Please help getting HTC bolt back to full stock for warranty repair - HTC Bolt / 10 Evo Questions & Answers

I need to send my htc bolt in for warranty repair. How do I return to full original stock state?
I can run the RUU.exe to return to stock os, but I still remain s-off, unlocked. Can anyone help me get back to s-on and locked?
Thanks.

I don't think it's possible to get it back to locked...
fastboot oem lock will get it "relocked"
fastboot oem writesecureflag 3 should get it back to s-on

Thanks for the response
Oem lock didn't work on the bolt, but I haven't tried the other command. I'm hoping I can at least get s-on. Maybe sunshine will give options to the bolt after s-on...
Didn't realize I didn't need s off for flashing roms.

I'm not having luck with the suggested commands:
D:\HTCBolt\fastboot-win>
D:\HTCBolt\fastboot-win>fastboot devices
HT6B404***** fastboot
D:\HTCBolt\fastboot-win>fastboot oem lock
...
FAILED (remote: unknown command)
finished. total time: 0.016s
D:\HTCBolt\fastboot-win>fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
...
FAILED (remote: unknown command)
finished. total time: 0.014s
D:\HTCBolt\fastboot-win>

D:\HTCBolt\fastboot-win>fastboot oem ?
...
FAILED (remote: unknown command)
finished. total time: 0.007s
D:\HTCBolt\fastboot-win>

Nevermind, guess I wasn't in download mode on the phone:
D:\>fastboot oem writesecureflag 3
...
(bootloader) HTC KEY CARD VERSION: 7
(bootloader) VERIFY_PASS (0)
(bootloader) Partition verify pass
(bootloader) Write security level S-ON
OKAY [ 0.897s]
finished. total time: 0.900s
D:\>
Now to see how to lock.

NA

Here is how to get it back to Locked

[Q] Vodafone sappimg.zip crippled my MyTouch 3G (not with the 33mm jack)

I've spent about 6 hours trying to fix my phone and I'm at my wit's end.
What happened:
I was using Cyanogenmod 6.1 on my MyTouch 3G and I flashed back to the Donut stock image. Everything went fine, but I couldn't use my phone because I don't have a data plan so I couldn't activate my phone. I attempted to re-root again but I accidentally flashed the Vodafone sappimg.zip file (my MyTouch 3G splash screen has changed to a Vodafone splash). Now I'm stuck.
What's not working:
If I plug the USB cable into my computer (Linux/Win 7 dual boot), the phone restarts. If I leave it plugged in as it tries to boot, the phone will go into a reboot loop. This means that I cannot use the fastboot or adb debugger.
I cannot flash the old sappimg.nbh image or any sappimg.zip variants. hboot cannot find the file. I have quadruple-checked the names, folders, formatting and used a 4GB Sandisk and a 1GB Kingston card.
Goldcards aren't working. I think I'm making them correctly. It's hard to tell since, depending on whom you read, the CID either has to be reversed, modified, fed into a special algorithm or a combination thereof before going to the goldcard generating website.
What I've tried:

This: http://androidandme.com/2009/08/new...es-and-flash-cyanogens-rom-with-donut-crumbs/
This: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=547133
Amongst other things.
What still works:
Phone is not bricked. As long as it's not plugged in to my computer, I can still turn it on and use it.
Wifi works.
I can still get into fastboot through the Power + Vol Down combination.
What it says in fastboot:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32B SHIP S-ON H
HBOOT-1.33.0009 (SAPP30000)
CPLD-10
RADIO-3.22.20.17
May 8 2009,21:02:32
Ideally, I'd like to be able to root my phone again and, preferably, get back to the MyTouch splash instead of the Vodafone splash. Suggestions?
Oops... but not quite solved
It turns out that Linux wasn't formatting, mounting or unmounting the SD card. When I formatted the same cards in Windows I was able to get the bootloader to recognise that sappimg.nbh at least existed. I've tried both my Kingston and my Sandisk and neither of them are able to avoid the "Main version is older! Update failed" error message which, I'm guessing, the goldcard is supposed to fix. I'll keep researching but suggestions are welcome.
Download my fastboot commander tool from my signature and post here all device info.
Thanks, more under control
Thanks! I have actually succeeded in rooting the phone using your instructions at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=756918 . I even have a recovery image installed, which gives me a whole lot more flexibility! Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it
Unfortunately, it seems that Vodafone's factory image *really* hates Linux (and/or udev) because it still crashes when it's plugged in, so no debugging help there. On Windows, the phone doesn't crash but, even with debugging on, neither ADB nor Fastboot.exe can find the phone. Your Fastboot tools, therefore, also aren't immediately helpful (but, then again, maybe I'm not using it correctly. I haven't RTFM yet).
My plan now is to use the recovery partition to flash in an engineering HBOOT then use that opening to flash Vodafone Android back to the depths of Hell from where it came. I'll let you know if that works.
Edit: Yeah, I can't overwrite hboot from recovery. I remember being able to do this before since this is the first time that I've had to make a goldcard. Vodafone: I hate you. Here's that information you wanted, mumilover:

Here's a helpful debugging tip: when everyone says that you cannot use fastboot without installing the Windows USB driver, take that seriously. It may be why fastboot isn't working on Windows.
Think I bricked it
Yeah, so in my efforts to flash a new SPL, I followed the instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=794447 and skipped over step 6 where it tells you to press the green button once. My phone is now stuck on that Vodafone logo. Taunting me. Mocking me. Oh, yeah, and fastboot don't work no more (phone side or computer side). That's an irrecoverable error, right?
What can you see on the screen...?
No fastboot?
No recovery?
Free T-Mobile MyTouch 3G!!!*
Nope. No fastboot, no recovery. Just that Vodafone logo taunting me. Don't panic, I went out and bought a Nexus S just now. They went on sale just as I bricked my phone.
So, yeah, if anybody wants a free MyTouch 3G* to experiment with/disassemble, drop me a line. Comes with all accessories and my thanks for getting it off my hands.
*Free phone comes pre-bricked.
I want it... i can maybe try the jtag thing on it...Check your pm.

From the Sony website, did you follow these steps:
First, you should confirm that it is possible to unlock the boot loader of your phone by checking the service menu. In your phone, open the dialler and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
In your phone, tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, then you can continue with the next step. If it says No, or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked.

OnePlus Two - Unable to unlock OEM

Hello all,
I recently bought a OnePlus 2 and attempted to root it. I can only remember trying to root it with a locked bootloader (which caused the OnePlus startup to hang). Eventually, I put the OS back in. Now, in a second attempt to root my phone, the first step was to unlock the bootloader. Every time I type "fastboot oem unlock" it brings me back to TWRP. When boot back into fastboot and check device info, I get this:
(bootloader) Device tampered: false
(bootloader) Device unlocked: false
(bootloader) Device is_verified: false
(bootloader) Charger screen enabled: false
(bootloader) Display panel:
(bootloader) console_locked: 1
(bootloader) exec_console_unconsole: 0
OKAY [ 0.070s]
finished. total time: 0.070s
Also, attempting to flash any recovery (or any other command) returns this:
target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes
sending 'recovery' (22032 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.719s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: device is locked. Cannot flash images)
finished. total time: 0.742s
Any suggestions? I've tried searching so many different threads all over Google.
Files that I have available to use: stock recovery, TWRP recovery, latest full ROM from OPT
Follow this guide:
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...wrp-root-nandroid-efs-backup-and-more.345478/
I already tried this guide. The phone is fully functional. I just cannot unlock the bootloader.
Every time I type "fastboot oem unlock" it brings me back to TWRP.

How did you install TWRP if the bootloader is locked? Did you install TWRP previously and re-lock the bootloader?
I have no idea. I think so. But it's fine I somehow managed to unlock the bootloader (finally). I just found out that OxygenOS 3.1.0 doesn't allow root.

leeco le s3 x626 locked bootloader problem

Hello guys,
i have a problem. I installed the new rom on my x626 and it worked great, after that i locked bootloader by my mistake and the phone died (bricked with red light)
i followed the instruction with the unbrick, but i am unable to install anything new because the bootloader is locked.
The phone also is in the bootloap state without any recovery. I got acces to fastboot mode only.
I followed a guide, it worked once on my another le s3 x626 but right now it dont want to work because bootloader is locked.
when i put "fastboot oem unlock" - it says that operation is not allowed. I am stuck at this point.
I know that i made mistake, i am idiot but I will be very pleased if someone experienced could help me.

You have to turn on Oem unlock within Developer settings. Use the " all in one to tool"to unlock to he bootloader or flash emmc.boot while the phone is in fast boot mode.

Just guessing here....When you sim unlocked did you do the temp unlock or perm unlock?
Does my phone need to be carrier unlocked?

You need to contact T-Mobile if you got the phone from them and request a Permanent Sim unlock.
Here is a thread that has lot's of discussion and info...https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/how-to/discussion-t-mobile-unlock-bin-waiting-t3863546
And here if you want to bypass all that... https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/how-to/t-mobile-6t-to-international-t3888307
I took the T-Mobile route just to get the unlock .bin from OnePlus just in case I ran into a need for it in the future. Also because the other route didn't come along until after I applied LOL.
