6P High pitched tone when plugged into charger (Dog Whistle High Frequency) - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My 6p has developed a high pitched tone when plugged into the charger. The tone is so high in frequency that it is almost above human ear +22,000 Hz, young folks hear it louder than this old guy. This happens every time when plugged into various charging devices; stock, mobile, and other chargers including computer tether. It's not coming from the charger.
The tone lasts for exactly thirty seconds out of both speakers, then there is pop and the tone mutes.
I can plug the charger in wait 10 seconds then remove the power from the USB-c plug, and the tone will continue without external power for 20 more seconds. Always ending after 30 Seconds.
Adjusting volume level changes the audible tone level up and down. At 3/4 volume or lower I can't hear the tone anymore. I run volume at max most of the time since the speaker level has always seamed low to me ever since I bought the device.
When hooked to my mobile in-car blue tooth the tone will seize car stereo audio for the 30 seconds until the tone quits. The tone is outside the the bluetooth/radio high passband, so I only hear the tone through the speakers on the phone.
This problem started just after 7.0.1 dropped and also just after my 12 month warranty
I have search the interwebs, but can't find others with the same problem. Anyone else?
Thanks,

Earphone plugged in causes phone to end call

Hi
Wondering if this is a prob with the earphones or the xdaII unit
Can make calls etc fine. However, when i plug the standard earphones in and make a phone call, i get cut off about 3 seconds into the call. I can hear through both earphones. Tried fiddling with the socket, but nothing gives.
Fault in the audio connector?
I've had this happen, I've also had a call drop when I plug the unit in for charging.

Has anyone increased output sound volume on the phone yet? *#0002*28346# - Audio con

Love the phone but I think the audio volume output is totally junk.
Has anyone used *#0002*28346# - Audio control utility. or somethign similar to boost audio output on the audio jack?
Which audio output would this apply to? Or there just one? My Focus doesn't act like there's just one control.
Audio output level of the Zune player is definitely very low for me. Audio output level for the phone (ear) is just 'OK', but the speakerphone is very loud. Even if I turn it down to zero I can still hear the conversation. So strange.
... well I just went through that diagnosis screen and couldn't make heads or tails out of it. If anyone happens to figure that out, and determine if we can boost audio output from the headset jack that would be much appreciated!
I am specifically talking about the headset. I think the focus breaks it down like this: headset, speakerphone, earpiece.
Like you said, speakerphone is fine, if not too fine.
Earpiece is barely controllable while the headset (3.5 mm jack) is god awful.
There is currently a WP7 bug that causes game audio to impact audio on the phone. For example, if you are playing a game and you turn audio down to 15 (50%) and then exit the game, the highest volume level you can reach on the phone is 50%. Even if you then turn the volume up to 30 (100%), you are actually getting a level of 50%.
If you are encountering this problem, you'll notice that rebooting your phone will cause earbud/headphone volume to increase dramatically. An easier way to work around it is to go back into your game (any game with audio) and turn the volume back up all the way. If you then exit the game, audio levels should be good.
Microsoft is aware of this.

Interesting, thanks for the heads up!
I've tried *#0002*28346# but I don't know how to enhance the sound.
The sound is terrible in Focus.
Is there any way to install HTC Sound Enhancer? HTC HD7 it's much better volume in earphones.
I went to *#0002*28346#. Clicked read. Set system, class, and device gain to 10 (was 5 allthough some report it was 7). Volume was much higher via the headphone jack. I then read this thread regarding the game volume problem. I went into a game and put the volume all the way up. Went back to play audio via the zune hub. Volume was back to the low volume that it was originally at. I went back to *#0002*28346# and sure enough, The values reverted back to 5. So it appears the games are setting those values back to default every time you change the volume from within a game. I will have to test again, going into a game and not changing the volume to see if that too will reset it to default.
Do you guys mind complaining in this thread ..http://social.answers.microsoft.com...ad9-5e12-465d-a0fb-b9465179b436?prof=required
MS is still not taking any notice. It is kind of appalling to see such a nice phone as the Focus and Omnia suffer under such a silly bug.
Thanks Denis!!!!
It worked!
1 - PLUG YOUR EARPHONE
2 - ##634# TAPE CALL
3 - in diagnosis mode tape *#0002*28346#
4 - click GET on Device Gain
5 - in 'device gain' leave number 5, set 1500 (max) and -1100 (low)
6 - click set
7 - MAKE SURE AUDIENCE.CFG IS ON
reboot your phone (turn off, turn on)

Certain Pair of earphones constantly turn the volume down..

Hey, first off to make things more clear here are some facts:
Phone: Nexus 6P
Earphones: Betron DC950 Earphones
Music App: Spotify
Shed Location: Bottom of Garden
Bit of a weird one here...
I bought the earphones from amazon with the intentions of them being a 'daily driver' if you will.
However; when I use them when playing my drums (which is my shed) they constantly turn the volume down.
This does not happen straight away though, it ranges from 5-10 minutes (after starting a song).
When it does happen though, the volume is turned down in increments.
When I press volume up the volume does go up.... But then turns straight back down after.
This is the only happens in my shed...
And i've used another pair of earphone + headphones which Do not have this problem.
Any ideas?
I have this exact same problem with a pair of headphones which I got from ExtremeGuard.
Happened everywhere to me though..
I find it completely bizarre that it only happens in 1 location, which means there's got to be some electromagnetic interference or something. The earphones have volume toggle and play/pause button on them, maybe it could be that.
My earphones only have a mic, and no volume toggles though.
Got the exact same issue. This happens for me when there's noise around the mic. I tried shaking the mic and could clearly see the volume indicator showing that the volume drops in increments.
Did you find any kind of solution?

Need some help with a sound issue

I like to listen to audio books. So most of the time I leave my ear buds connected to the phone. Every android phone I've had. Has rang the ringtone at the volume. You have it set on the phone, when you get a call. But on my phone it rings so low you can barely hear it in a quiet room. I would say you wouldn't be able to hear it ring with a headset connected to the 3.5mm connector in a loud area. Is this issue just my phone or is there a setting I need to adjust. Any help is much appreciated
edit: also I've disconnected the earbuds while its ringing and it returns the ringtone to full volume. Yes I have turned the ringer volume up with the headset connected to the phone and that doesn't help
have you ever been able to figure it out? I'm having the same problem.

High pitched tone

Today my phone randomly started emitting a high pitched tone and it seems to be coming from the charger port. I have the sound muted. I've checked alarms and alerts and have disabled them along with some apps. Nothing is working.
I have begun hearing something possibly related. Sounds like an electrical buzz when i touch the screen while charging.
