*Request* Someone Please Port the given ROM for Our Harpia , would be of great use :) - Moto G4 Play Questions & Answers

MIUI 8

There are several problems with this base ROM:
It's built for ARM64, and, while our devices support it, Motorola have decided that it's better to run 32bit Android (don't know why but ok)
Its base is Android 4.4 KitKat. The G4 Play ships with 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
A much better choice would be the Moto G3 (2015)'s MIUI ROM here (base 6.0.1/CM13, 1GB RAM/8GB storage variant) since it is based on Marshmallow and runs 32-bit. I have tried to port it but it is stuck on the boot logo.

Thank you, I will definitely try, but it probably won't succeed because it is based on 5.1.1 while the Moto G4 Play ships with 6.0.1. I will let you know if it works.

Android 7.0

Since google released the source, did anyone try building aosp 7.0 yet?Even xperia m managed to boot it XD
Since we have snapdragon 410 and with our kernel,Im pretty sure its compatible,1gb ram does the job too.

Moreover, there is another device Wileyfox Swift with almost the same specs as our phone has (the only difference is that in Wileyfox users have 2 gb of RAM). Still, enthusiasts managed to compile almost fully working ROM on AOSP 7.0 for that device. I think, that what is needed for our device is kernel. Once we have a kernel that supports Android 7, I guess it'll be easy to port that ROM for our device. I wish I were a dev to do all of that by myself

That ROM is ARM64 and kernel is compiled accordingly for x64. And the AOSP 7.0 ROM for Wileyfox is ARM.

Porting Nougat 7.0 from Motorola Moto G 2015

Is it possible.Moto G has same pixel density and same screen resolution and chipset
Please do it it would be great
CM Actions , Kernel Selinux Changes where will they go its better to compile from source
I am a begginer i dont fully understand the whole concept of building or porting roms. But anything will work
You can give it a shot.Same kernel and chipset, should work.I will test it for sure.
Well im not good at porting i would need some help and mentoring but i would like to see Nougat run on Lenovo a6000
How about Yu Yuphoria? Same everything there too. And they've got a working build already too.
Redmi2 or prime also got nougat. Mostly ported roms frm this phone also. Pls cjeck it out...

Yes,indeed.I can check it out, there was a tutorial how to port roms somewhere here.Redmi 2 ports are usually pretty stable.
Allright, thats the nougat for redmi 2.Its not public yet,but seems quite promising.Guess we will have to wait until its uploaded, but if I get some free time before that I might try to port the moto g3 build(just for fun,of course it wont be as stable as redmi 2 port).
I would also try porting it using mshoaib7s guide but question is which rom to use as base

Moto G4 Play on 64bit mode

We all know that the Moto G4 Play, has a 64bit processor, which currently runs the system in 32bit mode. Will the device have enough power to run Android Nougat (or Marshmallow) in 64bit? Would you gain more performance? I think it has enough RAM.
Well all Moto products have this issue. It can only be fixed by Moto devs(though i read that some xda devs were able to do so but thats not official and some bugs are still there.) Moto has becoming quite disappointing since they released the update for N in Jan of 2018, after 1 and half year of N, and that to only brazil and some other countries. Lol, i dont know what are they trying to achieve with this.

I think if the devs who developed the 64-bit version for g4 (Athene) try, they may be able to create a stable kernel and ROM, but there are few devs for harpia

SM-T560 Lolipop

Hi guys! GSM Arena says that this tablet comes with Android 5.1 a.k.a Lollipop. My Tab E is 4.4.4 a.k.a KitKat. Sammobile has no Android 5 or later version for this model.
Is there any particular reason to go custom or not? Thanks.
That's because they're listing both the international and the US version. The US model has a Snapdragon 410 cpu, and received a Lollipop update. I'm not sure why they left out the majority of Tab E users, because performance-wise, the international Spreadtrum T560 model is even a tiny bit better, at least compared to a Galaxy A5 2015 with SD 410 chipset.

The Spreadtrum-based T560 is a fair bit slower than the Qualcomm-based T560NU. The T560NU and 8-inch Galaxy Tab A have the same hardware (other than screen resolution) so if you look at a page such as this, anywhere you see "Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8" you can assume the T560NU would perform the same.
Performance differences aside, I can only guess that Spreadtrum never updated their code for anything above Kitkat. I guess they're about as reliable as MediaTek as far as updates go.
T561m
I have a t561m that also stayed in Kitkat. A feather. Also I can not find another Rom to update.

From what I've read about the site it's difficult to register & you have to pay to download though that part seems to be through forum points.
Here is lolipop and marshmallow ROM for SM-T560
I was looking around on 4pda forum and came across cm 11, 12.1, 13, and 14.1 here is
Cm 12.1 running lolipop
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BylEf8QZTNxZSkZUeDZIb0h3Tms/view?usp=drivesdk
And here is cm 13 running marshmallow 6.0.1
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ewM0DjQ4ee8sR9qd4n4XC8ZrrH9_Tedi/view?usp=drivesdk
After you have installed which version you want then download google gapps for what you need here is that link as well
https://opengapps.org
And if you want to take a look at the other ROMs yluse the google web I tool to translate the page into English when on 4pda forum or 4pda tab e t560 enjoy.

Doesn't look like any are for the T560NU. The one for CM13 comes closest, labeled as "gtelwifi", but that's not the T560NU. The others look (by name) even further off the mark.
SHHHH... I can´t believe that. I´ve been struggeling with that for years. Trying to update my old TABE 9.6 SM-T560 to some newer Android than 4.4 KitKat. I need to run a certain app on it, that supports 5.0 and newer only. I´ve used this rom "And here is cm 13 running marshmallow 6.0.1"
And it works like magic. With gapps 6.0 pico - I can even get to the play store. Unbelievable!!!!
Thanks a ton!!!! Heaven on earth!
good stuff

can confirm 14.1 nougat works with T560 (getlwifi) tho it shows as model T561 in sysinfo, only gripe is recent apps button no work & RAM has decreased a whopping 1 Gb, use proper TWRP & don't LET TWRP flash SuperSU flash the zip yourself from within twrp.
pico 7.1 gapps is required for cm 14.1
edit: been using for 2/3 months, most stable, no complaints.

Want to upgrade my tab 4 7.0 (sm-t239) to lollipop or higher please

Hello! I just want to update my galaxy tab 4 7.0 (sm-t239) lte to android 6.0 or higher
Any custom os or rom would do. Help me if anyone knows please
Thanks in advance!
No. Basically Impossible. The marvel pxa1088 chip in this device, never had it's sources (of drivers for hardware, to make a higher version of android work on this device and successfully activate and use the hardware) released. Developers essentially have nothing to start with.
Someone reverse engineered, supposedly from the stock firmware, and built an android 5.0 lollipop ROM but it is definitely impossible to use as essentially NOTHING worked, including Wi-fi.
So unfortunately you can't. Better buy a phone/tablet with exynos/Snapdragon chipsets inside as those got more support.
Blisspop 4.0.1 - Android 5.1.1 - UNOFFICIAL - Degaswifi - SM-T230 / NU
Thanks to sub77, we got a booting Android 5.1.1 ROM. Downloads: ROM: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347819963 Recovery: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B5EVF8f93NAlWUFWeHRjdXFXMkE What is highly recommended? DON'T INSTALL...
forum.xda-developers.com
Well DO NOT INSTALL IT! THIS IS JUST A SAKE OF TELLING YOU HOW WILL HAPPEN IF YOU INSTALL ANDROID 5.1 ON THIS TABLET. WIFI AND ANYTHING DOES NOT WORK!
