Nougat - 32.3.A.0.372 release started - Xperia Z4 Tablet General

just one customization for each model at the moment

Split screen support just made this tablet even better if that was even possible.

Anyone got the FTF? I am having a little trouble building it.

Nevermind, I had to use flashtool-0.9.18.6-windows to build the FTF (which then failed to flash)
So I upgraded back to flashtool-0.9.23.1-windows and it has flashed
Android 7.0
December security update.

you should use anyhow the latest version because before 0.9.23.x it didn't support nougat resulting in failed flashes, didn't brick or anything the device but the flash failed.

Thats cool, I was just getting java errors using the builder with the latest version!

Major drawback with 7.0 and the keyboard
There is no option to select different language from the keyboard like it was with CTRL - Spacebar before. In the settings also for the physical keyboard you can only select 1 language.
What the hell happened here....

And I now see that the update has been pulled !!!

Oh well thats no good. Im using the firmware currently. Its ok but when you compare marshmallow with root to it you only really get multi apps and new settings. With root you can use android n ify. Still a good update but having unlocked bootloader is pointless at the moment.

Yeah, SGP771 is the LTE model of course. There was a problem with third party audio and some encryption with SDcard.

Anybody please with 32.3.A.0.372 SGP771 link? is not in the list anymore.
Thanks

Does any one know where to grab the ftf file for the sgp511?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
I also am looking for the sgp511 ftf file
I wil try to make one following the instructions on xda.
I have made a FTF according to this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2334653
- Device: SGP511
- Build number: 17.1.A.2.36
- Android version: 4.4.2
- Customization version, region, branding: Didn't understand how to find out this stuff exactly. Looked in the service menu etc., but there were different numbers...
It's a normal SGP511 without carrier branding, and it is a model for the countries IT,FR,EN,PL,NL,DE, so I suppose it's kind of European firmware version. Or global???
- Download link: http://ul.to/eqlrc7oc
Can you please upload that to somewhere else as I can't download from there (says too big for free users)
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
Next try
Uploaded the same FTF as in my above post to Mega:

Would be REALLY great if more Taiwanese / Chinese users could confirm that the new .55 firmware resolves the touch problem!
Because other users then knew that they only have to wait until the .55 firmware is released for their region! (And must not exchange their devices.)
@hasenbein1966
Would you also create a FTF file for the .55 firmware for model SGP511, that'll be much appreciated , cheers
???
How do you get to the idea that I have the .55 firmware?
Please read better!
Only dx9901mk5 has said that he has a Taiwanese .55 firmware (for SGP521!).
And this is the first time ever anyone claims to have gotten an update at all. No one knows whether it's true.

The new firmware 28.0.A.8.260 is rolling out!

Good news, seems that the new FW 28.0.A.8.260 is rolling out today! First devices got that update in xperia firm, so lets hope for bugfix and better touch response!
Just downloaded and flashed via flashtool/xperia firm ..... no MM ... minor system update with bugfixes ... nothing new here ... Better performance scrolling, wiping etc. No more lags with nova launcher. Touch also seems better on first sight.
Thank you ! One question, seems that pc companion update is not working today...update check doesn´t work, maybe problems on sony´s side?
It offered me the update here in Austria with Bootloader unlocked Generic German FW .... But i couldn install because of the unlock so i went the flashtool/xperia firmware route ....now i miss the root on the new update -.-
Sent from my LG-H815 using XDA Free mobile app
Youre right bro!!! Seems good news....
Fingers crossed hoping a better keyboard touch response and optimized RAM managing.
Edit: After installing it, noticed an smoother screen scrolling and an AWESOME touch response, even with a 0.3mm thick tempered glass screen protector, the keyboard response is Perfect!!!
Good Job Sony.
Just Rooting W/O unlocking left
Hi !
Do you think i can skip .251 and wait the Z4 will propose me the .260 directly OTA ?
Or should I first go through .251 to be able to get to 260
I have not yet upgraded to 251 because of the touch issues...
Thanks.

It should be no problem to flash directly to .260 with flashtool if the touch issues are better. Will update my device today with flashtool as pc companion don´t give me that option since yesterday...maybe the servers from sony mobile are not reachable within pc companion but flashtool and/or xperiafirm is the answer

androplus kernel is working on update, so I really hope that someone will make a flashable -maybe prerooted- image for TWRP.
I finally rooted+recovery after months of waiting, I'm really too lazy to restart from a FTF
One day after update my FW i think i can say it´s an improvement in touch! No problems so far will hope this problem is finally resolved!
Does anyone know if it would be safe to flash another region firmware to my tablet?
Needing this update but hasn't been released to me yet.
Mine has carrier branded firmware, they are infamous for releasing updates VERY slowly, if at all.
If it is safe, which region would you suggest?
I live in Australia.

Choose any FTF with should work with your preferred character set.
With the LTE versions there could be some differences with enabled radio bands or not. I would try a HK version first.
Head over to xperia cross devices. There you'll find a thread about unlocking all radio bands. Dunno if it works with SGP771.

Every time I try, it just turns on?

No .260 in the UK yet so I fancy "flashing". Just one question, I understand that I can use firmware from almost anywhere but what does "customized" mean in the Xpreifirm tool? I have an unbranded SGP712 so don't suddenly want to be locked into a vendor's bloatware!
Thanks
A word of caution if flashing an ftf. Make sure MXTP is disabled - especially if you reset after flashing or you will brick your tablet. This because I was stupid and forgot, resulting in my tablet having to go away for repair. Point of note - Sony UK offered to fix it but quoted 7 - 10 days turnaround. O2 did it in 3.

Nova Plus MLA.....

Is it possible, to open a thread for the Nova Plus MLA-LXX only?
Root, firmwareupdates , etc.
i think its a good idea...im in canada /rogers with mla-l03...and not much here for our version
Not rooted ( yet ) but got the unlock code, me too
have the code, yet not used, all my other mobiles ihave rooted
Like i said...our device is a one pretty young...birth in september so...theres no rush to "enter the dragon"
But very anxious to try nouEmui
i have tried the unlock code, and it works, but i have relocked it.....
I've the MLA-L11 too. would be awsome to have a working TWRP , no use in getting bt unlocked
unless there is a custom recovery. I'd say we find a dev and donate enough to persuade him to work
on a twrp !

You can try this to update to Nougat: http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G79/g0/v73849/f1/full/update.zip Extract all the files and place them in a dload folder then place that on the root of your SD Card and install it using the three button method. If your Build Number is not showing up correctly after installing that install this: http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...-L11_hw_eu/update_data_full_MLA-L11_hw_eu.zip using the same method as before. If it does not work the first time you may need to flash the stock EMUI 5 Nougat recovery which will let you install Nougat updates, I had to do this for the CAN-L01C432 variant as the update kept stopping at around 40%. EMUI 5 Nougat Recovery: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4T1GJ6EZ3LvTWNpZ0p5YXVINGs It is up to you to try it and I am not trying to make you as I do not have a MLA variant so I do not know if it will work or not. If same as me (should be, in Australia as well), it's NPN25.137-67. I was on -15 beforehand. Had to check manually via Settings --> System updates as there was no automated notification, or at least not yet. Therefore if you're still on an older update i'd wait before installing anything manually - the official OTA can't be far away.

Glad you got it sorted. I always wipe the phone anyway when flashing regardless of which method.
As you can read in this topic https://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xz2-premium/how-to/fsc-file-to-flash-android-pie-to-xz2-t3873499 , i had the hk rom too. And you can't use flashtool to upgrade from oreo to pie cuz pie has a different FSC file. So what i did? i flashed the same oreo UK rom (WITHOUT TO WIPE ANYTHING!!!!!!) and i waited for the ota update to Pie that came immediatelly after i restarted the phone after flash.
P.S. For moderators: i noticed there are 2 "xz2 premium sections": 1) called sony-xz2-premium and 1) xz2-premium. You should merge them!
