Hi.
Sorry for late answer, but I find the solution just two days ago.
A) Huawei recovery don't allow to flash rom wich version is minor that current recovery's version,
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65074910&postcount=18
>AND
B) each time the phone boot, the recovery is updated if stored version is old
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65212304&postcount=193
(antoher android device, but the function is the same foe Huawei)
The solution
1: enable USB debug & Unlock bootloader (erase all data's !!!!)
2: copy desired DLOAD rom version to SD card and put it in phone (not older than recovery you flash, see next)
3: flash old recovery via fastboot, and DON'T boot phone normally
4: boot into recovery (just flashed)
5: wipe cache and Dalvik
6: apply update from external sdcard
7: reboot to system, if recovery don't do it
Links to recovery and rom are at the first link, reference for recovery updates at the second one.
Regards
M.A.

[Q] Please help! Problem flashing ROM

Hi,
I am pretty new in this. Tried to flash my HD2 to an Android ROM today, but got stuck on the installation part from SD (install ZIP from SD).
When the HD2 is booting I get the CWM-based Recovery screen V4.0.1.4
When I select "install ZIP from sdcard" i select the ZIP on the sdcard.
Install starts and i get the screen "Have fun with DUNGPHP's ROMS"
Processing system, please wait. After a while the installation is automatically aborted with the errormessage:
E:Error in /sdcard/DHD_3.06.405.1_Sense_3.0_v1.3_EU.zip
(Status 0)
Installation aborted.
What is going wrong?
The steps I followed:
1. I flashed the cLK loader and Recovery
2. I installed the google usb driver on my pc to connect to phone
3. I did run fast_resize.bat from cLK folder
4. I did run fastboot_install_recory.bat from the cLK folder
5. I followed the installationsteps on my phone for installing the ROM.
Before all this I did flash the latest HSPL and Radio.
What I noticed, is when i boot the device and get the cLK screen (with options boot recovery, boot sboot etc.) i see in the header "RADIO-UNKNOWN" allthough i flashed Radio 2.15.50.14.
What can be wrong? Hope someone can help me..please
Thanks!
Regards,
Edwin

id try redownload the file again.
Also, you didnt use magldr to copy the file to sd did you? it doesnt handle large files well. Either use cwm sd transfer or use a card reader.
I've tried 2 ROM's, both with the same error.
I also copied the ROM's (ZIP) on the SD directly with my laptops SD-slot.
Any clue what can be wrong?
Edwin
Tried more things. I used several SD cards, results are all the same, error during installation.
I tried to install 2 ROM's:
- Desire_S_sense3.5_Android.2.3.4_v1.3_EU.zip
- DHD_3.06.405.1_Sense_3.0_v1.3_EU.zip
Both ROM's gave the same error during installation "error in ZIP", and on both my SD cards.
I downloaded a different ROM, CMYLXGOs.Stock.Desire.HD.v1.0.7n.NAND.RMNET.NO-SQUASH-MDJ.S10.4OC_CWM.zip.
That one was installed successful. But after rebooting system, the recovery mode was still coming up.Selecting normal boot gave an error, there was no loader.
I am really stuck now, hope someone can help me.
Edwin
Man try doing a hard restore I think something went wrong in your process of installing cwr not in your process of installing rom . Install cwr again and than try again. It should work !!!
Click thanks if I helped you.

[Q] Please help me, error while flashing

Hi guys, I hope you can help me.
I have just rooted + flashed my motorola defy plus for the first time (on any device for that matter)
I installed 2nd init, version 0.6.... or something.
Put a rom, kernel and google apps on my sd-card
Then I turned usb-debugging off and rebooted my phone.
Now I can get into bootmenu, and this is what I do:
1) go to recovery
2) select custom recovery
3) then it says: Clockworkmod Recovery v2.5.1.8
E: Can't open /tmp/recovery.log
4) I then select wipe data/factory reset
5) then it says this: Formatting DATA
Formatting CACHE
FORMATTING SDEXT
No app2sd partition found. Skipping format of /sd-ext
Formatting SDCARD:/.android_secure
Data wipe complete
E: Can't open /tmp/recovery.log
6) After that i select install zip from sdcard
7) then I select choose zip from sdcard
8) then I select the zip file containing the rom
9) And it says: Finding update package
Opening update package
Installing update
E: Can't make /tmp/update_binary
Installation aborted
Now I can't go any further and can't use my phone at all
I hope u guys can help me, and that I haven't F*ed up my phone
I have a quite similar problem.
On a defy+,rooted 2ndinit installed, backup-ed first, download the new quarx05/03 ICS, put the zip on sd, wipe data, reboot and start to install ics, but the message was
''Finding update package

Thanks to the previously backup I can use may phone as usual.
What I have done wrong with de ICS installation?
Thanks
PS. Sorry for probable a dummie question:What we have to do with md5 zip near the CM9 Jordan.zip?
A little help please about the subject?
Thank you

I guess that this is a simple and many times occured error, since nobody has any answer....
Does you disabled the usb debugging before flashing?
Yes I do, but nothing change,
Thanks
if I'm not mistaken the last release of 2nd init is not compatible with defy. Try to check this on the development forum. I hope I have been of help.
I'd tried with both 1.0.7 latest and 0.6.1.
With latest, the phone is blocked.
Thanks
I had used this. Try with it
P.S. sorry for my bad english.
Tried, the same errors,
Thanks
I don't know. Sorry. By the time i had used that.

I think you need to go to stable recovery after you wipe your data from custom recovery
What do you mean by "stable recovery"? You talk about version 0.6. of 2nd init or something else?
Can you show a step-by step procedure?
Thank you in advance.
However, which is the procedure to un-root a defy+ and to have it with the original, fresh system?
I had flash a new SBF, root with Unlockroot v2.3, anything else doesn't work, 2ndinit v2.0 stable, wipe data/cache/dalvik (same errors), try to install cm9-ics, the same error "Can't make /tmp/update_binary"
What the f.....?

Hi, I have exactly the same problem.. Trying to find a solution but is quite difficult. First I thought it has something to do with the partitioning, as stated in THIS topic. But, in THIS topic, people say that partitioning the SD card is not necessary at all..
@Cretu22: Yes stable recovery is CWM 0.6
Don't install stable recovery! I too faced this issue when I flashed using stable recovery. In snd init install Latest recovery and then try flashing your ROM. That should work..
I did choose the stable version indeed 0.6.7.
Now i did uninstall it and installed the latest 1.0.7, but when I reboot my phone it won't get into the boot menu but just boots into android. Tried it several times, but only with 0.6.7 I seem to be able to get in the menu

Yes, its working Pressing the volume down button was not necessary with 0.6.7, that was what went wrong. Now the zips installed like a charm
i know the answer and is very simple
the problem is that you cannot create that specific folder.... because it already exist, cmp (connected music player) creates it, just delete it from SD and done!

What were you trying to flash and why from stock recovery? Have you rooted your defy and installed 2ndinit? You can't install any custom roms from Stock Recovery. CWM recovery is meant for such purposes.

You can't just remove the extension. You need to unpack the sbf file with WinRar or 7-zip then flash it. .gz means that file is compressed and you need to unpack it!
Downloaded sbf file but unable to unpack

hi. if you have non-standard userapp-partition size (~1gb instead of 600mb), look here (this is russian )
4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=286940&st=3340#entry11484847
briefly:
1) backup your imei (if you dont have it)
2) download b138sp4, official 2.3 (e.g. b526), recovery 5.0.26 and patch for returning 600mb partition
3) install b138 from _internal_ memory, replace recovery
4) boot in recovery, install 600mb's patch (once, without wipe)
5) reboot, install b526
6) ...

I guess my real question is what's the best way about flashing this rom

3) Install ROM
4) Install GAAPS
5) Clear cachse/dalvik/etc.
6) reboot
?
Well bricked my phone (sort of)
I got the (Status 7)
installation aborted error
I used the att CM file which is compatible with the Bell version in Canada.
Can someone please help ?
ask in q&a, where this post belongs. cheers
So my phone is messsssssssssed. I got the status 7 error -- and it aborted. So I went to try to sideload the rom (after editing the file -- there was a fix for this) and it says sideload started -- it's waiting for me to send the file
BUT I CAN'T GET ADB TO RECOGNIZE MY PHONE.
am i screwed ? I installed the drivers and stuff and still it won't recognize my phone ... do i have to reboot the computer ?

update your recovery.
Where did you get the rom and what did you edit in it?
also I would suggest wiping system when you flash new roms, not just data/caches
