Where can I find an original battery replacement for my g4 plus? - Moto G4 Plus Questions & Answers

Hi. So I purchased my phone last month and I wanted to know (when time comes and if needed) where can I get original batteries. So far I've been looking out on the Internet without success. I tried Amazon, ebay (only have seen cheap knock offs).

Well then we have no option other than to get it from service center.

LOL, it matters here. The last time I ordered something from China, it sat in a customs warehouse for 3 weeks before they sent it on to me.

But it's cheaper without tax and its not in general. If you need it faster, you must pay more, that's normal. I never had trouble with customs and ordered a lot from China here.

Actually I bought several replacements for other phones and Chinese knock offs are the worst you could buy. That's why I asked. And boy does it matter where you buy from. US sellers are less likely to sell you crappy batteries.
Yeah and the waiting time oc it's another issue.

replaced battery
i did replace my battery with this one already after 4 months:
(cant post links as of new user) search german amazon.de for "vhbw moto g4 plus battery"
i figured my battery to be faulty after random shutdowns occured, after which the phone always showed altering battery percentages ranging vom 0-80%. first i (and customer service of course) suspected google maps to be faulty after an update. but after i replaced the battery the shutdowns disappeared.

Btw how much a battery replacement would cost now?

Amazon Sgs2

Need to order another galaxy 2 for my wife. I bought my first one from gummobile.com and it is perfect. It is a UK version.
Amazon seems cheaper right now and I can get it overnight. Is the amazon version a UK phone or from somewhere else?
Mine was UHKE2 (Chile). Gotta love Amazon Prime. Not too happy about the no-warranty bit though.

Didn't realize you were talking about Amazon UK. Totally different.
In the US, Amazon sells it without a warranty. Of course, there are several places in the US that will include a warranty, but it's usually more expensive.
US customers are getting jacked.
Ah u had me worried there ... Surely it's Samsung who provide the warranty ... Us seems a little unfair

Sorry, should have stated I was in the U.S.
Any U.S. sellers selling the UK version?

Expansys USA might sell the UK version. So you know, the Chile version is perfectly fine. You don't need to habla to use it.

I'd order it from Expansys-USA. UK inventory is plentiful now so you'll get a UK phone which, unless you intend to mod it heavily, is your best bet for updates. They also ship the phone back to the UK for service for you during the two-year warranty period. If the screen dies on a phone without a warranty the replacement cost is 300 GBP ($477 USD). Something to think about.

I rooted the same day so I'm not too familiar with stock. However, I read WiFi Sharing and the Samsung apps/hubs are battery killers. I'm running Cognition 1.08 with SetCPU and Tasker. I haven't used it too much today, but I'm at 75% after 18 hours.

I just looked at expansys they want to charge me tax on a phone that is being shipped to texas. The price ends up being cheaper if I just order it from the UK again.
I got mine from Amazon (US) and received the UK version of the device. They give you 30 days for a refund and in my experience, most software and hardware issues rear their head within that time frame. Two other friends of mine also ordered from Amazon and received UK version.
Cloves is also another good site to look at. Most people who have ordered from their have been happy.

Same deal for me. I got it from Amazon themselves (not another company that was Fulfilled by Amazon or w/e), and it's worked great for me so far.
Mine is from Chile as well was running stock, but battery life is same as everyone elses here. Just flashed Lite'ing Rom.

I'm curious. What's wrong with fulfilled by Amazon? I did it that way and they told me my phone would be subject to the same return policy as though it was sold through Amazon itself.

Yes, same one month return policy. There is really nothing wrong with using it. However, all else equal, I prefer to deal directly with Amazon.

Fair enough. One thing Amazon told me was because it was fulfilled by, if there was a defect they'd have to give me a refund due to it being another company's stock. If it was Amazon directly then they could replace.

Ordered the T-Mobile version!

I ordered the T-Mobile version earlier today, FINALLY. Not sure if I should have waited for the DEV edition, but the T-Mobile version comes with an unlockable bootloader so I guess that's good. If the DEV edition becomes available later this week I will simply return the tmo version and get that.
Anyone else order the T-Mobile Moto X?
UPDATE: Our Moto X's have started shipping, although the moto site still does not reflect it. Showing a delivery date of 9/16 (Monday)!

Might wait for the Dev. Edition and/or Motomaker edition, the appealing thing about the Moto X is the possibility of the 32gb internal storage and you won't get that with the carrier version.
Do we know if the Dev edition will come with T Mobiles AWS HSPA? If so, that is what I'm going to wait for.

It probably won't. The T-Mobile version does though, and is fully unlockable... so I'd go with that one.
Almost bit the bullet and bought one of these. Can't justify dropping 600 bucks for 16gb and from most accounts a poor camera and average screen. I really wanted to love the phone, but in my limited time in playing with one, I just don't feel it's a 600 dollar product. Motorola pays 220 dollars to have the phone made, they would have taken over the world if they didn't try to get 3x the price out of customers.

Thanks for wishing me luck, it worked. I bought a LG G2 for 600 dollars. Problem solved. I appreciate the luck! :good: 32GB, 1080P screen, Great camera with OIS, for the same price. It wasn't the fact that phones cost 600 dollars, its the fact that Motorola is charging 600 dollars for that phone. Its not a 600 dollar piece of hardware. Anyway, I'm good to go now, back to my regularly scheduled G2 forums. Best of luck X guys! Its really a cool and unique phone.

You're welcome
And congrats!
I tried to order one several times yesterday. I had it the basket every time and when I clicked the purchase button I kept getting a message about an error with my credit card which has plenty of money on it. Now I have three holds pending on my credit card in the amount of the purchase and they all say Motorola Direct. First chat session was cut off and second one was with a person saying the only moto x available for purchase was the att exclusive one. I told them they had bad information and they insisted I was wrong. I made a call about it and have had two call backs today but each time I was busy. Hoping for another call back today because I'm not going to sit on hold for another 20 minutes today to see what they have come up with. They did admit that the website has a problem but without more info I am in the dark still I'm losing my faith in this company and it sucks because I want to try this phone and give them a chance but it is frustrating so far. I know its early in the game for the T-Mobile variant but damn, its not looking good so far.

In other threads that don't have to do with the t-mobile version, people have reported the phone showing up even before the motorola order status page was updated. So....anyway, take that with some heavy salt.

It's going to be pretty hard to knock off my OnePlus 3t. I have it pretty dialed in and it's the fastest most energy efficient phone I've had by far. Same setup on my Nexus 6P and Note 5 have always got me an average SOT of 6-8. I thought that was really good...OnePlus averages 12 and Ive never seen it average under 10. I have hit 14 before a few times over a few loonngg boring 3 day weekends.
No mate 9 for me. My gut was right. The guy was a scam and swappa was extremely unhelpful. Took them forever to shut the guy down no matter how much evidence they had he was a scammer! Anyone know anyone who wants to do a story about how shady swappa is? I have so many screenshots and messages and saved web pages before they erased my messages. First and last time using swappa for sure

So the wrong phone arrived today it's the white one not the black one I ordered. Swappa wasted my time to verify everything with the numbers I provided. The help they gave me at the end was exactly the same as earlier. Contact PayPal! Thank you swappa what a great business. It shows me they are amateur and have no power to help anyone at all in any way other than tell people to contact PayPal. The last thing I want is a white phone OR to try and deal with PayPal again after the last 3 days of dealing with this.

That's extremely crappy. Swappa made a HUGE deal about me refunding the buyer of my old Note 7 despite the fact that he could have just swapped it out or tried to get a refund himself. They really need to get their act together and treat all cases the same. They should be the ones trying to make the seller do the right thing here...

Motocare

I am on the cusp of ordering the G5 plus 64. I went to the Moto site and got it in my cart and went to check out. There I noticed I was given no option for Motocare. I stopped and posted about it on their forum. It is my opinion that if you do NOT offer a warranty, you have no faith in your product (so why should I).
Anyone else been down this road already? Any news? Thanks.
Sent from my LG-H810 using Tapatalk
I never buy this type of thing, although i have not looked into motocare. Something to consider, is that the phone is just a week old or so, and they will likely have something out there shortly. There are other 3rd party places that offer insurance if you need it immediately. Many times, you can get coverage from your Renters/homeowners policy too.

Thank you for your response. I hadn't really thought of that.
I think at this point I will hold off a little longer. It is nice to be reminded of the other options that I have , again they hadn't occurred to me. Still their lack of insurance creates the idea that they have no faith in their product. When I had a moto G3, I had bought two... One for me one for my wife. One of the two died in the first month. This happens with all Electronics , but I can't help being wary.
Thanks again for your quick response. Definitely gave me some other options.

The battery I bought off ebay for 16 USD turned out alright so far. Manufactured in Oct. 2017. The person had sold 3,000 of them and had good reviews. The Same battery is now going for $115 3 days later lol.
Hey guys, i have the random reboot problem but only sometimes. Accubattery is showing 99% battery health but it still shuts down some days specially whenever i'm outside. I'm in Canada and well everything freezes here so i don't blame the device lol
There are not oem batteries in the market (not that i could find anyways). Could someone recommend a good battery that i can order online?? Also accubattery shows good health but it still shuts down so i'm debating as to what to do next.

Seeing as how you are in Canada, I would go with this: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Original-OE...%3Afa5fb3d61600aa13ae677e61ffff1135%7Ciid%3A1
It comes from Winnipeg so shipping should be quick. You can also order it with an extra camera glass. Someone recently asked about that very same battery on reddit and there were no complaints about it. It's supposed to be good. I'm in Sask and planning to order one of these soon.
