Hi everyone, I got this full Nougat package yestaday, people outside the US or AT&T can flash it by Odin update your system to Android N with Feb secuity path. Here is the link, download it can unzip, use Odin flash four files expect pit file(I don't know what it is, I flash without it and my phone works well), waiting five minutes and enjoy it!
mega:https://mega.nz/#!4FBSEYRA!3Sepq2lGz0Y-hINa3eT0i_Ota918zLqSntMrbu8CQAw

Worked for me!
I googled how to flash using odin downloaded the version advice for marsmallow and flashed the version you shared. Was a little nervous at restarting but it all went through smoothly.

Same here, many thanks for the post!

Well I was unable to get the download posted above??? But I found it elsewhere. Now can you just flash this directly to the phone via Odin to replace the PL4 version I am currently running???

Churs
Was able to get from QA7 (which had no upgrade path that I could find) to QB2 without issue. Thanks for posting this. :cyclops:

Is there an issue for flashing this on an AT&T phone?

I think they just mean that if you have an AT&T phone in the US you would get the updates as OTAs and likely before any of the flashable images showed up on the web. You would be less likely to need to flash a stock firmware. But, I could be wrong.

I have baseband : g891aucu1apg7
Unlocked at&t and outside us, should i upgrade it directly to this firmware or i need to step up my baseband one at a time?

See bullet points below:
* A person buys this AT&T exclusive phone, it is network-unlocked so that any SIM card will work (even those from other countries)
* That person brings the phone outside of the US but still plans on using it with a non-AT&T SIM card (a consultant, a businessman, a tourist, etc..).
Or maybe that person lives in another country and just wants to use this particular phone.
* However, AT&T OTA (Over-The-Air) incremental updates only work "within" AT&T network (an AT&T subscriber).
* Therefore, since that person is using a non-AT&T SIM on this phone, automatic OTA updates will NOT trigger/work.
* The solution is to "manually flash" the OTA update by obtaining a copy of that file--Then manually flash it, either via "Modified-ODIN" or via the "Standard Recovery Mode" -- This works, and should not stop people in the US (who are also AT&T subscribers) to use it.
* This is just a work-around-OTA-update (manual flash) for those people outside the US or for those people using a non-AT&T SIM card (US or non-US).
* It should be noted that an OTA update is only a PARTIAL update that is dependent on the currently installed version.
For example: If there is an update "version D" available, the person must ensure that his phone's current firmware is "version C". If not, then that person would have to find the missing updates first before flashing to the latest OTA: "ver A --> ver B --> ver C --> ver D"
This is time consuming and confusing to some, therefore... It is preferable to have ONE complete package, all-in.
* Thus the existence of this STOCK FULL FIRMWARE file. It contains the complete files and drivers necessary to quickly update that person's phone directly to the recent/latest version without worrying about version dependencies or incompatibilities.
* This full firmware update will ERASE your settings and data, so back them up with known methods.
* This firmware update will not change your network/sim-lock status. If yours is unlocked, it will stay unlocked.
This firmware update contains the following files:
AP_G891AUCU2BQB2_CL10651105_QB12578871_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT_meta.tar

Thanks for your detailed explanation, that's right, It is diffcult for AT&T phone outside US updating to the latest based.

Went through good, resolved several pre-existing issues I had with the device. However it now tells me that I can't use Samsung Pay due to an Unauthorized Modification. Additionally, I'm now stuck on 4G instead of 4G LTE, and I can't access the radio settings via *#*#4636#*# and lastly some menu options in Settings simply crash it. Other than that works fine

where can I find the next update after february security update?

whats the password for the file

Best root method for this firmware , flash aboot BL, or twrp in AP ?

best method we have for root in nougat is the eng.boot.img that activefan01 obtained on around #710 in the active root sucess thread...
BL is not unlocked, so no twrp for us, only flashfire

I've spoken to them a couple of times, both their Facebook page and their customer service indicated their won't be a move up to Marshmallow, very doubtful over a move to 5.1 even. Any more updates will be focussed with optimising the existing software, adding slight features for the EPD etc.
Sad but they are a small company, seems they can only focus on 1 model and a time.

New Update .
Still Lollipop 5.0, but brings some useful improvements and enhancements. I'll take it.
I hope, with the release of the Yota 3 and 2c, that the price of the YD201 falls down. They can't update neither Yota 1 and 2. I still got the first one, but just because I live in Brazil and got from a nice guy that agreed to sell and send his Yotaphone 1 to me from India.
Anyone inclined to sell your Yota2 please talk to me.

It's for the RU (russian) firmware, if you check the other threads there are methods to flash the previous version. I have been using it for a few iterations now, the new one worked as an OTA, even with TWRP (they added something to reflash the stock recovery, Yota noticing the significant root community using this phone in Russia at least).

Thanks for the info!
I only believe it when it is real, but according to info from tech support, also the EU firmware will get an update this month...
BTW, lollipop isn't too bad, I switched back from marshmallow on my nexus 7 - too much battery drain. if Google could get it right the first time, you wouldn't need monthly bug fixes. not saying that an update for the yota isn't overdue...
Is just me that can't update? I have no OTA and flashing manually gives me "no MD5 file found" error

Yes, thanks
Sorry what you mean with firmware and software version? Phone was running Kitkat 4.4.2 or 3 (now is bricked).
I cannot skip the checksum, no such option in my TWRP (2.8.5). There are others option about checksum on backup but no skipping during install.
I am rooted (and bootloader is unlocked) but I cannot install the RU version. Here I don't understand why you ask me if I am rooted: I can install from recovery or TWRP without root
I downloaded all RU versions and the last EU version from the ftp and I got the MD5 error with all, both Lollipop and KitKat.
Then I tried with Yota Flasher utility: I saw that for flash ROM it was seeking for "firmware" path, so I created "firmware" path and put there the ROM.
I started to flash and it took only some seconds... I understood immediately phone has gone bricked.. and so it is...
Then I tried to download the firmware through Yota Flasher: it arrived to 100% and got stuck in there...
I'm trying to redownload it and hope to flash the system, phone is here in downloading mode waiting...
Provide you my flash method, manually. Use the fastboot.exe in cmd, and type command line below
****************************************************************************
fastboot.exe flash aboot firmeare/emmc_appsboot.mbn
fastboot.exe flash boot firmware/boot.img
fastboot.exe flash -S 512M system firmware/system.img
fastboot.exe flash recovery firmware/recovery.img
fastboot.exe flash cache firmware/cache.img
fastboot.exe flash modem firmware/radio/NON-HLOS.bin (flash the radio)
fastboot.exe flash sbl1 firmeare/radio/sbl1.mbn
fastboot.exe flash rpm firmware/radio/rpm.mbn
fastboot.exe flash aboot firmware/emmc_appsboot.mbn (flash again, just do it.)
fastboot.exe flash userdata firmware/userdata.img (notice this is for the user data, including app data and SD)
fastboot.exe reboot (reboot and wait, about 20 min stuck on logo, it's ok.)
Thank you xingshi.
I'll try.
How long does the entire process take?

UPDATE
Via Yota Flasher I download succesfully the 4.4.3 and flashed the phone. Now it's back
I tried to download again the 5.0 EU but no way: arrives at 100% and stops. If I check file's dimension I see it is a couple of kbytes below the size of the other package I downloaded from web browser and in fact it's impossibile to open the zip.
I'll try to download other version of Lollipop through the Yota Flasher.

NEW UPDATE
I have 5.0!
After flashing and old version of 4.4.3 (my phone went with a 4.4.something branded Vodafone Italy, and they evidently don't give a fork about updates). With the 4.4.3 rev 1.0.51a I immediately received he update to 1.0.56a: I downloaded the 114MB, rebooted, and then got the update to 1.0.61a, around 63MB. I rebooted and then got finally the update to 5.0, 1GB
I have only one problem now: the device doesn't recognize when I'm looking at the ink screen, and power button powers on the amoled... Even unlocking through swiping from bottom to top doesn't work. Option is correctly set, I tried to uncheck, reboot, wipe cache and check the option again but it not working well yet. I open a thread for this...

I have the 1.60 EU.
You can make a NAND backup and then flash the newest firmware, trying maybe the 1.99 RU. Even if you flash the 1.60 EU, is not sure that you'll have my same problem, there's people who flashed without issues...

flashed a2017u b35 Nougat 7.1.1 (SIM Card Airplane Mode)

Flashed A2017U b35 Nougat 7.1.1 on a2017 Chinese , USB to PC Hangs (should Restart to work)
Most Important is 2 Sim Showing No Service and when trying to Make A call Saying (Turn Off Airplane Mode to Make A Call)
Despite it Closed , SIM CARD Working on Other Device !!!
Not 100% sure, but it could have something to do with having the wrong radios on the US firmware.
Sidenote, where did you get the B35 update, would you mind sharing it?

It's official Nougat, literally nothing special
I think someone will upload the U files in some time anyways
Right, but what is special is that OTA is the only way it was put out. ZTE never made it available for download from the support page from what I understand so no one seems to actually have the usable firmware available to download in the way others have copies of the official firmware from ZTE support page. Plus since he has the Chinese model it means he probably didn't get it OTA and has a flash able file that he could share.

i think you are mistaken since some guys have reported successfully doing it ...
in any event if you can't downgrade using dns try downloading the complete OTA package and try doing it in erecovery on your phone ..
failing that you might as well try every method you can find that is related to "restoring" your device using the old OTA package ..
however since this is the only downgrade option AFAIK you are SOT if you can't make it work but you are probably just committing an error or have a bad internet connection etc etc and however painful it's in your own interest to keep trying ..there is just no one button press solution for you ..
i saw somewhere one of the things you can pay dc unlocker for is downgrading but tbh i don't know if it works or not so can't advocate it ...
sorry to hear about your bad luck but if you can't make the above work .....you post a solution if and when you find it to help other guys ...

you can try to download the full OTA update package with firmware finder ...then put the update.zip on internal sd card in folder dload ...boot into erecovery and try to apply the zip ....worth a go..
read & try all these methods
https://boycracked.com/android-tuto...-unbrick-firmware-any-huawei-android-devices/
I've been aware that firmwares from Firmware Finder don't work in order to downgrade. You need a full firmware, look for it at https://androidhost.ru/ be sure to search your MODEL and CUST, the lowest build number available. Then extract DLOAD folder and put it in your external SD card, inside this folder you should see update_sd.zip and then another folder with your model and cust which is named update_full_sd... or something. After that go to dialer, type in #*#*2846579#*#* then software upgrade - sdcard upgrade (this wipes data so make a backup). In the end you'll end up with an older firmware so you can use DC Unlocker. I did it in that way and I was able to use the unlock service.

Is there "huawei identity" part on your rom? Is software OTA update available?
Can confirm this works but i had to do using my pc as a wifi hotspot and setting the dns using speedify proxy due my router not having the options to change the dns. Use TEAM MT Firmware finder pc version and follow the instructions then open hisuite and it will downgrade for you, i was then able to unlock my bootloader with dc unlocker and root with magisk.
I took the telephone to a shop for firmware repair. He tried for a couple of days and he also couldn’t get back to official software.

I can guarantee that its possible even with a locked bootloader aslong as the you are placing a signed firmware onto it.
The method needed is quite a pain, the only way i got it working is by making my pc into a wireless hotspot and altering the DNS from there then in firmware finder you need to register the firmware to you imei/ip then you can either try with huisuite or through recovery to click to check for updates and instead of it asking the official servers it ask or checks the firmware finders dns server which then confirms there is an update

Samsung Galaxy 8 rooting problem

Hi Forum users
have a problem in attempting to ROOT my phone
SAMSUNG GALAXY S8
been a novice user made a mistake
hopping I can still win.
will give very brief Description for the moment hoping to get some help
Basically phone booted into Standard ROM b4 I had finished (last step applying ROOT)
I now get an Error that boots and reboots) the error is
"Only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed"
can still get into Download screen, but cannot get to recovery (TWRP)
Oden can still connect to download screen.
I think what I need to do is a Factory reset again, and hopefully get back into RECOVERY
any suggestions or help would be gratefully received
thanks
PS
happy to give full description if needed

You will need to flash firmware via odin.
You can download firmware with updato.com or sammobile.com
Thanks for reply
Thanks for the reply
Ok just to be clear
I have already flashed TWRP
SO I have a bootloader installed
but cannot access RECOVERY MODE
SO I can access Oden in download mode
which Firmware are you suggesting I Flash
Just had a browse of those sites seem to be mainly Northern hemisphere
I am in Australia
But from what I understand we have the same CPU as the European ones

1. Flashing firmware will delete twrp.
2. Being from Australia myself all firmware are on the website. You will have to filter out for Australian firmware.
3. Do you know what firmware you are on.

Hmm didn't take note of that B4 starting
but I think my Model numbers is SM-G950F if that helps
SM-G950F Exynos 8895 9 - just done a quick Google
one other thing that might be relevant i also managed top install
no-verity-opt-encrypt-5.1.zip
before stuffing up
will this affect things or will that be overwritten

Flashing stock rom will restore you phone to it's original state. So you will have to install twrp and root again.
For information about firmware and Odin maybe this may be of some help.

If you are not sure about your firmware install the latest version.
On the website they will also have dates of when the firmwares are released.
You can use also samfirm or frija ( PC applications ) to download latest firmware.
OK will follow that info
and do the Firmware update
As I don't know the firmware number, will have to try the latest version
will do a bit more reading when I have a some time and give it a go
thanks for the links.
Will let you know how it turns out
THANKS
Few more Questions
OK done some reading
filtered out some relevent Files, (I hope)
one file took 16 hours to download (they where feeding it at 50kbs).
So have two files which where listed as XSA carrier,
others where Telstra and Optus.
As I am not aware of XSA carrier was hopping that it was some sort of generic carrier firmware
Is that correct ??
One is version 8
the other is version 9
So should I go with the version 9 ?
Sorry for all the questions, just want to make sure I get it right
THANKS

XSA is unbranded firmware ( it's what I have installed on my phone).
If you are locked into a carrier flashing other firmware will not unlock you from that carrier.
Not knowing what firmware you had before and because of download speeds you may have to use version 9 ( PIE ) firmware.
To check software version no. ( bootloader ) you can check in download mode. It should have a line saying AP SWREV: B : * - the star is your bootloader version. So you will have to use this version or higher when flashing firmware.
Make sure of your model number when searching for firmware. S8 = SM-G950f
Im having a similar problem, had to install stock july patch im using latest odin version then, i install recovery but when the phone reboots there is no recovery, tried to downgrade to february patch but odin dont allow it

Are you talking about stock or custom recovery and what is the issues you are having with it.
Depending on you bootloader version number you can not down grade firmware.
I tried to install stock recovery, the problem is: odin installs sucessfully recovery but when i try to go to recovery is not installed

Glad you got it sort out.
Not sure about the signing in. I use mobile app which is logged it to my Google account. I do have some issues with the PC ( without logging into Google ) but don't use it much. All I can suggest is to try a search on XDA or ask the moderators for assistance
Retry installing Recovery

FRP Locked S8 G950U

I have a Galaxy S8 that is FRP locked.
The exact model and version is: 8.0.0/R16NW/G950USQS3CRE2
From what I understand this has the v3 bootloader and Oreo, correct?
I need some help getting this phone unlocked. Anyone care to lend a hand? I can use Odin and ADB just fine, I just need to find the correct files needed for the version I have.
Also, if I can actually get the correct files., can someone outline the steps needed to do this? I've been trying to unlock this thing for about three weeks and my brain is turned to mush with all the things I've tried.
Please don't send me PMs trying to get me to contact through other means.

Hey. Don't worry. Frp lock is a protection for your phone this occurs when your oem lock is on. To unlock it go into developer options and then tick the oem unlock option . But for now your phone locked all you can do it flash stock firmware using odin . That's the only way . I know the data ma be precious inside the phone but it be useless until phone in not booting . So ho and flash stock firmware for your device from sammobile.com
Thats all . I hope may this helps you and inform me as soon as possible.
Stay Blessed?
Sorry for bad english.

Yeah, flashing the firmware doesn't reset the FRP. Tried just AP, AP and BL, all five, doesn't matter. On first boot it requires the previous owner to log in. It's stored somewhere that's not touched by the flashing process somehow. Or it fails. After doing all five files on first boot it says it's installing something, gets into the 30% range, then says erasing for a bit and reboots.
Is there any way to do this?

flash a combination file factory reset from combo then flash legit bit 3 or higher firmware. The 30% failure after erasing is normal. 32% normally
Thanks for the reply. Is this what I need?

Its test and diagnostic firmware released by Samsung. It is not a usable rom. You'll flash this. Factory reset from inside the settings menu. Then you can reflash official firmware. And you should be good to go unless this has been patched

So I went ahead and flashed the combination file in the first link and did a factory reset. Now when I try to flash the files I already have it fails. I'm assuming that's because I flashed a bit 5 combination firmware, and the stock files I have are not bit 5.
How do I know which firmware files I need? Do I need to do all files (BL, AP, CP, CSC) or just one? It's very hard to figure out what to do when everything I read is different.

Yea you need bit 5 files. Flash all 4. If you look at a firmware number. 5th dig from far end will be a 1-6 that's the current bit, anti rollback whatever you want to call it.

Thank you so much for the help. I'm getting closer.
I am currently downloading a file called G950USQU5DSC1. Should be bit 5. I'm pretty sure it's for Sprint, and this phone was originally Verizon. Will this be a problem? I'd very much prefer AT&T or T-Mobile, but Verizon might be OK if I'm locked to it.

verizon firmware is unlocked sim wise sprint firm probably wont work but also should setup based off of your sim card inserted.
dsc1 i believe is pie which is awesome on s8 you can change carrier also with the combination file pretty much as your doing with each personalized firmware to each carrier

I'm grabbing the file from this page: https://www.theandroidsoul.com/samsung-galaxy-s8-firmware/
How can I tell which carrier is which? I'd rather just flash the correct one off the bat. Looks like the only one on that page for the 950U that is Pie is the Sprint one. I don't have a SIM. Well, I could take the one out of my current phone temporarily if it'll help set it up correctly.
Is the process for switching carriers just flashing the CSC file? Or is it more involved.
EDIT: There is a CRK1 file that is U5 and Oreo. Pretty sure that is Verizon. Cancelled the other file and am downloading this one. Going to take a while, using my phone as it's faster than my home internet.

The CsC determines sales code and carrier setup. I use sammobile or updato.com they have all firmwares needed
Boom. It worked. Typing this on the S8. Even accepted my AT&T SIM and connected to data.
Flashed an 8.0 firmware, but it seems to be getting updates. Maybe it'll update automatically to 9.
Anyway, thanks again. Free S8 is nice.

that firmware is from sprint. something worth sharing is that all S8's designated for the US market are literally the exact same physically. You CAN flash whatever firmware you want for whatever carrier on a g950u. You will need a modified version of Odin to flash firmwares originally intended for a different phone tho. I had the FRP lock on my dads old S5 the other day, but i was able to get thru it with my gmail information oddly enough. Not sure why google thought that authenticating use on that device per my gmail account credentials was ok, but..... ok i guess.
Once you get the phone up and running, put a sim card from whatever provider you intend on using in the phone, if it asks you for an unlock code, then youll need to get one from the original carrier it was intended for or a third party paid site. AT&T has a sim unlock tool on their own site you can try.
Teh reason i mentioned that all the S8s intended for the USA are literally identical is because you can take a sprint S8 and use it on Verizon, AT&T, T-Mob blah blah provided youve flashed the correct firmware, which is either the U1 version or the bespoke firmware for that carrier

Very good info. Thanks.
When I first booted the phone after flashing I had put my StraightTalk AT&T SIM in and it connected right away. It also started downloading and installing system updates, all the way through the Android 9 upgrade and the August security update. Pretty cool. The only thing I see is after a reboot or power on a notification pops saying that a non-Verizon SIM is installed. But that notification can be dismissed, and as far as I can see doesn't recur until next boot. So easily ignored. And there's Verizon specific bloatware. Maybe I'll download AT&T and T-Mobile images just in case. I've been thinking about carrier hopping, as I have pretty poor AT&T coverage in my area, since with StraightTalk I can get a Verizon SIM added to my plan and take my AT&T one off pretty easily.
I haven't really used the phone much yet, as I'm waiting on a case, but I'm not sure I'm going to like the Samsung skin. I'm used to a very stock Android experience, as I've only really used Motorola phones and my current Nokia 6.1. I just like plain vanilla Android. But I'll give it a shot. Already installed Nova Launcher and F-Droid.
