How Do I UnBoot Loop My S7 - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

Here is how i boot looped my phone, I rooted it by following this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039 and I rooted it successfully. The I needed to unroot my phone and tried following the unroot method on that thread. But I got an error with odin saying "FAIL! (AUTH)" and thought it was the version I was using. So i tried downloading a few different versions and tried the latest update for the s7 and it failed which boot looped my phone. And if i hold power + Volume Up + Home it says recovery booting.... and keeps doing that over and over. so that doesnt work. All i want to do at this point is get my phone unboot looped and unrooted If anybody can help. please do. BTW i have the SM-G930V

Try loading all 4 files in odin 3.12 as starting fresh. Qa4 should be available. Or look at some of the posts in the bs free thread and see if any of this workarounds work

Try getting the qa2 files off updato.com and flashing those. May be a bad dl that is causing your problem. If it flashed the tmo files with no issue, then that's the only thing i can think of

Yes, flash all those listed. It should fix your issue if all files are correct. If you have an issue with home csc, try the base csc and factory reset

Stuck on firmware upgrade encountered an issue restore

Please help!!! I tried rooting my device using this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...utmctr=(not provided)&__utmv=-&__utmk=1390275
and after clicking start in odin, the progress bar stopped moving halfway through. I didn't know what to do so i shut down my phone and when i started it back up, i got the message: Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in kies and try again.
Now im stuck on this screen but i can still go into downloading mode.
I am using t-mobile and my phone model is SM-900. I think the problem was because i used the wrong file in odin. Rather than using:SM-N900 (International Exynos) i used SM-N900T (T-Mobile US). Anyway to fix this or am i screwed? Please help.

Did you have any issues after root. I see some people are saying they have a reboot problem, but you didn't and you didn't disable knox. Just wanted to see what issues there might be after rooting.
Thanks in advance.

well i have rooted my tablet like 100 times before i was able to root without annoying reboots. And what i did is to leave Knox alone.. i mean not to disable knox when supersu asks me to. I have been using my tablet for weeks now and have not had a reboot since.

Those files are the extraction of the kies .zip download. They are flashable trough ODIN 3.09. New devices like note 3 firmware are also donloaded like that,,,,
here is a sample of how you should use those files...
QUESTIONS.
Hi.
So all those 4 files listed are used at once?...
How do you get them into Odin3?.. Do you link from this page or do you need to download them AND how do you do that?
Would it fix the blue screen of death?
I have tried the AT&T OTA lollipop that just came out and the pad won't update?..
Is it an AT&T update or is it a Samsung update..
Do I need the AT&T sim card installed for it to update as I'm using a different carrier for the LTE?
Updated back to stock ROM and still no OTA update.
Richard.
Locate the lollipop update try downloading it to your sd card and reboot in recovery. Tell it to update from the file on the sd card. This way works! I know because I have done it . The AT&T update doesn't work, now matter how many times I try it. I remember getting the file from Samsung updates. I hope this helps, couldn't find my source when I went looking . Best of luck to you...May your update go smoothly.

So just put that complete file on an mini SD card and it will find all the files it needs and update itself?
Does the new lollipop update remove the infamous AT&T blue screen of death problem?

Hi ,
I think you have latest build now (4.4.4) , yes ? If yes , you must to try to flash via Odin older firmware http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/34971/T537VVRU1ANE2_T537VVZW1ANE2_VZW/ from any source . Before flashing you must to do factory reset . Then to try Towelroot . Perhaps you must to try like here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58501194&postcount=245 . Then freeze or delete update service . If all will be fail , flash your last firmware again (for return back) .
Remember , you lost data when do factory reset .
You not afraid nothing .

And why exactly shouldn't they try that? That's exactly what they're doing here I even contacted the moderator to verify that. Plus I used that method to re-root after I had to Odin back to complete factory stock. I don't see what the problem is flashing just an older kernel, rooting using towelroot, and then flashing the most current kernel. That's exactly how my tablet is rooted and was on the most current firmware (OA2) before I flashed Cyanogenmod

A 910F with a Verizon mobo?
Might be tricky to flash.
You can access download mode?
Tried different cables / USB ports?
I really doubt that you can flash stock ROM from SD when phone is boot looping.
Maybe with terminal but you would have to flash TWRP for that first.

so i tried to root my samsung galaxy s7 edge sm-935u and it's stuck in reboot loop

So after I flashed the stock rom back on the phone is functioning good and everything seems to be in order. However when i try to root it it gives me this error in odin http://prntscr.com/g3sml0 . Does anyone know why this is happening to my SM-G935U ???
Thanks for the help in advance
I still get secure check fail in odin for no reason at all

It sounds like a bad download. I think you need the .tar file and not the tar.md5 file...
check and try again.

I've tried rooting SM-G935U multiple times. The ENG boot image flashes fine in Odin but once it boots into the OS it reboots every 45-60 seconds. I never get to flash the root.bat
I'm thinking something has definitely changed. Others aren't reporting quite the same struggle I'm experiencing (at least not to the extent I have.) I just got this phone 2 weeks back. It came with Nougat.
Though I don't get any errors in Odin. Are you using the modified version?

No i'm using the original one from sam's mobile. I'm also on nougat. I had the same issue the first time i tried to root, got stuck in a reboot loop so i had to flash original firmware. After that my phone is working as intended but i get this error in odin now. Is there another way to root this device or am i out of luck xD
By modified version do you mean if it's a t-mobile device "for example" with the U firmware flashed? in that case no it's the original SM-G935U device.

By modified I just meant the version of Odin youre using.
When you say you had to flash back to the original firmware, do you happen to know which version?

also i tried the modified version of odin as well as the latest. By now i've just given up. it's just not worth it imo

I hear ya. Long process only to have it not work.
But when I asked about the firmware I meant the one you successfully rooted last. The one you posted was the same one I tried. And like I said, eng boot flashed fine but the subsequent reboot loop made it impossible to run the root.bat
My only theories are either something was changed by samsung and/or the devices that previously had M installed ARE able to be rooted.
One thing Im certain of is the new firmware does not like that engineering boot img.
But Im still holding out hope for root...

It wasnt successful. It send me into a boot loop. Much like you. I couldn't run the root.bat file either. After that I just flashed original rom and that's it

Hey man i was wondering if you still want to root. here's what worked for me. https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...eres-how-rooted-nougat-s7-edge-g935t-t3567502 . This method works for the sm-g935u. Also xposed works as well
The only thing i could find that was wrong was that my device was a bit laggy after rooting it but i gave it some time and it's lag-free now. I'm glad i did this. The downside is there's no custom recovery but maybe we'll get one soon. Good luck

I just rooted it Sunday night but thanks for letting me know!:good:
If you could though, please tell me which version of xposed you flashed. Was it the purify os v87 sdk24 from 7/26?
