P9 lite Bootloop, but can use fastboot - Huawei P9 Lite Questions & Answers

Today I tried to restore an old backup through TWRP, but for some reason my phone is now in bootloop and I cannot access TWRP anymore. Nevertheless, I can use Fastboot. How can I proceed in order to be able to boot into TWRP and restore a backup?
Thank you for your help
p.s. the bootloader is ofc unlocked

I tried, but it does not work. For example, `fastboot reboot` and `fastboot reboot bootloader` work. Any idea why? I tried to install again the recovery and it succeeded, but I could not boot into it :/
EDIT. it seems that `fastboot reboot recovery` command does not exist. How to get there then?

HELP

Wanted to flash a new ROM, so did a full wipe. Now when I tried to flash the ROM it says need twrp 3.1.x
So rebooted into fastboot and flashed latest twrp.
Now I can't reboot to recovery also NO OS too.
Tried the manual method holding power+volume up it just boots up gets stuck in bootlogo.
Any kinda help would be appreciated.
You know you can just do fastboot boot (blabla).img, right?
All you need is to put your phone into fastboot and the fastboot tool that you get when downloading adb.

@ADITYA_KUMAR this has been asked and explained many times and once more.
- Take Backup
- get Elemental-X kernel (see development section and download correct one )
- flash with TWRP
- get latest SuperSU : SuperSU
- now you can follow same guide of MM from step 5 : Guide
Don't Forget to Take Backup..

What happens if you select Recovery from Bootloader ? Is it booting in Stock Recovery ?
In TWRP go to Backup and make backup of /system /data /boot.
If anything bad happens while flashing/Rooting then you can restore it.
The first time, you must open TWRP from the bootloader directly or the recovery gets overwritten.
For rooting, you can flash Magisk instead of flashing SuperSu. Other steps remain exactly the same.

Commands used:
Fastboot flash recovery name.img
It gives output as image not signed or corrupt.
After that i typed command fastboot reboot bootloader.
I open recovery mode. It opens twrp. But after i restart my phone. It automatically removes the twrp.

This is your problem. You must open recovery from the bootloader menu the very first time. Or TWRP is overwritten with stock recovery. I don't know why that is. But that is how it is...

Reboot into bootloader.
Flash recovery - fastboot flash recovery twrp-xxx.img
Open recovery from bootloader menu (by using the volume and power buttons)
From there you can reboot and your recovery will work normally after this, most probably.

Try commands,
fastboot oem fb_mode_set
fastboot flash recovery name.img
Fastboot oem fb_mode_clear
Then directly boot into recovery,
Then again boot into recovery through twrp itself (there is option for it in reboot) or try anything.
Thank you guys i successfully rooted my moto g4 plus(xt1643)

Ascend XT H1611 – Bricked

Hello,
Can anyone assist me in fixing my issue? My phone couldn't boot to recovery mode, i see the TWRP bluescreen and it immediately enters the boot loop. I can boot to fastboot&rescue mode but adb is not detecting my devices. I tried reinstalling the driver and also restart the adb server, but no luck. Tried different USB ports \cable\laptop, but no luck.
Need some assistance or direction to address this issue.

adb does not work in the bootloader (Fastboot mode)
in bootloader use
fastboot boot twrp.img
just be sure twrp has the correct name and is in the same folder as adb / fastboot
@sri1225,
Adding to clsA post:
If the phone is in fastboot mode, "fastboot devices" should work to confirm PC connection is good and produces a similar response as "adb devices" does when in adb mode.
What led up to the phone getting broken? You said it's bricked - so it won't boot up to normal operating mode?

I tried to flash with the B180+Stock+Rom, after that I cannot go back to TWRP or in recovery mode.
When I do the "fastboot boot twrp.img", in the fastboot&rescue mode, the phone reboots to twrp screen and goes back to the boot loop again. I have tried both the twrp images available in the forum for this device.

The B180 stock rom replaces TWRP with stock recovery
If you want TWRP again flash it from the bootloader
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
when you enter TWRP
goto Wipe/Format Data/ and type yes
now you can root the phone or leave it as is
Fwiw, the 'boot' command only boots twrp, it doesn't flash it. Thats useful for testing that twrp works. The proper command to flash is immediately above this post. Take it from me - always test first. If it boots, it works.

This is it correct and I was using 3.12 by prince comsey I used it before for my other older samsung tablet
Do this on pc:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot devices
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img (the twrp NAME of the twrp you just downloaded)
fastboot -w
fastboot boot recovery
Then let me know

And in download mode (I've never used Adb and fastboot but I have rooted many devices )
Yeah, I right click and grant admin full control so I dont need to think about 'admin' rights lol, good pointer for noobs... but download mode would actually be:
fastboot reboot edl?
You'll be using adb a lot more until magisk can flash all boots OFFLINE

So basically just plug it up. And start
Yup, but edl is for emergency flashing... last resort
If you do edl mode, best to reflash stock and start again
So it boots to the stock recovery not twrp
Yeah, then reflash twrp
There's a few choices here, the choice is yours
Soz, let me try to be a bit clearer.
For edl you need to use the flashing software that your fone maker provides to flash your stock image.
Load stock image into this flashing tool and let it check itself, (it just checks integrity of rom)
power off fone
In the flashing tool, hit the flash button, may say start, may say write...
Plug fone into pc
Let us know.
Still didn't work I tried everything it just sits there saying that it's trying to flash recovery.img and that's it never completes nothing

flashing oneplus one

howto flash the one without working volume controls??
is this possible?
Yes, it is possible. LineageOS has an option to boot to recovery or fastboot via the standard reboot dialogue.
You can also use adb commands "adb reboot recovery" or "adb reboot fastboot".

thanks for the reply. is there any manual to do so?
for im´m an absolute newbie on this. adb and faastboot are installed on my ubuntu machine.
Depends on what you are trying to accomplish.
Flash TWRP recovery? You may also use LineageOS recovery instead of TWRP if you want. Follow their instructions https://twrp.me/oneplus/oneplusone.html
Flash LineageOS? Follow the wiki instructions https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/bacon/install
Beware that unlocking the bootloader will erase all data on the phone.

While in fastboot mode, you may boot into recovery using "fastboot reboot recovery". Almost there, good luck!

doesn't work on my ubuntu machine. "unkown rebbot target recvery..
i tried .guess i check it on my win machine.
You can also reboot to recovery from within the OS by using "adb reboot recovery". It should work if you were able to reboot to fastboot using this method.
unfortunately it does not work while being in fastboot mode.
adb says device 'null'not found..
Yes, you are supposed to use adb from whatever OS you have installed, CM, CyanogenOS, LOS, ...
but?
is flashing possible without being in fastboot mode? just using adb?
I understood that you had already flashed the recovery. Now you need to boot into the recovery to flash an OS.
Fastboot is used to flash the recovery.
Recovery is used to flash the OS.
yes i think that's it and therefore i had to reboot to recovery without working controls..
