Samsung C9 Pro AT&T 4G LTE Compatibility - Samsung C9 Pro Questions & Answers

Is anyone currently using the C9 Pro on AT&T 4G LTE network. I really need to know if there are any compatibility issues before I purchase.

LTE part probably not compatible. Hspda should work, but I cannot confirm u until I back to US in April

On my straight talk (AT&T), it shows H+ which is 3G only. Speedtest show 2.54Mbps d/l and 1.22 Mbps upload.

i have the unlimited package with AT&T and i get service anywhere i go in Atlanta Georgia, USA..... yes i get LTE and i have no problems with getting a steady signal.... it will be the best phone you'll ever own. i have had a few but this is by far the most amazing one i've ever had the pleasure of using. i have even wiped the software from it numerous times with my experiments on making new apps and mods. I put it into download mode.... install the firmware... and i crash it again in an hour.... its seriously more indestructible than i could have ever dreamed of.

Well I have 4g LTE all day long and when i've got the download booster turned on i get about 9-15 Mbps when i'm connected to wifi. I am in the process of adding more bands to my service with AT&T.... i'm only missing 1 out of 3 bandwidths.... but H or H+ i still have yet to see on the screen.

4G/LTE

Just got my phone in US....Was able to get Saturday Delivery. Anyways, the phone is awesome! My phone shows a 4G icon is that the same as LTE? I know in the Xperia ZL there was an LTE icon. Thanks.

Do a speed test, someone on Android Central forums shows 4G on At&t and is getting 23+ down so it's LTE

4G is the same as LTE. It's just how this phone decides to display it

I live in Europe, phone shows LTE when I'm using it. It's also my first LTE phone so I'm blown away atm...
4G is LTE..
Sent from my Xperia Z2
Ive had mine on t-mobile doing speed test and I'm getting 30+ down while getting average 11 mb/s up. The phone shows 4g but that is lte speeds.
This thread is pretty funny
Many have already stated the simple fact that by name '4g and LTE' are interchangeable..
They are of the same radio.
:thumbup:
When I had my Z2 it was running UK firmware, it displayed 4G icon on my phone on AT&T network. When I flashed the phone with Euro Unbranded firmware , LTE icon got displayed.
It just depends on the firmware customization, so either way you are getting LTE speed but the icon displays different depending on the firmware installed

Will the Xiaomi Note work on AT&T?

Hey guys,
So I'm in the market to possibly replace my Sony Xperia Z3 and I'm intrigued by the sheer awesomeness that is the Note. I'm wondering if I ordered the phone from china, would I be able to use it with an AT&T Sim card and have cellular access? I don't need FULL LTE speeds, though I'd like to have close to that.Sorry for the newb question! I couldn't find an answer to this anywhere.
Cheers,
Bump! Still need this information. Thanks!
You will get EDGE ans GPRS... I'm on Rogers in Canada and I think it will be the same for AT&T....
On the flip side you get great battery life...

I have tested using my AT&T SIM card in the USA. I have the export model which says fdd-lte/tdd-lte/wcdma/gsm on the box label. I get H, or H+ next to Mobile strength to pop up on the top header which I believe is GPRS. It also says AT&T 3G on the top header, so I don't believe you can get LTE in the States. As stated, battery life is excellent. I'm still on V5. Struggling to upgrade to V6. There seem to be many links and different versions of V6 for the 4G. I have tried them all, but I get a big X and a stop message in Chinese, so I'm not sure what any of it means. It just reboots to V5. Will keep exploring.

Sorry, just noticed your post. It varies but on my last test I got a Ping of 21 ms, Download of 6Mbps (it seemed to slow down as the test proceeded) and Upload of 6.4 Mbps. Still running on 3G. When I get H+ the download speed seems to go faster, but the upload much slower. Again speeds seem to vary, depending on the signal.
I tried to modify the phone to get AT&T LTE bands, but no go.
I am using Redmi note 4(bought in India). I have H2o sim, which use AT&T network. I am getting LTE here in Texas. and download speed 3.5 MBps and 0.74 Upload. not bad for my usage.

G935FD duos (dual SIM) - no LTE on T-Mobile in the US

My S7 Edge G935FD (dual SIM international version) gets only "4G" on T-Mobile in the San Francisco Bay Area, and never "LTE". Is this a "4G vs. LTE" naming issue, or does it lack the band T-Mobile requires for LTE? It also gets "H+" often, in the same location that my old S5 had full bars LTE.
Speed tests with the SpeedSpot app range from 17Mbps to 33Mbps down, and 3.75 to 7.5Mbps up on "4G", but only 5Mbps down and 1Mbps up in H+ areas.
I bought it from tropical_mobile on eBay.
I think 4g and lte are the same..

Just naming issue with international version.
@kvsandeepreddy is right.
LTE means LongTermEvolution which is the so called 4th generation of Mobile Networks. So LTE is 4G
1G = Analog mobile Network, I think
2G = GSM and EDGE
3G = UMTS and HSDPA
4G = LTE
FD version is released for asian countries... back in india we use 4g instead of lte
Poorer connectivity on S7 than S5

Well, that means that the S7 dual-SIM gets poorer reception than my old single-SIM S5:
In the same spot in the building (at my work desk), I'd get full LTE bars on the old S5, but only H or H+ at best on the new S7 Edge dual SIM. In practice this means ~6x slower downloads and ~7x slower uploads. Pretty ****ty.

Phone being a dual sim doesnt usually affect the sig al strength.. maybe the inbuilt receiver in s7 edge is defective.. heard some other people complaining about the signal strength too

No that's not what it means. The g935fd version is meant to be able to switch to any international firmware version. There are several different modems for each region. You are going to just have to flash different modems in Odin and see which one works best for your region. This does not trip knox or void warranty as long as you do it right because you are flashing official modems. As I said in the other thread you were in, do your research.
Can someone link me to the best modem to used on the dual sim model in the states?
Which modem did you end up using? I am also wondering which version is best in the US.

I'm just using the UAE firmware that the duos came with. It's updated with the June security patch. Only issue I've had is slower than normal download and upload speeds on at&t. It's not that big of a deal, just annoying. I think it has more to do with atts provisioning on their network. I'll post a solution if I figure it out, whether it's a different csc, apn settings or some device setting on my account.
4G is called LTE in USA. If you are getting 4G. That means you are getting LTE.

Yes, you are correct. However, I should have clarified that my statement is based on connection speed tests not on network symbols in notification bar. My slower speeds are in comparison to other 4g devices being tested in the same location on the same network.

Yep. I can confirm the same thing. I have 2 s7 edges. One is a DUOS and the other is AT&T branded. Tested both repeatedly and found that the AT&T branded device is getting way faster speeds than the DUOS. In my particular area the AT&T phone was reaching up to 60 Mbps while the DUOS was only hitting 30-40 Mbps. Very curious on how to fix this since this phone has all the necessary bands to support LTE in the states.

At least you're getting that. My speed tests are consistently in the .72 to 5 Mbps range on the DL and 1-7Mbps on the upload, which is basically about half to a third of what my other AT&T devices are getting in the same location at same time.

It's not just the bands. AT&T is known for prioritizing their branded phones vs. BYOD phones. It's done by EMEI ... they have a list of all their branded models in a DB and they get priority. TMO doesn't much care. I tested my Duos yesterday and TMO gave me 59.4/12.8 network transfer. It's as good as my 6P. My AT&T sim is in sim1 and is restricted to 2G which is fine since I need calls and texts only from it since it's a work #.
And it does support most of AT&T's bands except band30 which is really new. 4G everywhere else is LTE here as was said in other responses in this thread. It's most likely AT&T deprioritizing the phone as it's a BYOD.

It doesn't have band 12 so I'd save your money. Band 12 is just the deeper penetration 700mhz anyway which around me (SF area) can't be found. My Nexus 6P which has band 12 never connects to anything but band 4 .. ever.
Same crap... If it bothers you flashes the csc

I noticed this as well with my 6p. Supposedly band 12 was to save us all but my phone prefers band 4. I only got a glimpse of band 12 the other day then the phone switch switched back to band 4 when I toggled wifi on and off.

Android 10 and LTE on t-mobile.

On Android 9, I was seeing LTE+ with t-mobile w/ 70 to 95Mbps download speeds on speedtest app. Now w/ Android 10, I only see LTE (no plus), and speed is back to old LTE speeds of around 25-30 Mbps. Others encounter similar change? [Update: tested again and don't see LTE+ but do have the speed back at 85Mbps download speed]

Hi there, sorry to jump on this boat... but I have a similar experience. I'm from Vancouver Canada and I used to get LTE+ but since Andorid 10, I can only get 4G+. Tried forcing it *#*#4636... but it won't show LTE. To be fair, I ran some test and I am getting about 100 mbs download.

How are you already getting it if TMO had to push out an update for users on tmo phones?
Are u talking about the 600Mhz band? That's n71 and is supported by our phone.
They also use band n41, n260 and n261.
n260 and n261 may not be supported but that's not where TMobile has released their dedicated 5G (28GHz and 39Ghz both FR2).
I'm not currently on their new 600Mhz band but rather using their shared n2 band currently (1900Mhz) according to the cell mapper app.
Getting around 130Mbps on speed test so it's not too bad.
Also I'm on Metro but technically speaking same network.

That being said again the op8 pro does have hw support for n71 sa which is the band TMO released for their dedicated network.

Could be wrong but based on https://www.google.com/amp/s/m.gsmarena.com/oneplus_8_pro-ampp-9919.php
It does. Also since last year's McLaren did, I would be surprised ours wouldn't
Sent from my IN2025 using Tapatalk
I just wonder if it is going to require an update... As the TMobile branded 8 did.
TMobile can't push updates to unlocked phones so if required we won't be able to get it.
That being said they definitely seem to be the provider that's less stringent about allowing unlocked devices on the network so chances are much greater than on AT&T's network for instance.

No, the update on the op8 from t mobile was to enable SA as well as a new security patch. I have op8 t mobile as well as 8 pro, can only get SA on op8 from t mobile right now and was only after installing that update. We will have to get an update on the 8 pro before we are able to use SA, hopefully the update is relatively soon.
Out of curiosity what are the performance delta between the 2?

The performance of SA n71 will be less than running n71 in NSA miss, simply because you're losing your LTE aggregation. However, without needing the midband LTE anchors, you can now connect to 5G on n71 in places where you couldn't before because either midband LTE was too weak of a signal or just didn't exist. Ping times for SA are lower on SA as well. If you want a direct comparison between LTE, NSA and SA, look at my other post https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=83222337&postcount=21.
Edit: This link also has some comparisons as well using Network Signal Guru https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=83222499&postcount=23.

Currently, t mobile is having phones still lock on to NSA by default. If you still have a useable midband LTE signal, chances are you'll lock on to NSA instead. You can manually force SA mode, although then you can't make or receive phone calls. Although that depends on where you are as well (I know someone in another market with t mobile op8 and if he forces SA, he's still able to receive calls just not make them).
Not sure if I'm the only one but this latest TMO update has messed up my 5g connection on my S20 Ultra. Whenever I go on WiFi for more than a few hours and then try to go back to 5g I won't get an internet connection and have to disable 5g (force an LTE connection) and enable it back on so that it's working again. This is annoying. If anyone has any suggestions or is experiencing the same issue please let me know!
Edit: Seems like I posted on the wrong forum (One Plus), but still wondering if this is a device issue or a network issue so I'll leave the post as is.

Haven't found a fix yet, have you?
What is the baseband version you have on 5G SA builds?? I believe, it should be >= 2.0. Unfortunately on all OS 10 I saw only 1.0.c8 something, which most likely will not support Dynamic Spectrum Sharing, neither 5G StandAlone.
