Themes in Resurrection Remix ROM - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
i just installed the rom and I have been told that I can customize almost everything here ,so i download theme for CM 13 (Neptune Material Theme)
and i dont know how to apply it , if someone know how to customize in this rom i will be glad if someone can tell me
thank you for helping

Yeah, CM13 is a little old so that's definitely not going to work. The ROM itself doesn't even support the CMTE. I have heard it's somewhat compatible with Layers but I've yet to try it out.

I'm guessing your on Marshmallow then. There should be an app with the rom called themes where you can apply it

Two things then. The cyanogenmod theme engine isn't supported on nougat yet. Second thing, substratum is better than cmte. Search for pimps rr and dirty flash it on your current rom. It is the same thing as the official RR but more updated to the January security patch and has full oms support which means you can completely use substratum. No matter what you do you cannot get cmte on nougat. Hope this helps, good luck.

Substratum is basically a better alternative as it is more customisable and has more power and works on nougat. Many roms such as pure nexus support it but cm based roms don't usually unless you get an unofficial version if there is one that might have oms support

I wouldn't necessarily say Substratum is better because honestly there aren't many free options for use with Substratum. I know one can modify substratum themes to their liking as one user I am aware of has done it with a base of Magpie. I miss the Euphoria CM theme and haven't found a substratum theme that replicates it. Not to mention I know that Resurrection rom has mentioned problems with Substratum as other ROMs have.

The unofficial version of RR has no problems with substratum first of all. Second of all there are thousands and thousands of free themes. You need to look a bit harder but I guess it is personal preference. However none can deny that on paper looking at the apps that substratum is the more powerful and customisable one. I appreciate and respect your opinion though but cmte just isn't as good in my opinion and isn't even on nougat yet.

Did you have any problems with play store not connecting to google servers in pimps RR? I flashed the 1/13 ROM and for the life of me I could not get it to connect.

No problem for me. If you have problems try to clean flash the original RR with the December vendor image. Then dirty flash the pimps rr, gapps and the January vendor image. That should make it work. If that doesn't work then try a different version of pimps or a different gaaps. Try to use dynamic but use open or banks if you have to. Good luck.

Hi all, still after reading all the comments I could not find out what to use and how to get into the dark onto Ressurection Remix (official). Previously I could apply dark theme on UNofficial RR but now I cannot - please help me out!

So I tried Mokee open source rom (Marshmallow version) It's impressive.

I've only been running it for a day now (previously on cm13) and I might actually stick with it... i haven't done everything yet but so far I find Mokee is running smoother and is closer to AOSP with alot of default stuff i had to manually add into CM.
I'm not going to sell it too much because i've only been on it for a day but this is an impressive rom.
One thing i'll mention is it's default in chinese because it's developed mainly by chinese but you can simply scroll up to english and you're good to go. (on the first screen after boot).

I've never heard of mokee before; it sounds kind of cool. Is it more AOSP than CM13? My ideal setup is pure AOSP with xposed and gravity box. Gravity box doesn't play nice with CM13 and gives me all sorts of weird issues.

It is a direct kang of CM with additions. The mokee market included in their ROMs from their site will collect your personal information... So if you use the ROM I would delete that apk...

Technically ALL android roms are built from AOSP. Mokee uses most of CM's code and changes it to their own... So technically what you said may true... But it still doesn't change it's kanged from CM...

[ROM]CyanogenMod 14.1 jgcaap builds

Hello everyone, after a great success on building roms for bacon device. I've decided to share my work with other devices. So now I share with oneplus 3. After positive feedback on the rom today I'll publish here the rom.
Kernel and Device tree are untouched so everything should be working smoothly. You can use a custom kernel in case you like, but i'll only give support to stock kernel as I do not yet own an device. So CM bugs are basically also our bugs, and from what I know there is none. Still I'm open to suggestions.
Download
GAPPS
Features:
Updated SQL to 3.15.1
Optimized Build with custom toolchain on ROM and Kernel
Proguard 5.3
Snapdragon Camera
More coming soon
I'm a very praticle user, and my aim will be to get a very fluid stable system, at same time with speed and battery, keeping most stock possible with the optimizations which will improve for real our experience.
Thanks

And have considered adding any of @arter97 fixes and improvements from his cm13 kernel

Loved your builds on oneplus one when I was using it for month.
I will try soon.
Between stock cm from 13 till now, having strange bug fp scanner, sometimes fp sensor stop working, we need manually turn on screen.
If same happens, I will report back.
Also same was in stock cm13 but not happening in @Sultanxda rom.
also, this is not happening in aosp based roms, so its deep in cm.
.
thanks,

@jgcaap : as mentioned earlier, there is same but in your rom also.
Fingerprint sensor stops working some time, need to wake screen manually.
Also, torch gesture not working.
Please fix these issues.
Nothing happen when switching profiles by built-in button. Any idea how to fix that? I trying to change in settings few options but without solution.
Used your ROMs on the OPO.
Everything working great for now apart from the known CM bugs. FPS fails sometimes and alert slider not working?

Mine is working. After few reboot, it was alive.

Hi all,
Have been using the 1+5 since launch day, bought this beast at midnight on launch day and since then it's just amazed me....but I've been stuck picking a ROM due to the encryption decryption worry, I'm currently decrypted on xXx
What ROM are you using and why?
Not looking for the best, just for the points of why one over another.
Cheers.

Different ROMs are build above different sources -- OOS, AOSP, LineageOS... -- and contain various modifications -- theming options, kernel tweaking, features ported from other devices, ability to streamline the system experience, stellar stability or release-early-release-often, etc. Every ROM is different, though at some point they offer more of less similar features -- eck, it's all Android at the core! Still, they represent what their devs feel is important for a joyful experience. Read the first post of a topic, you should have a general idea of what you get.

Thanks, maybe I didn't explain it enough, what I meant was what do you use and prefer and why?
What features sell you the ROM of your choice over others.
I think you can see by the amount of phones I've had that I've seen quite a few.
What are you using at the moment and why?
Benefit over OOS?
I've always been in love with Codename Phoenix, and I still am. I flashed everything there is out there, and every kernel. My conclusion: either OOS, or Phoenix. All the others either have some bugs or annoying problems. I choose Phoenix over OOS because it is just as smooth if not even smoother & faster while providing much more features than OOS. Also, 2 stable builds a month. That's much faster updates than OOS.

The rom also has OOS cam working. The ROM itself is closed source, but it's stellar, so I am sure there's a reason behind him making it closed source. I bet he is some ex developer of some other mainstream rom who really knows his stuff.
The rom that give Codename Phoenix a head to head competition is AOSIP, I have used both and settled down on latter.

I went with AICP, firmware 5.1 at this point is needed with it. Modded Gcam working, modded oneplus cam also working. Alot of features, uses LOS and others for base. if your a flashaholic like myself they have nightlies close to every night even. If you want a custom kernel most of the LOS compatble ones (EX, Flash, Franco) work. Battery life is great, and I like the feature set. Eneough tweaking I dont need substratum to have the look I want. Using Magisk 14.4 beta for root. solid eneough to be a daily driver for sure. Bluetooth works perfect for me as well, no wifi issues.
Still using Pure Fusion 7.1.2, as it's aosp-based yet has oos camera fully working(with portrait and slow-mo).

Not a worry for me that, I've got a Lumie that gets brighter in the morning and tweets at me, wakes me up better than a normal alarm.
How's theming on pure fusion? Been having some issues with my preferred theme lately, in fact so many themes these days don't work.
Google just wants to be lighter and lighter, how they haven't got a dark side I'll never know.
Besides robbing everyone's data
Just like OP, i'm running xXx oos based rom since the beginning, and i'm pretty happy with it.
I'm interested in trying some custom roms, but i've read almost everywhere that custom roms can't get close to camera quality of OOS, is this still true ?
I don't mind flashing any magisk camera mod module if that could help :good:

Most feature Rich OOS ROM

What Stock OOS based ROM has the most features and options? I've been running AOSP based ROM's because I prefer the UI and customization they offer, but I'm having radio issues on them for some reason, so, thought I'd try out an OOS ROM. I like as many options and features as I can get so which is the best to try?
I think xXx has lots but I'm personally running Renovate ICE and it's been awesome!

Renovate and xxx are magisk module roms. On rooted stock substratum works fine with the renovate rom module on subtratum changes etc do not happen or function properly. If using renovate I would do swift installer and make sure you also get the swift module from the one plus 6 themes area. Me I use stock rooted with edexposed and swift installer
