It's a manufacturer whose scanner was used during production of particular model of the device: either it's Goodix or FPC. It is related only to fingerprint scanner.

Gyro Sensor

Hello guys
Need some help, how can I calibrate my gyro sensor as I did the figure of 8 as it got 'stuck' but still seems wrong in certain game apps.
Think I should return under warranty?
You didn't elaborate on what you meant by figure of eight? Or provide any detail about your configuration, not even which variant or firmware version you have. Or which games you allude to.
Nevertheless, there are lots of existing threads on this subject. Not to mention sensor test apps and the built in hardware test menu. Lots of details in existing threads if you take a look. If you have some unique problem, then you need to elaborate and give us a better description so that we can help you better.

Fingerprint reader is not working on any cm12 based ROMS; you'll need to use one of the samsung based roms if you wanna use the fingerprint reader.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/orig-development
Does this still apply anymore? CM12.1 has been receiving fingerprint updates recently .
I have been wondering about the same thing. But i think they are just experimenting and testing to be prepared for the release of "Android M". And i hope someone can implement it.

They are missing because of no driver source released by Samsung.

Easier Fingerprint sensor

Okay so this is kind of an idea/request I guess. I wish that someone would make some type of root that would make the Fingerprint sensor on the galaxy s5 function like the one on the Galaxy s6. Anyone else agree? If so reply or if there is already one please reply as well.
i dont agree. but thats mostly because i understand how hardware works.
its like asking for a file that makes a hdd into an ssd
its not the way it works

It's not the best way to start your xda career...
I think the s5 fingerprint sensor isn't capable of performing like that, I could be wrong.
Well I don't know, it could be done. New to this whole forum thing.
I think we can't do anything else than the swipe, but lockr or hi locker wich supports fingerprint is more easy.... Perhaps less secure, but it's easiest to unlock!!
I just thought that there could be a way to change it works. Eh, sorry I'm not good at this kind of stuff.

Hardware limitations basically limit how much software can do. Not much you can do if the fingerprint scanner itself works differently to the S6 one.
Correct me if I am wrong but with the right knowledge if you are able to alter the hardware application layer of the touch input for the finger print swipe you would be able to register the touches. I'm not 100% sure how to do it but there might be some sort of hardwares software help somewhere in wilderness

there are 2 point regarding your topic ...
but first there is NO WAY the sensor can behave like s6 ... let me tell you how both works :
the galaxy s5 has a like motion-detection based sensor it gets input when you wipe not just press or touch thats number 1
number 2 all what you can do about it is limit the number of inputs the sensor records this may ease up the detection process
like in fingersecurity its a bit faster but you will have to swipe anyway the the system's but it has its drawbacks since the input signals are lower the effeciency of the sensor is becoming lower and by that i mean it might mix up and work with an anonymous person trying to unlock
i hope you got my point
Well I did say correct me cheers for the input haha.

My God, I needed a new and cheap phone, I'm leaving a Note 6 Pro that is already tired. But I think I regret buying this "Poco M3"
The gyroscope I saw in POCO M3's test mode is "Voltafield gyro Gyroscope Non-wakeup", it is a soft gyroscope.
Sorry guys, have u ever experienced some issues or bugs with the accelerometer/gyroscope sensor on the device? I've read many threads about some issue in the sensor and I hope not to be the only one and find some fix

No, but the GPS signal is not so accurate under heavy rain.
