[Galaxy J1] Did I brick my phone? - Samsung Galaxy J1 Questions & Answers

I tried to flash my galaxyj1 with odin, because it's stuck on the samsung logo screen, with a red exclamation mark at the top left. I used updato.com firmware and instructions in flashing,
Model is : SM-J100ML, and I know the version by going through recovery mode where it shows J100MLDXS0AQA1
So I downloaded the firmware: updato.c.om/firmware-archive-select-model?record=9FB243B0ECF911E69215FA163EE8F90B followed the how to install guide.
I managed to get a pass and a successful in Odin, but now my phone is not turning on, or charging. Did I brick my phone? Is it gone forever?
And yes, I used to be able to get to download mode, the samsung screen and recovery mode. Now I can't.

[Q] Bootloop

Yesterday I flashed the stock firmware with mobile odin, and it failed. If I turn on my phone it stays on the screen "recovery booting...." I can't access recovery mode and my phone doesn't get recognised by the PC.
What should I do?!
I think, still you can enter in download mode. Right?
Then Flash again with odin. Remember to flash with appropriate firmware. (Product code)

BOOTLOOP!!!

Hi, I have a S5 which was perfect on Stock Lollipop (rooted), then all of a sudden, it would not boot into recovery mode after me wanting to factory reset. Then it wouldn't even boot into the rom, all of that in the space of 10 minutes!!
I flashed and re-flashed many PIT files (For my phone model) and 2 different Stock ROMs (Lollipop and KitKat without boot loader).
It does this: Turns on, shows S5 screen, reboots TWICE in about one second, then repeats.
If I want to go into recovery mode (have tried MANY custom recoveries), it would show the blue 'RECOVERY BOOTING' message, but it would just reboot twice.
Help!!! Thanks
Are able to go into download mode? if so, do a firmware upgrade and initialisation through kies3. You will need your serial number and model number( on the white sticker behind the battery. in kies3 go tools> firmware upgrade and initialisation, then follow the on screen steps.

Odin 3 Root "PASS" Stuck on Samsung s5 logo

Heya
I followed a guide to download odin and CF auto Root-k3g-k3gxx-smg900h. I installed odin, booted into download and loaded the cf autoroot.
It takes a while before going to blue "RESET" and then my phone keeps showing the samsung logo.
After 2min Odin shows a green "PASS".
However I'm now stuck with a phone that won't boot and keeps showing the samsung logo.
I have tried the advice given in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2725939
Any advice would be appreciated.
After flashing with Odin did your recovery boot and do its thing, or did your phone reboot and just hanged on the Samsung screen? If the latter occurred, try repeat the entire Odin process again.
Heya.
I repeated the process, but while it says "Blue Reset" it's still sits at the samsung logo. The only way to then reboot is to take the battery out and put it back in. Then when I press vol up+pwr+home; nothing happens except the logo. No recovery mode.
The only thing that I seem to have access to is the Downloading.

Flash stock ROM again with ODIN
Don't use CF AR to root again, some phones just brick like that
Flash TWRP recovery, then SuperSU from TWRP instead

How to Fix the bootloop Samsum Galaxy S7 Verizon?

I try to root my phone using this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039, but I think it is too old to apply on my phone. I followed step by step until I installed the root.tar file using Odin. After that moment, my phone went on with the boot loop, but I can still access to recovery booting. I went on and try to find a way to fix it. I saw youtube saw a video that designed especially for S7/S7 edge. He downloaded a firmware from SamMobile and use Odin to reset the whole thing. I tried the same, using the Odin, getting into the Downloading mode. Successfully download the firmware into my phone, and phone starting to reboot. Again that same boot loop except, I couldn't get into Recovery booting though.
Now the the phone keeps rebooting with the Recovery Booting on top of corner left.
How can I fix it?
Should I bring it to store?
I read a guide here confirm it's not bricked.

After understanding what are definition of AP, BL, CP, and CSC. Instead of flashing only AP, I flash all 4. And for some reason, I got into the Recovery Mode where I can factory reset my phone.
Power+VolumeDown+Home will reset phone. Then hold Power+VolumeDown+Home for Download Mode or Power+VolumeUp+Home for recovery mode. Once in recovery mode, just wait a minute or two and that should always bring you back to the standard Android recovery screen where you can either apply adb update.zip via sideload or reboot phone to system (which should kick you out of this loop).

S5 G900I Recovery Bootloop - Cannot get into any recovery mode?

Hi All,
Got a S5 G900I here that's doing my head in! Stuck in the infamous bootloop at the Samsung logo.
I have been a long time reader of these forums and have prior experience from flashing Samsung phones but this one is driving me mad!
I can put the phone into Download mode without an issue, phone is detected in Odin and I can flash any firmware I try to it (Have tried original 4.4.2 , 5.0 and latest 6.0.1 firmwares from SamMobile). Odin goes through the entire process, reports as "Pass" but then the device goes straight back into the reboot loop and will never fully boot up.
I can also use Odin to push TWRP / CWM / PhilzTouch recoveries, however the device will never boot into the recovery partition. I get the blue "Recovery Booting" message briefly, then the device bootloops again.
Does anyone have any further suggestions to try and get this phone operational again?
I have tried multiple versions of Odin, multiple firmware versions, different computers, different USB cables, different USB ports etc.
I look forward to hearing back from you
Try this :
1. Make sure flash latest recovery with latest ODIN version. Check the official website.
2. Do not let your phone restart after flash recovery with ODIN. Un-check auto reboot on option tab in ODIN. After PASS flash recovery disconnect USB cable then ummm ... I do not know what about your phone .. Mine G900D, I just just pull the battery then I plug it again lol ..: D
3. It should be able to get into recovery after that. If not, it means the recovery type does not match your phone.

Have tried latest stock recovery and latest TWRP recovery using latest ODIN v3.13.1 as well as ODIN v3.09 and v3.10 - No difference whether I uncheck or check auto reboot either
Phone still stuck in a constant reboot loop and never gets to recovery

It is important to turn off the phone right after flash recovery on the download screen. I mean really off rather than reboot. unplug the battery do not turn off with the power button. Because when rebooted, recovery will automatically return to stock .. so the recovery you just installed will be erased again. if stock recovery inside is broken you will get bootloop. if it is done and still can not enter recovery .. huum .. I am afraid if it's a hardware problem .. because it's easier to find a suitable recovery than its firmware. if recovery can not be in flash .... it's a long way to go ..
By the way, sorry for ask .. you release the power button when it says "recovery booting" with blue text.. right ..? while continuing to hold the volume up..?

Thanks for the quick reply.
Yes when I am booting into recovery mode and can see the blue text "Recovery Booting" in the corner of the screen I let go of the power button - device still boot loops.
Have flashed recovery then removed battery - still cannot get it into recovery.
I have seen some Samsungs have hardware issues with their NAND chips but in these cases there are a lot of errors relating to NAND displayed on the screen when I've seen it be a hardware issue. None of these appear on this phone - convinced it has something to do with software.
I found these threads - exactly the same issue as me, and at the end it says they fixed it by flashing a specific bootloader however I have a G900I and the phone in this thread was a G900F

Have tried countless different versions of ODIN / recovery / stock firmware , including the "service firmware with the separate files G900IDVU1BOE1_CL4826466_QB4839040_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT"
