New Shield 2017 cpu meters in SPMC / KODI - Shield Android TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have noticed when streaming in SPMC if you press X on the control pad a drop down box comes down telling you the load while streaming, the shield shows all 4 cores working and load on each core to about 30-60% .
Now with say a Amazon fire tv 4k box if you do the same but with the 3 lines button on the remote the drop down box comes down again telling you only 1 of the 4 cores is working at 50 odd % .
This can't be right can it?

How to make HDMI out fit my TV screen?

I can get my homescreen on my TV, but no matter what size TV I put it on, a little bit on each left and right side is cut off. I couldnt even watch a movie
any ideas how to make it fit?
I haven't even tried connecting my Xoom to TV, but maybe you have Overscan turned on for your TV, check TV settings.
More than likely a TV setting. I had to futz around with my TV when I connected my HTPC to it... and again when I nuked/paved my HTPC and installed a different OS on it. There are still a few pixels of black on each side, but it still plays HD pretty well.

I think you can go on the TV and use the option fit on screen, it will stretch your display to fit all side of your TV.

Video Shield no router laptop Streaming PSP

This is a video for people who dont have a router or nvidia gpu pc, or would like to use their laptop. Its showing hotspot streaming with the PPSSPP emulator and its performance on god of war. Natively the shield cant run god of war at 60fps..so far. With streaming it is 60fps.
http://youtu.be/0vEK_x-s0zo
Gotta admit, using this method has by far, been my most efficient method as of yet, for streaming.
Okay TC, i'm having some trouble
And the biggest Issue i've come across right now are controls.
1. Mapping Triggers onto emulators. I tried out Dolphin and PPSSPP for streaming.I was able to get the buttons recognized from the Shield Except for the Last Triggers. These would be equivalent to the L2/R2 buttons on the PS2/PS2/PS4 controller.
With the DS3, i was able to map all buttons onto dolphin. Yet I cant get it to work with the Shields Layout
2. PPSSPP Left Analog Stick Trouble. So I map controls, and the Left Analog stick works cool for going down, left, and right. But in terms of going up or forward, it doesn't separate it.
Let me go indepth alittle more.
Dissidia 012? While I can go forward with the analog stick, it also brings up the camera way to far. Same as it would if I used the d-pad to bring up the camera
With Tenkaichi Tag Team? When I go forward with the left analog stick, my character only goes up. He doesn't go forward. It's the same with the d-pad, though IIRC going up in Tenkaichi tag team has always been the case for the D-Pad. But the issue is that I can go forward with the left analog stick.
when I use a DS3 controller however, it recognizes it, and even the R2 button(which was never with the PSP) can be used to speed up the gameplay. While with the Shield, no option of recognition.

This has been discussed already. Have a search of this forum.
Basically it's due to the difference in aspect ratio between your TV and the tablet.
Under the original firmware, when using a video app like MX Player it was possible to zoom in on the tablet and this would allow the image on the TV to zoom to the point where the black bars on the disappeared. This no longer works on either the 4.3 or 4.4.2 firmware. If you use HDMI a lot and the bars bug you, you need to roll back to the 4.2 firmware. Bear in mind you will still get the black bars on the main GUI, but not in movie players that allow zooming.
thanks for your answer
i found this im not sure if working

Good find. For my part I decided to take another route. I now use a wireless dongle and the free companion app by EZCast to stream movies to my TV which works quite well now - when streaming in EZCast mode (basically WiFi direct) there are no bars on the left and right. The screen can be turned off to save battery. You can also minimise the app while you're streaming a film to allow you to open the IMDB app for those vital 'what has she been in before' arguments with your partner . The dongle was about £30 from Amazon. It also features EZMirror which, um, mirrors the whole tablet's screen to the TV but then you're back to having bars left and right, and there's too much latency for gaming. Also, when using EZMirror, there is a pronounced slow down in the tablet whereas when using an HDMI cable there is no performance penalty at all. It's a shame that Nvidia aren't taking advantage of the latter as devices that output images to a TV via an MHL port/adapter experience a considerable performance hit as the device has to work so much harder. Another negative factor here is that the Note doesn't seem able to take a charge when connected to a USB hub via an OTG cable which also limits the usefulness of the tablet as a media device connected to a TV or monitor.
To return to the original problem, my TV has an option in the settings menu to either 'just scan' or to display 16:9. The latter removes a big chunk of the bars on the left and of the screen, but it also hides part of the top and bottom of the picture, which is OK on a movie, but less so when viewing the home screen etc.

Can you share us the photo?, I'm thinking on buying one and I want it to use for playing videos on my TV.

Do you mean EZCast information?
If so, there's lots of info on YouTube that will explain/show you how it works http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6_U44XUdJ0. Search for videos by EZCast themslelves - they have videos for various devices.
Bear in mind that there are two basic modes, EZCast and EzMirror. EZMirror literally mirrors everything you see on your tablet's screen (which also leads to vertical black bars on the left and right of the picture on the TV screen, just like when you use HDMI due to the differing aspect ratio of the tablet and the TV).
EZCast presents a menu on the tablet screen and then allows you to select different types of media to stream to the TV. This works well for films because it will fill the TV screen. It's less useful for streamimg music to a TV at the moment because it will only stream one song file at a time, after which you have to select another song.
If you buy one, there are different hardware versions available. Mine has 128MB of RAM. I have a feeling that those on offer that have 256MB RAM and a faster CPU will provide better streaming performance.
Hope this helps

Oops, sorry. The exact size of the bands on the left and right of the TV screen will depend upon what formats the TV supports. For example one of my TVs zooms in slightly by default cropping a bit of the top and bottom of the phone or tablet's screen off (meaning you lose most of the notification bar and some of the soft keys, or whatever is at the bottom of the picture). I have another TV that allows different settings such as 'just scan' that shows all of the phone or tablet's screen. The downside of this is that on a phone/tablet with a 1280x800 resolution you have vertical black bars about an inch wide on either side of the picture on a 32" TV. I'll try and get a photo...
Unfortunately the camera on my HTC Sensation is struggling to capture the problem tonight, but here's a closeup of the right hand side of my TV with the tablet set to full screen mode, and the TV picture settings to 'just scan'. I might try and get a fuller photo the daylight tomorrow.

Gen 2 Remote Poor Response Left Click

Just was wondering if I'm just having bad luck with quality control or not, but I purchased the Gen 2 16gb Shield TVand everything is great except that on the remote, the circular up/down, left/right button doesn't work well when pressing left. There is a clear click feel and responsiveness on up, down and right but the left requires a harder press. I decided to exchange the unit and the second unit had the same issue. I'm probably just going to live with it, but was wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar?
I have the same issue with my remote. I contacted the nvidia support and the are replacing mine free of charge. The new one hasn't arrived yet so I can't tell you if it works.

FS 4K Max and screen lines

I have a Samsung Q8F 55 inch TV that I have been using with a FS 4K and no problems. Just purchased a new FS 4K Max and the screen now has permanent light gray parallel/horizontal lines (approx. 1/16 inch apart from top to bottom. Have reset TV and FS, used alternate HDMI plug, used the FS with and without the extender. FS feels somewhat loose when plugged directly in HDMI port, extender feels slightly more secure. Neither feels as secure as previous 4K. No damage done to TV or any previous issues. Reordered a second 4K to see if the "Max" is the issue. Any thoughts based on experience with a similar issue? Thanks in advance
Hi there
Maybe switch from auto to the highest manual resolution in the fireTV display settings.
Then search in the TV settings for an option like 'just scan'
