Anyone tried splitting SD Card? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone tried to split their SD Card to be able to use some for the internal adoptable storage and the rest as a normal SD Card?
I have problems with it, the partition that I'm using as the adoptable storage shows up as corrupt and the fix does not work for me. Anyone else had any luck with it? If so, what ROM are you using?
I'm running on AICP 7.1.1.
This link here shows you how to do it.

migrating to new SD card with adoptable storage enabled

Hello,
Just wondering if anybody has any knowledge on how to install a new SD card when you already have adoptable storage enabled. I'm assuming I could power down the phone and copy everything over, but my new SD card is 200gb vs 128gb installed. I'm worried the partition table wouldn't be set properly.
Any advice would be great!
Thanks,
Jaime
I haven't tried but perhaps unmounting the SD card would help?

The data stored on your card must be moved back to the internal storage in order to avoid breaking your apps. You can do that from the internal storage menu. If you can't fit everything, you'll have to delete things until you're under the limit. At that point, you can go back into the SD card storage menu and format it as "portable", meaning it will work in other devices. If there's any data still on it, you will lose it. Then put in the new card and set it up for "adoptable" as the previous card was.

Application storage problem

I have added a 32gb SD Card but I can't even update applications as the rom is too low 8GB I believe. And it's occupied by os mostly. I moved all the apps to sd card but still the apps don't get moved completely from internal storage. And after update the apps get back to internal storage.
How do I get rid of this annoying problem!!?
Try factory resetting, maybe its a bug

So this doesn't happen to anyone else?
Also I noticed when I move app to sd card it doesn't completely move it. say a 222mb app after moving to sd card, it shows 167mb on device storage and 2xx on sd card!
I had that problem.. I partitioned my sd card, I downloaded link2sd plus and I was able to move the whole app to sd card, it's better to use the option link to sd card rather then the option move to sd card, your apps run properly when you link instead of move.. I also installed a custom rom , Igot memory for days

Yes, you cant completely move all app data on sd card. Try link2sd if it works

Download root essential from playstore
Open the app and select storage.
Now click on adoptable storage and the click on adopt.
Now download ASPlugin.zip from google.
Now flash the zip file from the Flasher given in root essential.
All Done.
Now you can use sd card as adoptable storage in settings.

On custom rom or stock rom?
I have exactly the same issue. Tookk me a while to realize it was on SD, but now it is confirmed. If I take pictures (or I receive pictures on whatsapp) they are fine for a few mins and than they disappear. In some cases just a few mins after disappearing I can find an icon with a trinagle and a !. How did you solve the issue? did anyone else experience it? Is Huawai aware of this issue with their phones?
I have same problem on my P9 EVA-L19. Phone somehow locked SD card, and no changing content, but I can see all content. It is NOT POSSIBLE to add or delete files, even to format card. My card is Transcend 64 GB Class 10. Phone is not rooted, I use Android 7.0, never playing around with custom roms.
Is this fixable? Can we somehow solve it?
I have the same. Currently on my 3rd card now in almost a year.
I learned the hard way to replace the card the first time my phone finds corrupt files.
There seems to be no return from that, only temporary fixes.

[SM-G900F] SD card and External SD card issue

I'm on Android 7.1.1 resurrection remix, and I often get the message that my storage space is insufficient. I checked the storage info and it says that for example my Spotify is using 2gb, while the Spotify app says it's saving onto the SD card.
I installed link2sd and checked the storage info, and it shows my internal data, SD card and external SD card. I think the problem here is that the SD card is the same as my internal data, and apps are saving to this partition (see screenshot).
Is there any way I can fix this? For example by removing the "wrong" SD card partition? Right now this is causing a lot of issues, since I only have ~14gb to use instead of the ~46gb I'd normally be able to use.
Thanks in advance!

J500fn adoptable storage

I have an UHS 3 micro SD card but when I use it with my current ROM as adoptable storage slows it down drastically. Was wondering if there's another ROM I can use with pixel launcher that would utilize the SD card faster
I am currently using RR 5.8.5

Hi wings02760,
as far as I know the original Samsung ROM does not allow format as internal, so I assume you did soemthing before to enable that option? Or where did you find it to format as internal.
Thanks, Gescha
I have Resurrection Remix installed
I had the same problem, but I repaired it. I have RR too. Put your card to your computer and format it with Windows (I recommend full format, not fast). Then, you put your SD card to your phone and format it as an internal storage. If that won't work, I have no idea how to help you, except of buying another SD card.
