jOdin or other flashing options? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

jOdin3
hey all,
this is the first non-nexus phone i've used, and I am excited about flashing the U firmware to get a clean stock experience on my g930v. I was wondering what files i should input in jOdin under the PDA/Bootloader/CSC/Phone fields after I extract the zip file SM-G930U? I have searched tried to watch some insufferable youtube videos on the matter have had no luck finding an answer. Also since I'm asking, is it possible to flash this firmware with jOdin3, sorry for the newbie questions, didn't know where else to go.
Thanks in advance to any helpful replies.
Solved the above, no need for replies.
Next though is when I try and flash using Jodin3 the pit file is acquired, the phone reboots and then it stays disconnected and I am unable to start the process after the phone reboots. Any suggestions?
Solved the above by using heimdall to extract pit.
I am close to giving up and flashing anything via jOdin3 I have tried pretty much everything to flash new firmware with no success, latest error is that there is a corrupt file, need to use Odin file...
HAS ANYONE had success flashing a Verizon S7 on macOS? if so please tell me where to look otherwise going to sell this for an 930F version.

My lollipop woes

Was trying to use flashfire to retain root and upgrade to lollipop from 4.2.2 MF3 kernel (locked bootloader). After that it wouldn't get past the boot logo. I thought no biggie, but now that I have tried using ODIN probably 20 different times with it always failing at system.img I am losing hope.
I've tried numerous usb cables and ports and am running on a windows 8.1 PC. I have a complete set of MF3 tar files that I have been using and a pit file to restore the bootloader(?) after PDA fails. It seems there is always some sort of solution and am hoping that someone more experienced than me can give me some guidance? Please help, I just need this thing functioning again.
Have you tried flashing nb1? If not, I'd try that, and then upgrade to nj4 if you don't want to go to lollipop. Downloads and instructions here if you need it.
You can always try a different computer seems to have worked for me on one then more occasion also try using a box to do the flash for you if you know of someone that has a z3x box or octopus box they can probably help you out. or try using a different version of odin and if all else fails try using KIES (SMART SWITCH) which i do hate to recomend but seems to help people in these situations. about root what S4 do you have an I337 or the I337m and you can always flash TWRP and install GOLDENEYE (only if your the I337m variant. Hope this post helps you ill keep in eye on the post to see if i can further help you.

Softbricked ATT Phone, Cannot Flash to Stock Firmware

Hello All,
First let me say I've used xda for a number of previous rootings (moto G, moto X), but this was my first attempt with an ATT Galaxy S7 (SM-G930A).
I was able to root the phone without a problem following the exceedingly useful guides posted here. I was set to start removing all the bloatware from the phone manually, when I saw a ROM had been made with the bloatware removed. I attempted to install the Deodexed & Debloated Stock ROM, with the guide at droidviews.
I installed the ROM through FlashFire without a problem. When I went to Download Mode to install the G930A_PF2_Stock_Modem_Recovery_Bootloader.tar.md5 via ODIN, the installation hung.
Now I am softbricked. I can boot into Download or Recovery, but that's it.
I have tried flashing the phone with virtually every stock ROM I can find, but all to no avail. If I am running the PrinceComey ODIN I get a dismatch error; if I am running the latest ODIN it hangs on SetupConnection.
I have installed and reinstalled the Samsung Drivers, performed a factorty reset from Recovery, followed every guide I can find online to return my phone to Stock, all to no avail.
If anyone can offer any assistance, I would be truly grateful. I'm simply trying to get back to Stock (I can then refollow the steps to root and remove the bloatware myself).
Thank you in advance for any assistance that can be offered. This seems like a brilliant forum!
There is a thread with a member with the PK1 files. PM him for a link. This is the latest ROM from AT&T. His name is @QRhinehardt
Try using different versions of Odin. I used odin 3.12 and not the modified version. There is also another version that will ignore the checksum. I softbricked my phone a couple of days ago, this is how I fixed it.

Thank you very much for your reply. I do think the issues is the incorrect firmware - I've used other versions of ODIN and it get a FAIL! (Auth) error after the attempt at .system.img.ext4. I did some research on that and saw some suggestions to use the original pit file. Still to no avail. That said, I do now know the latest version of ODIN has no problems writing to my phone (given the appropriate permissions and files) so if I can get the right firmware I may well be on track.
Thank you again for the tip, and a very Merry Christmas!

Are you running Odin as administrator?
Sounds like your phone has a newer firmware than what is currently available to download here.

I was trying to flash the sm-g935u firmware on my sm-935a phone through a guide and It messed up with odin when i tried and it kept failing. I am trying to flash it back to stock and need some help. I equip the AP file and it keeps saying failed when i hit "start" any help would be appreciated please!
Some extra info would come in handy as to which stock 935A ROM are you trying to flash? What version of Odin are you using?
Personally, I'd use the BQC2 files from HERE

Help with bricked s5 SM-g900r7

I have galaxy s5 stuck in download screen. I have been through several "tutorials " on fixing, with no luck. I'm having a hard time finding original firmware for this model. Any help would be appreciated, I have a pic of the screen with info on it, but couldn't figure out how to post here.

Here you can download the latest firmware update for that model:
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s5/SM-G900R7/ACG/download/G900R7WWU3CPL1/120072/
Seems like the SM-G900R7 is a carrier specific device only. I have no experience with those. But I suspect they flash with odin just like the other models.
Did a bit of searching cause I was interested. If you (by chance) want root, there is an auto-root created by chainfire.
There is also a current official lineageOS build (LOS 14.1 = Android N) for that variant by haggertk (was merged into klte build months ago).
So looking good for you I'd say if you get it running.
I've tried what I think is flashing the original firmware. Tried a different autoroot and nothing. I think I'm doing things right, but always manage to have some kind of small issue, e.g. Connecting phone to Odin, or flash not taking. If another process for flashing original firmware is out there that doesn't use Odin, it may work. Thanks for the responses.

So what's the problem exactly? We need more info on what you want to accomplish and what you did (step by step) and what result you got.
Does Odin pick up your device? What file you tried to install (Link please!). What Odin log messages do you get? etc. etc.
Be as specific as possible. And go step by step! Try getting stock firmware to run first... no root, no custom recovery, no nothing.
Remove the battery for about a minute, boot directly to download mode via 3-button-combo, then try connecting to ODIN.

Looking for BTU-T585XXU4CRK5

Hi all,
Am unable to post on "Samsung Galaxy Tab A series ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other Development" as I've just signed up, so sorry if this shouldn't go here but I'm struggling to find a download of firmware for my Samsung Tab A6 SM-T585 (UK).
BTU-T585XXU4CRK5 (UK)
If anyone could help me out I'd be really grateful!
Thanks
There you go: http://samsung-updates.com/details/141747/Galaxy_Tab_A_10.1_2016_LTE/SM-T585/BTU/T585XXU4CRK5.html
You will need Odin to flash it.
Thanks very much! Yes I have installed Odin + its dependencies.
Damn, this one is same as other one I downloaded - file(s) are corrupt.
Will not unzip through unzipper applications. When unzipped in command line it seems to work, but Odin complains that the file is corrupt.
Anyone else have this firmware they can share?
Have you tried from sammobile?
Or try from here, or here.
I will suggest downloading all of them in the same time.
Odd that you found only corrupted zips. Maybe is something wrong with ur PC / network?
