Currently there is no root for any G6 yet. So far the only model with unlocked bootloader is T-MOBILE version and they don't even have root yet as T-Mobile disabled the fastboot commands needed to flash TWRP and SuperSU. Just give it some time, this phone just recently got released.

Any news as of yet?

There won't be any news.
There is no developer trying to root this phone.
There are two versions that have unlockable bootloaders.
Since there are versions that can be bought outright with custom recovery and root capability, the developers are focused on ROMS.
THE Best alternative is to sell what you have and buy the unlocked international version.

At the moment you can not unlock the bootloader... you can root it...and from the reading up on it I did it doesn't look like the unlock will come soon either... I went through the same thing I feel for you ... best of luck...

Hmm...
So is it just the RAZR M XT907 that got this update? Or did the XT926 get the same thing? My thread I linked was for both, though I only had an XT926 to play with but as with all phones I unlock for customers I check for the most recent updates on the phone and I wasnt notified of any. I'm leaving the thread up because its useful to those who haven't taken it for the XT907, but could it go void because of the inability to downgrade the bootloader yet?

yes, you can reroot. since your bootloader is already unlocked, I'm assuming you have a custom recovery installed (TWRP or CWM)? if so, then you can flash supersu (search for it on XDA) via recovery.

Yep.

You ca not install update with root or custom recovery

You don't loose root flashing stock recovery. Been under stock recovery should allow the OTA. Been on 4.4.2 you can flash black any other recovery.

I bought mine from Telus when it first came out, then unlocked it and went to Koodo. Would I have trouble getting updates on that basis?

No there won't be an issue. And you don't have to unlock it to use on Koodo. Moto G sold by Koodo and Telus run on identical firmware.
