Lenovo k4 note Marshmallow root? [32gb/2gb-ram] - Lenovo Vibe K4 Note Questions & Answers

Does anybody know how to root a lenovo k4 note?
I have the 32 GB internal/2 GB RAM variant
I'm still new about these stuffs and all I know is to unlock bootloader, install TWRP and flash something but it's for the 16 GB/3 GB RAM variant.
I've also tried looking tips in YouTube but it's only for the 16 GB/3 GB RAM variant and I don't want to risk trying it to my variant. :/
So has anyone successfully rooted their lenovo k4 note MM 2 GB variant?
If so can you post here the steps?
Thanks and cheers!! :highfive:

So I tried the unlocking part, It went to some menu
VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV
Select Boot Mode:
[VOLUME_UP to select. VOLUME_down is OK. ]
[RECOVERY MODE]
[FASTBOOT MODE] <<==
[NORMAL BOOTY
=> FASTBOOT mode...
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
This came up but pressing volume buttons does not move the arrow, the only working button is holding the power button (but I guess that not how it goes) so what should I do?

[Root][RS988] Rooting RS988

Now that LG has released the bootloader unlock for the RS988 it can now be rooted.
------------------------------------------------------------------------Disclaimer---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This post is meant to be educational and I am not responsible for any lost data or damaged devices resulting from the following instructions
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----Instructions on Unlocking your bootloader can be found here---------
WARNING THIS WILL FORMAT YOUR DEVICE
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/development/official-european-lg-g5-h850-bootloader-t3363040
The only difference is selecting RS988 when selecting your device
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Requierments:
ADB
fastboot
An RS988 LGG5
The working (though not entirely tested!) TWRP image is found here https://build.nethunter.com/test-builds/twrp/lge/twrp-3.0.2-1-rs988.img (Thank you jeffsga88 for finding this link)
The Latest SuperSu Binary
Step 1:
Make sure your RS988 is fully updated, the rebooting into the bootloader is only unlocked in the most recent updates.
Step 2:
Enable Developer options and USB Debugging
Step 3:
Enter Command
Code:
adb reboot bootloder
Step 4:
Once in bootloader run
Code:
fastboot flash recovery [path to twrp image on your pc]
Step 5:
Turn off the device DO NOT let it boot back into android!!
If you do boot back into android, you will need to re-flash TWRP (Steps 1-4)
Step 6:
With your device unplugged, hold power and volume down, releasing the power button for a moment when you see the LG logo, then
re-pressing the button to enter recovery, on the following screen select yes both times
Step 7:
(The Following Text other than step numbers is written by and entirely created by jcadduono, and can be also found at his post at https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/development/recovery-team-win-recovery-project-lg-g5-t3363047)
At this point, you will see the TWRP splash and reach a screen asking you if you want to allow system modifications.
By swiping right, you will trigger dm-verity, and if you don't follow step 8 you will be unable to boot!
If you are going to root your device or follow the rest of these steps, then it is safe to swipe right and enable modifications.
Step 8:
Only if you want internal storage or data to work in TWRP:
Go to [Wipe] -> [Format Data] (not advanced wipe) -> type "yes".
WARNING: This will wipe your internal storage, disable encryption, and factory reset your phone!
Go to [Reboot] -> [Recovery].
Step 9:
Please consider backing up your stock boot partition in TWRP before proceeding to the next steps!
Step 10:
If you want to be rooted with SuperSU:
Download the latest SuperSU stable by Chainfire.
Without exiting TWRP, transfer the SuperSU zip to your device over MTP* and flash it using [Install] in TWRP.
-or-
If you only want a bootable system partition or writable data in TWRP:
Download dm-verity and force encryption disabler.
Without exiting TWRP, transfer the no-verity-opt-encrypt zip to your device over MTP* and flash it using [Install] in TWRP.
Step 11:
Go to [Reboot] -> [System].
---------End of jcadduono post clip-------------
Now upon reboot, the phone may loop a few times and take up to 5 minutes to complete the process.
When you get into the device, run through setup as normal and you will have SuperSu installed and you will be rooted.
I can not verify Magisk Root Yet but will be attempting to do so soon.
You guys that have the rs988 you may want to ask one of the devs to add support for LOS and custom ROMs. But don't bug them either.
Maybe @King_lilrowrow could help if he has time, although I know he's been busy lately with other things. Hopefully someone will help you guys out. I have no idea how to, otherwise I would try and help. Nice you guys have rootr and twrp finally though.
I am using latest version: RS98810d
Step 4: flash recovery finished without error but cannot Power Off when press "Power" for 10 seconds so I unplug batterry then plugin again and press "Power+Volume down" but it cannot so I tried run command "fastboot boot twrp-3.0.2-1-rs988.img" after re-flash recovery but system shows:

After flashing recovery, unplug USB cable and pull battery. Put battery back in, then press and hold volume down (hold volume down entire time) and press and hold the power button, when you see the lg logo, let go of power button for 1 second and then press and hold power button again until it reaches factory reset screen. One at factory reset screen select yes both times and you'll enter TWRP. When using the buttons remember to never let go of the volume down button only the power button for 1 second at lg logo.
You can also try after flashing it:
adb reboot recovery
Note: you must reflash TWRP if you allowed it to boot into os without flashing SuperSU or magisk.

I've held off on unlocking the bootloader and rooting, since it seems there currently are no ROMs available for the RS988 to flash. Basically you just end up with rooted stock?

Yes, currently all you can do is install TWRP and root stock. You can also install some audio mods like viper, but no custom ROMs yet for this version of the device.
Is there a touch TWRP recovery available? Granted I'm not sure if I will be able to flash it, since my power button is broken.

Yes it's touch TWRP, can't even remember last time I saw a non-touch based one, been at least 3 years or so. Anyways it's located in the op. As far as flashing it, I believe you can do it without the power button. The issue will be rebooting to recovery after flashing it to flash SuperSU or magisk (if you don't do that or at least get into TWRP before first bit after flashing and delete the recovery from boot.p file, TWRP will be overwritten by default recovery and you have to flash again). While in fastboot mode, after flashing you could try and use:
Code:
adb reboot recovery
Not sure if that will get work or not while in fastboot mode, but something to try since your power button is broke.
Is it work on h860?

You can always check using LG bridge and use update feature. If just wanting to know because your wanting to root and get TWRP, try and follow the guide. If you're not on latest version you'll know because you won't be able to unlock the bootloader using fastboot. If you can unlock your bootloader, you're good to go.
Here's the link and info for LG bridge and using it to check for updates:

Root Sony Xperia XA [F3111, F3113, F3115][N][33.3.A.1.97] or repair bootloop

This guide only works for the Single SIM model!
Only for: [F3111/F3113/F3115][N][33.3.A.1.97]
Requirements:
http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php
https://mega.nz/#!Btg10D6L!-WX6Aa0Z6qpVSUcAiaF2W8fYl2UlM9fGDB0EVpkA4Tc
https://drive.google.com/file/d/17NBChXsL15GyQaqaJYUwu0ZijBMRzwMl/view
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
For Magisk click Donload 'latest stable'
https://mega.nz/#!Y0lQnTZI!WG5F2Cf_JpxqsZx59ZOVBydkQMy4Gb25kmWYl1HkzQI
Instructions:
Copy the Magisk and DRM zips to an SD card and put it in you phone or copy the files directly to your phones internal storage
Rename the recovery file to 'recovery.img'
Then copy both the boot.img and the recovery.img to C:\Flashtool\x10flasher_lib
Check if bootloader can be unlocked:
1. Open the phone application on your device and type *#*#7378423#*#*
2. Tap service info then configuration then rooting status
3. If bootloader unlock allowed says yes then continue with this guide if it says no this guide cannot help you
Unlock bootloader:
1. Go to your phones settings then click about phone and tap build number around 7 to 10 times until it tells you you are now a developer
2. Then go to developer options and turn them on
3. Next turn on OEM unlocking
4. Next turn on USB debugging and click ok
5. Next open flashtool and click on the BLU button
6. Then turn off your phone and plug it into the computer whilst holding volume- until the green LED appears
7. Then click on unlock this will unlock your bootloader and let us continue
Installing custom recovery (TWRP) and Rooting(Magisk):
1. Connect the phone to your PC whilst holding Volume+ and keep holding it until the blue light turns on.
2. Open the command window in C:\Flashtool\x10flasher_lib. Then flash boot and recovery with the commands "fastboot flash boot boot.img" and "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img".
3. Disconnect the USB cable and press Volume- and Power button until you hear a vibration. You are now in the recovery. When it prompts for a password, press Cancel and Swipe to allow modifications.
4. Then go to Wipe and press Format Data. You must do this as if you don't, a boot loop will occur. Then go back and go to Install and select your Magisk file and swipe to install it. Then reboot to system.
5. It will take a couple of minutes for the phone to boot up (For me it took 5mins). Once it boots up, setup Android and be sure to skip logging into google or myXperia as it doesn't work without the DRM fix.
6. Turn off your phone and press Volume- and Power button until you hear a vibration. Swipe to allow modifications. Then go to Install, select your DRM fix file and swipe to install it and wait for the installation to complete. Then reboot to system.
7. That's it. Your phone is now rooted and the DRM functions now work. You should have the Magisk app on your app list now.
Bootloop Repair:
1. Open flashtool and click on the BLU button
2. Then plug your phone into the computer whilst holding volume- until the green LED appears
3. Then click on relock this will relock your bootloader and let us continue
4. Then download and install xperia companion and open the software
5. Then click software repair and click on 'My device cannot be detected or started, or is a SmartWatch 3' and click next
6. Then select 'Xperia phone or tablet' and click next
7. Check the check box for your google details and click next then let it initialise and follow the steps on screen
Thanks for reading :good: and thank me if i helped
How, will you know that the DRM keys are active/working?
At My XA (F3111) my cameras are not working at all, and if i do your tutorial it will fix my cameras?
Thanks In Advance

[HOWTO]/[ROM] [UNOFFCIAL] How to Flash Lineage OS 19.0

Here is a quick how-to guide to flash LineageOS 19.0 to the A51
Disclaimer: I am not the maintainer of any of the files I link to here. I just wanted to share my experience to make the process of Flashing los19 to the a51 easier for others.
Prerequisites:
1. Unlocked Bootloader
This step is crucial. You need to unlock the bootloader of the A51 before trying any of this. If not, you are likely to brick your device.1.1. Unlock developer mode by standard procedure: Settings > Info > Tab 7 times on build number1.2. Enable USB debugging in Developer Options1.3. Enable OEM unlocking in Developer Options -> To see OEM unlock option I needed to connect to my WIFI, then set the phone date manually to March 7th 2019. Only then the OEM unlock option became visible in Developer Options. Yes, this is super dumb and inconvenient...1.4 After triggering OEM unlock option shutdown your phone.1.5 Enter Download mode by: Pressing Volume+ and Volume - while at the same time plugging in the USB cable that is already in your PC.1.6. To finally unlock bootloader, you will see a green screen on which you need to press Vol + for some time. THIS WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY. It will also erase all data on your phone!1.7 After reboot repeat steps 1.1. - 1.5. again. This time you can actually enter download mode by pressing Vol + shortly on the green screen.
2. Flash Twrp
You can now flash TWRP via Odin. The TWRP img I used is here: https://www.mediafire.com/file/0h14t0263oujhna/TWRP-11-3.6.1-a51-20220321-1406-hotfix.tar/file. I flashed it as AP. Make sure to uncheck Auto reboot before flashing. When flashing is complete hold Vol - and Power until reboot.Immediately when rebooting hold Vol + and Power until Samsung logo appears, then let Power go but hold Vol + to enter TWRP.
3. Actual Flashing:
3.1. Necessary Files:Make sure to load all files necessary to your SD before flashing:ChonDoe_Flasher, Disable_Dm_Verity, Multidisabler, LOS-Imagefile, Magisk(optional)As for the LOS Image I used this file here, which already includes gapps:lineage-19.0-20220211-UNOFFICIAL-treble_arm64_bgS-vndklite.imgIf you don't want gapps pick an image that says "BvS" instead of "bgs"3.2. You need to move your LOS-Image to the same folder as ChonDoe_Flasher and rename the file to "system.img"
3.3 Flashing Sequence:
In TWRP Follow this sequence:
3.3.1. Wipe data, dalvik, cache3.3.2. flash disable_dm_verity3.3.3. flash multidisabler3.3.4. Wipe internal storage (Backup might be advisable, if you didn't format data anyways)3.3.5. reboot recovery3.3.6. flash chondone with lineage-19.0-20220211-UNOFFICIAL-treble_arm64_bgS-vndklite.img in the same folder renamed to system.mg3.3.7. Wipe data3.3.8. Reboot
That should be it. First startup takes some time, your phone should boot to LOS 19.
4. Anger Management
If you softbrick your device you can try to go back to stock rom by accessing download mode and flashing it via Odin. Will take some fiddling around with the button combinations.
If you hardbrick your device don't hold me responsible and good luck to you!
Thanks to
Kyau Sana, Vadim Kupriyanov, Knoyan GTR-X and Sara Lins and other, from the telegram-group, who helped me figure out the process.

Lineage 19 flash worked but after flashing my TWRP recovery bootloops (flashing twrp logo).
TWRP that loops is twrp-a51-3.5.0_10-1_ianmacd.
Do you have a working TWRP for this version of Lineage ?
Tried TWRP v3.6.1 A51 tree but it doesn't work and boots into download mode with "DT Entry not found / DT Load Failed / VB Meta sign errors"

Nope TWRP does not work. When using the one you linked (as all other 3.6.1 ones) it just jumps back to download mode with DT Entry not found & VBMeta not signed errors.
ALL sensors ok ?
Fingerprint ok ? In this ROM

Sorry to hear mate. Unfortunately I cannot hell you solve this issue. There is a telegram channel for custom roms on the A51 with many motivated people. One of them might have the answer you need!
See: https://t.me/samsunga51
If you find it, please post it, so others can profit from it. With your agreement I would also like to add info about the solution - should you find it - to my initial post.

Don't know about fingerprint as I do not want to provide biometric data to my phone. Maybe someone else using the ROM can answer this; Or you, if you decide to flash it post your results.
Apart from that I have not had any problems with the ROM apart from the following:
-The resulotion of the native lineage camera app is not satisfactory. When I find an app that works better, I'll let you know.
- Restarting the phone after empty battery requires a soft reset sometimes (power+vol -)
-> A solution to this problem might be given in this post. Will try it later.
Thank you, @DerTopher , but unfortunately the link to your LOS file does not work any more. How do I get the file now?
THIS GUIDE ONLY WORKS ON ANDROID 12!!!

I have concluded all my experiments, and now I can confirm that the "twrp-a51-3.5.0_10-1_ianmacd.tar" on this website only works for Android 10 as instructed by Admin. This does not for Android 11. For Android 11 you have to flash a different file called "Twrp+vbmeta_A11.tar". Details are given in the following link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...-sm-a515f-one-ui-3-0-dub1-android-11.4231543/
