All text underlined red (ZUI 2.5) - possible to disable dictionary? - Lenovo Zuk Z2 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

Hey guys,
today I upgraded to zui 2.5 - currently I'm not rooted.
I downloaded Swiftkey for typing in German. However, every word is underlined in red - because I'm not typing in system language (English) I reckon...
I tried to disable dictionary in GBoard and AOSP Keyboard but without success... Also, I tried to uninstall the dictionary apk (which would solve the problem) - also unsuccessful because I need root to do this.
Is there any other option to disable dictionary except through rooting?
Thanks a lot!

I've tried several different ways. Only MoreLocale2 seems to work. No root required.
Download app MoreLocale2 from playstore.
and adb drivers, zuk drivers on your PC.
zuk-driver
https://www.androidusbdrivers.com/go/latest-usb-driver-windows/
adb-driver
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979
then after adb devices are listed and autorized, type
adb shell pm grant jp.co.c_lis.ccl.morelocale android.permission.CHANGE_CONFIGURATION
then, in app, change to new locale, and almost the entire phone will be in your locale ... also the dictionary
cheers

restoring default keyboard

UPDATE: rather than try to restore the original nook keyboard, that I'm not interested in except to allow reinstallion of go keyboard, I installed another popular keyboard, SlideIT, and enabled it with a modified Sqlite3 code of Renate. Provider for the SlideIT is
com.dasur.slideit/.SlideITIME
Now if I don't like the SlideIT keyboard, I can always reinstall go keyboard after uninstalling the SlideIT.
===
Unfortunately I still have problems with the go keyboard, and this time it is completely my fault. Following Renate's instructions about sqlite3, I was able to install the free version of the keyboard, but hated the ads that came with it. My mistake was in uninstalling the ad-ridden version when I think I should have replaced the it with my other version (although that might not work either because the new install might require unstalling the old app). After unstalling it, I tried installing the new version but was unable to do so - I've tried everything I can do to install it. Rebooted - reinstalled. No luck. Deleted the old version from the system/ap folder using root explorer, then tried reinstalling - again no luck. Tried repeating the sqlite commands - nope! etc.
Using Nook Color Tools, I find that the go keyboard.pad process is still running and cannot be shut off. I suppose that is the problem.
It seems like what I need to do is to reverse the 'enable' go keyboard sqlite commands, with another sest of sqlite commands that restores the default keyboard. Is that possible, and if so what would I use to replace the 'go keyboard' material in sqlite for the 'default keyboard'?
I suppose I need the provider for the default keyboard, and the name of the keyboard.
Once that's done, then I think I can install my go keyboard using sqlite (?)

Did you download the emoji keyboard? Try switching to the lg one and then changing it in language and input ????
Is there a way to install the stock keyboard so I don't have to switch keyboard for emojis?
I installed the stock keyboard by uninstalling the ROM one in data/apps and than installing the stock one. That worked but I can't enable the keyboard in settings. Help please.

Change language with morelocale 2 doesn't stick on reboot

Right so I just changed the language to nl BE using more locale 2. Had to set the permissions using adb shell on my unrooted v20.
It worked but now each time I reboot, I need to go to the morelocale app again and change the language again because the phone is back in English...
Anyone know a work around or solution?

Any luck with this? Having the same problem even with root.
Can't seem to accomplish this via Tasker either without SecureSettings+ which I believe requires Xposed (and that doesn't work yet on Nougat).
Could automate opening up the app and screen taps on boot but that is pretty annoying.

A6010 Plus Google keyboard [Gboard] problem .. NO add-on dictionaries downloading !

Hey everyone,
Got here now Lenovo A6010 plus with latest update of android 5.0.2. Here is the problem:
When I go to
GBoard Settings > Dictionary > Add-on dictionaries
I simply look for the language I want to add and mark it. The status changes to Downloading but in a second it goes back to Available again !!! And no downloading starts or language dictionary added.
Google Keyboard comes with the phone and it can't be uninstalled. the problem occurs after updating google keyboard to Gboard (the new google keyboard name). What I tried:
- Restarting the phone.
- Allowing unknown source installation
- Trying same exact steps on another phone on the same wifi and verifying it works
- Trying mobile data and disabling wifi
- Uninstalling the update and installing it again
I attached some screenshots of the process exactly. Looking forward to any suggestion.

Google Keyboard doesn't autocorrect or show predictions

I'm using the Google Keyboard 7.8 (but I've also tried older versions) and with all the same problem: the auto correct text or show predictions does not work (obviously I tried all the settings and reset the application many times).
Can anyone tell me how to solve?
Thank you.
Open beta 10 - xXx rom
(Re)download the language pack(s). It will fix the issue.
Edit: or go to GBoard > Language, select English instead of the default Use system language.
Just select your language manually, it will download a dictionary for it
Thanks, but it did not work ...
