Any PC recognize my moto G4 - Moto G4 Questions & Answers

Hello, i'm having this problem for a few weeks now... When I connect my Moto G4 to any PC, windows doesn't recognize that a new device have been connected to it, and also in the phone I don't receive the notification to select the option of the USB usage, if it's MTP, PTP, only for charge, etc. Someone can help me with this? I don't know what to do, I already installed the moto drivers, and the adb universal drivers can't detect that my phone is connected via USB so I can't do anything about it as long I concern.
P.D.: My phone charges correctly and the USB cable (the original) is working because I used it with differents phones, and also tried with different ports. (I made a factory reset not too long ago). Thank you .
(I'm sorry for my bad english, is not my mother tongue)

When you charge the phone using the wall charger, does it say Turbopower on the lock screen? If it doesn't, it's possible that your cable is broken or a pin in the charging port on the phone is broken. Try another cable.

Yeah, it says turbo Charger when I connect it to the wall charger.

Did it ever work and just stopped working recently?
Try USB 2.0 ports(the black ones) on your computer instead of USB 3.0(the blue ones).

yes, was working before, that's why i don't know what happened, it stopped working like 3 weeks ago something like that, I already tried connecting the phone in all the usb ports that i have on my laptop and my desktop, i'm using two original usb cables, because my brother also have a moto g4, when he comes back from work i'm gonna try connecting his phone on my computers to see if both recognize his moto, but i think it's a problem of my moto.

Could be a broken pin in the USB port on the phone. Hope it's under warranty.

I ran into this issue recently. I think the answer is that you need to be an administrator level on the computer to see the phone as a drive on your computer.

No. I am facing same problem as the OP. Already an administrator. Tried in different laptops as well.

This was my issue on Windows 10. What version are you on?

Same. Windows 10.

generic micro usb cable only charges

bought generic micro usb cables from amazon and when i try to use as data transfer from computer running windows 7 it says device drivers not installed correctly but when i use original it works fine... i have tried 3 of the five i bought and they are all the same are the cables faulty or did samsung change their cable? anyone else having this problem?
i am running antoniomistrerrA note xxkka rom with 2.6.35.14-fm-gbda6637 kernal... thanks for the rtesponse
Throw the cables and buy new one. Some of the USB cables are not proper wired and wires are in bad quality.

Well that has happened for me, but since yesterday im not being able to transfer data even with de original usb cable. has this happened to anyone else?
There are some cables that are charge only. Can you post a link.
GALAXY NOTE
I'm using the original cable that came with the note but somehow only charges! it doesn't even do that usb sound when plugged, tried restarting the phone and KIES doesn't detect it either..
This is happening after yesterday the phone started saying it was having a charging/unplug LOOP (constantly vibrating) even with the cable off. this was fixed removing the battery :/
Edit 1#
i am also being unable to plug the phone via mass storage usb, it asks me to plug the usb cable and then nothing..
Edit 2#
So i confirm it's now fixed, i tried to unplug again the battery and also cleaned the usb connector of the phone with a toothbrush.. one of those fixed the problem. now I'm just crossing fingers it won't happen again :/

Windows won't recognize my SGS2

Hi,
I have for two days tried getting my PC to recognize my SGS2. With no luck. I want to ROOT my phone.
I am using Windows 7 64-bit and gingerbread v2.3.5
- USB-debugging is turned OFF.
- I have tried to format the SD-card, even used different SD-cards.
- I have tried using another PC, with no luck.
- Tried diffrent versions of Kies; 1.5, 2.0, and 2.1
- Tried diffrent versions of the Samsung Mobile driver; 1.3 and 1.4.8
- Tried using a different USB-cable (the one I'm using, is original and i can see that my phone is charging.)
- I have formatted the phone several times.
- I have tried typing *#7284# and changes the USB setting from Modem -> PDA
- Windows Drivers are up-to-date.
- I cannot see anything in the Device manager.
What else is there to do? Is something wrong with my phone?
Is there any APK, besides from Gingerbreak, that i can use to root my phone?
Cheers
Could you tried it in another PC with Windows XP?
When you plug it in to the USB port... Does the phone start to charge up?
Sounds like a hardware issue, i too have Windows 7 X64 on my laptop and no such problems.
Give a shot with USB debugging to ON.

I had the same problem.
This may sound stupid, but it does work, try another USB port.
I just plugged my USB cable into either one of the front USB ports on my PC (WinXP) and sometimes the phone connected (Debugging ON: phone was an external hard drive. Debugging OFF: phone connected to KIES) and other times it didn't. I tried toggling the Debugging, switching off and on the phone, changing USB cables, uninstalling KIES and then reinstalling KIES.
I finally noticed that the phone worked fine on the front left USB port and not on the front right. I have the same thing happening on my work's PC (only it was the front right port that worked). The rear USB ports didn't work.
I doubt that it is a problem with the PC operating system (I found out later that someone with a Mac had the same problem). It therefore must be with the phone's software recognising a connection with a computer and only wanting to connect through that initial connection port.

ive noticed this problem too of it only working with certain usb ports and not others on the same pc. Quite annoying when i was trying to use my phone to transfer some files from another computer and the phone wasnt picked up by the computer.
I think it may have something to do with using MTP rather than standard USB mass storage.
Never plug your phone or any other usb powered device into your front USB ports. most of them do not supply full power. As a matter of practice you should always plug your phone into a direct motherboard USB port on the back of your computer.
I had the same problem with my front ports several times on several computers. My first galaxy S1 would not work on my front port either. all problems were solved by plugging into the direct motherboard usb ports.
Why would you turn USB debugging off?

Do you have Administrator rights?
try installing drivers manually on your pc
and then plug the phone ( usb debugging off )
Try 32bit system
Try using a 32bit XP or 7 PC someone I know had the same problem their Win 7 never gave the problem when flashing or connection with their SGS2 for over 6 months. And just the other day they had a problem so they used a XP 32 bit PC connect ok flashed ok once the phone was rebooted they connect to their Win 7 64bit and the PC saw their handset. So what gives

I have plugged in many different phones and other devices that take their power from the Front USB ports on my PC. Power has never been a problem. Recognising a device can sometimes be a problem (but the same problem happens with the rear USB ports).
I regularly charge my SGSII via the Front USB port of my PC (both work and home). Quite a few of my workmates now do the same because a spare microUSB cable is much cheaper than a good mains charger and also they can back up their phone and transfer files as well.
This worked for me
1. Unplug the USB cable
2. On the cell phone, dial the following number: *#7284# Once the last # is hit, the PhoneUtil application is launched. Choose USB -> Modem and then USB -> PDA mode. The good mode should be PDA. Even if the mode is PDA, switch to Modem and then back to PDA.
3. Plug the USB cable.
Sometimes if you're not using the cord that came with the phone it won't recognize the phone
I had the same problem with my phone but I found the cord the phone came with and it solved the problem

Try turning off your antivirus first for drivers to install. Worked for me.

I have just installed SiyahKernel 2.3 and Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits did not recognize my SGS2.
What I did is turn on and then turn off the "USB debug" option. It was off at the beginning but... I did that just in case and...
That solved my problem.
Similar issue
My phone charges when plugged in but won't mount. It worked fine until about a month ago.
I'd similar problem.
My SGS2 couldn't be connected to PC (Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit) by USB cable, but it could be connected via Wi-Fi. I found out, that my, however original, USB cable was faulty (could only supply a juice from USB port ). When I used my wife's cable (she's got SGS2 too), everything was fine: my phone connected to PC, Kies v.2.1.0.11112_41 checked firmware and wanted to update, but couldn't do it, because battery was almost flat - I'm charging it now.
Will see tomorrow, however I was able to connect SGS2 to PC via USB cable
Still having the recognition problem, however you can get around it a number if ways. Use Kies wifi to get files to your phone. Use mobile Odin to flash.
Highly recommend to pay the $2 for pro version, that way it will stay rooted.

Phone is charging but isn't recognized.

Hello, I've recently bought LG G2 (d802). Everything was fine but since two days when I plug it into the PC, the phone charges and there is "slow charging" in the status bar. I've tried these things and nothing worked.
- used a new USB cable apart from the cable given the G2 box.
- used the OEM cable on another PC.
- uninstalled LG Mobile United drivers and reinstalled.
- uninstalled drivers and connected the phone, to no avail.
- different port
- cleaned mUSB port on the phone. (You know, just blowing air in to it )
- tried unchecking MTP, rechecking it. USB debugging off to on and vice versa.
And also I've rooted the phone and currently on Rayglobe 2.3. I'm worried if it's a hardware problem and since my warranty is void, am I screwed? Please help me.

If you charge through USB, it is normal for it to say Slow charging. Are you on Mac or Windows.
Sorry but what exactly is the problem you are experiencing? Your phone is charging isn't it?
The slow charge icon is pretty self explanatory, it's indicating that the power output from your source isn't strong enough to charge your 3000mAh at the normal desired rate; it's going to be a "slow charge".
This is normal when charging from a usb port on a computer, their power output isn't anything near that of your mains outlet. It is also the case with every phone you try to charge via your PC's usb port .. LG are just notifying you that it's going to be a slow charge.
I'm not sure if this will be the case with USB 2.0/3.0 connections but everyone will get that message if using a normal usb port.

There is a setting in the phone that lets you choose HOW to connect to your computer, for example "charge only" or "connect as an mtp device"

Well, I think my question wasn't clear. My PC is not recognizing the phone, no pop-up messages, no LG G2 drive. But the phone is charging. My question was not about the charging but my phone not being recognized by the PC.
I wanted to transfer Rayglobe ROM to my phone, but when I connected, there was no G2 drive. I'm on Windows 8.1 BTW.
Never used win8 so can't help you there, did you try different usb-ports?

Please help! Note 3 wont stay connected to comp via usb!!!

Hi guys, I have this really weird issue occurring. I have my note 3 connected to my computer via usb, but it does not stay connected. My computer keeps making a noise of new device connected, then disconnected. The phone connects, few secs later, disconnects. I have tried 3 different usb, 1 is the original,, different usb ports. It cant be the cable tho, cause it charges fine, and i wiggled it while charging. I let the drivers install when i first plugged the n3 in, so those should be good.
Any idea? could it be a ROM issue? Really need it to work, since I use tethering (

What rom are you using? And have you tried reinstalling drivers from samsung? http://www.theandroidsoul.com/galaxy-note-3-drivers-installation-guide/ and have you tried just using the micro USB cable (not the USB 3.0)
biggins 4.5, yea i tried those drivers, didnt try usb2.0 yet.
Its literally sitting here connecting, then disconnecting on and on, i have no idea, not even moving it

It could be the data pins in the cable/phone, the power pins would still let it charge even though there's still supposed to be energy going through the data pins when charging. And have you selected a different option when plugging it into the computer (from installer, media device, to camera) from the options that note 3 provides? (click the icon in the status bar when you plug it in)
yea i tried camera, its on installer by default i think and i tried mtp also, usb3.0 said it required airplane mod so i didnt try that. How could i check the pins>

Well it you look at the port and they're not bent or snapped then it isn't the pins. What about USB 2.0?
Will try 2.0 tomorrow, here is a pic of the pins, if you zoom in do they look ok?

What OS is your computer running? There are some USB issues with windows 8.1. I was having the same problem at times but there was a fix in optional updates that have seemed to clear things up for now. I think it's the download numbered...2914219. I'm not completely sure as I did a few weeks ago.
Just for the record, I have had trouble with certain cables in the past. Sometimes computer didn't like a long cable.
Pins are absolutely fine, only reason I even mentioned those was because one time a little kid plugged my streak 7 cord in upside down and jacked the female port to crap. And as TheAfroSamurai mentioned it might be your computer, I had trouble with a long cable with my kin 2. Different cable fixed it for me.
