Cant sign in to snapchat now that im rooted (even with SUHIDE) - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Title says all. My phone was being sluggish (and constantly getting REALLY hot) so I decided to root and install a custom rom. Everything runs so much better and my phone is much cooler, but I cant log into snapchat anymore. I tried installing suhide, but that didnt seem to do anything. What else can I do?

Im on TruPureXMM. Maybe I should try switching roms. Is the one you are on 7.1.1?

I realized I only used snap to talk to one person, so I got her number and decided to ditch it lol.
Though what I did was I switched to a pure stock rom Found here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/development/pure-firmware-tuff-wip-t3224833) then I was gonna make a titanium back up of snapchat while logged in. Then switch back to the rooted rom we have, and load it up.

What I did because I'm on N and there's no Xposed is just completely unroot and sign in. Then you can reroot and stay logged in. Go get titanium backup and backup your Snapchat data in case you have to log out. Every time you logout and you're rooted, just restore the backup you made of when you were signed it, I can confirm it works because I just did it 10 minutes ago and came to make a post here about it.
I hope this helps.

Reflash your rom you're running (avoid flashing SU or Xposed at all, you can do it later) and first thing you do after getting to the home screen go to the playstore and dl snapchat and login. Should work just fine.

I just rooted my N1 for the first time

OK, congratulate me!! Thanks. I did it on the first try, no issue or hiccups what-so-ever.
Now for the info. I'm not sure that anyone will be interested, but I'm guessing other people in my position at least might be.
I'm very experienced with computers, but not working directly with rooting/unlocking devices. But I would say anyone who reads up a bit and can follow directions properly could pull it off pretty easily.
So I run 2.2.2, and I used superoneclick 1.6.3.
After opening superoneclick, I switched it from psneuter to rageagainsthecage. I had no idea if I was supposed to do this, but I read all about rageagainstthecage, and never heard of psneuter.
I had my phone connected to my PC, and I left my SD in the phone, but I unmounted it in settings. I have used ADB before, so I knew the drivers were installed and working, and I hit the button root.
After reading this site, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682, I started with debugging off, and turned it on as it said. I then turned it off, but didn't get a chance to turn it back on and off and on, so I just turned it back on (debugging) when it got to "Waiting for device" for the second time.
That was it! It asked to test and see if root was in fact accomplished, and it was. I then installed setCPU (which is basically the only reason I wanted to do this) and as far as I can tell it seems to be working fine.
I have been reading a lot about this for the past few days, but the actual procedure only took a couple of minutes. Keeping in mind, of course, that I already had ADB and drivers working.
Nothing was wiped off my phone, which surprisingly was hard to confirm on the web. I did read somewhere that only unlocking wipes data, but still, you never know.
I hope this helps anyone else who is new and unsure of the process, and I'd be happy to answer any other specific questions based on what I have learned of the last week or so. I know that people hesitate to ask questions in case they have already been asked lots of times, but are buried and hard to find (because that's the position I was in ).
Thanks for posting your "rooting" experience. I'm sure there are people that will find it helpful.
I think when I did mine, it was something along the lines of:
fastboot-oem-unlock
fastboot flash recovery <whatever>
reboot into recovery and flash rom
Other than the ability to install custom ROM's I've yet to see a huge deal in rooting my phone. Anyone care to tell me what I can do with a rooted N1 that is a must have? So far I tried to change some fonts, which didn't work, and discovered that I have to install a custom ROM to change the color of the notification bar, and I can't make the default Google music and news widgets slightly transparent. So educate me, what's the huge deal with rooting, aside from a custom ROM?
Set cpu of course like being said. I remember the first time I rooted my phone was universal androot it was a breeze. Then I lost root and use super one click to gain out back. Root really easy as well

Hi N1 owners.
I also just root my N1 with superoneclick 1.6.3
After that I flashed CM 6.1.1 and yesterday I tried CM7. Everything has worked fine for me so far, but I have some questions, I hope someone can answer.
1/Can I just flash random roms on top of each other, like i did from cm6 - cm7?
2/ Can I always restore backups, nomatter what rom I come from or to?
3/ when/if official GB come out, can I flash a stock rom and get the OTA update right away?
Sorry, if I ask silly questions ..
Built in trackball colors, call blocker, hide frequently called list in the favorites tab, remove unnecessary apps, tmobile wifi calling, notification bar power toggles, trackball wake and unlock, quiet hours, themes, etc., etc., etc. Just off the top of my head. Oh, and Gingerbread!!!

Some apps want to bypass the home screen "5 second rule" like widget locker, you need root. I setup a widget to reboot (nice!).

Unlocking the Bootloader wipes data, rooting does not. This is probably what you read.

1/Can I just flash random roms on top of each other, like i did from cm6 - cm7? Yes you can. Often if the ROM is the next version in a series, you can flash without wiping data or cache, but some ROMs require you to do this first.
2/ Can I always restore backups, nomatter what rom I come from or to? A Nandroid backup can be reinstalled from any ROM, or even just from Recovery if there is no ROM.
3/ when/if official GB come out, can I flash a stock rom and get the OTA update right away? Yes. Either restore your stock ROM Nandroid backup or a passimg.zip.

1. As a rule, if you are going from 1 ROM to another totally different ROM, it's always a good idea to wipe. It only takes a few seconds to sign back in to everything. You can bypass immediate sign in and activate wifi if you need it.
2. Nandroids can be reinstalled anytime. However, a nandroid does not contain your HBOOT and Radio. So if you updated those to use a specific ROM, they would stay in place with the nandroid restore.
3. When GB does finally make it out to our specific device, there is no way you would get an OTA before the ROM devs here had you up and running.
***Also note, the 1-click root tools may or may not work right away with the OTA 2.3. So to anyone that rooted using those tools and unrooted to hurry up and get an OTA, you may be stuck on stock until it gets fixed.

I agree, do a full wipe if it's a new ROM. Titanium Backup is a great way to get all of your apps and data back after installing the new ROM.

So what do you lose (if anything) when flashing a new ROM if you backup and do things the right way?
Another question would be if you just flash a new kernal do you lose any/all data?

I've rooted before, and lost root when ota's came. I've rooted again using superoneclick, and am contemplating cm7. But I feel very cautious about flashing a different rom, I'd cry if I bricked my phone. However, I'm probably going to do it during the next week (unless gingerbread ota arrives).

Hmmm, I have been anxious for GB too.... but I'm not sure it's worth it. I don't think it's such a big update. I don't think there's too much of a danger of brinking these days.
I have been contemplating doing what I have to to overclock, see what kind of a difference that makes...

I am a newbie to root. Can Titanium Backup restore the paid apps? because some apps require online verification with Google at the first time of use.
Also, Z4root does not work on my N1. I want to use superoneclick but where can I find the driver for my win7? thanks

Can't root after update..

Hi guys,
Not sure wtf is going on here but just updated to I9505XXUBMEA and now I cant root! have tried via cwm more times that I care to mention! I also notice the phone is VERY slow, even when I run root checker it comes up with a warning that UI is running very slow.
Anyway I am booting into recovery and selecting install from sdcard and then selecting CWM-SuperSU-v0.99.zip. CWM reports all installed fine, yet when I reboot it's not installed, if I try any type of app that checks root the phone seems to go to almost a stop or just crashes, any ideas?
Its a I9505 BTW

Hi,
You could try flashing a pre-rooted ROM.
Look HERE
It sounds like you should do a factory reset to clear your phone first.
yes I really wanted to avoid moving from stock but looks like I might not have a choice which is a shame

Hi,
The ROM I suggested is pure stock.
Or there is a slimmed down version with some bloat removed.
But they are all fully functional, with all the Samsung goodies.
Yes thanks I am downloading that and also Omega rom aswell, many thanks:good:

(Problem) After rooting my phone by CF root, my phone is laggy

Two days ago i have decided to root my phone by CF root, then my phone is became laggy, its not that smooth like before, even when im browsing google with dolphin its laggy, even flipping the Touchwiz screen isnt smooth too, should i just unroot the phone or what?
Root in no way effects performance. If all you did was root it's in your head.

Yes you need to uninstall Xposed because it's a known issue that it causes massive lag and kills S Health.

Help, lost my sound!

Hello fellow romers!
I recently decided to go back to Touchwiz but I failed. So then I went back to Temasek's CM12.1. Everything was fine until I decided to go full wipe and go v.15 (I was previously on 12.4 I think) and then I did something wrong. I went and did a full wipe on System (don't ask me why, I'm just stupid). So now I have no sound! Everything works as it should but the sound is completely gone.
I have tried reinstalling the phone to complete stock via odin but nothing works. I tried go back to a previous working backup that I have saved but it didn't solve the problem either.
So, to me it sounds like my drivers to my sound is gone or corrupt. Can I reflash it or something? This is really screwing me over since I really don't have the money to buy another Note 3. Help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance.

Well, that's what I'm trying to do right now. But ever since I installed the stock firmware my computer refuses to connect to my phone. So I can't do a backup of all my files. This is just getting weird now. The phone is extremely slow and it keeps saying "Music has stopped working." and it won't let me do anything because of that window... I am seriously thinking about breaking the phone in half at this point. I don't even know if my modem works, and I'm going back to work tomorrow! Damn, I'm getting really stressed out because of this.
Alright, I am in deep **** here and I really need help! How do I do to go back to complete stock?! Like, totally cleaning out my device and reinstalling it?! The phone is absolutely useless and I need to go back to a working state with everything working.
How do I hard reset my phone using odin?
Just got it to work. Apparently I had a bad version of Odin which made it impossible to flash a rom. After I redownloaded Odin to 3.04 it worked perfectly.

Yeah, everything is working now. I flashed the stock firmware with the right region code and everything went back to normal. Why I couldn't flash it was because of a bad version of Odin. Felt kinda stupid for not trying that before I posted here. Thank you for the replies!

Apps won't download/update?

Sometimes when I try to download/update an app I'll get an error after it's done downloading that says it can't install and it'll keep trying until I restart my phone and sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't also another issue whenever I turn my phone on or off it'll make apps dissappear and the only way I can access them is to do it in the playstore and I'll have to Uninstall them through the playstore and then reinstall them to make them visible
Are you getting the PlayStore error 492 message when updating or installing an app? If so, I've been trying to figure this out for the past few weeks. I ended doing a complete fresh install of the ROM I'm currently using, which is the MOAR ROM, and I'm still getting the dang errors. I've cleared the playstore cache, data, uninstalled, etc. It either works for a bit or nothing...if youre having the same issues as myself, I wish I could help.....

Hmmm I don't think so I'm getting error code 963 it's weird cuz while the app is downloading it'll say 86mb for instance then it'll go to 90mb then it'll go back down to like 82 and the whole time the description is like flickering almost like you're refreshing the page but I am also on Moar do you think it could be a problem with the rom? And what version are you on? Og5 or pb1?
Still on OC4 and haven't dorked around with any of the apps in months. I'm going to flash back to NCG and root then install upgrade to lollipop by Muniz_ri and see what happens. If nothing, I'll go ahead and flash the MOAR ROM. Been on it since last year and haven't had any issues until now. Wish someone would have a concrete solution..

Since you are rooted, go into root explorer and navigate to /data/app/ Do you see any duplicates in that directory? If so, the fix is simple. There may not be enough space due to duplicate apps.

Checked it and didn't see any duplicates. Although, I did see a good bit of '-2' but no '-1' for the same app
I don't know what is going on with why I cannot update/install apps...I started from scratch starting with NCG,rooted and installed the MOAR ROM again and on the OC4 firmware....I was able to load apps just fine for about an hour and then i went to check to see if i could update an app, none in particular, and received the freaking 492 error again.I hate to say and not saying that this is the culprit, but i checked it after i installed LP SafeStrap. I'm clueless to why i'm getting this and don't know if i'm the only one or not. I didn't install any backed up apps or data either. If anyone has any thoughts or fixes, i'm open to suggestions. Oh, I've done the clear cache and data in the Play Store and the other Google Play apps and still got the same results

reflashing the rom worked until i tried to restore everything wit titanium back up then for some reason the cpu was too high and kept turning my phone off so i reflashed it and only restored certain apps and everything is working a okay now but i think that might have been the case before because for some reason i had so much space taken up i have almost everything on my phone in my sd card and my phones a 16 gb and it was saying i only had a few hundred mb and now i had 6 gb after i reflashed and im down to like 2 and a half gb (i assume cuz i restored the apps and it stuck stuff on my phone instead of sd card but idk)

Yeah, tried everything that that I saw posted in the threads and Web. I ended up flashing back to NCG and started from scratch. After installing MOAR and setting everything up, and not to say that this was the culprit, i installed the LP SS V17 and it all happened again. So, I reflashed the ROM and installed the SS rooting tools V6 and reluctantly haven't had any issues 'yet'?. As far as storage goes I have 7.8gb available now. Have you looked into your hidden folders or cache on the SD card to see if there were any unused apps/data that could be deleted? It's running so far so good at the moment but I haven't tried to update any apps yet. I may check to see what happens...
Veid71, thanks for checking in and for your suggestions. I appreciate the help and hopeyou get your issue with the Play Store resolved. If i have any helpful suggestions, I'll be sure to let you know. Sorry to go off topic a bit.
Fellow users I don't want to steer/scare anyone reading this to think to not install/use the LP SS recovery apk. Its a great and useful app that JrKruse modified from the original version for our LP devices. I'm not saying anything is wrong with it or it may "break" something and I'm not even 100% sure SS was the problem, it could have been something else that may have been messing up the Play Store update issue. So please don't let my posts deter you from using the app.

np everything seems to be good with my phone now and thats odd i remember when the error occured i just kept on trying and getting ahold of google support and it was a huge pain in the ass but theres a number of things that could have went wrong maybe the app downloaded incorrectly and messed up other stuff in your phone (not sure how that would have happened but hey everything is possible with technology lol) or maybe the file you downloaded was wrong or didnt flash correctly or maybe idk lol anything and everything could have happened lol

Yeah, I agree. Could be a bad download or the app(s) didn't agree with another...I'm glad that we're both able to get our devices running correctly. Just wish I knew what was the issue(s). I posted in the LP SS thread about my issues and JrKruse was helping me out. It helped for a bit but went back. The odd thing is that I never had any FC's...oh, well....Again, thank you for your suggestions and responding back. That's what the XDA community is about. Helping and sharing with others, without the bitterness(hehe)as i, at times, see throughout these threads...thanks again, A
I had this prob. also. I had changed download directory to ext. SD card. Changed it back to default location, problem solved. Don't know why won't write to ext. sd.
Random thought, did you use Aptoide to install/update any apps? I had massive issues with buggy apps from Aptoide, and Google Play Services was one of them.
