This makes a huge difference in sound quality compared to the stock equalizer built into the j7 and adds extra bass. For some reason it works really well with the j7 and a few other devices.

How would you consider the S5's Audio Quality?

There are some blogs and reviews that I've read, including that from GSMArena that says both the S5 and M8 are almost superb in sound quality, the M8 stands out because of the dedicated Speakers and Audio Hardware and better volume levels. For me, I don't care much for the Speaker, but it's the phones music quality thru the headset that counts for me. I was happy with the S3 back then, but was disappointed when I tried The S4 (i9500) which has the same Wolfson Audio Chip that the S3 has. Till AndreiLux used the Wolfson Audio Control in his Perseus Kernel, which vastly improved the audio quality of the S4. I was happy with that.
Now, there is a Sound Boost Mod available here. If I were to use that, would you think that it can be on the same level of the M8, or even surpass it?
Hoping for anyone's response to this.
Many thanks.
Call sound quality is good for me tbh. It's very clear so far even when i'm at a loud setting such as bar/clubs. Actually, just yesterday at a post run party in an event I attended, I was able to hear the people I was talking to, despite being in a semi-concert environment and the phone being inside a zip lock plastic bag. Speaker and default ring volume are crap though.
Sound quality is and never will be as loud and clear as the M8. However the S5 does have a better speaker than a lot of other high end smartphones.
But one thing that I got annoyed with is the back vibrating when using the speaker!! due to the rubber on the back to keep it waterproof.
Root the S5 & install Viper4Android and you will be satisfied, I'm currently using the HTC Beats Audio IRS on my S5 and it sounds great.
Thanks to the developer of Viper4Android!!

[sm-510f] Sound quality sucks

Hi,
I’ve change my broken GS3 (i9300) for a A5 2016 (sm-510f).
On my GS3, I had boeffla kerner which brings great sound improvements. When I listen to music on my A5, it's so poor ! Is there a way to have a better sound quality on this phone ?
Thanks.
maybe yes, test some soundmods look for androidexpert threads with his soundmods and use a good equalizer app like viper and a player like poweramp or player pro, when sound is to low u can look for my thread about it,good luck.

Audio quality with V4A and Arise?

So it's not a secret that the S8 is not as good as let's say HTC 10 for audio, yesterday I tried my own earphones on a S8 and while the volume is loud enough, you feel it still need a small volume boost and certainly a better dynamic range and clarity.
So for people who tried on their Exynos S8 V4A or V4 Arise, what do you think of the sound quality?
Can you reproduce the Boomsound deep sound quality or not really?
I am talking small earphones like KZ and Xiaomi Pistons

No idea about the HTC10 but I have a M8 and a S8, the M8 can drive my big sennheiser HD 215's easily to proper listing levels where as the S8 can not but but for the Momentum IEM's both are very evenly matched I am using PowerAmp+V4A on both and with a bit of equalizer magic it sounds awesome on both and the lack of punch is taken care off using the Preamp slider.
There is only one thing I noticed that paints the S8 in a bad light that is shuttering overwhelming bass in certain tracks but that can be taken care of with use of the "Limit" tab but it introduces a weird wavy effect thus I found it best to turn the bass a bit low. The end result is the S8 and the M8 with similar audio signatures but a little less bass on the S8.
Also for higher volume you can also use this:

and I followed this guide for V4A:

Best ROMs for audio or stock is good help guys

Hey guys hope your zte axon 7 is still rocking ,well I am using my axon 7 for last 3 year and after a battery replacement it's now as good as new never tried custom ROMs coz of audio performance but now I want to try new ROMs for speed but can't compromise with audio quality can any one help me out choosing rit custom ROMs .thanx in advance
I don't know if there is a huge difference in sound between custom roms.
Mostly, it depends on equalizer like Dolby Atmos, V4A, JamesDSP, DTS:X etc.
But, there's a catch in custom rom, they use high quality dac on headphone and you can't switch it back to standard dac. I have one pair of headphone which sounds a little bit worse on High Quality mode than on Standard Quality. Don't know why and I really don't care that much.
Personally, I prefer Viper4Android to Dolby Atmos, due to many options in V4A, which let you fit - let's just say - to your sound preference.
I only miss surround virtualization from Dolby Atmos for movies.
I tried several Surround IRS but didn't found anything worth.
Using unofficial Lineage OS 15.1 (from Unjustified Dev), Bladder Kernel with Viper4Android 2.6.0.5 (using this version due to conflict between Selinux Enforced and Convolver).
Speaker Optimization sounds pretty bad, I recommend to try some of IRS for Convolver.
That one below, sounds pretty, it even gives nice bass but it didn't work on V4A 2.7.0.0 and doesn't sound same on JamesDSP like on older V4A.
Edit: Just be aware of volume, some of IRS may be louder than original volume and may damage your speakers.

I have very similar set now with latest unoff. Lineage, with beta baddar kelner, viper fx with xhr soundplus convolver, musicfx + removed audiofx, gcam 6.1.021 and etc.
I am quite satisfied with the sound and experience which i have from adwanced tweaking

Based on Lineage 19.1. The sound quality of the built-in speaker of the Galaxy Tab S5e is not good.

After several days of continuous use, I found that the sound quality was definitely not rich and the bass was not good.
So I installed Viper4 Android 2.7 and used Payback gain control, FIR equalizer (option is acoustic) Finally, I am using Impulse response as 2F2F.sound for Convolver
The sound quality has definitely increased and became rich, but if the volume is raised to 80 to 85% or more, the sound is crushed and slightly torn.
So I want to find a suitable EQ for the Galaxy Tab s5e, which is based on Lineage 19.1, so could you tell me a good value or show me what you are using?
