Sprint BADBoyz V.3 tweaks issue - Sprint HTC 10 Questions & Answers

Hopefully I'm posting in the right place. If not, my apologies, I don't have permission yet to post in Dec threads. I flashed the bad BoyszV.3 nougat after the sprint US Nougat OTA and love the ROM just like I have for the last year or so I've been using Bad Boyz.
In my BB tweaks my MIUI and traffic colors will not change. All other tweaks seem fine. Running latest unofficial TWRP (3.03.9)and SU 2.79 with Nova launcher and an HTC Theme applied for wallpapers and fonts. I have tried removing HTC themes and Nova launcher then reflashing (dirty over otherwise perfect BB Rom) ROM to no avail. I had the same issue on 2.7 Marshmallow ROM. Wondering if it could be another app like CFLumen or the enabled Android systemUI interfering.

it's a known issue...still working on it

Thanks, not meaning to be a pain. Saw something in the forums about an updated systemui, I guess that was what I should have read closer. Love the ROM, thanks for all your hard work.

the issue is my code in the tweaks app, while I'm working on it, you can install & use leedroids tweaks app to update the color...http://www.soldier9312-xda.de/svn/l...em/priv-app/LeeDrOiDTweaks/LeeDrOiDTweaks.apk

Working: Substratum theme engine and Theme for CM14.1 LineageOS

Tested working on MI5-Gemini running on CM14 LineageOS, Other CM-Based ROMs still to be tested.
NOTE: Admin kindly delete this thread or close it if it has already been discussed.
WARNING: Your device may end up in bootloop if you are not careful! Follow at your own risk! BACKUP EVERYTHING BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE...
Now, unto the best part!
Tired of the whites? Try going dark! We all know CM Theme engine has been missing on the latest CM 14.1 builds. And we all know that substratum causes bootloops in cm 14.1 based ROMs. I have found a workaround for this problem through a substratum theme provided at the playstore (hurray to the developers!)
How to make it work (Root Access Required)
1. Download substratum app at the playstore
2. Install this paid theme (also at the play store)
(Swift Black Substratum Theme *compatible with Nougat 7.1.1)
3. Open substratum and select Swift Black Substratum Theme
4. Allow root access
5. Choose android version 7_1_1or 7_1_1_OMS
Patch everything Except Android system!
(Device may end up in bootloop if you do so... I havent tested compatibility with this yet so if you are not sure, un-check it! (Refer to attached pic in post)
EDIT: if you choose 7_1_OMS setting it will work fine without bootloops even after patching Android System provided, that the thene supports this option. (thank you @etoy)
6. Restart device.... Enjoy!
Credits to all the developers of Substratum and theme makers!
and to Cyanogen/LineageOS
*This is my first XDA thread ever so please forgive me if i cant post some links and pics ATM(due to post requirements) but im very much obliged to answer your questions)
Confirmed working settings for LineageOS in substratum
*Android 7_1
*Patch everything except android System
*Theme is lost after every LineageOS OTA update or Version update.
*If this happens just re-patch substratum all over again...
*Haven't tested Non 7.1.1 compatible themes, only this one... If other themes worked for you, then let me know so i can check out too...
UPDATE:
Using an alternate rooting technique for the latest LineageOS Build, I got it up and running again!
*Works with 7_1_OMS setting

Other working themes (Free on Playstore)
PixelUI(fully compatible with 7.1.1 LineageOS)
Galaxy Evolution (fully compatible with 7.1.1 LineageOS)
SIX Theme(Works but dont patch "Android System")
Lemme know if any other themes worked for you so we can add it on the list!
The only substratum stuff I want for LineageOS is the font changer!
I also tested some others Substratum themes ... will add functional later.
I do hope they will be fully compatible with LineageOS soon as CM Theme manager seems to be dead on CM14.1 due to a different RR implementation.

If stuck in bootloop just reflash cm14.1 all over again... And remember always make a backup... And dont ever patch android system in substratum.... It will always end up in bootloop!
Follow this setting... this always worked for me. Highlight everything except ANDROID SYSTEM. hope this helps!

1. You don't need to install that paid theme. I'm using Pixel UI Substratum theme just fine. Those instructions are misleading. One might think he need to put money in that theme developer's pocket as a necessary step to use Substratum.
2. Dark theme is cool and less painful for your eyes. And that's about it. Less battery drain? Only on AMOLED display. Our MI5 is LCD so the leds will produce light. On black, on gray or on white. No difference. And even on AMOLED displays, a dark theme will save battery only on true black (#000000). Anything else means led "on" and therefore power consumption.

not on lineage. some other roms have full support to OMS/substratum/masquerade/rro/layers or how the hell they call it now. those roms have full compatibility with subs themes, including android system, fonts, bootanimations, etc and usually don't require a reboot

ZE552KL WW_14.2020.1703 update disable theme, need earlier SystemUI

Seems like theming is no longer possible on WW_14.2020.1703. All themes can't be downloaded, instead, it sends 'waiting' message that seems to last forever. Anyone experiencing this? If by any chance. SystemUI apk from earlier version of android N could be shared, preferably from 1701, it would be much appreciated. I'd like to go back to a theme that brings me closest to stock android quick setting appearance.

If you have rooted, just disable themes app, change the apk in system with an older version released at the end of last year, enable and wipe data. If app crashes, wipe theme app data, disable, reboot and enable.

Icon packs does a better job for that. You don't need themes. I prefer icon pqcks from Sourabh Gupta. He updates icons frequently and all his icon packs has 5700+ icons. His latest Android O Icon Pack is pretty awesome. It is paid though.

I'm afraid that's not possible without root unless Asus re-enable the option in future update. I think the transparency of quick setting might cause issue(s) with currently available themes. And you're right, quick setting with the rounded toggles and notifs, especially in lock screen, are painfully ugly.
Hi guys, there's a fresh post https://www.xda-developers.com/downgrade-an-app-android-no-root/ , anyone has successfully downgraded to earlier version of zenui with third party theme support?

Substratum & Oreo

I flashed Swift Dark theme for OOS using both root and rootless method via Andromeda and using either method the overlays seemed to create a very perceptible performance hit in certain apps which is something I never noticed on pre Oreo versions of Android. I'm curious what kind of experience other people have had flashing Substratum on the OOS Oreo builds.
First, there's no talk about "flashing" here.. You don't need to flash nothing... Then, i'm using swift dark and some other themes with open beta and they're working perfectly like they work in nexus oreo... No performance lag or hit.. I'm rooted with magisk

Ok I installed the overlays. After I did there was scrolling stutter in Play Store and Google App that wasn't there before. I didn't notice it in other themed apps. I'm using Magisk as well. Maybe the custom kernel I'm using has something to do with it. Are you using the stock kernel?

No, i'm on stock kernel, there's no custom kernel that satisfies me... Maybe you're using the wrong settings (stupid question ) are you using the swift dark for oxygen oreo? If yes have you tried to remove every layers and then re-apply it and then reboot?

Yes I chose Oxygen Oreo. I didn't try to remove the overlays and then reinstall them. I rebooted after applying the overlays and noticed the problem. Removing the overlays didn't fix it either--i had to dirty flash the ROM to get everything working right again. There was a popup warning when I opened Substratum suggesting that the rootless method would work better in Oreo. I bought the Andromeda app and applied the overlays the new way but I didn't notice any difference. I had the same scroll stuttering in the same apps. I guess it could be related to the fact that I'm using a custom kernel.

Notifications bugged on rooted OnePlus 6T

Hi folks,
I've been having this problem with notifications for certain apps (facebook & discord in this case) ever since I rooted my OnePlus 6T.
In the case of facebook: notifications will come in after booting the app, maybe even twice.
In Discord's case: Notifications won't come in at all, and will come in after I've actually seen the messages or they do come in, but come in again after reading the message.
I thought it might be one of the Magisk modules I've installed, so I'll list them too.
Technical info:
Android Version: 9
Kernel version: 4.9.106-perf+
"build number": xXx_NoLimits_7.4a
OS: OxygenOS 9.0.16
Magisk version: 20.1
Magisk manager version: 7.4.0
Magisk modules:
App systemizer v17.2.2
Busybox v1.30.1
Debloater v17.2.1
Swift Installer module v4
Systemless hosts v1.0
Youtube Vanced v14.21.54(b01.40.20)
Substratum
xXx NoLimits 7.4a for OnePlus
I've messed around with the Swift themes and app systemizer to see if they were causing the problem, but no.
I'm not sure what other modules might be messing with the notifications, so there's that.
if anyone has an idea as to what might be causing the issues, I'd love to hear from you.
If not I might try to flash a custom OS and see if that works :silly:
(and yes I am kinda new to this all )
I know this is an old post and I see no one has replied. But I am having the same issue. Unlocked, rooted, using magical modules and only one app OfferUp is not getting notifications.
Did you ever find out what was causing this problem?

Yes I read that too. I was going more for PiXen OS. I really like OOS 10, but it seems to be the actual problem. Was going to try factory reset, but I think it may be a waste of time.
I read on reddit and other places that this is an issue with OOS 10. I have read many have done everything from disabling deep idle sleep magisk module, turn off battery optimization, turn off adaptive battery and you name it..... Non resolve the problem.
Some say factory reset work and other not. What I have read it's a sure fix is going back to OOS 9.0.9 or installing a Custom ROM.

What's your opinion about Hydrogen OS?
Not sure 10 is the culprit, as OP was on 9, and I'm on lineage 16, which is 9 based. Maybe double tap to wake is the prob. I just turned it off. Report back in a few.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/how-to/guide-notification-fix-100-t3865551
Notification problem solved by installing PiXen OS. Really nice looking Rom, easy to install if you are already on 10.3.4 OOS. Has stock camera, which was my concern and I will be installing the Oxygen launcher since I like it better. Basically it will be almost like the OOS, but with updated security updates and mod options.
No luck installing Op launcher. The only way is by downloading a op launcher port old version 4.10 and using quickswitch. The issue is that it doesn't switch to dark mode and goes to default icons after I restore my op launcher backup.
---------- Post added at 03:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:05 PM ----------
I don't like the lack of options the Pixel launcher has. The only other option would be the Nova launcher.
Edit:
Was able to learn how to get the OP Launcher in PiXeN OS. The latest patchable version QuickSwitch is able to patch is version OnePlus Launcher 4.4.8. Its stable and it has Google Feeds automatically. So far its stable and everything is working as it should....... Cant ask for more, Stable custom rom with stock OP camera, gallery and now OP launcher.
I figured out how to get the latest OP Launcher 4.5.9 working on PiXeN OS. Everything is working great.
Just got OfferUp notifications working and it seems I am getting more notifications now. I did a couple of things, but I think the one that fixed this whole notification issues was installing a custom kernel.
I installed ElementalX Kernel and after that I got notifications from the apps that I was not receiving it. I also disabled RAM Boost from system settings. I did noticed better performance with RAM Boost disabled. I believe ElementalX Kernel improved my OnePlus 6T overall. I am in Stock OOS 10.3.5 rooted with Magisk and TWRP permanently flashed.

Stable, battery friendly, daily driver ROM?

Hi, I have 6T and like OOS but still have sometimes issues, im just looking for another daily driver ROM (install and forget), with good battery (at least as OOS) and to be stable.
Im looking at
Paranoid Android
PiXeN-OS
HavocOS
Any tips ?

I just switched from OOS 10 to PiXeN OS, because of notification issues. Everything is working great now..... But I don't like the Pixel Launcher and tried running OP Launcher with Quickswitch and it wasn't adapting to the dark mode and it was glitching.... Kept going back to defaults layout after I restored it with my backup.
If I could get OP Launcher working.... It would be great.

I've been using Bliss Rom for about a week and i'm pretty happy with it.
It has the OOS Cam as well as GCam, and both work well.

I found the solution here on Telegram {Mod edit}.... The Shady Mods OP Launcher 4.5.9 works perfectly without having to patch it with QuickSwitch. I installed the QuickSwitch that was on the Magisk module search and it was v3.1.6. I always use Titanium Backup to make the switch between Roms easier. I only restore apps and not the system files... Some apps you still have to setup again, but the majority Titanium Backup restores the data specially for games.
Basically you install the Systemless_OPLauncher-v3.0.zip with Magisk and use QuickSwitch to set OP Launcher as default (Select No when it ask to patch). Done. Works perfectly. I am on the latest OP Launcher. No issues and was able to restore my layout with my OOS backup. If you have a backup from OOS of your OP Launcher, you can use it to restore the launcher layout. You just unzip the net.oneplus.launcher.tar on the opbackup folder and copy it to the root /data/ data

Give it a shot. I've been using it for the last 3 builds. From what I've seen in the 3 months I've used it, he says this often because people ask about 6t updates. There's usually only one when a 7t beta is released. Other than that there are none in between. But he has explained that his script he runs, builds all of his ROMs in less than a minute so he was going to continue updating.

About notifications, I couldn't figure out what you guys were talking about because I never had this problem. I had forgotten that I wasn't on stock 6t ROM.
So it's possible that this port doesn't have the issue because I get all notifications.

PiXeN is really stable. Had only two strange thing happen. One was while I was on a call and could not access anything while on the call screen..... Basically I was stuck. It hasn't happened again. I also did notice the camera lag opening.... But not sure if it was due to the Rom being recently install.
Both issues have not been duplicated. The big benefit for me was, being able to use the OP Launcher and being able to transfer my launcher layout. Battery life is very close to stock and performance is very fluid.
From reading the OP 7T Port Beta 16 in Telegram.... There seems to be people having some issues with the ROM. Didn't read much, but it seems not to be as stable as PiXeN. For now will stick with PiXeN... Already getting use to swipping to the side gesture to go back.... I was used to swipping up at the bottom corner to go back. I did have to adjust the area where the side back gesture was, because some menus you side gesture to bring menu out. So I moved it to the lower side.

Well im going to try it out. I didn't really even set it up up so I didn't give it any real chance. But I'm going to flash it now and see. Just in case he does drop maintaining that port. I'll be ahead of the game. Lol.
Might be time for an upgrade.

I know many users in the OnePlus 6T Telegram group are using PiXeN and have confirmed it to very good and stable. So far it has been true. Plus Gapps, TWRP are preinstalled. It also passes all the safetynet securities in magisk without having to install any magisk modules like I had to do when I rooted stock oos.

Hmm, courious to know what modules were/are needed on a stock rom in order too pass safety net , was it something in order to pass a banking app ect...
As I am currently rooted (lastest version) , exposed installed for a few things, g-pay and banking apps working fine without and modules or scripts..all on a stock rom and kernel..
Can get 8 to 10 hrs. sot and make it through the day without a charge.. though I don't play games... Battery pic is a bit off as I had a lazy day and slept in yesterday ..
