Custom ROMs with 24-bit audio support, is it possible? - Lenovo Vibe K4 Note Questions & Answers

I've recently found that the Lenovo K4 Note features a Wolfson WM8281 DSP, and the codec supports 24-bit and 192 kHz output. I use Poweramp alpha player and I enabled Hi-Res Output (Lenovo Hi-Fi variant), but I found out Lenovo didn't implement 24-bit audio decoding, only 16-bit output. Basically, it has the hardware to output 24-bit, but it's disabled at software level on stock ROM. I checked audio_policy.conf in /etc folder to confirm, and indeed there is no single mention of 24-bit ouput whatsoever. Is it possible to implement 24-bit audio decoding and output with a custom ROM? Or the necessary drivers weren't released by Lenovo or MediaTek?

[Q] 5.1 Audio Support (Dolby or DTS encoding) on Nexus 10

Hey folks,
I was reviewing a PDF about the Samsung Exynos 5250, and discovered this information within it:
One channel AC-97, three channel PCM, and two channel 24-bit I2S audio interface that supports stereo channel audio and one channel 24-bit I2S audio interface that supports 5.1 channel audio

Any idea if we'll be able to play back Dolby/AC3 or DTS encoded audio/video files?

This only partially addresses the decoding issue. I believe the question is whether the device will be able to play DTS streams in full (not trimmed to 2 channels) via a digital connection - MHL.
Anyway this is what I'm looking for.

Audio output

Is there a way to change our audio output to 24-bit 192khz audio output? I believe it can be changed from audio_policy.conf file have anyone tried that? Or is there another way to do so?

According to this topic in the Oneplus forums, it has been down by design. Is there a mod or something that you can do in order to unable it?

No, since otherwise, your headphones wouldn't work. You can't use AptX HD on a headphone that only supports AAC or SBC. If your headphones support both AptX and AAC, the system will let you change that. The same goes for the rest of the settings. Every BT headphone supports the SBC standard, headphones that are Apple branded (AirPods, Beats) and others use AAC and higher priced BT headphones with Qualcomm chips support AptX (HD) and AAC. Higher end Sony headphones use LDAC. All of these support the lowest quality standard SBC. There's absolutely no need to any of these, since it would just break things.

aptX

Anybody know how to enable Qualcomm aptX to work with Bluetooth headphones?
snapdragon 430 does not support aptx codex, even you have aptx library.
maximum codec for bluetooth is aac codec, you need enable this in bluetooth device setting > HD Audio.

Bluetooth codec question. DO you have LDAC on your phone?

Could anyone with the phone double-check their bluetooth codec options?
Being Android 8.1.0, it should have LDAC ... and that is extremely important to me. But it's missing from my phone. I have tried installing JamesDSP through Magisk, and it works, however I do not see how to enable its LDAC so its running everything through SBC or whatever that low-quality sounding codec is called.
Thanks.
Brian
I also wondered if such audio drivers like LDAC enabling is similar to having 4K 265H codec built in to the chipset & not a question of software updates can enable.....
