Yes, I just flashed my "Verizon" s8 and it's now a "TMO" s8 with all TMO bands working.

I honestly don't have the device I sold mine so flash at your own risk bootloaders might be the same or just wait for other users to test worst case you will need to flash to original firmware .. just make sure you have a backup firmware if it fails at some point

Hi, I tried downloading this however all the links and mirrors result in an unexpected end of archive

Got it cheap on swappa. What's the difference? They are all the same hw, just different SW.

@MicroMod777 That's a very good question I was doing some test on it but I sold my S8 and S8+ for a good price ... I'm actually making it have to have adb by default without OEM enable meaning I'm able to remove google accounts of it don't tell me how I do it ... just wait couple of days unless somebody else is working on it already ...

If I flash from att to tmo, I still have to network unlock it while in att firmware. Is there a way to do that without a tmo sim card? Usually u cannot enter unlock code without a different carrier sim inserted

If you flash from ATT to TMob, is SIM unlocking even still necessary for it to detect a TMob SIM?

It's great to see the firmware is under 1GB in size! That means we'll be able to slim it down to maybe about 500mb way slimmed down!

That's why the DL was only 1GB. Its actually 2GB........theres goes my slim firmware dream lol
On another note, does TMO boot still have the awesome white screen you could morris code to outer space with and the TMO jingle that you can hear in outer space also? Its annoying as heck, when your working on your phone trying to be quiet and not light up the whole house when your phone boots.

Unlocked G930U on Verizon

I have seen where AT&T and Verizon users have flashed the unlocked firmware from the G930U on their devices. Is it possible to flash the Verizon firmware on the G930U?
Update! I took the plunge and installed the Verizon firmware with Odin and all is working well so far.

Interesting... I was wondering the same thing, thanks for answering, observed one post where a fellow flashed the 930U firmware on a verizon and indicated he's using it on Cricket without a problem (even activated LTE band 17). You would think it would give a model number miss match message and fail. Thanks for info...

I picked up the unlocked one because it was $10.00 cheaper to but out right and from Best Buy it had a $75.00 gift card. So I picked up a Gear Vr with it. I wanted Verizon WiFi calling and visual voice-mail which you cannot do with the unlocked one. Since the others can flash the unlocked firmware it mad3 since the unlocked could flash Verizon. Glad I did not create a pretty paper weight.
There's a whole thread on it in the edge forums, many have had success unfortunately for me I can't get data and phone calls working on mine so I had to go back to the Pe1 build.

Good to hear I've been wanting to give it a try again but haven't felt like sitting in front of the computer for two hours if it doesn't work. Maybe tomorrow or the next I'll give it a shot again.
Thanks for taking the plunge! I've been wondering if it was possible or not to flash the 930V software on my 930U. Good to know it is. Any idea if flashing this and taking Verizon OTAs could possibly lock down the phone in any way? Like make it impossible to go back to the 930U stock software at some point down the line if say I switch carriers or want to sell the phone. This is what is mainly keeping me from doing this as I'm not sure.

Should be able to flash back to 930u firmware via Odin. Worst case may need a newer version than the original 930u firmware.

There is no Verizon G930U firmware. The G930U has its own firmware with no carrier bloat. I installed the the G930V PE1 firmware for the Verizon version of the phone on my unlocked G930U. If you want the G930U unlocked firmware you can find it on the AT&T S7 forums. It will work on the G930V but you will loose WiFi calling and visual voice-mail.

Flashing T-Mobile Rom on Verizon S7 Edge

Hey guys. I just bought a Verizon S7 Edge today and I've read online I can convert it to a full T-Mobile version with wifi calling, get updates, etc. Is there a guide to do this anywhere? I searched, but couldn't find it.
I wouldnt recoomend it. Once you flash the T-Mobile rom, you cannot go back to Verizon due to different bootloader versions, which means you will lose your warranty.

Wouldn't you be able to flash back to Verizon after? I'd like the wifi calling and upcoming updates for better lte speeds on T-Mobile.

No you will not be able to flash back to Verizon because T-Mobile is on bootloader v3 and Verizon is on v2. You cannot go down versions. It's entirely possible, in fact it's exactly what I did but I do regret the move. I would recommend flashing the U firmware which is the US unlocked version of the s7e. That will unlock pretty much all of the bands and you should be able to get wifi calling and you can flash back to Verizon.

Thanks, do you think the u firmware will get the updates for the 4x4 mimi etc that are coming to T-Mobile shortly for faster speeds? Also, is it possible Verizon will eventually go to a v3 bootloader and thus be able to flash back again? Do you have a link to the guide to be able to flash the U firmware?

Yes 4x4 mimo should be twice as fast as Tmobile. There's a chance that Verizon and U will be updated to bl3 but there's no way to know. Honestly I would flash U and stick with it.

Hii,
Sorry for the questions, but it would be really nice if you could help me.
I recently got a s7 edge verizon model as it was way cheaper. I wanted your inputs on flashing either the unlocked or tmobile version. i understand that U version is better as there is chance to revert to verizon ROM.
Sorry i do not know certain basic things.
Does verizon model have all bands and just verizon did not open them up??
Do u get all bands on U version that tmobile uses once you flash with U-version
Can u get tmobile wifi calling HD voice features on the U-version
Any other advantages and disadvantages of either version?
other than the bootloader v2 vs v3.
will i get get updates with tmobile and what about samsung pay and android pay?
will samsung pay and android pay work on flashed Unlocked ROMS, i do not intend on rooting the phone.
If i flash the tmobile version will it be tmobile sim locked ??

AT&T & T-mobile now have the same bootloader version

*I originally posted this in the AT&T S7 forums unintentionally so posting here as well*
For those of you curious about running the T-mobile firmware on the AT&T version of the edge, it is now possible since they are now using the same bootloader version.
I have an AT&T S7 edge (SM-935A) and recently switched to T-mobile as my carrier. I had to unlock it first so I used the service from unlockunit. It took almost a day for the code but I was then able to pop my T-mobile SIM and sure enough, it worked. Surprisingly, WIFI calling even worked!
At this point, I really wanted to switch to the 935U firmware as I heard it has great battery life as all the carrier bloat is removed. Unfortunately, just before I switched, the recent September update from AT&T raised the bootloader to v4. I learned after the fact you have to disable the update service as it eventually will force you to update. Now I was stuck with the damn AT&T firmware!
I wanted to flash the 935U firmware but the bootloader was still at v2 and T-mobile, so I thought, was at v3. It might be helpful to have a sticky on this forum with the current bootloader versions as it took some time for me to research the following:
AT&T - v4
T-mobile - v4
Verison - v4
Sprint - v2?
Universal - v2
Yes, you read that right, T-mobile just released a new firmware (PIA) which raised their bootloader to v4! You can grab it here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G935T/
It's the one with the date of 2016-09-27. I used the prince odin version referenced in this thread for flashing as others failed and gave sha1 errors. http://forum.xda-developers.com/veri...g930v-t3411015
If you plan to do this please research how to flash with odin and remember to back everything up! Samsung Smart Switch is a great resource for this.
I've been running on the new T-mobile firmware for just a day but already like it better than AT&T's. I didn't even know AT&T disabled some features of the S7 edge that other carriers kept. Typical for the Deathstar. Can you sense my disdain for AT&T?
For example, with the T-mobile firmware, you can control Download booster (the ability to leverage wifi and LTE simultaneously!) This option was removed from the AT&T firmware. In addition, you can set a preference to WiFi calling. With the AT&T firmware, you have no control and it will only flip to WiFI when in a weak area. It just so happens where I live the AT&T signal is weak so I was always jumping back and forth between the two and it was frustrating not being able to control it. The only way to force WiFi calling is turn on airplane mode when in a fringe area and turn WiFI back on. I'm so glad I don't have to deal with that anymore.
I'm including some screenshots which show the current firmware running on my SM-935A.
Hopefully we'll see an update to the 935U bootloader to v4 which will allow a switch to that firmware.
Thanks for the info.

no sorry im not clear on what im asking lol. im on (U)firmware but i cant send mms and my ims is not registered. if i go back to (A)firmware everything works fine. so the question is first do you have an origianl att phone? and second if so when you flashed the u firm ware did your mms work or did you alter something to get mms working.
My question is if i remain on att and run the tmobile firmware will the wifi calling work?

Only thing not working is VOLte, Wifi Calling, and visual voicemail. lve been a nexus user so im used no biggie on them. Have you alter anything? Using any other messaging apk?

oh ok you arent rooted thats the big missing link lol , im rooted on att variant but have u firmware. sorry thought you were rooted and on u firmware.
So, it sounds like you're saying we can use ATT WIFI Calling after flashing the G930T firmware? Is there anything you lose from G930T? HD Calling for example? Anything else?
Edit: I said 930 because I followed a link here from the 930 forums - I assume it would be the same for the 935, but I'd like to know how it worked on the 935 too.
What are the benefits with the TMOBILE firmware?

It has been written elsewhere that AT&T requires 1) proprietary code [read: ATT ROM] and 2) AT&T-branded phones (IMEI they recognize, also includes some non-ATT such as iPhone/HTC) for advanced calling features to work.
I would bet that VoLTE, WiFi calling, video calling, advanced messaging, etc. do not work with the T-Mo ROM.
On the other hand T-Mo uses more standard VoLTE protocols, etc., so phones like Nexus 6P, 5X, etc. work with VoLTE and WiFi calling just fine on T-Mo.
A bit of history: Even people who got ATT-branded Nexus 6 do not get VoLTE because Google later standardized the N6 ROM therefore without ATT's evil code (and bloat).
ATT has quickly surpassed VZ as the new Evil Empire.

I used the prince odin version referenced in this thread for flashing as others failed and gave sha1 errors. http://forum.xda-developers.com/veri...g930v-t3411015

Where did you find the solution, I've tried a couple different versions of odin and no luck. Also, should I be using the "CSC" or "HOME_CSC" in the CSC box?
EDIT: Also figured it out. search for "Verizon S7 / S7 Edge [Root Guide] SM-G930V SM-G935V [NO KNOX TRIP]" in xda to find the correct ODIN version for this.
and the correct file to use in the CSC field is "CSC" even though ODIN says to use the "HOME_CSC"
Do I need to enable OEM unlock?

AT&T S7 Edge work on Sprint?

I have a chance to get a AT&T S7 Edge from someone. Will I be able to throw my Sim in it and use it on my Sprint account or no?

So I need to root it first before entering my Sim? Or can I leave it stock and just throw my Sim in?
No root. Just Odin stock without the sim

Cool. So after I flash Sprint stock fw, will Sprint recognize the meid of a Att phone?
It should with the sprint Sim. Worse case scenario, you would have to root and change it manually

Does the at&t phone have to be unlocked? Or do those phones come unlocked factory? Because this person is unsure if it's unlocked. They only used it on at&t
No.... All US carriers are locked

Ok. So I will have to get it unlocked before flashing the sprint firmware so it takes my Sim card?

I know but you mentioned echoes rom. That's a rom after rooting
Not the rom Itself, just the process to get to another carrier and back

Didn't see any procedures in the thread. Just instructions to root and flash the rom. Is there another thread or site?

It's on a Verizon base and this was the only way we could get it to work on Sprint
Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk
dude, sprint will NOT activate ANY phone unlocked or not. it isn't like a gsm where the sim card carries the network for phone calls. u can unlock a sprint phone and use it on a gsm carrier but not the other way around. the only way is to clone a esn from another sprint phone and patch it to the motherboard of the att phone. i would think it would be too much trouble to fool with. i have used sprint for 10 years prob i know how the network works

Root without a pc

Is this possible I've seen somethings on the Internet but don't know what to trust or what works

I find that this method is the best to root your device. Just select SM-G935F from the list and follow the instructions.

I did this when I first got the Snapdragon S7 Edge and it worked but bugs, and plus, if I can't use Samsung Pay and Samsung Health, then this is pointless to root. I reflashed to default firmware, and then I used T-mobile Unlock app and unlocked sim on phone, then I flashed the Unlocked firmware from Sammobile (TMK) onto the phone. Now I do not have T-mobile bloat and boot. I also get OTA updates 2 weeks ahead of normal T-mobile updates. So this root is not good to me. Plus, Oreo is just any day now with OTA, and I am willing to be a little more patient.
