If you use GoodLock you can go into GoodLock -> Advanced -> and toggle S SFinder Shortcut to off.

This works if you are rooted
Download a file explorer like Solid Explorer.
Open the app, enable root folder access.
/system/etc/permissions/
Find the file com.sec.feature.findo.xml
Rename it .bak or delete it and reboot.. Probably better to rename it so you can go back if need be..
Information on this can be found here..

automatic or with a widget?
same issue here, would gladly hear how to remove it
Only if your SGS2 is rooted:
With Root explorer, adb or Android Commander:
Go to system -> media -> ui, then rename the file Charger_connection.ogg to Charger_connection.ogg.bak (or delete it)

I am presuming you mean "File Expert"
Do this to allow you to delete system files:
1. Click the menu key and select More.
2. Within that menu click Settings
3. Select "File Explorer Settings"
4. Scroll down and select "Root Explorer"
5. Click "Allow" in the window that pops up
no root button in explorer
Okay let's do this another way.
1. Download ES File Explorer from the Market
2. Open it up and press the menu button and select "Settings"
3. Scroll all the way down and select "Root Explorer" and "Mount File System"
There.
thank worked can this way delet stock apps
You can, but don't get too crazy, some apps are needed for the system to function properly
directory apps system?
/system/app

original settings.apk

I add original apk from android 2.1 to my nook, but i doesn't work. I now can't enter to setting page, wifi atc... Please if some one would be angel, and send me the true original settings.apk from Nook touch. Thanks.
Go to the B&N webpage for the 1.1.2 update: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/u/Software-Updates-NOOK-Simple-Touch/379003175/
Download nook_1_1_2_update.zip.
It is a signed ZIP file, you can open it with 7zip, http://www.7-zip.org/download.html
(Windows can't open this directly without stripping the signature.)
Get whatever you like out of /system/app
If you aren't up to 1.1.2 yet, just do the manual update and it will fix things.
(Except that you may have to re-root.)
Thank. I try this before, but this signed zip archive get me
Install 7zip, thak to CrossOver (MAC). Extracted settings.apk. And everything work perfect. Thank you Renate!
Thread moved to general, based on the fact it's not a : mod/kernel/rom.
I write it works, but only procedure to get apk from update to phone. Settings app dont work, I can't see a icon in menu (but don't know there must to be), anyway i run setting from B&N bottom bar, nothing run. I can't event add widgets because context menu don't show. Please has some one any idea?
If you are running 1.1.2 and you put the Settings.apk out of nook_1_1_2_update.zip in, then it's the right one.
Settings.apk 971,804 bytes
Did you put it in the right place? Does it have the right permissions?
Did you kill SettingsProvider.apk too?
What does logcat say when it bombs? Give us a hint.
Yes, I have same size Settings.apk. I put it to /system/app/, permission set to rw-r--r-- .
I touch only setting.apk -SettingsProvider.apk is the same.
When I click on top bar (wifi/battery icon) restart nook, when I click on bottom B&N bar nothing shows.
Sorry i dont have terminal, and wifi home, at this time. I don't know what try...
When you click on the top bar you start: com.android.settings/.Settings_Quick
Have you tried Settings in the app drawer?
When you click on the settings icon in the app drawer you start: com.android.settings/.Settings_Root
Does everything else work?
Top bar -Quick setting (restart) -not work
Bott.bar -B&N settings button (nothing) - not work
Add widgets (nothing)-not work
NookColor Tools -All settings (No applications can perform this action)-not work
App drawer (No settings icon) - not work
Activity picker (no settings option) - not work
I try this posible accesses with and without setting.apk in /SYSTEM/APP but same result. -there is no diference if I have app or if not. I try install app "clasical" way, but I got -this app replace another existing app, after I move next app failed to install.
Why I get message (this app replace another existing app) if I don't have in my system nothing touches settings.apk?

Edit system files

Hey all. I'm trying to edit some of the system files like build.prop but after opening it with my files explorer editor and editing, I can't save it with the changes I've made. I'm running rastakat 4.4 KRT16O build. Any suggestions?

You need to edit it with a root explorer, like ES File Explorer with root enabled, or copy the build.prop to your /sdcard folder, edit it, then copy it back and fix the file permission to rw-r-r, or 644. You can also download build.prop editor apps.
Thanks for fast response. Already using es files explorer. Where can I find that option? Also please let me know how to change permissions if I use the copy / paste option.

Swipe from left to right in the gray bar in the bottom to bring up the menu, tap on Tools to expand it, turn on "Root Explorer" option, grant it Superuser privilege. Wait a few seconds you will see a white window pop up, select Mount R/W, make sure all the paths are set to RW.
If you don't see the white popup window, tap on the word "Root Explorer" listed under Tools and it will pop up.

[Guide][ROOT] How back network speed in status bar and more restore function

Hi all.
In b513 i don't find network display speed that same as be in lollipop in status bar but i find were edit file to added this option.
That same we dont have icon to dissable when we roll status bar.
Ok what we need:
B513 firmware
Root
Root explorer or Fx Explorer
And this file local.prop ---> https://mega.nz/#!dkhnBCLB!ZCMY1MwkkPPDBZHJPZ27byvKyrA9H_2vcy9-LA1oPoo
How do it:
Download file and copy to your sdcard
Open Root explorer and go to cust/hw/eu/prop
now copy local.prop to location and change and set permission to rw-r--r--
Now reboot fone and go to setting and to notification panel & status bar and on display network speed.
Now back to setting and go to More and we see Enable 4g is on
That same we can go to Notification panel and we see 4 g icon when we try change icon there
now you have back 2 function from lp
Cheers :highfive:
Float video
Here i write how added floatvideo on b513.
Need Root and Fx Explorer
Notepad ++
Go to hw_oem/prop/local.prop and copy to sdcard
Open local.prop using notepad ++ and go to line
63. ro.config.hw_floatvideo=false
change for
63. ro.config.hw_floatvideo=true
and save. Copy local.prop to extsdcard ( because we have orginall file in sdcard )
Now use fx explorer do to extsdcard an copy file to hw_oem/prop/ and overwrite and check permission.
If permission change you must change to rw-r--r--
Cheers :highfive:
You can also enable data traffic indicator by going to settings>>data traffic management>>traffic reminder settings.
Just set up a mobile data limit and you will get the option to enable or disable the network speed indicator
No root required too.
Es ist oft frustrierend, wenn man alle Antworten weiß, aber niemand kümmert sich darum die Fragen zu stellen :|
