I looked around but couldn't find a RUU...you should have only needed to flash twrp, then supersu to get root...trying flashing supersu, and your device should boot

I flashed TWRP, I will try to flash su and check

Is it possible to re-brand/ convert the device to sprint bolt?
then it will be easy to flash any bolt ROM

going to run over my friend's mytouch

So, he's running a custom ROM right now, the latest desire hd port, GB, etc.
Well, most everything else needs CWM 3.006 or whatever. So, I'm trying to flash that. BUT, his phone acts as if he doesn't have root. I't S-offed and has "su" (the app) but it just doesn't work.
Tried flashing cwm with fastboot, "permission denied"
Idk what else to do

i dont think you can flash using fastboot in .86.
if it wont boot to the rom try the PD15IMG.zip file to restore
if it boots to the rom, go back to the true s-off/permroot guide in the development section and flash your bootloader (there is directions at the bottom of the first post (the post with the instructions))
After that it should work for fastboot
You can alternatively flash recovery through rom manager (off of the market..the free version will do)

ROM Manager didn't work (again, couldn't obtain permissions).
So, I'm going to flash the ROM, hope for the best, then if $*&^ hits the fan, I'll result to flashing a diff bootloader.
Thanks for your advice, didn't think about flashing a diff booloader... used to my Cappy xD

have you tried using TrueBlue's recovery .zip it was the only way I could get either of my phones to take 3.0.0.6
HERE is the thread for it
Well, I flashed regardless of the 3006 req, and it went fine... Whatever lol.
thanks for the help and suggestions

fastboot for Aussie Razr M 77.176.16.XT905.Telstra.en.AU

Hi all
Just wondering if anyone has a copy of the official Australian Razr M release firmware.
77.176.16.XT905.Telstra.en.AU
Always good to have a fallback system image!
Thanks in advance

Hi, I am also looking for the same firmware, managed to root the phone using Motofail2go but unable to use Clockworkmod to backup or load other firmware. Now when I try to Erase the phone I get the AP Fastboot Flash Mode (s) Device is looked Boot Failure. Luckily pressing the power button gets me back to a working phone. I have also unrooted the phone using DoomLord unrooting script but still the same boot up error. I know now the bootloader is locked by Motorola, this is why I need the original Telstra firmware.
I will donate $ 20 by Paypal to anyone that posts a working 77.176.16.XT905.Telstra.en.AU firmware that I can use and fixes the boot issue.

Out of curiosity what CWM did you try to flash?
You do know that you CAN unlock your bootloader right? exact same procedure as Razr I. Yeah the moto website doesn't mention telstra Razr M model blah blah blah it works as confirmed by Ausdroid editor in this thread.

Hi I used CWM from Google Play and selected the Motorola Photon Q from CWM, maybe a mistake but no RAZR M was listed.
I registerd on the Motorola site to get the unlock key but there is a quite a process to complete the excersice. Rather just have my stock rom back and forget about rooting for now.

I dunno how experienced you are at this so I apologise if I'm getting mixed up here but:
a.) You will NEVER flash ANY RECOVERY aside from stock without unlocking your bootloader, and you don't flash CWM from google play (not even sure what you're referring to!!!). You CAN flash recoveries from rom manager if your bootloader is unlocked and you have root.
b.) The only recovery I've seen around the place confirmed for Razr M (unlocked bootloader) is this one
http://aosp.us/?p=294
If you think the steps in unlocking bootloader is too hard you shouldn't even attempt it. Sorry to say but thats pretty much standard stuff for flashing recoveries etc. !!!! (having drivers installed, using fastboot via command line etc.)

Hi Thanks for your help and comments, I have rooted my old HTC Desire using Unrevoked in the past and flashed a Cyanogen mod and a LeeDroid mod without any problems so I thought I would try the RAZR M. Maybe the boot loader was different or not locked. I was able to go into recovery mode and select the cooked zipped roms from the SD card. I can not find any roms for the Aussie RAZR M either, I guess that is what you are looking for and concerned about updating the the JB from for the Verizon version as the radio may be different.
Anyway, the Motorola UI is not so bad and I especially like to start page with the circles. Hopefully JB update will come OTA soon. I hope that the JB update will return my phone to stock and the Bootloader error does not come up anymore. All is fine for now but if I have to wipe my phone and start again I can not do it. Have you ended up using your Motorola unlock code to unlock the boot loader ?
I am not completely a newbie

No waiting for
- backup stock image for obvious reason!
- something to actually flash to appear!
BTW check this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33789915#post33789915 the comments from apacheo who has confirmed unlock and recovery install (TWRP though not CWM)

Thanks. did you mean now waiting, I guess u could mean either as apacheo has something available ? Looks like apacheo might be getting my $20 via paypal. So with the recommendation from apachio do I still have to unlock the booter. If yes, can this only be done via the Motorola site unlock code?
Will the stock Telstra image from apacheo fix my boot failure issue ? Will I need to have a rooted RAZR M and loader (TWRP) to load the file?
Thanks appreciate your help.
You shouldn't need to unblock bootloader to push the stock image. If its stock you should be able to flash it.
The whole point of unlocking is to be able to push NON OFFICIAL stuff however not having seen that image I can't confirm. e.g. Maybe because he extracted it himself its not signed like an official moto image so you may need to unlock.
If he has extracted a fastboot image it will INCLUDE stock recovery and you flash it via fastboot command line utility. Thats better than a ROM you have to flash with a recovery because it lets you roll back even if you screw your recovery.
All in all, ask him yourself, I'm only speculating based on first principles
BTW android manufacturers have gotten a lot more anal since desire, and yeah back then a lot of stuff was unlocked, now pretty much only Sammy ships unlocked bootloaders. I'd say that back then you could probably unlock the bootloader pretty easily so you don't remember jumping through hoops.

The stock recovery img is probably not going to fix your device.. sounds like you probably need the boot image, but how'd you manage to corrupt that?

Hi Apacheo, thanks for the reply, my procedure was as per my first post yesterday. Using Clockworkmod Rom Manger app I picked the Motorola Photon Q for Flash Alternate Recovery as this was the only close Motorola phone to the Razr M. (MY BAD) Maybe that was the problem. I tried to back up the existing rom using Clockworkmod but again got the AP Fastboot Flashmode error.
How do I get the boot image and load that? Meanwhile I have unrooted the phone and can use it. Just can't do a factory data reset and start with a new slate if I have to. Just hangs on the AP Fastboot Flashmode (S) black and white Device is locked screen.
Thanks, I was hoping to lose that $20 to u.
Flashing the stock recovery using fastboot is probably the best start.
I'll upload the recovery image and post the URL here. Wait a moment.

Thanks Apacheo, I assume I can use RSD Lite 5.4.6.4, how to open the 10 MB RAW file ? I know RAW as a picture file from a camera. Does the 10 MB file contain the whole Telstra ROM ?

No idea about RSDLite, you use Fastboot to flash that, and it's a raw dump of the Recovery partition. Flash it like this:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-file.raw
The extension is irrelevant, you could equally rename it .img (which is the standard for fastboot files) but it won't make any difference. It's not the whole Telstra ROM, just the recovery partition. The whole ROM would be something like 600 mb, and as I've modified my system partition (i.e. rooted it) you may not want that, and with only 3G internet, I couldn't upload it anyway

Hi apache, thanks again, HELP.
OK, I press vol up and vol down and press the power key at the same time. I get the menu boot load selection, availlable boot modes if I pick recovery or AP fastboot I still get back to the AP Fastboot Flashmode (s) screen Device is locked Status Code:0
I assume I get into recovery mode and use your raw file from my SD card to update the recovery partition. What am I doing wrong?
incorrect, you flash via fastboot command line in.... fastboot mode (not recovery mode)
Hey,
I'm hoping to help you guys out. First I have a couple of questions.
1) is your device bootloader unlocked?
2) are you rooted?
If so I have methods to create a backup XML file for you.

If you have methods to recover an Australian modem IMG (instead of the Verizon-based one) then I'm all ears.. because until I find an AU modem, my phone is now completely unusable.. whoops :/

If I had another, I'd just root it and dd the modem image off and flash it on the broken one.. sadly I don't
I managed to screw it up by flashing the VZW ICS stock, so I could get the JB update on.. I deliberately didn't flash the modem from the VZW ICS stock, and I modified the JB update so it wouldn't apply any changes to the modem... but seemingly, I missed a couple of lines (checking the updater-script, I missed a couple that messed with the modem) so it's completely wrecked. Says the SIM is invalid, and won't detect or connect to any UMTS or GSM carriers here.
If someone else with a rooted Aussie RAZR M is able to step up to assist, it'd be great.
I'll also PM you my details jdf.

[RUU][GUIDE]Lollipop A5_DUG firmware to fix WiFi

What:
the firmware.zip from hTC desire 816 dual sim A5_DUG CID:HTC__J15,HTC__001,HTC__A07 MID:0P9C70000 OTA update for Europe. (to check for your Device IDs, go to fastboot mode and type "fastboot getvar all")
Why:
users who update from Kitkat to Lollipop using TWRP/CWM backups instead of OTA, run into Wifi or touch problems because TWRP/CWM backups don't contain firmware updates. so by flashing this firmware, they can fix those issues. notice that your current ROM has to be 1.58.401.11 or 2.34.401.1. If you come from any other ROM, this file might not work properly or behave unexpectedly. of course you can try it at your own risk.
Where:
you can find the firmware.zip here (this naturally contains the stock 5.0.2. recovery, so if you need, you can extract it and get the stock recovery). you can also find proper OTA/TWRP/CWM Backups here.
How:
0- download firmware.zip and put it on the same folder as your platform tools (Adb/Fastboot) folder. a good source to get the minimal tools would be here.
1- Reboot your device to bootloader and choose fastboot (use power+volume down combination , or type "adb reboot bootloader" in console)
2- if you're S-On, you'll need to relock your bootloader. to do that, when in Fastboot, type "Fastboot oem lock". if you're S-off, you can skip the relocking part.
3- type "fastboot oem rebootRUU" to put the phone in firmware update mode. you'll see a silver hTC logo in the center of a black screen
4- type "fastboot flash zip firmware.zip" in console and press enter. (*this will also write 5.0.2. stock recovery so you'll lose your custom recovery)
5- type the same "fastboot flash zip firmware.zip" in console again.
6- type "fastboot reboot-bootloader" to reboot.
7-now, in order to have root and install custom recovery(TWRP/CWM) for restoring a Lollipop backup, you'll have to unlock bootloader again. you can try putting your old Unlock_code.bin in platformTools folder and typing "fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin". If that doesn't work, you'll have to go through the process of requesting a new Unlocktoken from htcDEV, which there are various guides for, around XDA.
8- Install TWRP again.
9- Now you can put your TWRP Lollipop backup on phone storage and restore it.
10- If all you need is to just install Stock recovery, download the firmware.zip and extract it. put the recovery.img file in your fastboot folder. then in fastboot mode, type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img. be warned that after this, you will lose your custom recovery and will not be able to use twrp/cwm to backup/restore/flash files.
Who:
This is a continuation of the work done by our good user, 12rithy. you can find necessary firmware for A5_DWG and for S-OFF devices in that thread..
also, the firmware was extracted from OTA uploaded by another good user, crash6x86. If you need the OTA or TWRP/CWM backups of it, you can find them at its thread here.

I'm afraid that's not possible for me. Also, if you find the instructions too confusing or complex, I advise against tempering with your device because you may run into problems at any stage and it would require a degree of skill and persistence to overcome. It probably won't be worth the effort unless your main motive is to gain experience.
Still, If you've done this before (unlocked and rooted your device, worked with custom recoveries and custom Roms) and if your device is the Europe Dual sim a5_dug, I'll try to help if any part is unclear or if you run into any problems in the process.
There is an easier, quicker way of flashing the firmware, but you must have an sdcard. I'll post later a how to after work.

Thanks mate . it worked for me, thank you for your effort
Rename the firmware to 0P9CIMG.zip.
Then boot to bootloader.
Follow the on screen directions to update.
I made sure to have a stock recovery, I haven't tried flashing firmware with a custom recovery. I do know that my M8 can flash the firmware with a custom recovery.
After everything updates, remove the firmware update from the sd card.
If anyone has any questions, I'll try to answer them.

So if you boot to bootloader, it will automatically recognize the file and start updating firmware?
about the second point, you can flash firmware while having a custom recovery but after flashing the firmware you will lose the custom recovery because the firmware includes a stock recovery which will replace your custom one.
The biggest inconvenience here is, that you have to relock your bootloader before flashing firmware, because it won't accept firmware on an unlocked bootloader.

I remember you saying somewhere that you have a Chinese unicom device. if it's S-on, then this file won't work for you. If it's S-off and you have SuperCID, then you can use it. doing it is as easy as following the steps. if any step is unclear, let me know and I'll explain it.

That explains it. no need for relocking bootloader when you're S-OFF because that's basically a security precaution by hTC. I miss the old days with my S-off hTC One XL. I flashed so many files from different sources that it lead to a Hard-Brick

Sorry, I meant this file won't work for you. If your problems are firmware oriented, you'll just have to find the right firmware for your variant (or the right OTA) and flash it using this method. files for the chinese variant are not hard to come by if you look for them over the net.

you should look for A5_ul OTA (not the CWM/TWRP backup). you can also use the RUU from this thread if your variant matches; it will fix the wifi problem

for s-off you'll have to pay 25$ and use sunshine. you can also take your phone to hTC care..

2-is your device exactly the same as models I mentioned in the first post?

Trouble reflashing ASUS stock ROM for ZE551KL

I accidentally tried doing a factory reset, and flashing an incorrect rom. So I lost the stock rom, and have no other rom to use. I tried using TWRP to flash ASUS's stock firmware from asus's support website, under firmware. Using firmware file: "UL-Z00T-WW-1.16.40.763-user.zip"
but TWRP tells me "E:Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/TWRP/Stock.zip'
Error flashing '/sdcard/TWRP/Stock.zip"
I still have access to both adb, fastboot, and TWRP but I cant get an OS to install.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, haven't even had this phone a day yet, and already may have broken it.
I don't have an answer to your question , just got this phone yesterday and am in the process of figuring out how to root and install a custom recovery for this specific device.. I have found many methods to root but none for my specific model. I think you have the same model as I do and was hoping you could lead me to the place that will give me the files I need.. the box my phone came in has the model as ASUS_Z00TD (ZE551KL).. Sorry I wasn't of any help to you, hope you manage to figure out how to flash something that will get your device running again!

Happy to know that it works for you.
Whenever you got stuck in this situation, just flash stock recovery & you will able to flash stock rom again.

Do yo mean this stock recovery? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64441364&postcount=9
How do I flash it? just "fastboot flash recovery stock_recovery.img" ?
If so, I've tried that, and TWRP still boot when I try to enter recovery. Also, once I've flashed the stock recovery, do I just place the firmware on the root of the sdcard as 'update.zip' and try to install it from there?
Thanks for your help already, and sorry about the repetitive questions!

I just flashed a TWRP .img to my Huawei Y3II (LUA-L02) but it only made my phone enter a boot loop.
I don't know how to fix it...
I'm guessing I'd need to go back to the 'stock recovery' but I don't know where to get the original .img file.
PLEASE HELP!!

Wow
Wow thank you so much for sharing that TWRP. I did manage to get a recovery going and the phone now does not reboot over and over. But it still does not start, just stops at Huawei image. I think I may need the stock firmware, but it is difficult to find for LUA-L02.
