How to display all notifications on lock screen? - LG G6 Questions and Answers

I've noticed when receiving multiple notifications it only displays the top two and the rest I need to unlock the phone to view.
Ideally I would like to have all notifications display on the lock screen visible like an iPhone (able to scroll and read them all) without having to unlock the screen.
Same goes for receiving more than one text message. The first one shows the text message and then after the second it shows 2 messages and I have to unlock the phone to read them.
Thanks

Under Settings > Notifications > Lock screen, do you have it set to "Show All Notifications"?

Yes I do.

Like right now,I have emails I can't view until I open the phone
It's just handy if I could view them all briefly

You can expand the notifications, like you do in the pull down notification bar.

Lock slider problem.

Having a problem with my HD2.
Like shown in several movies on youtube, you are suposed to be able to go directly from lock screen to new emails by pushing the slider and sliding over the E-mail notification.
When i have new emails and the screen is locked i see the number on the slider (representing number of new notifications) for about a sec, then the number disapears, and when pushing the slider noting happends, just like there was no new notification.
Also i dont see the appointments on the bottom in lock sreen.
Is there somewhere i must enable this functions or?
Thnx

minor irritation regarding message notifications.

When i get a message I get a notification in the notification bar, but when i open the text the notification stays until I click on the text bubble and the text is displayed on a black background. Is there anyway to change it so the notification disappears as soon as i open the text?
Thanks
Agree, this is annoying the hell out of me. One time I had 50 text messages (conversations from 7 people) and I had too many notifications. WTF is up with that. LOL
if u use back to get out of the msg app it will go away

True, but I'd prefer if the notification went away when I read the message, sometimes I read the message and go to the home screen and the notification is still there until I go back in the message app and click back.
use handcent messaging app instead. it works properly. Also use a custom home screen so you can set handcent as your main messaging program icon at the bottom.
hope that helps

You can do that without a custom homescreen too. When in the applications menu, press the menu key and then choose 'Edit'. You can move the apps in and out of the bottom bar just like you move other apps around, by holding your finger on them for a second and dragging them.
Nope, this doesn' work for me. I use Handcent and like I said, even after many text messages, all the notifications won't go away. Just have to "clear" all of em.
Very annoying indeed.
To clear multiple message notifications (per contact) you'd have to hit menu button -> More -> Discard
It's very annoying.
I'm looking for a workaround too. I really don't min this phone at all, coming from a Touch HD hehehe this is a major improvement (speed wise, screen wise, response wise even features are up there) but I do miss my custom energy cookie roms which brought my touch hd back from the dead a few times over the last year.

I also do this for the meantime I can start customizing my phone...
I think the best way to fix this is use Handsent SMS program and disable messaging notification.
so far the back button seems to be working lol (i used to press home)
Ever encounter if u receive a notification, the preview name and sender is different. Meaning if you go inbox and read the sms, its the correct sender. If its at the notification bar, it another name. Hmm. Wonder why.

What you should do is use SMS Popup to notify you of a new text message.
Without this is what I get when I get a sms.
1. SMS arrives, phone rings + vibrates or w/e it's set to.
2. I press home to turn on the screen, and I see a SMS notification, and a SMS notification on the lock screen.
3. I swipe the glass.
4. I scroll down the notification bar, or press launcherpro's SMS icon that has a badge that says 1 at this point in time.
5. I read the sms, at this point I have to...
6. Press back, this clears the notification in the top bar.
7. Go back to home screen, and click the launcherpro icon if I choose to use the notification bar.
The worst bit is that I could dismiss the SMS after reading it entirely in the drawer, or when I 'got' it and saw it displayed on the screen.
I'm pretty sure Samsung's SMS app is just broken and doesn't report intents properly when messages are still alive and read and such.
issue no longer there
I've tried to get FROYO going on my phone using the registry hack
unsuccessful but what I ended up with a rom that's fixed this sms notification issue when multiple sms's are received from the one contact.
Basically no BACK button or MENU -> MORE -> DISCARD
needed for the notifications to disappear. I'm only guessing that this is also going to be fixed with Android 2.2
My current version is:
Firmware 2.1-update1
Baseband I9000UGJH2
Kernel 2.6.29
Build ECLAIR.UGJH2

How to force displaying of "Notifications" screen

On the top title bar on the HD2 screen, it shows battery level, signal level, time ,ect.
At times it will also show an "email" icon, or and "SMS" icon to indicate that a new email or sms came in.
But, I only know to carefully tap the title bar on the middle to right side of the titlebar to then pop-up/display the full-screen notification app which more easily displays a verbose/detailed description of any notifications.
Does anyone know if there is a way to display this "Notification" screen via a shortcut instead of having to tediously tap the top title bar on the screen?
settings menu all settings sounds and notifications notifications tab in top select "message new email message" and tick show on screen.

I am sorry, I meant to say how can I call up the "nitification" master screen even if there are currently no notifications to announce.
In other words, it seems the left softkey on home screens for older ROMS use to say "Notifications", which did exactly what I am looking for (to call up that main notification screen). But it seems the new roms change this left softkey to "Action".
So, how can I manually call up the "Notification" screen even if there are no current notifications to display?

Separate notifications for each text message? Anyone else have an issue with this?

Hi All,
Long time Android user here with a galaxy s7 edge and loving it but one thing has been endlessly bothering me. I haven't been able to figure out how to separate text message notifications on the lock screen and in the notification panel into individual notifications for each message.
When I get one message, it's perfect. It shows the sender and a preview of the content, but if I get any more messages from the same sender, it switches to '2 new messages'. It's annoying because I have to unlock my phone anytime I get more than one message to see the content. I wish it would show the preview content of each message and if there were many messages then i could scroll through them on the lock screen as it works on an iPhone.
I use easy screen turn on (awesome feature btw) so it's very convenient when I can wave my hand over my device to wake it and just glance at my lockscreen to see my messages.
I've googled this issue for a while and didn't run across a solution. Some suggested I pull down the notification which expands it but that only happens if two separate people have texted me then it shows a preview of the latest message from each person..
Any suggestions? Is this an issue for anyone else? I was surprised by how few threads there were about this issue. Perhaps i just suck at google..

SMS Content on Lock Screen

I used to be able to see who SMS Texts were actually from on the lock screen with my S6. Now that I have the S8, it only shows that I have an SMS message and it won't show me who it's from unless I actually go into the Messages App? How do I make the sender visible on the lock screen?

Go to settings -> Lock screen and security -> Notifications -> make sure it's on , then go into that menu and make sure you do not have Hide content or notification icons only turned on - also make sure the toggle for all apps is turned on too
Also you have to be using the crappy stock Samsung Messages app, otherwise you won't get that little bubble notification or the edge screen light up. Was very annoyed to see both of those things disabled from working if you use Android Messages or any other app.

I went to Settings > Lock screen and security > Notifications (which is turned on) and then into that menu. In that menu I have the "Hide Content" toggle turned off - the "Notification icons only - Hide notification details and show only the icon" toggle turned off. The toggle for "All Apps" is On. But when I get a SMS message, it only shows "Messages" on the lock screen... not who it's actually from like it used to do with my Galaxy S6. What am I doing wrong?

Not anymore - Textra jsut updated last night and it has the option for Android heads up notification (ie Edge lighting) so you can choose which style.
Jsut tested and it works perfectly

Ever figure this out? I can't. I have done all of the above and gone into the message app and allowed for content to be displayed and gone into the always on display and allowed for content to be displayed. I am using the native message app. I still just get a message icon on my lock screen. No content. Super frustrating!

I has the same issue. I had googled a million times. Finally had a bright idea.... Go to setting > about phone > down at the bottom should say reset > reset all settings.
This doesn't erase your phone, only sets it back to default stiff like background, notifications, ringtones etc. BUT it finally shows the messages!
Any other suggestions on this? I've tried everything in this thread, including resetting my settings to default. Driving me nuts. After being on the pixel for the past 7 months until now, I've gotten very used to being able to see previews on the lock screen and replying from the lock screen too. I have all the appropriate settings checked that should be allowing me to see previews, but it doesn't. All I want is for the screen to briefly wake up when a text comes through, and to be able to preview it. Is this supposed to be possible on the S8?

SAME ISSUES HERE -- samsung s8/t-mobile
it seems as though the "show content" option for notifications has disappeared on the Samsung S8... I've tried everything i can think of and searched several boards and come up unsuccessful... the only options for notifications on a lock screen (at least for me - Samsung S8 on t-mobile) are: :hide content" or "do not show notifications".. both of which are not helpful when attempting to view the sender's name while hiding their actual text... HELP!
It works on textra under settings then customise notifications then at the bottom u will see privacy settings in there u can have it to show contact but hide message. Hope that's what you wanted. Cheers.

The only way I found to get to the lock screen and view/reply to text message is to double tap the home button first.
It's anoying additional step, but I'm trying to get used to it.

I am not sure if you have found a fix for this or not but.... Last week I accidentally factory reset my phone and lost everything. I still had my old phone and was able to transfer all that was there back over, but my screen stopped lighting up with new notifications. After spending the last hour trying to fix it I was successful!
Settings > Apps> Messages > gear icon above Force Stop > About Messages > update
I really hope this helps others.
