Replacement battery - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I wanna know if the high capacity claimed batteries like 5400mah battery (for 10 dollars)on aliexpress do really work or its just false marketing??
anyone having experience with these kinda batteries??

If they are the same physical size as the standard battery, then they are fake (and especially if they are $10). My advice: if at all possible stick to genuine Samsung battery purchased from Samsung or a carrier, or buy an Anker or PowerBear. An extended battery will always be physically bigger than the standard battery, which means your phone will need a custom sized back cover and will not fit in standard cases/covers. Any cheap battery will also likely perform very poorly.

Looking for Sprint Mogul/HTC Titan BIGGEST Batt's

Well as the title suggests im looking for the BIGGEST Batteries for the Sprint Mogul AKA HTC Titan...
Im looking for the biggest standard size (aka no extended door needed!) AND im also looking ror the biggest extended size... one will be for office/meetings the other will be for home/long trips!
The biggest standard i have found searching the forum/google (with LIVE links) is 1650mah and the biggest extended size i have found (again with only LIVE links) is 3200mah
HOWEVER I have found old dead links of ones that do 1800/1850/1900/1950 in standard size... nothing extra special for extended size however..
Anyone got any clues and or wanna throw me a life-line on this one before i take the plunge (i mean comeon... 1650mah is NOT really that much of a boost from stock 1500mah...)!!!
THANKS!

I personally snagged a cheap 2800mAh off Ebay ($18 shipped) for my main battery.
But anyways
Seidio 3500mAh Extended Battery with Door for Sprint Mogul - $69.95 @ http://www.moguldepot.com/seidio-3500mah-extended-battery-with-door/8A37A3718.htm
I think I recall seeing a 3600mAh somewhere, but I'd have to look more.
damn... 3500mah i was just looking at seidio's site... and thats what i meant in the first post... not 3200mah... damnit..
anyway.. while im looking at seidio's extended battery (more because they offer a case that fits the extended battery as well) i need a bigger standard size battery more... i use my phone so much at work i have to charge it at lunch... and it wouldn't look professional with that ugly extended batt...
thx tho...
Hey Kane my wife's Mogul original battery would barely last 7 to 8 hours with her heavy use. I got her the Seidio 3500 MAH battery. Now with her extended uses she can almost go 3 days with out charging! I also got her the rubberized case. I can also say if you have the normal rubberized case with the belt clip it will fit with the extended battery. I am about to get a 3500 battery for me as my Mogul barely last 7 hours with my use and I have to a cigarette adapter to recharge during the day, using blue tooth drains the batteries a lot too. I sent Seidio a Email as I noticed that the normal cases are colored. (Red, Blue and black!). They have not answered my Email yet. I'll call them in several days to see if the colors are available. I am sold on the larger battery. Yes it big and is heavy but well worth it. So I can watch more of my sling box and run the internet as much as I want to and run my blue too ear piece. I have 3 Emails accounts polling every 15 minutes for work so it keeps my phone filled with Emails.
Chuck
Not let down by the big battery!
haha.... im going to be getting the 3500mah batt and the extended case they have as well...
BUT im still looking for that 1850mah or 1900mah or 1950mah battery that i read about before i had my mogul... that DOESNT require the extended parts...
my co-worker has a mogul as well with the extended battery and it looks bulky as all hell when he pulls it out during a meeting... definitely do not want for work... home yes... work no..
I found this in the accessories section
Hopefully the link works http://www.mugenpowerbatterijen.nl/
The one you want is the HLI-6800 which is an 1800 standard size battery, I'd be interested if there was a bigger battery but in the standard size.
That mugenpower battery is the biggest I've heard of at 1800. From what I read it give you a nice boost in battery life, but don't expect miracles. It's about 20% higher capacity and hence gives you about a 20% increase in battery life. I'll be getting one eventually.
Mugen 3600mAh
Google these words:
Mogul 3600mah
You'll find the battery I use, a 3600mAh by Mugen Power. I've just finished my first 6 days with it. Its capacity seems to grow each day as it breaks in; for my usage pattern, it now drops an average of 3.5 percent per hour of use.
I've ordered the Seido rubber case that's designed for Seido's extended battery. Seido claims the case is for their extended battery only, but I don't believe it.
I have the Seidio 3500mAh Extended Battery in my xv6800......Its a monster.....I only go from 100% to 89% in a 12 hr period. Maybe even longer
This may not be a solution for you but for some uses its an inexpensive. Digital has a USB battery pack that holds 4 AA batteries ( rechargeable work fine ). It comes with a correct mini USB connector on a self retracting roll up coil and a standard usb male connector on the other end. The connector on the battery pack is a standard female USB. It has an on/off switch as well. Price: $9.99 @ WalMart not including batteries.

It sounds as though the Seido 3500 may well outlast my Mugen 3600. with my stock battery (1500mAh), my remaining capacity drops by an average of 5.5 to 6.5 percent per hour. With my Mugen 3600, it drops by about 3.5 percent per hour. That's not even double the 1500's capacity. However, my results are not scientific: I wouldn't be surprised if I use my 6800 more heavily when I know the Mugen will carry me through the day.
And I have two pieces of good news about hardware that works with the Mugen:
The Seido rubberized hard case for use with the Seido 3500mah batteyr will fit the Mugen...IF you remove the Mugen battery door. The Mugen door is worthless anyway; the latch won't latch.
The Mugen fits and charges perfectly in an aftermarket charger designed to charge an oversize 6800 battery outside of its case. I don't have photos handy, but the charger has three blue LEDs and charges at 450mA. I bought it on U.S. eBay for about $18 shipped.
Can you please post a link to the aftermarket charger?
is this meant to mean that the battery must be out of the phone to charge? I'm looking for a charger/cradle that will let me put the extended battery still IN the phone.
I've found a cradle, charges extra battery but not the mogul with the extended battery still in the phone.
I don't think having the battery out of the phone is useful if I need to use the phone as well or get a phone call.
external desktop charger....and a 3400mAh external battery
You're right, the battery must be OUT of the phone to be charged. I like this option because there are days when I forget to charge my 3600mAh battery and must use my stock 1500mah battery instead. With my DESKTOP CHARGER FOR HTC SPRINT MOGUL EXTENDED BATTERY (the words to the eBay link, which may now be expired), my 3600mAh battery can be charging while I'm using my 1500mAh.
The eBay listing was titled DESKTOP CHARGER FOR HTC SPRINT MOGUL EXTENDED BATTERY. The seller was perfectsell.
I just found another interesting option on eBay, titled NEW EXTERNAL EXTENDED BATTERY CHARGER FOR MOGUL 6800 . Sold by ebay seller nakedcellphone, it's a battery that connects to your 6800 via a USB cable. Personally, I'd find it awkward to use. I can see using it to charge my internal battery....but then, I'd rather just buy another battery.
In any event, Seido claims that its dock/cradle was specifically designed to accommodate a 6800 with a Seido 3500mAh battery installed.
3400mAh external battery
Aha: The 3400mAh battery is made by JavoEdge.
Anything bigger than 1650 in the STANDARD size got way too hot and was discontinued. 1650 is the biggest you will be able to find without going to the extended size with a custom backing.
NOOO SO GAY!!!
I wanted bigger then 1650 for standard size.. i was hoping for 1800mah or 1850 even... idgaf if it overheats... (thats what a charging cradle is for... that and one of 13 hardware mods... -kisses dremel- )

that seems kind of even more pointless than getting the extended battery since it makes it impossible to even put the phone in your pocket? lol...
i have a UTSTARCOM 2200mah, its not the biggest but it came from htc and im not even using it right now

Nevermind, apparently the cradle isn't even offered any more. Nice page, confusing AND misleading.
On the ebay site, they ONLY show pictures of iPhones, not really relevant nor is it anything new, it's a USB cable. THAT is what they consider an "extended" battery charger.
ROTFLMAO, do you work for the company or is it really as silly as it looks showing off an iPhone when the title on the page reads
NEW EXTERNAL EXTENDED BATTERY CHARGER FOR MOGUL 6800
Wait a second, may not even be an iPhone, definitely NOT a mogul.
Funny stuff, thanks for the laugh.
im gonna necro this as i cant find one of the Seidio battery. as anyone have an online store to sugest me ? Seidio themself are back order...

high capacity battery?? what vendor? what model? what capacity?

Hi everybody.
plz someone can help me to find a good battery in ebay for my kaiser?
I read about some batteries with high mA capacity but the same performance than the original battery, and some vendors and very bad quality batteries.
so I'm a little bit confused, I want a battery with better performance than the original, but with the same size (of preference) or not too big.
if someone can tell me about a good vendor and his best battery model I would be been thankful with him
PS: plz don't burn me by open this topic so vitiated.
Ps2: sorry about my english
I'm using this battery which is technically twice the capacity here:
http://www.superetrader.co.uk/htc-t...lacement-extended-battery-2700mah-p-3052.html
It comes with a new back casing because as you would expect it is literally twice the width of the original battery so it sticks out at the back. I haven't had any problem with the quality of the battery, but the casing does feel a little bit cheaper than the original.
This one comes with 12 months warranty, which you are unlikely to get on Ebay so bare that in mind when you do your purchase.

Technically, yes...but in normal use, does it actually work? Does the battery work longer?
ive used an incredibly similar style of battery for an older htc phone. I used a battery with twice the mah but didnt quite get twice the life. dont get me wrong, did the job at increasing the life pretty well and u get used to it sticking out a bit on the back
ps, if yer using a tight carry case then it may not fit in with an upgraded battery

that is exactly my question. in this case, which battery is better in weight/size/mAh/performance?
Im using the 1600 mah from www.seidio.com. Barely adds any weight compaired to OEM. Batt life for me is extended about 4-5 hrs. On OEM, with normal usage, I am down to 30% by 10pm (I charge overnight 12am-5am). With the 1600, I am about 45% at 10pm.
All my products from Seidio have been solid. I would stray away from batteries bought from ebay. I got lame ones several times when buying batts for other phones, cameras and devices.
I forgot to add that the 1600 does not need the extended back cover. It is the same dimensions of the OEM. Also the 1600's weight is, if anything less then the OEM. The metal bars/frame on the OEM battery is not there on the 1600. Some say that the metal bars are for reception. So far I have not noticed any reception decrease nor interference difference.

I live in Chile (southamerica) in the ass of the world.
the only easy-fast way to buy something is ebay
I am so lucky I guess, I never had a problem buying this way always looking the vendor feedback/reputation.
thanks by the advice

Why do you think that? Have you compared it to the other extended batteries (including the cheap ones on eBay)? As far as I can see, they're all pretty much the same.
As far as I understand, all the extended batteries have the problem where the Kaiser incorrectly reports the capacity and shuts off when they're half full.
Have you seen this post? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2097942&postcount=48
FWIW:
We have few older htc phones at home (ipaqs, tytn1, tytn2).
I bought extended batteries for ipaqs in the past - original from HP's store, and 2600mAh and 2400mAh "generics" from ebay.
Contrary to what I've been "warned" by some people, there was no problems whatsoever with any of the "generic" batteries - they didn't explode didn't damage my phones, nor didn't malfunction prematurely either.
The 2600mAh made in China lasted me 1yr 3mths before it started to act up, the 2400mAh Taiwan-make still works (its been 1yr 5mths now) - and both are no-brand cheap batteries from ebay, and the HP's expensive extended batt (IIRC it is mere 1800mAh only) still works too (almost 2yrs now).
The only problem I had with the extended batteries were their replacement back covers.
Except for HP's original one (of course) which came with 2 extra covers, the "generics" came with really shoddy and crappy covers, the China-make one was the worst: it was slightly out-of-specs, and it always felt somewhat loose (no, it never felt off nor unlatched itself but it had this "loose" feeling always, you could physically feel it moving a bit up and down when holding the phone, not much - maybe half a millimeter - but it was there).
The other Taiwan make battery's cover was perfect in its dimensions (no "loose" feeling) but then its color was few shades off of the original color... not really important detail (specially when you pay 3x less than for the "original") but I thought I should mention it too.
I have just ordered Mugen extended battery for my TyTN II.
When it arrives - and I won't forget - I'll post here about it.
****, I am really confused now
thanks justdave by the advise.
just get a ebay cheapo
http://cgi.ebay.com/EXTENDED-LIFE-B...ryZ20336QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
this is what I ordered. from this seller. battery cover fits perfectly. no wiggle. battery lasts all day without worry with heavy usage. talk, email push, web, im on it all day.
It does not report the battery meters correctly as with all extended batteries as noted. but this battery at 23 bucks shipped is the so much cheaper and I am betting the exact same cells as a seidio or muggen battery. they are all made in china anyways.
An alternative may be an external USB power pack. I use one of these and top up when my battery is going low. Saves the hassle of a larger phone, and all i need is a standard mini usb cable
http://www.proporta.com/F02/PPF02P05.php?t_id=2725&t_mode=des
I am also using the seidio extended life 1600ma battery, i used to charge my phone every night because id be down to like 20% after a day of use, now with the 1600 i go 2 days of use and charge it the 2nd night almost always. Also you retain the original battery cover. I dont know about you guys but this phone is dookie enough as is, i dont need a big battery that requires a new cover and makes my phone another 1/4 inch thicker. seidios a good buy imo, little pricey but ive been happy with its performance.
Extended Batteries
I have an Electrospan by Boxwave @ 2600mah and a Mugen 3000mah. Yes, I think the Mugen might be a little better, but what is interesting is the batteries are exactly the same size although the back covers are different. They do make the device thicker, but it still fits in most horizontal leather cases I have tried. Boxwave also sells an external battery pack that takes 4 AA batteries. The key is to minimize battery drain in the first place. If your data like connects to 3G, battery life goes away quickly vs. edge or GPRS. You can restrict this by using Bandswitch # www.commmgrpro.com (10 euros). Voice calls, screen brightness and push email can also contribute significantly to drain.

Replacement batteries are always faked

Watch out - all cheap replacement batteries are fake. They never have declared capacity neither capacity of a genuine batteries. It is easy do determine if given battery could possibly have capacity the same as original - just weight it. If it's weight is precisely the same as original one (with accuracy better then, say 0.2g), then it may have the same capacity. If it is lighter there is no chance it will have the same capacity.
Usually replacement batteries are 7-18% lighter and have significantly reduced capacity.
For example the last battery I have measured was BA800 replacement for Sony's Xperia V. Original battery weights 35.4g and is declared to have 1700mAh. Replacement bought at eBay was declared to have 1850mAh and weights 32.7g. I have charged to full both of them and then discharged to the same voltage 3.1V measuring U=f(I,t) using precise voltmeter and ammeter. So using precise method, not some software estimates. Original battery has 1698mAh and the replacement... 1453mAh. It is interesting to note, that eBay sellers offer golden replacements declared to have enormous 2680mAh capacity, and these batteries weight... guess... about 3g lighter, so they have similar capacity to the one I have measured. I guess only stickers differ
I have measured other replacement batteries too - two BST41 (Xperia 1), one BF5X (Motorola Defy). All were lighter and had reduced capacity.
The worst one was one of these BST41's. It was, as far as I remember, about 6g lighter and had aprox. 900mAh instead of 1500mAh.
So the point is - check battery capacity before you buy it. I always ask seller to tell me how much does the battery he sells weights. Is there a chance to get replacement having the same capacity as original? No. At least for the price, which is significantly lower. But there's a chance you won't buy a battery which is very bad. From my experience I can tell you that many sellers do measure weight of batteries they sell and give you the info (so you will be able to avoid some of the bad ones), some of them say they don't have a scale and some give you the weight of the original battery.
I guess it will work for some time. At some point sellers will get as many requests to weight batteries they sell that manufacturers will take care the batteries will weight the same. Of course they won't manufacture batteries of the same capacity. Surface and weight of the electrodes, one of the factors determining capacity, will still be reduced, only some ballast will be added.
Summary:
- all cheap replacement batteries are faked - have more or less reduced capacity when compared with original
- comparing battery weight with the weight of an genuine battery helps to determine by how much the replacement battery is faked
- don't expect to get a battery having more than ~85% capacity of the genuine battery - take care not to get much worse by checking replacement battery weight before you buy

QI receiver pins

I was looking at QI stuff online and discovered a couple things to share.
1) All S5 have the same size battery and QI connect. From looking at the products on Amazon, I thought there might be different ones (i9600), but they are all the same.
The old style QI had a 2 pin connector, the newer is 3. Both work with any S5. I found no indication there is a difference in operation, but I did not research in great detail.
2) Extended battery and QI together...
Option A:
There is one product that has it all, the Mugen 5900
http://www.mugenbattery.com/mugen-power-extended-5900mah-battery-for-samsung-galaxy-s5/
Cons:
Not water tight.
90 bucks
Option B:
Hack the QI to fit over a more reasonably priced extended battery.
The Anker 7500 http://www.anker.com/product/79ANS5-B75A
The ZeroLemon http://www.amazon.com/ZeroLemon®-7500mAh-Extended-Battery-Samsung/dp/B00KKRUG34
The Hyperion 5600 http://www.amazon.com/Hyperion-Extended-Capability-Compatible-Warranty/dp/B00RLRAJCE
At this time Anker and ZeroLemon do not have a 5600 range (2x).
Cons:
There are few cases to choose from.
No water tight cases (?)
Option C:
Use an extended battery that is the same size as a normal battery.
(My first choice, which I mentioned in another thread)
When it arrives and fails its advertised greatness of more battery power in less space, I'll go back to option B, unless I win the lotto, and go with option A, with gold plating, or whatever the 1% geeks do for phone fun, maybe something that levitates, or an implant with a neuro-optical display.

Possibly but more than likely a bigger battery will also be thicker which means a custom back.
Ah ok, just been researching online on eBay and found a seller selling a 4200mAh battery replacement for S8+ where the battery was covered in some gold coloured material. Seems really sketchy but if anyone wants to find it, just type in high capacity S8 plus internal battery in eBay.
