Internet out with Ethernet

I am looking to connect my tv box with the Ethernet port on the OUYA so I can use the play channels that come with the tv box.
I have great Wi-Fi connection to OUYA but nothing to tv box.
Is it possible to use the Ethernet port for internet out?
Thanks for any/all ideas

I believe you're asking if the Ouya can act as a router or bridge device, so that this other (Ethernet) device could tap in to the Internet. Practically speaking, no.
An advanced user could possibly root the device, set up a script to start the WiFi (initially shut off since the Ethernet would be in use), assign an address/subnet to the Ethernet, and then kick off "ip route" and/or "route" commands to relay packets properly. This by itself would not provide any DHCP service for the remote device, but that device could be set up with a static IP.
A practical answer is to get a wireless bridge device with multiple Ethernet ports, then even the Ouya could move over to Ethernet. Alternatively, a router (even an older one) that is capable of running DD-WRT firmware could be set up in "Client Bridge" mode, achieving the same.

[Q] How to setup ADT-1 via OSD with no remote?

Hello,
I have ordered an ADT-1 from eBay and I have a question about initial setup. I have connected my ADT-1 to my TV via HDMI, the network connection via Ethernet, but I'm trying to figure out how to set up going through the on-screen menu.
On my TV screen, the first screen are language options - if it came with a remote, I would just press "OK" and I assume it would prompt me through everything. I have tried installing the "Android TV Remote Control", but it seems to install on my Galaxy Note 3, it detects the ADT-1 on the network, but then the app continuously crashes making the remote unusable.
I guess my question is how, or what do I need to go through the initial setup of the ADT-1 on my TV screen? Do I need to break out my Logitech remote from the basement and see if the ADT-1 is in its database? Or is there another way to set this up through the OSD?
Thanks in advance

Connect to Chromecast without Wifi

Hi guys,
Is there any way to connect an unrooted android phone to Chromecast without a WiFi? My phone will have an internet and it can use it's hotspot to connect to Chromecast. But, turns out, turning hotspot on will turn off the Wifi automatically. This seems to be a unsolvable problem, do any of you guys know any better?
Problem:
I'm trying to connect my phone to a LCD display in my car. The car display has a video input. So, if I can connect Chromecast with a HDMI to video converter, then I can have my phone control that display. I don't necessarily have to use Chromecast, I can use whatever... like Amazon fire stick or something if those are better for this purpose.
I appreciate any inputs. Thanks.
I haven't done it yet personally but you need another phone or device to act as the hotspot or wifi.

Heres the video.
Simplified Instructions maybe?
-Turn on your phone's WiFi hotspot
-Connect a computer to it
-Set up your chromecast to use your phones hot spot as the network
-Plug your chromecast into your radio, TV, or AV reciever.
Do the initial setup for the chromecast on your home wifi, then set your phone's hotspot with the same ssid and password as your home wifi network. When you turn on the hotspot, the chromecast will connect to it automatically and you can stream video from online via the wifi hotspot.

Possible to disable Ethernet?

So I just got a Galaxy S8 and discovered, much to my delight, that I can use DeX with the HP USB docking monitors we have at work. Plug in my phone and I've got the full desktop experience!
However, the other day I tried it and was stunned to hit a firewall on our internal corporate network. Previously when on DeX my phone was connecting to the internet via our guest wireless connection, but in this case it appeared that I was connecting through the corproate LAN. Now, that's not going to make the networking or security guys too happy.
So I'm wondering if there's a way to disable ethernet on the S8 so that I'm never connected to the corporate LAN when I plug my phone into the dock.

FireTV as hotspot

Hi,
is it possible to set up the Fire TV as a WiFi hotspot? I would like to connect my Oculus Quest directly to the FireTV to stream the current content on a TV or projector. No internet or similar is required. I've tried to use my smartphone but the result isn't satisfying
Tom
Some firesticks allow you to "Cast" to them (using miracast) - just go into the settings of the stick and it will have an option to go into cast mode.
