AOKP YouTube 1080p 60 fps doesnt work - LeEco Le Max 2 Guides, News, & Discussion

YouTube app doesn´t let me watch videos on 1080p and 60 fps, I only can choose until 720p and 60 fps. In mokke works perfectly. Any solution?
Thanks

I've seen others complain, but it works for me. I even get 1440p.

Gotcha, missed the 60 fps. I can confirm I have the same issue. I think when I was glancing at some of the commits to Lineage, I saw a file with the supported media profiles, so maybe it's a simple fix.

In Mokke and Aurel works 1080 and 60 fps. Could be the build.prop?

Yes, I did some more digging and it seems YouTube white-lists 60 fps by device id, so it's probably a difference in build.prop. Maybe someone can compare the build.prop.

Using arter97's youtube apk allows playback of 1080p60 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-patched-youtube-vp9-60fps-playback-t3418216)
youtube apk: http://arter97.com/browse/youtube/vp9/
you need to flash the installer in twrp as google has hardened the system against tinkering with its apps: http://arter97.com/browse/youtube/arter97-youtube-installer.zip
be sure to cancel auto-update for youtube in play store
Transformers UHD trailer plays fine in 1440p60

Uoooooo works!!!! Thank you so much!!

Also if you're in USA on Tmobile dont forget to go into your acct and turn off Binge, with it on you'll never get 60fps.

Can Xoom play Youtube 1080p or 720p videos ?

Can the Xoom play Youtube 1080p or 720p videos ? I'm not interested in 1080p or 720p movie or video files playback. I want to know if the Honeycomb Youtube app has the option to play 1080p or 720p videos. The last time I checked a Xoom and its Youtube app in the store, it just had a HQ option, I couldn't find any option to select 720 or 1080p's. Please suggest. I spend lot of time on Youtube and I need this feature. It is one of the critical features, that helps be decide to go for the Xoom or not. Thanks.
I believe once the final version of Flash 10.2 is out the Xoom should be able to play 720p Smooth.

Thanks for the reply. But, is there an option in the Youtube app to play 720p or 1080p ? I know there is a HQ option in the Youtube app, and I have that in my Android phone too. What I'm looking for, is the option to play 720p or 1080p videos within the Youtube app.
go to youtube app search 1080p they run great.

Well After you get Flash 10.2 you could always just go to Desktop web version of Youtube and Play a 720p video like that too see how performance is.
Ty the Jackass 3d 1080p trailer on the youtube app, really rocks.
Just an FYI hi def video doesnt work well over 3G. Use WiFi for best results

sorry but how do you know if its even playing in 1080p? its either HQ or not. just sayin..
i don't think its even necessary to run a 1080p clip on a 800p device.

It says its 1080p? Try this one:

can I rest my case?
720p is more than adequate.

did you really need to post 3x in a row? coulda been combined into one post.
anywho, we were discussing 1080p playback on Youtube, not a 1080p file being played natively on the xoom.
just because on the youtube title its marked as '1080p' doesn't necessarily mean its being played in 1080p. its most likely playing in 720p, can't confirm, but theres no point in playing a 1080p file on a 800p device. thats all im really trying to get at.
I'm pretty sure it can, set you browser agent to iPod, go to youtube website and search for 1080p, it will play any of those HTML5 streams in 1080p. Make sure you add
&fmt=37
At the end of the URL. That's youtube code for 1080p

If someone is connecting Xoom to a TV 1080p could be useful.

Just answering the OP jerk.
1080p runs great on mine
I can play 720p mp4 videos fine. I haven't test any 1080P.

im ppretty sure the youtupe app dowsres's stuff to 480p just like when you go to the browser version and full screen a video it goes to 480p. Even though the title says 1080p
Edit: I stand corrected it looks like 720 in the app.

[Q] Youtube QHD support in NOTE 4

although i have note 4 the youtube app limits the qulaity to 720p only without any 1080 or better resolution choices
first i uninstalled the updates and re install it again the 1080 appears the with the new update limitation returns
to 720p
off course i tried to open UHD video but the same res. 720p only
any suggestions ?
thanks
Some people are saying that youtube version 5.9 is able to play at 1080p. Sideload that version, then go to the play store and disable auto update for the youtube app
Sent from my SM-N910C using Tapatalk
You need to remove all updates, clean data and caches.. Reboot and install the new YouTube version and you will get 1080p. If you don't know how to do please send a PM and I will send to you the YouTube version with 1080p.
Well, i did the same by removing the newest YouTube app and removed the app data and caches and so on. And i did reboot the phone and then i installed YouTube v5.9.0.13 that gave me both 1080p and 1440p video resolution option.
Yes, i also disabled the auto-update of the YouTube app in Play Store.
But that fun lasted for 3 days, then they just disapeared without any reasons. So i might have to try this all over again to see if i get the 1080p and 1440p video resolutions back.
EDIT: It didn't work to install the YouTube v5.9.0.13 to get back the 1080p and 1440p resolution. So i'll guess we are stuck at 720p for the time being.
I did it three times
Forst one i get the 1080 then also suddenly it returnes to 720p
The other two times totaly failed
And 720p dominated
Any way it seems that we will wait

Grand prime never supported 720p video streaming on YouTube. It will not support it. Because the resolution Grand prime has is not enough for YouTube to play 720p videos.
If I remember you can still play maybe up to 1080p video by using a build.prop hack.

Recording 1080p video with 60fps?

Dear community,
our HTC U Ultra cannot record 1080p with 60fps by default. However, the snapdragon 821 is capable of recording fullhd with this framerate as other phones with this cpu proof.
Is there there any way or app to enable fullhd with 60fps?
I have tried several apps like Filmic Pro, Open Camera and cinema fv-5 already and none of these apps allow to enable 60 fps.
Is there another way?
Thank you.

The google camera ports support it!
Keep in mind that you need more light. So don't expect good results in low light situations.

Thx. Have you got Oreo? Was wondering if it was anything new for the cam app.
Thank you very much madphone for pointing me in the right direction The Google Camera App with HDR+ works perfect for my needs and produces beautiful 1080p60 videos!
For videos the viewfinder works also very smooth. For pictures the viewfinder is laggy, as mentioned in the linked thread.
Video files are always safed to the internal storage but as the ulra has at least 64gb of internal storage the videos can be manually copied to the sdcard from time to time.
btw: I am aslo still on android 7.0 at the moment with a european device.

well this sucks cuz this phones hardware is totally capable of 1080p 60 fps but for some ****ing reason HTC doesnt allow us !:crying:
alright so i have tried the google camera app and yes it record 1080p 30 fps even when i choose 60 fps but i did notice something really weird. when choose 60 fps the video size is always and i mean always way bigger than when i choose 30 fps i dont really know why this is the case and am really confused because i come out with 2 identical videos with the same frame rate at the same resolution and when is about more than 60% larger than the other! so i dont know howto explain that
one more thing is that it might actually be a hardware problem maybe the sensor isnt capable of 1080p 60 am just assuming as i dont really know any way if any of you guys found any thing that could help us out with this problem please let us know
and have a nice day
Maybe the metadata is just wrong. I will try later.

Netflix in 1080p

I've been using Netflix calibration videos to check the resolution of the videos played. I'm stuck in 720p, which explains why some scenes looks pretty bad.
Do any of you guys manage to play videos in 1080p ?
PS : I do have Widevine L1
