It's a known problem for some users that the battery maybe goes to death. You can check if the battery will be calibrated with any app.

First off 7.0 is not official yet. Secondly I had a similar issue on MM. Had to get it sent in for repair of the battery.

Same as above. My son's phone had the same problem and would randomly drop in battery %and frequently shut off. RMA'ed and got it back within a week repaired (us).

That's because of the app . Uninstall apps or rest phone you may see the difference. Its because of app not compatible with OS it may cause this type of problems.

App not compatible with OS?! Are you aware of what you are posting? That's not a problem of an app.

Teah that's the very problem even i have experienced the very same problem once my phone automatically shutsdown then the Moto people told me tonenter phone into safe mode and check again that's because od 3rd party apps like ram cleaners etc.

If the app is in the app store it is certified to run without damaging your phone. If you installed an APK manually you run the risk of issues. Best bet is to do a factory reset and see if it solves the issue. If it doesn't like me I sent it in for free repair of the battery and havent had issues since.

even i too got same problem on my moto g4 plus device device is getting switch off automatically when an incoming call appears

Hi
Even I am Facing the same problem my mobile is shutting down while playing vedios , am not getting what is the problem , pls can u people help me to resolve the issue

I am facing this issue while playing songs or during incoming calls. I checked muktie custom roms and issue is happening on all of them.
I disabled greenify, disabled all kernel tweaks but issue still persists

My girlfriend's G4 Plus has the same problem. And we sent it back to Amazon. Apparently the qualified workshop changed the battery and sent it back. Problem still persists. Did someone find a solution? Highly annoying!

I sold the phone

----Fix is at the end----
It's been happening to me. My moto G4 plus would shut down when I had the brightness on max, recorded video, played loud audio, had incoming calls, etc.
I investigated a lot and everything pointed towards the battery. But the battery charged fine and lasted fine, and with the charger connected it would not happen. Tried recalibrating it but it didn't work. Then I downloaded an app which would show me the battery voltage in realtime. So I did some more tests. I tried doing power intensive things (flashlight, video, etc) and checking the voltage. When I was doing something power-hungry the voltage would drop to 3.2-3.1 volts, and then slowly rise up, which indicated the battery could not deliver too much current rapidly.
So I tought of two possibilities, the battery could be faulty, or the contacts were loose/dirty. And I did the easy/cheap fix to see if it worked, I just disconnected and reconnected the battery connector, and it worked like a charm, no more shutting down out of nowhere, even at 10% battery and with power intentive tasks.
TL;DR: If it happens to you, remove the battery connector and reattach it again. It worked for me. If it doesn't, replace the battery.

The only solution to this problem is to remove the battery connector and then press the power button for 10 seconds and then connect the battery connector.
Problem solved !

[Q] Does anybody have this issue?

My nexus 4 was bought about one month after it was released .
I didn't have this issue in the first three months ,but recently ,about in the past one month ,it occurred kind of frequently and randomly.
Here is the issue:
I lock the screen and leave it there without using .When I am ready to use it ,I cannot awaken the screen even after I press the power button several times, both short and long press ,as if my phone was powered off ,even though I know its power is still 50 percent or so. After a series of random press ,I give it a long press ,then it gets rebooting .
I have been searching on the internet and many Nexus 4 users have this issue ,however, nobody can tell exactly what causes this problem .Some say it is caused by snapdragon batteryguru and some say the battery is not firmly installed .
I don't know whether you guys have ever come across this issue ,what is your analysis about it and how you solve this boring problem...
Glad to see that I can find solutions here...
My nexus is running original android 4.2.2 and is not rooted.
sleep of death. long press (10-20 seconds) powers off/reboots the phone. can be caused by phones software, undervolting and apps.
i haven't got any issues like this, have you installed a rom? if you have try another rom, also remove battery guru as suggested

had this as well, a SHUTDOWN and then battery pull helped.
also have seen mention of "force stops" triggering this, advice was to not force stop anything for a while and see if it triggers again.

Mine has been doing the same ever since the kitkat update.
I am running an unrooted EE note 3 (n9005) in the UK.
Gsiff_daemon is constantly my top battery drainer according to the battery app (35% - 47%).
I have not been able to find any consistent method to either activate this rogue app or to get rid of it.
Is there any solution without rooting it as I understand that renaming it should do the trick?
Usually the problem is when you soft reboot.
It was reported somewhere that it is the GPS sensor daemon, but disabling it did not show any adverse effects for me.
Get a root file explorer and remove it/rename it to .bak

gsiff_daemon fix.
Hello all. I just posted this on another thread so i will copy and paste to save doing it all again.
*No root required*
Hey
This worked for me.
In settings and the application manager, under the 'All' tab. I found a program called 'unified daemon(EUR)'
I tapped on it and disabled it.
The gsiff_daemon has since not appeared on battery usage.
I also set Power saving mode and changed Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep, to never, in the advanced wifi settings. Select wifi option in settings then press menu tab and select advaadvancednced to find the option. This turns off wifi when it's not in use and automatically turns on when you turn off lock screen.
my battery has more than doubled.
Hope it works for you too.
In my informal testing I found that gsiff_daemon is somehow related to S Health (somehow keeps the sensors awake even if you're not using the phone). I disabled S Health and SensorService and the problem went away. Easier for us unrooted types.
Solved!

SERIOUS Battery drain here
PROBLEM:
About three weeks ago I started to experience serious battery drain. This is a significant difference in daily results compared to a month ago. Now, three weeks into it I am having to put my phone into ultra power save mode on a daily basis just to be able to function as I am getting 1-3 hours of use out of my phone at this point. The problem has gotten progressively worse, as time has progressed over the last three weeks. Today seems to be the worst with me LOOSING battery charge while it is plugged in, and not in ultra saving power mode, (My phone is loosing 1% about every 10 minutes) and only having about 10 minutes of expected battery time LOL.
ENVIRONMENT:
Today is 1/8/14
I have a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S5 (G9000T). I have had it for about 8-9 months, got it brand new (was replaced once 4 months into using it because of broken camera), but this is my second GS5 phone.
I am using Android software version 4.4.2
TROUBLESHOOTING:
Only app added in the last 3 weeks was HeyTell, which was about the time this problem started. Force stopping the app actually helped for about a day or two until the problem resurfaced. Finally deleting the app last week did no good.
Talking to T-Mobile, they recommended testing my gyro sensor.
Go to call screen and dial *#0*# and I get a test screen.
I pressed sensor and then test gyro. It failed. They recommended a master reset. DAMN, I HATE doing that. So much time to get it back to where I want it.... SOOOO many notes on how to set the phone back up LOL.
RESOLUTION:
I did a master reset today 2/9/15. They gyro is still showing a failure, so they are replacing the phone.
Same issue samsung s5 duos
Hello,
I had the same issue of the battery being used quickly by the gsiff daemon.
Thanks for your details of what this application is.
For the solution, I did a few soft restarts, a hard restart and activated the light power saving mode. After 2 days my phoned worked fine.
Don't have any more information.

Turns out the frequent restart & heating happens when you enable the Double Tab to wake and sleep options. I have disabled all the 3 options and now it seems to be working normally!
You can try it too, go to Settings -> Display & Lights -> scroll down to advanced and uncheck all the options.
The problem exists in my phone as well.....however I am experiencing new drawbacks like if the phone is kept in Airplane mode the battery gets exhausted within 2-3 hours....this seems to be weird....:crying:

My phone reboot when idle more than 10 times a day , please give a solution without rooting

Hi bro,
I got my YU on April 11th in my hands. There isn't really such serious problem on my phone. But if i use Camera for long then rear top portion of the phone heats a quite but never faced random reboots. Besides the System_update_service is constantly keeping the CPU awake doesn't let to enter into deep sleep easily, so we can disable it and enable back when there is a news of OTA rollout. Backup and Performance is marvelous
Current bugs in my observation:
1. Color enhancement can't be permanently disabled. It auto enables after unlocking screen.
2. VPN disconnects randomly. No issue with Mobile data and WiFi.
3. Sometimes on disconnecting a tele call, the screen would stay black. So here Double tap to wake is the savior. As the power button won't wake up the phone.
rebooting nightmare

Yes if you use the phone for long it will get heated. But the problem posted here is excessive heating even without using the phone. This is happening due to bugs in the Kernel, which has been addressed by CyanogenMod team and should be fixed in the lolipop update..

Nexus 4 Only working when plugged in with charger

Hello fellow xders, I have a problem with my nexus 4, I've tried almost everything but nothing really works, let me tell you the previous build when it's working normally.
When working:
*Unlocked & rooted.
Rom: CM 13 Rom nightly build
Kernel: CM 13 stock Kernel
Recovery: TWRP 2.8
Everything works fine for some months until 2 days ago I tried my nexus for VR using Google Cardboard that I bought online.
After using it, my phone starts turning off by itself randomly, and now I can't even boot to my rom without my charger plugged in.
I've wipe everything, using my new TWRP 3, I mean everything, even my internal storage, but the phone still won't work without the charger plugged in.
So i thought, maybe it's the battery. Please note that my phone never had any problems before, I mean ever.
So i thought battery is the problem, but turns out I can boot to my recovery rom all the time without a problem, the phone turn off by itself only when I tried to install the new CM13 rom, the same thing happened when I tried install another rom.
Does anyone ever have this kind of problem before, i really need help, thanks.

No, it's not turned on like usual. and when i tried to do "Data Format" in TWRP 3.0, it gives an Error, something like /dev error 255, i don't remember the whole line.
It's probably something to do with the memory card error perhaps? What do you think?
Now I downgraded back my phone to stock condition, i unrooted everything, even locked my bootloader back.
Now i'm using stock android 5.1.1, with factory settings, here's some condition I noticed with stock factory settings:
1. I still can't boot properly to my stock rom without the charging cable plugged in. It only shows boot animations for a while and suddenly phone turned off by itself.
2. I can boot into the stock rom with my charger cable plugged in, and after I get inside the stock rom, I can unplugged the cable and everything seems to work normally. So I don't think it's battery problem.
3. I think the problem has something to do with the boot sequence / internal memory / internal memory partition / block, cmiiw
Please help me, I don't know why things go like this after using VR cardboard, I wonder if it's the cause.
Thanks a lot for your reply, sorry for my bad english

and it's probably caused by the accelometer, it's just my hunch, but when I changed my ROM to CM13, my phone won't auto rotate automatically. probably the CM 13 kernel didn't handle the accelometer correctly. and when I use it for 360 video which use accelometer rigorously, it makes the accelometer worked too hard or something, or the cm 13 kernel didn't handle it correctly and it affect my whole hardware. it's just shooting in the dark, but i hope it helps you with more information a little bit.

i haven't tried using it for the whole day, but for the past 2 hours it works fine without charging. the drained percentage is also very small, because i don't have many apps installed yet, and i didn't even use cellular data connection. but for phone call or sms it's working perfectly without any problem

Wow, this is strange and it does appear that the battery is fine. I don't know what else to suggest as you did everything I would have done.

Hmm, never tried to recalibrate an accelerometer.
I have the same problem, the device just works plugged in charger. I read some threads and the problem in all thread are solved with a battery replacement.
Yep, I'm afraid this is indeed a battery problem. Had the same issue with mine Nexus, it worked as usual, then it suddenly went off and didn't want to boot again without the charger plugged in. Worked perfectly in a recovery, though. Replacing the battery fixed the problem.

No, but my Nexus have this issue just recently. A service shop says this is a motherboard issue, I hope isn't. The devive has exactly the same problem in this thread, and I read others similar threads and all were solved changing the battery.
(Sorry for my imperfect English, I not speak english naturally)
I wouldn't trust a repair shop to properly diagnose the issue as it was really only discovered from trial and error.
Batteries should be cheap and fix the issue. either at a repair store if that's what you tell them to do or do it yourself
One question: Should my phone be with the stock rom when the battery is changed? Have any relation or possible problem if another rom is installed?

anyone else experiencing random shutdown issue

Hi there,
I have been experiencing random shutdown on my one plus 5. It happened twice in 15 mins when I was listening to Spotify on my headphones.
Not sure if it's to do with the latest update or not .
Just wondering if anyone experienced this. I have also post on the 1+ community , hoping it's just some software glitch. Overall, it's an impressive phone. Oneplus should sort out there glitches before shipping the product out tho.
Yeah software glitch maybe try resetting your phone ..haven't had random reboots on mine so every device is not having it...if you can ..then replace yours otherwise enjoy it... there's always custom Roms...btw have u updated all software updates yet

Probably a malfunctioning app, try a safe boot to see if it happens again or data factory reset.

Do you have the latest update?
Nope all good here.
Happened today to my phone. Weird. Didn't happen again. I guess is a software bug or an app not working well.
Update
It only happened when I was using Spotify when my headphones plugged in.
All good here as well. Hmm. Spotify? That's strange. Have you tried other apps? Like black player?

Hello, it happened to me this night, I was surprised when I woke up that my phone was on the pin-code screen. I didn't shut down my phone just put the plane mode. (4.5.5)
Happens to mine. Maybe 4-5 times since I got it. On 4.5.5.
Like, I will not use my phone, pull it out if my pocket and it'll be black, non responsive. I'm not completely sure if it's shut off already, or just non responsive, and need force shutdown.
Not much more to add than this :b
I have not experienced any random shutting down.
Any fix to that? I've had that happened to mine 7 times already since I got mine on June 26th. I've had the issue yesterday while sending a sticker on Facebook Messenger to a contact, and a couple of minutes before whilst playing Pokemon Go ... this is really borring. The last two times it happened, there was an update waiting to be installed (well, on the german servers at least, since I didn't have the update here in Belgium but once I used a proxy, I could download and install it), not this time tho.
I love the phone but my GF just told me to switch as if she has a problem or if I have a problem and can't use the phone, this would be really bad. I would prefere not to change, so if you guys have a solution, I'm all ears

That also happened to me more than twice. Not only in the night. Most time if the phone will be charged. I use only the dash charger. I didn't put it in plane mode. Strange problem. I have no idea why this happens. In this situation the alarm clock or anything else isn't working.

Are you on Xposed? It is a known issue, phone reboots when fully charged and connected.

Yes. Thanks for the hint.
Edit:
It should be fixed with Xposed 88.2 https://github.com/rovo89/XposedBridge/issues/203

Sometimes my phone switches off whilst uploading a big file to drive
I don't understand why it's happening even in their 5 series. The 3 series has this stupid problem as well. Really frustrating. One Plus needs to get a grip and get rid of this glitch ASAP if they wish to remain in the game.
