Soft bricked my Lenovo ZUK Z1 - Zuk Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello All,
I flashed Android Nougat on my ZUK Z1 by rooting it.
I was using it for quite some time comfortably but then due to some reasons i formatted my phone and unfortunately my OS got deleted probably due to which i got stuck in boot loop.
However TWRP was working, I can even log into fastboot.
I tried installing stock ROM using ADB sideload feature.
The install starts , shows percentage of completion and then gets completed but then when i reboot the system it opens the TWRP screen again.
I have tried the following steps :
1. wipe cache and dalvik , Installing stock rom , wipe cache and dalvik again
2. at times it gives me error of zip verification failed , And so as suggested in one of the threads I disabled zip verification through recovery.
3. at times after the flashing is completed, when i reboot it says NO OS INSTALLED, you still want to reboot?
4. at times while flashing through ADB sideload , it says "unmount of /system failed ; no such volume Script succeeded result was [ ]"
5. at times it says script succeeded: result was [ t ]
basically so many threads and so many options tried but the phone keeps booting into TWRP.
Any help will be greatly appreciated guys ... Please get back with your expertise !!

Using Google search you find tons of guides like this one.
Also in xda forums searching by qfil there's enough.

Bricked Zuk Z1

Hello,
Ok, here is the situation
I have a Zuk Z1 with last COS update 12.1 with locked bootloader, no root etc ... (I didn't touch anything).
Yesterday, it reboot by itself but I got bootloop (starting apps then again lenovo boot image ...)
I try to factory reset by using the recovery metohd, it's start normally (optimizing apps ...) but then reboot and again bootloop ...
So I try to sideload the official COS ROM from Cyanogen Support (cm-12.1-YOG4PAS9IG-ham-signed-d4fc2c5394.zip), but the sideload stuck at 47% and saying total xfer: 1.00x and the phone go back to recovery but still have boot loop ...
I try to boot in fastboot and use the All In One tool to flash official ROM but didn't work (Its say that the bootloader is lock)
I find without knowing this menu a debugging hardware tool test, and then I run the test, its say SD : Fail and in another I got SD : Fail and no sd fuse in dir
I saw many thread here and on google, and some say that we have to use qfil/qpst method, and find this which seems complete : http://www.androidbrick.com/lenovo-zuk-phones-qfil-roms-unbrick-guide/
But as I don't know if its hardware issue or soft brick ...
Could someone help me to recover my phone to COS or CM by using the right method ?
Thank you !

Go with qpst/qfil method to recover your phone
And did you tried changing the USB port or cable while side loading cos ROM .. Cause most of issues are solved by the changing USB port or cable.. So try this.. Or else qfil is the option

Flash stock rom via fastboot.
And try to reboot to bootloader from twrp it'll put you in fastboot mode.

That's what I told the person to do in short he/she didn't respond.
He/she should update the thread whether he/she got it working by doing something or fixed it via service center. Others just try to help without knowing if it is needed or not.
First of all, i want to say i'm sorry to all of you.. especially for those who tried to help me by replying my thread. I'm sorry for being silent and not updating on you guys. I managed to figure it out the next day after i posted this thread before any of you replied and just kinda forget this thread- which is a bad thing to do. I'm sorry guys. I won't do that ever again.
With that out of the way, i'm going to answer all of your replies

I tried that, it didn't work. Either reboot to system or bootloader, it just went back to TWRP.. with the "Keep System Read Only?" thing.. acting like i just installed TWRP for the first time. Even when i chose to turn off the device, it came back to TWRP.

Again, sorry for that
Here's what i did to fix the issue :
1. After some more searching in the next morning (literally the next morning, few minutes before i gone to school), i stumbled to this thread post : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2522426
it says that if you "Put the phone under a strong light and longpress power and volume down, your phone will reboot in bootloader.".
So i tried that. I hold my phone right in front of my monitor, then hold the power and volume up to get into fastboot mode. And Voila, it worked. I get into fastboot without any problem whatsoever.
Somebody else also replied "Just hold the power and volume down for a long time and hold it in front of a bright light, something about the proximity sensor."
So.. yeah. Didn't really know how it worked out, but it worked. :silly:
2. After that, i just installed a different version of TWRP (This one specifically https://dl.wafuu.id/twrp/X00T/twrp-3.2.3-0-X00T-20181214.img which i got from someone in the telegram group) and just redo the HavocOS installing process. It went smooth, and i manage to boot the system without any problem.
Problem solved. Just like that. However, i think i know what was causing the issue.
When i was trying to install the GApps (before stuck in bootloop), i only managed to get to the part when i had to choose to either save my choices or not. After that it just went back to TWRP. I didn't know that it wasn't actually installed yet, because i thought it was installed already. Yep, that was my first time installing GApps and i actually never seen the entire installing process. The way i know that is when i installed it after the fix (after i installed a different TWRP) and then saw the "installing things" part. Silly me.
So i think that was the issue. It was because i used an older version of TWRP which i got from this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/asus-zenfone-max-pro-m1/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-1-x-t3787134 . Maybe GApps didn't support that version. I knew it was an old version of TWRP. Why i was using that version and not the latest one? Because when i tried to install the latest one from this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/as...ent/recovery-unofficial-twrp-3-2-3-0-t3888110 , it didn't work on my phone. It fails to detect my internal memory (0mb).
I think that's all i can say. Again, i'm sorry to all you guys for the late respond. Thank you for replying my thread and trying to help me. I hope this thread will eventually help someone who faced a similar problem to mine.
*Last but not least, Shout out to Dyruz from the telegram group who provided me the working TWRP and tried to help me as best as he can. I would've not fix the issue this because of him. Cheers!

Can't fix fastboot redmi note 7

Restarted and it stuck.
Tried; vol down and power, tried to clean davlik, tried to unroot via recovery, tried to use adb and mi flashing tools
http://c.mi.com/pl/miuidownload/detail?guide=2 [and this guide]
first I recieved error and had to clean checkpoint, then I flashed with clean and lock, nothing happened, I guess, then I tried to flash with "save user data" and still nothing, both times got "successful"
So what to do now? It says my device is unlocked, I can enter recovery
Anyone? Also if I flash via miflashing, which option should I choose? "clean all" without locking?
Please, send help
edit; now when I checked clean all, got error error cannot load [the path] :/
edit;
jesus christ this is so stupid
change path to \lavender_global_images_V11.0.4.0.PFGMIXM_20191110.0000.00_9.0_global_774a3e8c73\lavender_global_images_V11.0.4.0.PFGMIXM_20191110.0000.00_9.0_global_774a3e8c73\V11.0.4.0.PFGMIXM
and it will work with clean all [no locking] but right now it's on the flashing process, I don't know if it will work
edit; it worked!

[ SOLVED ] Failed to mount '/odm'

I did some errors trying to update stock firmware from twrp, now I'm stuck on twrp 3.4 and I cannot install anything to solve it because of the message:
Failed to mount '/odm' ( invalid argument )
What is working:
- Boot to twrp
- Boot to Emui recovery ( it connects to wifi but it do not download/install recovery/firmware )

What can I try?

Most probably you have modified the oem partition and changed the device model this is the reason for not downloading in huawei erecovery.
I had the same error like /odm but my device boots fine and works normal apart from the battery drain
Thank you. I solved it flashing /odm partition with fastboot using this method:
[GUIDE] UN-BRICK Huawei P8 Lite 2017 (And maybe other devices)
THIS IS NOT GUARANTEED TO WORK! If it does not work, feel free to let me know here and i will do what i can to help, but remember I probably can't help everyone. IMPORTANT: ON XDA-LABS APP THIS POST IS KINDA BROKEN IDK WHY SO LOAD IT IN...
forum.xda-developers.com
Thanks to HuRu method, after a lot of reboots and reinstall and erecovery and factory resets I managed to reboot stock rom.
Unfortunately I'm not able to boot any custom rom ( tried all Darkjoker's rom ), but I will make another thread for this.
Honestly I had no idea that modding this phone would have been so difficult, it usually takes me very little time with other devices while in this case every little step requires to solve a lot of troubles.
