Average charge time?

How long is it taking you guys to charge your N7? At first I had the sleep of death and once it finally turned on after a slight charge, it stays at charging 0% for quite some time now. But before that, it always seemed to slow charge.

No idea. I plug it in when I go to bed and it's good to go the next day...lasts me the whole day. I also don't know how many licks it takes to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop.
At I/O they said the tablet takes about 3 hours to charge from 0-100% but it may be faster. Whenever I get the 15% alert I throw it on the charger for about an hour and it's past 50%
charge times will vary depending on the charger as well, best charge time will occur from the wall charger that came with it, USB trickle charge will take a month of sundays
that is of course unless you have a magical USB controller that outputs 2A from each port (highly unlikely)
I wonder if its something wrong with my battery. Been on charger for more than three hours and nowhere near 100%. It was at maybe 48%. Drainage seems reasonable..its just the charge seems rather long to reach full charge. This is all from using the stock charger too...

Typically 3 to 4 hours for me using OEM charger
Via my HTC Rezound
Between 2-3 hours on charger, around 7-9 hours on usb.
My battery app says 3 hours and 40 minutes on average. That includes charge times when I am using it at the same time so I guess about 3 hours.

I don't know what happened, but with me, when I first got it it was 3 hours on the dot to a full charge. Then one day it said it needed to be plugged in to charge getting below 14%. Then I plugged it in and got the sleep of death, and plugged it in the wall and the battery icon came up, then I turned it on. Now it's been charging for about 6 hours and its only 85% :crying:
Mines generally around 40% at the end of the day, it takes less than 2 hours to get to fully charged.
Mine takes about 3.5 hours but I noticed my 10 foot micro USB cable doesn't charge fast at all. Takes about 12 hours on my 10 foot cable
Yeah I'm with the rest, mine's in the 2.5 - 3.5 range. But as stated, which charger you use makes a huge difference. Charging off the computer (USB to PC) is waaaay slow. Using the OEM wall-charger is what should give you 2.5 - 3.5.
3-4 hours for me depending on what percent I wait till, usually 5-15% battery, haven't tried with anything other than the OEM charger though.
From about 10% ie when the warning to charge came up, to 100%, took mine about 2-3 hours only last night using the supplied charger. Much longer on USB, haven't timed that.
Should I get mine exchanged ? I'm still within the 14 day policy of Mac mall. Its been an hour and its only 14%. Usually it takes 3-4+ to charge fully.

Make sure you're using the supplied charger. I believe the ones for smartphones charge at a different rate? I made the same mistake when I first got my Nexus 7 by charging it with my SGSII charger. It was VERY slow. Then I switched back to the supplied charger and everything was normal.
Usually takes me just 2 hours, and it is full. I usually start charging at around 15%. Using OEM Charger too. :good:
I used my Gnote charger but left it overnight (about 5hrs). I'd say that normally it takes around 3 hours. The battery life is awesome I have to say.

Yeah that's exactly what I did.

I found this while searching for an answer, my Nexus has been taking 12-15 hours to charge fully, using the factory charger. I also tried my powered USB hub (using a charging port, rated at 1.5 amp), and my Galaxy Nexus charger, same thing. Called Google today and they said it's the device, and I need to return it. Luckily I bought it locally, so I can just exchange it at the store.

Nexus 10 Charging

Is it just me, or does this bad boy take all day to charge? The transformer only outputs like 1.2amps. I've only gone from 45% to 77% in like 4 or 5 hours. It's sooo slow
Mine takes a really long time too, though I haven't measured it yet. I just plug it in at night when I go to sleep and it's done in the morning. The battery lasts me all day.
Is there a reason you need to charge it while you're awake? This thing lasts 5-8 hours easily; surely you aren't on it that much!

From experiment, it looks like taking one hour to charge 10%. So total time for full charge is about 10 hours. I used the nexus 7 charger and it took about 16 hours!
No problems charging here, I just charge overnight

Mine also charges very slowly. Discharges when on charge if you're using it (depending on what you're doing of course).

Do you charge 8 Hours for your first charge

Hi guys! Just got this baby today and battery is dying soon! Just wondering if you guys let it charge overnight for 8 hours on the first charge?
It'll take 3 or 4 charge cycles to reach full capacity. And by soon, how many hours of screen on time are you talking about?

Well I was just asking if you guys charge it straight for 8 hours on it's first charge lol :X
Electronics inside stops charging once the battery is full. You can leave it on forever it won't make a difference.
You can charge it while turned off (maybe one or 2% more will go in) but other than that don't worry about it.
But yes, first couple of cycles are aweful, use it for a week or two, then the true battery capacity will reveal itself.
Also you might wanna discharge it to auto-shutdown and charge it up to 100% uninterrupted for best results.
To answer your question quickly: no, I only charge new devices until they're full unless I leave them overnight.
If you do some math: 4325mAh battery being charged at rate 2A (that's the official charger right?) theoretically it should take 2h10m to fully charge the battery. Of course there are losses and everything but it shouldnt take more then 3 hours.

I just leave it on the charger overnight. Anywhere from 6-10 hours.

Slow battery charging

I'm on the U firmware, but I don't think that's it. It was charing fine on U until a few weeks ago. Any cable I use charges it in about 4-5 hours. Even the fast charging charger that came with it.
I also have the Samsung wireless charger, which I use while sleeping. It has been on for 5 hours and is at 51%. The phone says it needs another 4.5 hours. My wife and I went to bed at the same time, both using the same wireless charger, her note 5 is fully charged, while mine was at 51%.
Fast charging is enabled, so I know that's not it. Any ideas?

Until a few weeks ago... did anything update? Did you change anything, add/remove anything? Have you been allowing it to fully drain to 0%? Its recommended to not let it drop below 30% frequently, and keeping it on the charger at 100% is not good either.
However, it IS beneficial to let it drain to 0 then fully charge to 100 without use (and powered off if feasible) about ONCE a month.
I'd say try letting it fully drain, turn it off, fully charge then see if it continues, if it does, can you do a backup and factory reset?

I never charge it unless it's about 15%. That was the recommended a few years ago when smartphones first became popular. It drops to 0% about once every 3 weeks. No updates or changes, either.

Phone Charging W/O fast charger

How long does your phone charge without using the fast charger? I found it quite slow without it. My phone charge from 22% to 93% needs to take 4 1/2 hours. With fast charger it would takes less than 1 1/2 hours to fully charged the phone. Is there something wrong with my phone?
It seems so. Try changing the cable and see. I charge via Nilkin 3.0 fast charger with Smart Smith 3.1 usbc cable and my Mugen 9300mah battery gets fully charged in 1.30 hours
