Dude, you have to read some basic things to understand, but to give you a direction:
Here's a generell list of guides and fixes. It has a "root"- and a "recovery"- section. Both are absolutely necessary. Go here first.
Here's a list of custom roms. There are stock-roms, stock-based-roms and completely custom-roms. I prefer stock-based-roms because the devs added some extra features and you have full driver support.
I hope this helps a little bit.

i have read some of there before, but i'm yet to understand it, because my previous phone was nexus 4, installing roms and such was fairly easy, and with this LG G2, there are complicated things even as flashing roms, not all models the same and such, and im afraid to brick my phone because of that, i also have a D801 model - D80110C and i have heared that there are different version of things and such.
anyway, what will be the best way to flash stock lollipop / stock based roms and later flash back to 4.2.2 if something goes wrong? thanks

I just did this, in my experience the best way is
1) updating to stock lollipop
2) rooting via oneclickroot
3) flashing twrp via AutoRec (correct version)
4) flashing twrp 3.x blastagator via old twrp
5) flashing desired rom
There is one caveat though, the root process will install the correct (old) SuperSU that works with AutoRec, but google play may update it beforehand so that AutoRec cannot work. My fix was to install AutoRec before the root and then go into airplane mode and do it all in one go. Also, you should always check if you got the correct carrier version of your software.
Going back to kitkat? This should not be necessary imo, but if you mess something up you can always flash the stock .kdz files (lp or kitkat) via download mode and lg flash tool 2014. This phone is almost unbrickable.
Hope this helps and after years of G2 roms I can finally give something back.

do you have a D801 model? i cannot update to lollipop through normal fota or lg pc suite, it doesnt see anymore updates
i have software version of D80110c, what are the last letters means in it? C/G/ and such,
and also how should i update to stock lollipop rom without bricking my phone? it seems that there is alot of room to ****up. thanks =]

I have d802 and could always update it to LP via LG software update in the phone settings.
10/20/30 is android version, 30 being lollipop. 30a/b/c/d is revision or carrier version I think.
I am not sure about D801, but if I was you, I would try to update to LP via official LG update, otherwise try to root+recovery with your existing kitkat (search the forums) or flash LP kdz from download mode (LG flash tool). Always make sure it works for d801 and your software version.
Then I would install a fast custom rom cause stock LP is rather slow.

i tried to update through lg, but it showed me that i am "UP TO DATE" might be because i bought it from someone who bought it in the US in cincenti bell ( and i dont live in the US, or close to it), the phone have a cincinetti bell rom, so i guess that why i cant update it through the phone like that. and i have a jelly bean 4.2.2 , not even kitkat. it is possible to flash a lollipop kdz just like that even if i have stock never tuched 4.2.2 ? thanks alot

No, when rooted never install OTAs as it can lead to incompatibilities that could get you stuck in bootloop etc.
install a custom recovery(i prefer TWRP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2469995) then choose a ROM, ensuring that it is D802 compatible (should say in the thread). The ROM will usually be updated to the latest available android version, if you dont want any tweaks go for a pure stock ROM:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2521152.
Ensure that when changing android versions that you are backed up (Titanium Backup:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.keramidas.TitaniumBackup&hl=en) and make sure you follow the instructions on the ROM thread accurately.

[Q] Root using ioRoot25?

Hey everyone!
I just got my AT&T G2 last night.. I like the phone, but really want to root and ROM, coming from a gnex.. its a bit bloated to me
Anyway, it was 4.4.2 out of the box with firmware verison, D80020c. Originally I thought I would need to revert to stock firmware D80010d? However now I have been told I can just use ioRoot25 and then flash Cloudyfa's AutoRec recovery? Is that correct?
I'm going to get at this, this afternoon but obviously it would save a lot of work if I could just use ioRoot25 but as I said, I want a custom recovery also so I can flash a non-stock rom.
Please let me know what would work, and what works best.. Thanks, Chris.
I've went ahead and downloaded supersports tool to revert to stock D80010d. I haven't actually ran it yet, because I want to wait on input from people in this thread. However, it seems like rooting with ioRoot on D80010d, flashing custom recovery, and than flashing a ROM would be the way to go.. It is my understand that currently it is no yet possible with KK to have custom recoveries? Being on stock KK doesn't do anything for me anyway.. I'll probably just flash a asop based ROM running 4.4.2 anyway and go that way with it.. So it would work like this..
Currently on D80020c (KK) --> Revert to stock, D80010d (JB) --> Root using ioRoot (any verison would work I guess?) --> ADB flash over either CWR, TWRP, or Philz recovery? --> Get some 4.4 based rom with gapps, flash it and all is well? Then I will be rooted and romed with a kitkat based rom correct? And all in time for the weekend?? lol.
Right on. Use ioroot25, but apart from that you've got it all figured out. You're right there is no recovery for pure kk because they patched the Loki exploit, but there are work arounds. Everything you need to know about rooting and flashing had been covered here so just go ahead and do your thing and enjoy your new phone :good:

F320K Return Back to Kitkat from Lollipop

I have installed Cloudy 3.1 ROM which is very great and smooth but I have some issues like notification sound is very low and I cant even hear SMS notification if I am outside.. on the other hand I am getting 2 hours 35 minutes on screen time from 100 to 5 percent of battery, which is not so good. I have Korean LG G2 F320K variant which was officially updated to Lollipop and than I installed previous cloudy G2 3.0 and then I flashed this one.
No I have only one question, that I want move back to kitkat ROM which would either be Cloudy Stock or Cloudy Flex as I have heard many good reviews.. So please suggest me the that which bootloader thingie I need to flash along with the flashing kitkat rom after cloudy 3.1.. there is return to stock method in which we need to flash return to kitkat zip but that is for D802... So please suggest me..ASAP I would be greatful for any help...
P.S i just want to avoid the traditional flashing the KDZ method...to return to KITKAT.. so please suggest a way forward to get back to kitkat..from lollipop

Hi, depends how you have installed your recovery:
If you have installed it for example with autorec v2 or twrp bumped by Blastgator, you have bootloader kitkat (because downgrade the bootloader) so you can flash a rom kitkat base.
On lollipop I have installed the recovery from f320_lp.apk and then I installed BUMP recovery.. so this means I can flash kitkat ROM now??
I have LG G2 D802 (I don't know if is the same for F320) and in general with twrp bump you can flash rom kitkat bump.
Now I don't now what you do to flash recovery and if everything is ok...but if you are not sure you can brick your device!
Best choice to return stock is always to flash kdz because reset all partition....
However for security wait other reply by F320's owner.

All steps are listed here. Start with Recovery > Autorec (for your model).
Good Luck!
