Are you using your Note 4 on Sprint's network? Thanks.

Yes I am on sprint. Fingerprint did not seem to work and I couldn't find anything on private mode sorry

If you look in the other threads for the Red Dragon ROM they outline how to get the fingerprint scanner working. In a nutshell you need to flash the Note 4 settings record your fingerprint, then you need to flash note 7 settings after.

HOTSPOT
Have you been able to get hot spot on this ROM ?

I'm also noting that this lost the Hotspot. Did it get removed in the process of making sms work?

It was working but the rereleased version that got sms working seems to have removed HOTSPOT functionality. I'm looking into solutions, I use mine all the time in the car so would really like to see it working again

You got it... Nice and easy the way it should be. Hopefully one day USB tethering gets incorporated into this app.
Just hangs for me at 'start tethering' screen.. I have root and I gave it SU access when it asked..

hmm... Interesting Cause I was just able to play WoW while tethering and was able to watch a youtube video full screen hd even though had to give it time to buffer some
-pre4 is working great for me! You need root, but once the app loads, tap the middle of the wireless symbol (you should get an SU prompt) and connected my computer. Posting this from my netbook tethered to my Vibrant with this app.
Hmm... disabling tethering gives me a screen with on and off icons and a message saying that the phone's state is unknown and I should try rebooting. It's working fine though, I connected back up to the wifi network here and all is well.

This us what I'm seeing on pre 5. I found that when it says phone state unknown with the on and off icons that tethering is still active as the ap still shows up in my wifi network list.

We have three Vibrants and the app worked fine on two of them. However, my wife's phone would lock up when trying to start tethering. We also noticed her phone was generally slower than our other two Vibrants. We returned the phone yesterday and exchanged it, but I haven't tried tethering with the new one. My wife wants to use it for a while without rooting it.

Note 4 3G/4G not working.

Hello everyone,
My T-Mobile Note 4 is not recognizing my sim at all. Hell it isn't even listing any mobile networks when I try to scan for them.
Okay so it is now recognizing the SIM however the 3G/4G are not working. Only edge is working. Any ideas on how to fix that?
I did install a few custom roms in between to test them (MaximumOverDrive, NOBLE ROM) as well as kernals (freeza, Xceed) however I have reinstalled EPE3 stock via Odin now but still mobile data is not working.
Can anyone please tell me what to try/do to fix it?
If you need any more info feel free to ask.
Love,
Becky
Sounds like the SIM reader on your device may have stopped working. I'd take it to a official Samsung Service Center and let them take a look at it.

Just take it into your cell providers local high street store. They should be able to restore the APN settings back onto your device, so that you will be able to get 3G and 4G/LTE connectivity.

Foxfi / Pda net

Does anyone know if the usb/ or hotspot of foxfi/pda net or other non native teathering apps work on the z force droid? ive been on unlocked and rooted phones for a while but i'm just not seeing anything that i want. i bought a oneplus 3 then found out it didn't have the lte bands for verizion. derp. but i think id go back to a locked phone for this modular deal as long as i could still teather with pda net. cuz i ant pay'n no 30 bucks for Verizon to "unlock" the capability of my phone. pffffffftttttttttt.
just curious if anyone knows or could check

Both bluetooth and USB work, but WiFi requires a mobile hotspot plan (which I don't have, so I can't test).
If you are the only one on your plan, go prepaid, I dont pay extra and the stock tethering under settings works just fine

I searched for the same, tried a number of apps, tried all of these recommended root apps & protocols ended up with the same disappointing result. Most of it just didn't work or no one could provide the necessary tools in proper sequential steps.
With you phone powered on remove your sim card. Go to Mobile hot spot & tethering, activate blue tooth tethering.wait a few minutes put your sim back in. you should now be able to pair devices with your phone and share its internet connection..

Found this in the other threads regarding hotspot. If you download "Network Signal Refresher Lite" from 8JAPPS in the playstore you can use native tethering. Just open the app and hit refresh and the moment you lose service drag down the quick tiles and tap the hotspot button. Been using this on my Moto Z Droid for the past few days and it works perfectly

Use Network signal refresher
Does anyone know of any workarounds? Network Signal Refresher stopped working for me with Nougat as well.
Yesterday they had an update for Network Signal Lite to version 5.0. Didnt work for me.
Today they have another update to version 5.1 hoping it fixes the issue. Just figured I would share.
i take it popping the sim doesn't work as well then. seams as if they might have closed the "if not able to call home let hotspot on anyway" bug then.

Popping the sim card does indeed work just hit the hotspot icon in the quick settings right after you reinsert it. Been doing since the first day nougat came out and it works every time.

Wifi Calling on PH-1

I have enabled Wifi Calling on my PH-1 and I know for a fact that my carrier supports it. It works fine too, but it's set to "Mobile Preferred". I chose this setting because my Wifi isn't too reliable. However, whenever I call, it uses Wifi even though I am getting LTE+? Is there any way to fix this?
Does anyone have any idea? I have looked all over the internet but have not found any solution? Could it possibly be my carrier?

Not that I know of. I don't think they would look at your WiFi calling settings if sent out for repairs. Once you install Oreo open market firmware just relock the bootloader, setup your phone including TMobile WiFi calling settings. Once you update to Pie they shouldn't be able to tell anything because all different variants use the same firmware and your bootloader will be locked encase you send your phone out for repairs.

No, your carrier number will change. The port to GV takes approximately 24 hours. So you have to deal with a GV assigned number for a day. After that though you have your regular old number. I barely even know my new Verizon number as I don't give it to anybody. I figure this way, I'll never have to worry about WiFi calling or who my carrier is again.

and I think it's funny that nobody addressed your original issue.

I have the same issue. It was working fine on Oreo. I tried flash.all fastboot using the stock firmware without success. Let me know if you have a solution. Ty
Edit: I got it fixed by flashing flashall back to stock Oreo 8.1 open market from Essential website then let it updated OTA to Pie and my WiFi calling still working fine.
Updated 10/22
My WiFi stopped working again after I turned it off but I can't turn it back on just like before. Any time I tried to turn it on the phone app forced close.
Considering thanks to T-Mobile's wonderful coverage (says I have good signal strength, but it's not) I have Wi-Fi calling enabled all the time and it works well on the 5Ghz ac side of the router...not so well on the 2.4Ghz b/g which is fine. Again something carrier specific. I went to Pie and kept the WiFi calling running.

Surprisingly, my WiFi calling is now working after updated my phone to today's November security update.

Mms not working on wifi. TMobile issue with McLaren 5g.

Is anyone having the same problem ? It seem it was working fine for few weeks but now it is causing me a major issue. Only happens when I'm at home on wifi. As soon as I switch to mobile everything works . Already tried messing with the apn settings seem not to have any effects on the problem
I'm also having this issue. RCS working fine on wifi here as well as SMS, but only MMS fails to send.
No issue here using Google Messages

wow, thanks for this. i think it actually worked.
can't believe IPv6 is still a thing. i know it has advantages, but there are good reasons it hasn't caught on. this is a shining example. only time i ever encounter v6 is when it causes issues like this.
What about keeping mobile data always on turned on??
