i'm from Ecuador and i have a at&t s7, my firmware is G930AUCS2APC2 and i don't get any ota update, is there any option to update with pc?
I'm using my phone with Cricket SIM card. I couldn't get any updates after April, so my phone stays in April security update (baseband APD1).
please erase or close the post, I sold my att s7, and bought a 930F.
how can I upgrade my android version 6.0.1 to whatever is the newest out? I'm also on September 1, 2016 security patch. I got the verizon s7 one but I use it with a MVNO so I can't take it to a verizon store and have them update the phone.
Need to wait until it's released. Nougat hasn't come out for the Verizon S7 yet. There's a nougat update thread with a process to use if you want to root your phone.
oh there hasn't been any update before nougat?

i use Samsung Smart Switch on my PC with my test phones that have no sim in them.(including Verizon). http://www.samsung.com/us/smart-switch/
It does bring down the security and other updates.
I have an S8 Active unlocked in Europe. All OK but there are NO updates for me, even if AT&T have an August update for S8 Active
Any ideea what to do? There is any chance to receive an OTA update if I use it in Europe? Really strange... and frustranting. NO root, no custom OS etc.

To my knowledge, August update hasn't been released... I have an S8 Active on AT&T and just checked for update... None available.
Why is it so infuriating? It's well known that active updates come late, they always have.

Maybe things to know before going into it. You don't ever buy a carrier phone like this expecting root and custom ROMs SMH.
And that's the current firmware with the July patch. Wait a bit since it just came out or get an international model a little more suited to what you're wanting. The att S8 active is NOT it.

Not yet On AT&T page seems there is a new update (Oct. patch) but still nothing for me. I'm un July patch :crying:

You need to use it on AT&T network to receive the update?! Because, I even reset my phone, do anything, but no sign of update.
I use it in Europe so, no AT&T for me. Really sad
That's too bad. I did end up buying an unlocked S8 Active G892A, I REALLY wanted this device so decided to buy anyway despite concern over updates.
I know the S7 active did require an AT&T SIM to download OTA updates, but I haven't seen if this really is the case with the S8 Active as well... I will write again once I receive my own device.
I am on October. I tried to find the url, but I took the update too long ago.

Earlier on reddit i saw the G955U got the AT&T October update and in the comments said that they had gotten it for the G950U. But here I am waiting for it because I want to play around with super slow mo
I have the latest firmware files for a Verizon G950U. Anyway I could flash these? I attempted earlier with 0 success, but I'm probably doing it wrong.
Hi. So, fist post, tried to search a similar, but didn't find any.
I bough t a 2nd hand S8 SM-G950U. I am in the Netherlands, it was cheap. This had a Verizon firmware but was already unlocked. I could live by hiding the Verizon apps, but I couldn't update and the security updat was from 2019.
I went through a tutorial and found a Sprint firmware that is from 2020, but if I try to update the software, it says the device is up-to-date. I have another, G950F S8 that still receives updates. I just guess it is looking for updates on the EU servers that don't have updates for the US firmware.
I read that I cannot flash it with the G950F firmware, because they have different architecture, so what are my options? Can I try the U1 firmwares?
