Huh? Wha? That's a fix for screen flickering?
Op, search youtube for S7 Edge screen flickering and be amazed! Brand new S7s were doing that.
If you slide the brightness to max, it should stop. Or if bright light hits the dimming sensor, it stops.

Exactly, at max brightness stop.
But i think is hardware.
And when gets more hot it's worst.

I had the same problem on MM but fixed all problems on Nougat.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/88bdtdgqvraah85/pwmfree-v11_g935.zip?dl=0

Most likely an issue with the AMOLED PWM implementation/controller, the flicker free Kernel doesn't use PWM to control Brightness.
So this might be an suitable workaround for users without warranty or possibility of repair.

Always on display and night clock issue

Hi guys
Recently I developed a problem where the entire screen is dimly lit when the night clock and always on display are used. It seemed to just happen out of nowhere, nothing that I did that I can think of but it sort of defeats the purpose of having it on an oled display if every pixel is lit. Phone is on the latest update, never rooted, and the always on display is at the latest version. I have tried everything up to a full factory reset. Any help is greatly appreciated.
One thing to add, I even tried flashing a new firmware through odin
I'm having the same problem. Did you manage to find a fix?

No. Seems that we're not the only ones with the issue but nobody seems to know anything about it. I was hoping the latest update would fix it, but no. My current theory is that it's a bug in the always on display driver, but that seems to be updated through the galaxy app store. If anyone knows how to revert to an old version of always on display, it may be helpful.
Well, spoke to Tmobile, getting a replacement phone.
Same issue here (it glowed in the dark); called TM for replacement. All better now
Thx for the tip.

Yea, it seems like a rare problem, but definitely a hardware fault. Oh well, got a brand new, non-refurb device, thanks to Tmobile. Glad it worked out for you.

Same is happening with Moto X Play of my friend ( 15 months old) and my phone ( just completed 12 months). No fix, i recently created a thread for the same. i guess rooting is the only option. there is also non-rooted option of downloading app and hiding the issue called " Blue screen filter fpr eye care"

Yes, they are
Mine got rid of the screen retention with 240 on all channels. Not tinted.
Just flashed LOS on my G4 Plus and have ghost screen. Never had this before on stock (neither MM or N). I went into settings/display/live display/color calibration and set red/green/blue all to 91% (somebody posted this in the G4 forum, kudos to that person). It takes about 5min and the ghost screen disappears and stays gone during boots. Have not tried to go back to stock to test if it's there as well.

Just a question

Why does the Moto G4 Play screen keep flickering when I am doing normal activities or changing to a live wallpaper. Once it just flickered so hard that the entire screen went black for 12 seconds and then it was back. Usually flashes for 3 seconds. I did not root or do anything to my device can you please help me

I have it happen here and there. A flicker or two for me. Happened on my G3 also. I think it's a 6.0.x issue, and not a phone issue. It doesn't really bother me though.

Thank you very much for the clarification, the truth that there is not much information of the update, we have to wait
The only way to stop this flickering is to root. What are you doing in XDA without rooting the phone? Flash TWRP using a PC with minimal ADB and fastboot and Motorola Drivers installed.

My phone is rooted. I have TWRP. The screen flickers in normal activities.
Flash a custom ROM. My fav is ZephyrOS because it gave my phone great performance than the stock one. It stopped the flickering too.

Flashed CM 14.1 and the issue is solved! Thanks!
I've had my phone stock for ages, never once saw a flickering screen...
YMMV I suppose.
What do you mean by YMMV. Noob question, sorry.
I read somewhere that you can stop the flickering disabling the MotoDisplay.
I don't use it, and mine doesn't flicker.

Hi Ashutosh, I'm experiencing the same issue. While building and modding SomefeaK Kernel y ended up realizing that it's most likely to be a hardware problem since I solved the graphics driver bugs with the SELinux policy modification I made by doing some research about the SuperSU binaries.
This way, EGL doesn't crash anymore but the screen keeps flickering.
Screen flickering is also present in the recovery which is what I believe a confirmation about this being a hardware bug.
We could try asking Motorola a replacement if we present a complaint to them, even with an unlocked bootloader. Why? In my case, the temperature caused by this hardware bug melt the volume keys painting (decolored them).

[FIX][SD] Display Burn In Issue On Redmi Note 4

Read The FullThread First
So I was having screen burn issue on my Redmi Note 4 Snapdragon varient and I was really sad to see burn in issues after flashing Resurrection Remix ROM.
Burn in issue didn't happen to me before but after I flashed Custom ROM, I started noticing it.
So then I went to Service Centre and I showed them the issue.. They replaced my LCD Panal.. I was happy and thought I'd not get burn in issue again.. But nope.. It happened again..
Then I started searching for posts about burn in issue.. And finally on this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-4/help/screen-burn-mido-3-32-tianma-display-t3673540 @muzaffarsyam
posted a fix for this.. So first I thought it was a hardware issue but after trying his solution, I realised that it was actually software issue.. It's Actually Colour Calibration issue..
All You need to do is set the "Colour Calibration" as shown in the attachment and It will fix the issue.. This is tested by me and @muzaffarsyam and so far it's working fine.. He has given me the permission to make a thread for this issue...

Hi, good thing we come to conclusion to solution, everything I do before this thread started not working.
I`ll try to sett the contrast to Cool (MIUI) since only this logic solution.
I try to check the LCD on CIT and the issue not showing, so I`m 60% sure this is software/setting issue

Dark bleeding - 1 month old

Hello guys, I'm new on Mi 9t, I have it since one month now.
I'm running 11.0.5 global (waiting for miui 12) and everything is working smootly (a part some heating problems and battery drain).
Yesterday I noticed a BIG strange spot on the right side of the display only when I have a black/dark theme (for example on Telegram) and when brightness/light around the phone is low.
I tried to googled it but I didn't find anything useful and still don't understand if it's software or hardware. I just get that is a common issue of AMOLED screen but in 2020 I don't get how this is not fixable lol.
Any suggest?
Thanks in the advance and I wish you a happy day!
Nope, every AMOLED is like that. Tested even on the S10 plus. No worries
