Image viewing issues in stock gallery - LG V20 Questions & Answers

Hi Everyone,
I would to share an issue with you all, I'm using LG V20-H990. I got this phone at around Nov 2016? It was working fine then until a month later...
I was taking a few photos of sceneries to test out the camera and basically fiddle around with the settings to get different effects. But at the end of the day, when I wanted to see back all the photos I took. It seems to show this weird icon of a "Gallery icon with a Triangle sign with an '!' in it at the bottom right of the gallery icon" (I'm sorry if the description isn't that great.) Somehow my pictures are gone but they are still in my gallery?
I also got myself a 64gb SD Card to try to counter the problem. But it resurfaced even so. I looked up online and found out this is a rare case and not many people face them? Some of them provided solutions to when I try them, it is to no avail. It still shows the icon.
Does anyone else faces this issue? Could it be something to do with the software? If anyone have the solution here please it would a great help as I have a lot of photos and they all mean something to me. I wouldn't want to open up my gallery and found that all of them are gone...
Thank you.
Regards,
M.AFKR

Problem with X1 camera

Hi all,
I use Itje's Touch-IT version 7 and my camera is misbehaving. Sometimes when I take a picture, it takes about 30 secs before the camera is ready for the next shot. Worst still I'm unable to view the JPG pictures with windows explorer. When I display albums I see the pictures but when I view them through touch IT I see only color bars. When I download them to my laptop the same thing happens. First the images appear well then one by one they become colored bars. Is there any reason for this? And oh, my video clips cannot be read as well.
Any pointers to how to view these pics and solve the problem will be appreciated.
TIA
best thing to do in this situation is address it where you found it. ask in the
v7 thread or actually do a search before you ask. also before you do any of this, 1st take into consideration was this worth a new thread?

Let's all be nice to each other. It's only bytes.
I'm having the same problem with pictures taking forever to save occasionally, but with stock R2AA. Might just be because I have too many things running.
Thanks for the support. Actually I did perform a search but did not get a suitable answer. In my case there weren't many things running and I doubt if the active data connection was the problem. The real problem is how the thumbnail previews appear well but the full view always fails.
The camera version is 6.5 (build 34231). Will check the forums for anything ontoward with this build.
Thanks once again.

I've started wondering whether the geotagging function might cause delays, e.g. as the phone is getting a gps lock? Shot in the dark but might be worth turning off geotagging (if you ever had it on).
Agreed this belongs in the v7 thread...
Would help if you told us whether you were using the HTC canera or the Sony Ericsson camera.
My guess would be you're using the HTC camera and have it set to 5MP when it only supports 3.
I'm sorry I posted here instead of the v7 thread. You guessed right though. I'm using the HTC camera but I've set the resolution to 3M. Geotagging might be the issue. I'm going to remove it and replace it with the SE camera. I've lost quite a bit of good photos which can't be repaired.

Phototab not updating picture count

Hi all,
I'm wondering. I got a lot of pics on my HD2, which I made with the camera. I think almost 300 pics. But the counter keeps telling me that only 99 pics are count. What could be the solution to this? Deleting the icon cache doesn't seem to work because it counts to 99 even after a hardreset. Or does the counter simply not go further than 99?
Don't know why but this similar happened on every rom, I've tested.
it's a bug.
i find a simply solution: rotate the screen (in landscape mode) and magically all pictures appear
in vertical position there's a limit of 99 photos. (crazy -.-)
i'm waiting a fix for this problem since a was born!
I noticed the same thing....strange
any solution to fix this
I am using Dutty;s Lates v25 Rom
Thanks all.

I have the exact same problem with a couple of days old Galaxy S GT-I9000 ECLAIR. Did a factory reset but it did not help. Going to take it back.
In case someone is interested in what kind of files are produced by the camera, you can find a sample here:

Cannot open it with anything. Interesting...

[Q] Camera and SD Card

Sup, ppl?
Hey, I have a new X8 phone (3 weeks old) and I have a major issue with my camera from day 1!!! It's all glitchy and blurry, with wrong lighting and i can't take pictures at all. Sometimes when I repair the update with PC Companion or SEUS it gets to work again, but after using the phone for some time, it bugs again, especially after playing Angry Birds (even for just once!!!). I have never rooted my phone, it's all original.
I had it repaired by the service center, they said they just ran a software update (and I had the latest version) and I don't know how all my apps were still on the phone (I never manage to do this, everytime I repair the update I lose all my apps, how can I keep them?). I searched the web for several hours and haven't found anyone with my problem. I have posted question on SE support forums and on their Facebook page, but no one seems to help me. I think I'm having this unit replaced.
Another thing is that I formatted my SD card, and I thought I could get the original content again, but I was wrong. I had the "music" folder backed up, but I don't have the "media" folder. I lost some of the alarms (like the "multi alarm" one) and the notifications. Can someone upload the media folder for me please?
Thanks for all the help.

What did u mean blurry? Maybe this phone does no come with an auto focus camera that why when you take picture will blur. Correct me if i'm wrong.
It's not exactly blurry, but it look horrible. For example if you edit a picture and you start messing with hue, saturation or color balance. The more you mess, the worse it gets. The display shows an bad colored looking picture and taking pictures does not work. Tried searching everywhere but can't find anyone with similar problem.
Can you post some photos? The best would be if you could put the phone fg on a table and take a photo without moving it at all. Cause to me it looks like either the camera itself is the issue or something wrong with software, if you're saying that when you mess with settings it gets even worse.

It's not that I can mess with the settings, the camera app doesn't have ANY settings to mess. The messing with settings exampled I used was about using a photo editor and try messing with the color levels or hue/saturation of any picture. My camera is displaying a screwed up image as if there was some color filter applied to it, someting that would react really poorly to lighting. Just like if you picked up a 16 million color picture with many gray colors (variant colors) and you converted it to like 256 colors, it would look really poor. That's the image my camera shows.
And did you try others apps for camera? Maybe there's something wrong with it. If not - go for warranty

It happens to any camera app.
I'm an IT guy and I know sometimes unexplainable things happen with hardware/software. Today when I woke up, when I was going to put the phone in the pocket for leaving home, it slipped and fell to the ground scattering parts all over (cover and battery). After rassembling it i thought: "Wtf? I'll try the camera!". And believe or not: it was working PERFECTLY. And is perfect to this very moment. Some problems just don't have a reasonable explanation.
Original SD Content
Now the only missing piece is the original SD content, which I happened to wipe out unadvertedly. I tried some undelete tools, but none found the data, and I probably already overwrote all the data with many backups that I made.
So, if anyone could be very kind to post me the media folder contents (with the alarms and everything) and also the pictures that came in the images folder I guess?
Thanks, ppl.

Help needed to fix camera and display brightness

Dear fellow xda members, I recently bought a OnePlus 6T as was tired of the Samsung's. I wanted something with more room to play so to speak. So I got myself the 6T. But I ran into 2 very annoying problems. The first one is that I cannot take video's and play them back. I am on OS 9.0.5. When I take a video of my kids and after that go to the gallery, there is a black square and when I want to play it, I get the error message "couldn't play video" . I can take pictures and view them. I installed Open Camera from the playstore and that app couldn't do anything. It only shows a black screen and won't take a picture or video.
The 2nd problem is that the screen is too dark a lot of the time when on adaptive brightness, is there a way to tweak this?
I really hope someone can help me with especially the video problem.
Just reporting that videos from both stock camera and Open Camera work great for me. Maybe you need to do a factory reset as it sounds like you have multiple issues with the camera.
As for the adaptive brightness I feel it is way too bright personally but do not know of a way to adjust it any. I have searched for any way to change it with no luck.
