Looking at TimmyDeans thread, and in the instructions, it says, if it doesn't succeed the first time around, to repeat the process.
I hope you wrote that UID number down, just in case.
I have never used it, but, from what I have read in the thread, it is better to use a Win7 PC, rather than XP. Also, when you start the app, as with most Linux and Java, it is better to "right" mouse click the application file, and select "run as administrator".
Additionally, you may want to post this also, in TimmyDeans's thread as well.
Anyhow, I believe he says to restart both the PC and Tab, and start the process again. From what some users said, it may take several times.

[Q] How to Control Phone with a Dead Screen/Display?

Phone's screen (display) suddenly died, everything else still works. Are there any ways I can control the phone 'blind'?
Short cut to turn on accessibility, or have everything on screen read aloud
Control the phone via PC
Mirror the phone on the PC
Only thing I found so far is [email protected], which requires turning on the USB debug option--a little difficult since I can't see the screen.
Thanks
Ive used [email protected] I used that and then installed teamviewer then created a connection to my pc.
Try that. There really isn't much to do with a dead screen sorry man,

[Q] Nook simple touch stuck in USB mode

I connected the Nook simple touch to load some books from my laptop. Windows explorer and Calibre both recognize the device and show the books in the device. However, even after 'ejecting' the nook from the laptop, the screen is stuck in 'USB mode'. I have repeatedly connected it to the laptop and my desktop with no change. I have charged it many times.. None of the usual tricks of holding down the power button at the back, holding down the power button and N worked. I opened the nook and disconnected the battery for a few minutes but nothing happened. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The device is out of warranty.
Thanks

Okay, I may be able to help.
Is there a microSD card in your Nook/is there one available?
Are you rooted? If so, what method did you use?
What model of Nook Touch is it? The Nook Touch Glow or just the plain Nook Touch?
What is the software version of your Nook?

Cannot tell as the device is frozen on the USB screen
I left the battery disconnected for 30 minutes. No change. The folders in windows explorer are showing date of 1/1/2000 !
I can transfer files to NST through USB or microSD but as the device is frozen, not sure how to reboot it to read those files.
Thanks for your help.

Sure.
Alright, so just to make sure - holding the back power button has no effect whatsoever on the screen?

Unfortunately no. Tried all possible combinations too and for different durations. I read somewhere that after disconnecting the battery, press power button for 60 seconds and leave the device unconnected for 30 minutes. Did that too.

How long has this problem been occurring for? (How long has your screen been stuck?)
I'm guessing that this is a hardware issue, as there is no way that the actual device is not responding to the on/off button on the back. I think that it really is responding to it, but you can't see it happening because the screen is stuck at the USB Mode box.
Try this:
Connect the Nook to your computer via USB.
Open Windows explorer to "My Computer" so that you can see the Nook "drives".
Now push the power button on the back of the Nook and hold it for up to 30 seconds.
Observe if the Nook "drives" disappear and then reappear in Windows Explorer.
If they do, that is an indication that your Nook has rebooted. If this happens, it is likely that your Nook is "functioning fine" and the eInk display is broken.

Ah, yes. This would be a good indicator.
Thanks, David!

You may be right about the hardware. We had given this as a gift to someone in Australia who recently returned it as 'not working'. I do not have the details of what was not working. The screen looked OK with the screen saver but I did not check the functions except for charging it. I connected it to the PC to remove the books that were on it and load new ones which went OK. When I disconnected the device, I discovered the USB Mode screen not going away.
Now that it is 'bricked', I do not mind playing around with the hardware if you have any suggestions.
Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the great suggestion- will keep you posted !
So it does appear to be a screen problem as the re-booting test in windows explorer was positive.
The replacement screens on ebay for NST or Kindle 3 start around $30. I do not think that it is worth the expense as used NST can be purchased for a few dollars more.
Thanks for your helpful suggestions in arriving at a diagnosis. I used this to become an expert in taking NST apart- did that 4 times !:fingers-crossed:

I agree wholeheartedly to that - the only real reason to actually get a new screen would be if you were rooted and had a ton of stuff on your Nook that you seriously didn't want to lose.
Glad to help, though!

Uh... Guys? I dun goofed...

Okay so I was trying to dual-boot Remix and Windows on my Windows machine. Long story short the partition program I was using decided to wipe my C:\
I don't even know how it did that.
Anyway, I'm *almost* back to running at full efficiency thanks to Lenovo's drivers page. UNFORTUNATELY, now my keyboard will no longer make a sound or vibrate, and the pen button no longer responds at all, it just gently pulses in the corner. I can still *use* the keyboard, and the drivers are all seemingly installed.
Any ideas?
Okay I'm going to leave this here in case anyone else needs it, but between installing all the drivers and restarting the Yoga Book a couple times, the problem has apparently fixed itself.

Recovering photos from device with burned screen

A few days ago my girlfriend who has a J5 (J500M) accidentally let her phone fall into the washing machine and she turned on and put it on charge after little time and her screen burned. The cellphone works but I can't see anything in the screen (I know he works because the phone vibrates when receiving calls/messages), so the thing is: she have a lot of important pictures she took with the smartphone and she didn't wanna lose it all, but I tried a lot of things and none of them really worked:
Tried to put the phone in Download Mode and pull the images with ADB but the USB Debugging is not enabled, so it wont recognize the device.
Tried to put her password in the screen but I'm pretty sure the touch isn't working too.
Tried some programs that promises to recover my files but they didn't work.
I was thinking about flashing CWM and try to mount the storage partition but I couldn't find, I only found TWRP which is touchscreen only (I guess).
So anyone have any ideas to try?
PS:The screen is off so I can't see anything and USB Debugging is off.
Thanks guys,
