Samsung Galaxy S7 edge (SM-G935FD) is not booting after flashing samsung kernel - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hi ,
I have Samsung Galaxy S7 edge (model SM-G935FD - G935FXXU1BPLB) model device with me.
Downloaded G935FXXU1BPLB - SM-G935F_MM_Opensource.zip , from opensource.samsung.com
I have taken boot.img from the phone and disassembled using unpackbootimge tool.
Compiled the Downloaded kernel as mentioned in the "README_Kernel.txt". Then overwritten boot.img-zImage file with compiled Kernel/arch/arm64/boot/Image.
Created boot.img (used mkbootimg tool) with the modified kernel boot image , then flashed the new boot.img with
dd if=boot.img of=/dev/block/sda5 bs=2048
After restarting the phone, i am stuck with " Kernel is not seadroid enforcing " even though the compiled kernel is downloaded from the samsung official site.
Please help me to fix it.

The message is not the reason that your phone is not booting up (as it seems).
Despite you built a kernel based on Samsung sources it is one you made and it is not signed by Samsung. However, this message is informational only (and should disappear once you flash a kernel built and released by Samsung).
Why your system is not booting up is a different question and based on your information impossible to tell.

thank you for the reply.
I followed the same method for samsung galaxy s6 , it is working fine, i.e, am able to flash the kernel downloaded from samsung official site.
where as with samsung galaxy s7 edge, Compiled the kerenel from the official site, After that i am seeing the "Kernel is not Seandroid enforcing error".
I don't know the reason why it is not booting. But i need samsung galaxy s7 edge which will be working with compiled kernel source.
Please help to debug the issue, let me know if you need any further information ?

Samsung Galaxy Core Plus/Trend 3 (Qualcomm) General Thread - FAQ & Discussion

THIS is a thread for discussion about the Samsung Galaxy Core Plus or Samsung Galaxy Trend 3 (but only the ones with Qualcomm chipsets). All Questions like "Is there a [Insert any Software Name here] for this phone?" or "I did ... and now my phone doesn't boot!" go HERE.
I created this thread to avoid users creating new threads for any new question, which just clutters up our forum.
Thanks!
Just a conclusion I wrote about the "original" SM-G350, the Qualcomm versions of the SM-G350 and Qualcomm Secure Boot (QSB):

The original SM-G350 (also called "Samsung Galaxy Core Plus") already has CM11, CM12.1 (unreleased), CM13 (public WIP) and multiple TWRP versions.
And the Qualcomm version of the SM-G350 (also called "Samsung Galaxy Core Plus" when it's a Dual SIM Phone or "Samsung Galaxy Trend 3" when it's a Single SIM Phone (correct me if I'm wrong)) does not have the ability to run Custom ROMs or Custom Recoveries (due to QSB)
But I will explain further below:
The original G350 (I have one) has a completely different board and chipset, so using the QCom ROM on it won't work in any case. We tried it the other way round, so someone tried to boot the "original" CM11 on the Qualcomm Version. And it did not boot. So I offered to TRY to make the ROM running on the other Phones although I don't own any of the Qualcomm Versions. At that point no one knew that the phones do have completely different chipsets. It makes developing extremely hard when you don't have the phone the ROM should run on.
I know that it is hard to go along with Samsung's Stock ROM,and I do feel really sorry that I can't help, but there is no known way to bypass Qualcomm Secure Boot on those phones.
Someone theorized that QSB could be bypassed by a special crafted boot.img because of a software design flaw (namely loading the boot.img before the signature is checked, but then aborting due to the missing signature) so that QSB is overwritten at every boot before it can check the signature.
But it's even harder to do this WITHOUT the phone.
TL,DR; I guess there is no way to install anything Custom on this phone until someone with this phone sits down and investigates the problem
EDIT: Here is a PDF file on how the mechanism could be bypassed. Feel free to try to craft a boot.img which supasses QSB:

If I find my SM-G350L which is a Latin American Snapdragon model, I will give it a hand again at porting TWRP. I have a better computer now that can compile in less time.
Been reading the paper and apparently relies on an Odin exploit that causes it to read data directly from the boot image at verification time and we could just load the entrypoint of the kernel into memory. I think it's the same exploit used for AT&T Galaxy S4 and we could Loki it into executing our custom recovery. Lemme find it and I will make TWRP soon, if i find it of course. It's lost somewhere in a deep corner of my house

Help me save my old Samsung Note3 (bought from UAE)

Hello Friends,
I have been hanging around for a while now. I tried my hand few times to update my Samsung note3, as Official service is not provided to phones bought from outside India. Sadly.
Current ROM that I flashed was in 2015. But it is unstable. It changed a lot on my phone,
like my model no now looks like - SM-G9250, (originally it was SM-N900) only.
Details of my phone are:
Android Version: 5.0.2
Baseband Version: N900XXUENG1
Kernel version: 3.4.39-5466072
Build Number: Aurora.Full-G9200.Port.No.4.2
Important: Phone is Samsung Note 3 (Exynos)
My question is simple:
Please help me find best / suitable ROM that my device can happily run. Without any Google Service Errors.
If possible, please point me towards instructions about what to do and how to do. Technically I am little confused seeing all the choices here in forum.
Thanks and Regards,
Praveer.
Come on Guys, Help me out. No one has any answer ?
Update fro my side
===============
I tried using [7.1.x|SM-N900| Unofficial LineageOS 14.1 (ha_3g)], I find myself in particular problem, after flashing ROM, GAPPS and SU binaries, the Google Music stops just when I begin to set up the phone (It happens when language is getting selected), upon going further, the "Google Play Services" stop when I am trying to setup the Google A/C, just after setting up wifi on my phone.
Actions taken so far:
===============
I have tried flashing ROM again and again (must be more than 10 times and counting), I have tried flashing ROM + GAPPS before flashing SU. I then tried ROM+SU and then GAPPS. I flashed ROM with GAPPS (Pico) too. The verisons of GAPPS used so far now are SUPER, STOCK & PICO.
Out of all combinations, Pico gives me least headace. But Google Play Service Framework should be same in all packages, right ? In either case, I am always greeted by "Google Music has stopped" just before I begin phone setup.
Plus I noticed when I did factory reset+cleaned internal storage+cache, I always get "E: Resource (front) -(fixed) failed to load" message in logs.
Do this error creating problems in flashing GAPPS ?
Also, Can some one please tell me what should be partitions on the phone (Samsung Note 3 (SM-N900)) Exynos based ? Maybe I have wrongly configured phone setup ! After all, I have tested so many ROMS over last 3-4 years, that I have forgotten the original partitions detail.
Regards,
PrankSter.
Hi there,
I will move your thread in the correct forum dedicated to Note 3 Q&A for more relevant answers.
Good luck
If you flashed a custom rom then logic says ask in that thread .

Building Lineage OS for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (N9100, trlteduos)

Hello xda community,
I would like to try my hands at building Lineage OS for the Galaxy Note 4 Duos. I was a little surprised that there seems to be not even an unofficial build for it (or cyanogenmod for that matter). Is there some technical reason why it hasn't been attempted yet that is specific to the Duos?
Otherwise, I'd be happy if someone could point me in the right direction. Maybe someone who already did it for a different model could post a basic guide since I have no experience yet in this area.
Speaking of it, my current level of experience is that I have rooted and flashed roms on android phones a few dozen times, and developed a handful of apps for android. So hopefully it's not too far outside of my skill-level.
Thank you in advance.
You can take a look at Note 4 General section, a new thread was made on how to build LinageOS for the Note 4 N910F/N910G. N9100 will not support 2nd sim if im not wrong, you need a dev who want to work on this project
Try this:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0By...llGSnVyVDVfRlE
I downloaded this from the Chinese website. The latest build is 29 April. Donno why. Give it a try.
Thank you very much, I'll give it a try when I get to it.
Btw. the url is incomplete, I'm trying the original thread.
Did it work for you? (the April 29 build )

Kind of. Fingerprint and HDR camera don't work, which was expected, but for some reason phone calls don't work for me, I can call and receive, but there is no sound on either end. Otherwise everything seemed fine and the phone performed relatively well.

I've finally managed to build it from a pure omni device tree borrowed heavily from _mone's trlte twrp device tree. Chinese variant users: please test it as thoroughly as you can, including backing up and restoring with and without encryption. If it works, _mone will push it for official support.

(Asking for help) - Samsung S7 Edge (heroltekor) - TWRP shows 0mb internal storage

Can anyone make a TWRP version for (heroltekor) that fixes this issue. A senior member named @Tkkg1994 has addressed this issue by updating the tree with the latest files, kernels and so on. However he only did a version for the herolte variant. When asked about making the heroltekor variant he said "I don't have a kernel nor an updated device tree for this variant. I'm afraid you won't get that update unless you can manage it yourself " Can anyone help? Thanks alot.

Galaxy S8 [SM-G950F] Kali Nethunter

Hello, does anyone have a compiled kernel for Galaxy S8 Exynos [SM-G950F] that supports HID and External network card? I need to equip this phone with Kali Nethunter.
Looking for some compilations I came across something like this:
https://gitlab.com/kalilinux/nethun...tree/171563c6970e65c4a1ff71eaeddb303cde5f0f89
This is the first time I'm dealing with kernel compilation, and creating installation zip package.
So my questions are:
1. has anyone already installed Nethunter on this device?
2. Is there any hardware limitation on this device that prevents it from using HID and External network card potential (e.g. Monitor Mode etc.)?
3. If the hardware on this phone can handle it, can the resources in the link I sent above handle it all?
4. if the link I sent doesn't help, is there anyone who has a kernel and TWRP installation package for this phone, so that everything I mentioned above works?
I apologize in advance if my questions are incorrect. My experience in modifying Android is limited, as so far it has been based on thin modification of roms prepared by other developers.
Thanks!
Have installed nethunter store on g950v flashed to g950u. Rooted with magisk system root..... bootloader 8 [ yes locked bootloader].. nougat .....
Installed privelege escalation extension in the store and converted to system app with an app from playstore..... I know that's probably not the right way to do that but it seems to have worked fine and I'm not sure where to find these ota zips.... new to kali and only a linux novice......
Would love to figure out the right way to get chroot installed.and the full kali kernel\rom overlay...
Can anyone tell me if this is even possible on thia device ? Or would it break my system ?
If its possible can anyone tell me which ota zip I need to flash in safestrap{twrp} . I see a precompiled kernel for the g950f and I, wondering if that would work? And if not whay would be the proper procedure for installing kali on my device ? Any pointers or advice would be greatly appreciated.
I've opened the nethunter manager app and tried installing with the default settings but I get an error.
I'm thinking I may need to change the install directory but again I really don't know where I should change it to.
I love tinkering with my samsung devices and would really like to play around with kali if I could get it properly installed.
I understand that functionality may be limited on my device since there doesn't seem to be anything posted online that I can find about kali and the g950u.
I guess the locled bootloader tends to make people shy away from the snapdragon devices.
This is my 2nd s8 and its still a great device after all these years. I would
love to see some renewed interest in this device and hopefully with kali or any custom roms other tha. The basic nougat with gapps...
