie SoundAlive). Plenty of bass for me.
Sent from my SM-N910T using XDA Free mobile app
I find the mids and bass a little mashed together with not much separation and pretty distant from the ear. I use Westone 4R IEMs which are a dead neutral sound, my Galaxy S5 seemed to have the mIds and bass a bit more pronounced, with better separation. and clarity.

On a side note, I found that if I used the Adapt sound process (where I said I could every tone which means no tonal changes), that although it does raise the volume, there is a bug when making calls using the phones own earpiece if Adapt is enabled. The sound is weird...digital sounding. Fortunately you can turn off Adapt for voice calls while still leaving it on for music.
I'm actually quite enjoying the sound now but in at a bit of an advantage as the music player I'm using is running very low level code. Not managed to get the correct/good sound from power amp.

What variant do you have the qualcom? Only had the phone a day but I've seen a rom in the tmob n4 forum that has viper working. If he gives me permission I'll port it if not I'll loom at dropping a deodexed rooted Base for the 910f with a couple of mods in it. I've not really looked at much yet but there does seem to be a lot of development on the tmob forum, it's not going to be much work to get their version of twrp working on all qualcom variants

Android 7 V.S Android 6 in Real Life

Hi to every lucky body that get android 7 final.i made this topic to share your results in android 7 and compare with yours in android 6..like camera..battery..speed..tanx and hope to be usefull and active topic??????
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Well, it's a tiny bit snappier, and a tiny bit faster overall.
The battery is better; I get 3:45 to 4 hours SOT in auto brightness, full location services with wireless scanning, google now on, google cards on, hot word on from any screen... the full google experience, for short.
It's better than I had with a variety of mods and ROMs on Marshmallow.
I especially enjoy the new notification center. I can read numerous full messages and emails right from the notification slide. Quite awesome.
And I thank the gods of Google for removing the stupid enlarged tiles for Wireless and Bluetooth, the most annoying feature ever.
Battery is not bad for stock but I get the feeling with all mods and tweaks and kernels and such android M was a bit better...
But it would be unfair to compare those two as M has been worked on for a year now... N is fresh out of the box so let's wait and see how much battery can be improved.
Other than that N is very fluent and fast. Up to now also very stable and offers some important options that used to be mods some years ago.
Camera... And such... Did not really compare but would expect them to be similar...

I haven't tried N yet, but I was reading a comment on Slashdot that led me to believe, that it included something similar to CM13 privacy manager ? Is this true? Do you now get to choose what apps get access to? Can you block them from wireless, cellular data?
^ This feature alone made me upgrade the wife's and kids tablets from Nexus 7s to Nexus 7 (2013)s so I could put them on CM13.

No, but you can do that from Data Usage in Settings, in M as well.
I've been using it for 2 days now. The doze feature is way better than that of M. I've noticed certain performance boost in games like asphalt 8 as the game used to lag after thermal throttling was active in M.
The usage is very very smooth, feels very light. I mostly love the quick settings panel as because it looks and is well organised than the previous version. It's just an initial build and its quite stable. I would say I am impressed and good to go with 7.0.
Well this was my perspective.
I think charging while screen is on is improved. Can someone confirm?

Not entirely sure... NExus 5x has quite some struggle with charging when screen on.
Under M there was almost no charging when screen was on and you did some browsing...
Might be slightly better under N... though I havent tested it long enough to confirm... Charging basically stopped when you used your phone constantly and not just for writing a text under M...
Nope, seems same like before.

Edit: it actually seems better, I'm using my phone on charger for about 10mins, and ampere measures around 1100mAh.
On MM it wouldn't go to more than 300mAh while screen on.

I tested it while playing a game (8 ball pool, not a resource intensive app) and the percentage went up atleast 2 to 3 % in roughly 5-10 minutes. It seems that it is improved. But we still need someone to look through the kernel's code or run a reliable test!
I have it on my 5x since it dropped was on dp5 before that. Official seems smoother don't really use the 5x since I got the s7.
I'm actually seeing what seems to be worse battery performance. I've eliminated a few apps that were troublesome, but it looks like the battery is draining faster than on "M". I'm hoping that it's simply a problem with the crappy cell signal in my office - my connection bounces between 27 different towers and it's still crappy at best.
Atleast for me, I can confirm that charging while screen on is finally fixed. Hail hydra!
As previously stated, it feels a lot snappier and lighter being on Nougat as opposed to Marshmallow. Quick Settings are better overall, especially when you're able to add custom quick tiles via apps in the Play Store. Only complaint about the Quick Settings is that the Wifi and Bluetooth used to toggle on press, then open mini settings when you clicked the text. Now it just opens mini settings. I can get used to that, though.
Oh, and I still hate the white background in the settings app. Haven't found any Layers themes that work well yet. If anybody else finds one, let me know.

Important, there are sorta probs about Substratum and Android N, such as make sure you wont apply it to Chrome and Documents for example. You'd get instant force close. And if there's any other app like that, you need to make sure it is off the list to get themed.

RQ. explainedThis is software optimization aiming to correct audio output, not boost audio output. RQ - meaning refined quality. "Music is usually mixed with loudspeakers in mind, not headphones. As a result, headphone listening is often plagued by a distorted soundstage—instruments and voices may seem incorrectly placed and trapped inside your head, causing an unnatural listening experience that can result in listener fatigue." This is my preferred sound mod. I had to fiddle with A.R.I.S.E. too much, the convolvers caused audio sync issues, and I didn't enjoy the sound as much as I had hoped. XRA Q requires no fiddling, works out of the box, and sounds good when I'm watching shows or listening to music. Thank you! (Thanks submitted on multiple posts as well.) I plan to install V4A to increase loudness on occasion. With Q's support for DTS/Dolby, would it be feasible to decode DTS/Dolby streams? (I use Plex for playback.)
