Any way to show battery % in the battery bar on new stock Nougat? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers

Just wondering if there is Any way to show battery percentage inside the battery bar on new stock Nougat?
The only thing I am missing on this new firmware. I used to use the app Battery Percent Enabler but it does not work anymore... I also tried to long press the gear icon on the notification pull down to unlock the new settings but that does not work on ATT.
Thanks!

Thanks, but I am asking to add the percentage inside the battery icon so it does not take up all they room in the notification bar.

How much room does two(sometimes three) digits and a percentage symbol really take up?

More than I would like or I would not have posted this thread in the first place ?

I don't think there is an option for that, maybe in the future a rom will integrate it

Percentage and battery icon?

Is there a way to get a percentage number along with the battery icon?
There is a free widget available in the market which does exactly what u assked for.
Just search for "battery percentage"
Sorry, I wasn't clear, I want it up where the current battery icon is, not a widget.
I use battery indicator, it's free from the market and though it doen't show the percentage on top of the battery icon, it shows it to the left of the notification bar so it's always there no matter in what screen you are and occupies no desktop space.
Also, it shows some very useful, very well integrated info in the notification area when you pull it down including how long it's been unplugged, bettery health, temp and voltage.
In case it was any concern, it hasn't affected my battery life at all (i can still get about 3 days on mid-light use)
Hope u like it!!
Use the battery monitor already built in that goes into the notification bar.
Then bring the bar down and the percentage is there.
i've been trying out quite a bunch of modded roms for the past week, and I think I came accross one which indeed had percentage written in the small green battery icon at the top-right corner next to the time. Maybe try out the r1 cyanogen port from modaco.
Most modded roms use some kind of ugly donut icon, which isn't more precise than the stock battery looking icon.
However, i'm not actually sure if having percentage written in the icon changes much : i suppose there must be an equal number of pictures, whatever battery indicator design you choose.

How to display battery percentage in notifications bar?

Just curious, is there an option to display battery percentage in the notifications bar when running stock software and unrooted? I was unable to locate such an option in the settings, but maybe I'm just missing it. Thanks!
Settings|My Device|Display|Display battery percentage
lol, I don't even have the phone and I would have known that.

Second screen battery %

Is there any way to show current battery status on the second screen when phone is in standby?
I hope theirs a way to add it, hate having to unlock phone to check battery percentage
Yes this is driving me nuts as well....would love to see the battery percentage on second screen and not just the battery icon.
I agree. Wish there was a way to display %

I found a work around of sorts for this. It's not perfect but, it works decent. You'll need to get the free app called "Battery Mix" from the Google Play Store.
After install, go into the app settings (icon style wheel (top right)->settings button will appear underneath). The very first setting at the top will be for the Notification Icon. It will say: "Remaining battery icon displayed in the status bar". Make sure this is checked. Then choose an icon style to appear in the status bar if you haven't already. I prefer the Round Rectangle one, personally.
Keep in mind, if you have a lot of uncleard notifications, it may not show in the second screen until you do so.
This app also has a very nice battery alarm feature that allows the app to notify you by notification and sound (even vibration and your phone LEDs) when your phone reaches or drops to certain charge level percentages. This is very handy to remind you to either plug in the charger, or unplug to prevent overcharging. All the best! LGman
One would think that after 8 years in the wild, Android would allow you to have JUST the battery percentage on the status bar. We can't even hide the stock icon without the help of an app or root. Sad really.

And it's not as if they can't, Samsung proved that with their Note 7 where an update changed the battery icon to green
Persistent notification icon + a tasker task that'll only keep the notification active during screen lock will work. It'll take approximately 13 hours to get it to work properly and not bug out, but once you go through that arduous process for a negligible improvement you'll feel satisfied.
But seriously - this is the only way I can see you getting it done. I'm annoyed that the goddamned STOCK clock app won't show a timer on the 2nd screen, which is such an oversight it kills me.
Well, you could just install nova launcher and hide notifications bar and ta daaaa. Time, signal, and battery w/ percentage in 2nd screen. Your welcome. Lol.

Doesn't work for me. My second screen shows signal, time, and battery icon. And now I can't control my second window, ta daaaa.
i've been trying to find a way to do this as well. glad to see i'm not alone. i thought maybe an xposed module would do it..
It isn't perfect, but I did make a Tasker flasher for the 2nd screen that displays the current battery % every 10 seconds. Instructions on how to get it into Tasker are in the first post (the instructions are for a different ticker, but they apply to all of them).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=69401641
In that topic, I also have a new text message (done) and a missed call (possibly WIP) flasher too.

I'm confused, I can always get battery percentage to appear on the status bar of all my android phones. It's just unchecked in battery settings.
This thread was about putting it on the second screen which I don't believe is more than 2 years (still plenty of time though).
The second screen is useless to me. They should make it E-Ink or OLED, saves battery.
I rather have a notification light. Unless i'm using it wrong?

This small little app works for me.

You missed the keywords "just the percentage" as in.. hide the battery icon and only have percentage showing... Without the use of an app or root. And it was a generalized statement pertaining to either the main screen or the second.

If you do that then you can't scroll the second screen anymore. At least in my version of Nova.

Yeah. Your right. That's why I disabled it.
Second screen was a brilliant idea. But they came so short on modifications.

Change battery icon to show percentage?

So afaik there is no root yet for Sprint, but will this be needed to change the taskbar icons, such as the battery to show percentages and stuff like 3minit battery mod and stuff?
Thanks!

So I just got home from Sprint with my LG V20, and one thing that I'm trying to figure out is how to make the battery into a percentage instead of that old school CM style battery icon..?? I had a Note 5 and have had android since it first came out but I can't find this setting anywhere..
Thanks!

FYI if you want a percent on the second screen Batterybot was recommended by another xda member (sorry don't recall username). It works well except when you have too many statuses showing on the second screen it gets bumped from view once and a while.

I use battery widget reborn (free) for the same purpose on the second screen, However, it's always the first notification on the notification panel and the second screen when the main screen is off. I first used it on my G5 so I would always see my battery life on the always on display. It's also highly customizable with the look of the notification pull down menu, showing up to 10 toggles, and also the ability to show the battery chart without having to open the app.

battery percentage in status bar?

Are my blind or does the phone not have that option?
Hold the settings icon in the notification shade for 5 seconds. When you release, you'll have a new option at the bottom of the settings menu!
Nice! Thanks man! Any other secret stuff?
Can't get that to work on my device. Had the same problem on the Axon 7. Other devices have worked fine.

Search "Battery percent enabler" on the Play Store. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.kroegerama.android4batpercent
Figured it out. You have to have developer options turned off to activate. Then you can turn them back on.

On mine if had to be off. Worked right away once I turned it off. Someone mentioned it had to do with animations also.

I seriously can't read it. Is there a way to enlarge all the icons up top a tiny bit?
Oreo beta has percentage built-in. And it's nice and big beside the battery icon. So going forward we should be good to go.

Oreo or custom roms will have battery % showing. There are also apps in the playstore as well as other development posted on XDA essential phone this thread comes to mind
https://forum.xda-developers.com/essential-phone/themes/3minit-battery-mod-oreo-t3711365
If you have rooted and installed Xposed, Gravity Box lets you customize the status bar even more, things like text/icon colors, circle battery meter, or MIUI-style battery bar, or just percentage text with stock battery, etc.
And Gravity Box works with System UI Tuner (just turn off the battery in one of them, or you'll have two in the status bar).
Stock Nougat allows small battery percentage inside the battery icon.
Stock Oreo allows large battery percentage beside the battery icon.
I appreciate a minimal setup (including the status bar), so I prefer the small percentage inside the icon. But it's certainly harder to read than on Oreo.
