How do I run game that is of 4 GB in my mobile whose internal memory is 8GB. - Samsung Galaxy J5 Questions & Answers

Hii I have a problem. I have to run GTA SANANDREAS game on my SAMSUNG J5 2015 model. The problem is I have 8 GB internal of which only 4 GB is available for storage of the obb data. The obb file of that game is 4 GB. I have rooted my device and have 30GB of ext2 partition on my 64GB sdcard. I have even linked it using LINK2SD. For linking the obb data using LINK2SD it must first be in the internal. But I cannot do that. Is there any way in which I can link the game file and game data outside the obb folder? The directoryBind app is not working in my phone.

Yes I have rooted it. My link2sd plus is working fine with other apps. Hey I just now saw that when I linked my obb data file of a game to my ext2 partition, my original obb file is still in internal while a new obb file of same name has been created in my ext2 partition. I am very confused. If linking doesn't free up my internal memory then what does it does?

[Q] Galaxy 3 Apps2SD. Data still being saved on the internal memory..

Hey everyone.
I installed a leaked version of Froyo on my Galaxy 3 I5800. I'm using the hack to always install the apps on the memory card. However, only the main apks of the apps are being stored on the memory card. Any application data is still being stored on the internal memory. For example, installing Angry Birds takes 10 MB on the memory card, but also takes about 2 MB on the internal phone memory..
Apps2SD is a huge improvement, but still, if the data's being stored on the internal memory, I'm gonna run out of space some time or the other.
Is there a hack or something to make the phone keep even the data on the memory card? I've heard about Apps2Ext but not sure if that can be installed on my phone and whether it stores the app data on the EXT partition too.
Any ideas?
Android documentation says that even when app. is installed on SD card,
"The .apk file is saved on the external storage, but all private user data, databases, optimized .dex files, and extracted native code are saved on the internal device memory."

May be that's better because program can run faster.. anyway you can solve it by creating of ext2 partition on your SD card and virtualy enlarge internal storage.
But I haven't found any manual how to do it on i5800.
Are there ext2 capabilities in the i5800's Froyo? I'm asking because 2.1 lacks them, much to my dismay. A Linuxish device with a closed file system (rfs) with no tools available (and FAT), erm...

install move to SD first then choose the option Exteral SD.Anything you install from now on will be installed to the SDCARD but aware the widgets and programs that require root doesn't work well in the SDCARD together with home replacement program.Unless of course the app itself support installing to SD.

Yeah, the APK file, that is the main package, is installed on the SD card. However, all the data that the application actually saves are usually on the internal device memory.
I have enabled Move to SD and set the install path to external, but it will still save application data on the phone memory. That is how Android is designed to work

you can extend your internal storage with your SD card, but you need to create ext2 partition on your SD card first and then <i>and this is the problem</i> explain to your i5800 to use this partion on SD card.
I've red many articles about it on HTC / SE phones where this method work. They say that the ROM must be customized, which haven't been done yet with our phone. The problem is, that the good programmers have Desire / or SGS and they do not care about the i5800

And this is where the problem starts: The i5800 cannot handle ext2, at least not with its stock roms. You're stuck with an exotic proprietary file system (rfs) for which no tools are available.

Yes. For that you need to first flash a fugumod kernel. Then you can use Kyrillos' apptosd script from here. You need to use apptosd script v3 if you want your /data/data to be transferred to your SD. But script v3 works good only with class 6 SD card or higher.
Oh yes. You need to convert your data partition to ext4 and create an ext4 partition in SD card also.
ok formating...
seems that i have here a class 4 sd card 8gb... damn it!
I am currently on Kyrillos 6.1. If i create an EXT4 partition in my SD card, via CWM recovery, how can i move the apps which are already installed in my phone memory to that partition? Like if i use Titanium backup, then would moving the apps would go to FAT partition or the newly created EXT4 partition?

First backup your apps using titanuim backup. It will get backed up in SD card. Then copy the backed up apps and the rest of the stuff in your SD card to your PC. Then goto recovery, advanced, partition SD card. Create the required partitions. All data in SD card will be erased. Then in recovery only, wipe data. Then reboot. After that all the apps which you install will goto the ext partition that you created.
Thanks Dhiren!!! I was just wondering whether there was any way to directly move the apps to the EXT4 partition which are already installed on phone memory..I shall try out as you said...

In Linux you can use fdisk to delete all partitions and make only one of 8GB in size. In Windows I guess you can use Disk Administration tool or whatever utility that allows you to create and edit partitions on your storage devices.

Lol? I used Cwm and it was perfectly fine. I guess you put too much in your 2nd partition. You can't see your 2nd partition like in file explorer.

[Q] SD Partition

I already partitioned my sd card months ago but this totally bothered me. I 2nd partition is 1gb and when i open settings->apps->manage applications, it still shows that my internal memory is only 190mb. What seems to be the problem?

You want to increase you internal storage?
Cant see what you want dude
Are you using any mods?
Sent from my Galaxy Pocket with rooted stock ROM
There is no problem here
use link2sd to mount your 2nd partition then you can link apps to free up internal storage so you can install more apps
your total internal storage will not increase - only available storage if you link apps to sd card that are currently on internal or have lib files on internal
on most deodex custom roms after you have installed around 80 apps you will have between 30mb & 60mb of free internal storage depending on the data & cache of apps

I don't believe you understand what a 2nd partition is/does
your total internal storage will not increase - that's impossible without repartitioning the internal storage & taking space from other internal partitions which would be stupid as you would take space from boot partition
an sd card partition is on your sd card so you split the total storage of your sd card into two therefore your total internal storage hasn't increased - you haven't put a bigger internal hd in
your 2nd partition size is displayed in the info in link2sd
what it does is take apps in internal space & place them in the 2nd partition - it then leaves a link file where the app was so basically the app still behaves like it's on internal but it's not
No, i understand. Well, that would be all. No problem anymore.
Sent from my GT-S5360 using xda premium
using Link2SD doesn't increase your internal memory/RAM ... Link2Sd makes it easy for Android 1.6+ users with root privileges on their phone to move applications to the "SD card".

Its possible with amarullz script

Its a script that you put in your init.d folder.
But i cannot ensure that works on every rom/kernel kombo.
With hells fusion 50# kernel + evo x3 rom is it working (my daily use)

If you modify the fstab correctly and make userdata at least 1GB you should be fine. I've partirioned my sdcard to use external sd, cache, system, and userdata giving me much more space to install roms and apps. I'd recommend a more powerful sdcard to take away the lag

hey,
even if your phone is rooted, you can't simply fool the droids memory architecture just from a Third Party Application..
you need INT2EXT script with a constantly running application which watches the memory.(eg link2sd)
and for all that u first need to partion your sdcard to the device(grand2) supported partion i.e ext2/ext3/ext4.
for partioning i recommend PartionWizard windows application.
else The custom CWM is highly recommended (which unfortunately isnt available at this time)
Does int2ext work on grand2?

i guess it will work
we just have to trace its internal memory hardware location
and memory address where the /data folder exists..
then we need to create the partition modules(.ko files)eg:- Ext3.ko
then we need to create supported partition on sdcard.
and then create int2ext script which links the module and partition on sdcard which fools android.

There's a app called (root) folder mount in market.Theres a free version or paid version.I use that to mount all my game data to my ext. Sd card. The free one let's you mount 3 folders, the paid let's you mount as many as you want. You can run it and go to app analyzer in it and it shows all the folders and how big they are.You click on what ones you want to move and it creates folders on ext.sd card and moves all the data.
It's very easy to use and you can swap out any folder you want.
